Came here for lunch on Sunday with my partents. As I expected the place was busy and there was about a half hour wait to sit outside on the patio. During our wait we grabbed a round of beers and had time to look over the menu and game plan our meal. Once seated our server was attentive and she got our order in right away. For starters we split two stuffies and three clamcakes. They were both very good and had a good amount of clam pieces in each (and the stuffie had great seasoning / flavor). For my main course I went with the lobster roll and my parents tried the fish tacos and the pan seared fish sandwich. From the first bite up until the last french fry was gone, we all couldn't stop raving about how amazing the food was. All the fish was extremely fresh, well prepared and the portions were the perfect size. And as much as I love lobster rolls...the one I had ranks up there as probably one of the best in the state. The hotdog roll was buttered and grilled and then stuffed with huge chunks / claw meat that was perfectly dressed with just enough mayo. Just thinking about it now is making my mouth water and crave another one. In my mind, Quito's is the quintessential RI clam shack. While the wait can be lengthy at times to grab a table, the food and views certainly make it worth the wait. Servers were friendly and even when busy seemed to stay on top of things. This little spot in Bristol is a great go to when it comes to fresh seafood and good size portions. It wouldn't be summertime in RI without a trip to Quito's.

We ate dinner here last night. We've been coming to Quitos for years and recently have noticed a steady decline in the quality of many of the non fried meals. Last night my wife ordered the Pan Seared Scallop plate. This is meal that costs over $20 and they should have been absolutely embarrassed to serve that. I wouldn't have fed that to my dog!! The scallops were so over cooked that they were hard!! It's too bad, we used to enjoy going to Quitos but we'll definitely be giving second thoughts to returning.

It's amazing how I have yet to write a review for quito's. (well a recent one at least) My dear friend referred me to quito's and I am glad she did. Small joint right on the water literally. The food is always served hot and fresh. You have the option of sitting inside which is a bit cramped but manageable. The other option is outside with the natural a/c. The wait staff is very pleasant and prompt. The menu offers a lot of variety, but I mainly start with the fried calamari, my entree is usually the lobster roll with fries.

This place is a hidden gem!! What a restaurant! The seafood is OUTTTA THIS WORLD!!!! So fresh and never frozen, the boats come up to the dock and then go right back out for more. The lobster bisque is simply perfect, with a whole claws in it! Best appetizers are the calamari (huge and plump), the crab dip (wicked cheesy and full of crab), and the steamed mussels (the portion a meal in itself). The fried whole clams wow!! Anything lobster wow!! A must go! Oh and ask for Katie she is super :)

Fresh seafood and HUGE portions! Prices were great for the amount of food you get. Clam cakes and stuffies were really great. In Bristol you really can't go wrong if you want seafood but Quito's seems like it's right off the boat. Excellent view as well. One tiny complaint is the dipping sauce options for clam cakes (my personal favorite) was either cocktail sauce or tartar sauce. Not bad in 1987 but I would have liked a spicy mayo/aioli sauce or something a little more modern. Also options were pretty limited as far as craft beer goes. Visit this place ASAP if you want the best seafood around.

This place is fabulous. The owner catches fresh seafood, off of his boat, and the restaurant overlooks the water. The take out section allows you to see your meal and the sit down section allows you to enjoy your meal. I wish there was more inside space, but that does not supersede the quality of the food and service. I've tried a few different dishes and all were excellent. It's a must try!

I used to love the food, but Alyssa is crazy! Won't go back because of her. Plus Aidan's has better clamcakes and chowder.

Great meal. Chowder and lobster rolls. Nice water view. Wait service was a bit slow. Will try again.

Our lunch outing started off by looking at an outside dining area full of people. I thought my mother and me would be forced to sit inside. The hostess said she had a seat by the water. We got to have the best seat in the place! Mom was thrilled. I was thrilled. Plus a two page menu of delicious sounding seafood, plus small two sided specials page. Life is good. We had such a difficult time deciding (ok, I did), that we bought time by ordering the 6 clam cakes for an appetizer. They tasted great, even without any tartar sauce. Mike, our excellent (and patient) waiter, took our meal order. We watched a young couple stand up paddle by and a gentleman kayak across the harbor. And we commented how lucky we were to be sitting here on a beautiful in the best seats in the place. I had the strip clam platter and Mom had the fish and chips. Best strip clams I ever had. Not chewy, just tasty. I tried some of the fish and it was delicious also. Not too much batter. And we both agreed that the cole slaw was fantastic. For dessert we had the key lime tart. Very good. Can't wait to take my friends back to this find. And hopefully Mike is working when we go back.

Ate here on Saturday afternoon. They don't take reservations, so there's usually a wait on weekends, but we were lucky to be seated immediately. The place is a little run-down, but it has great food and a beautiful view. We had chowder (one New England and one Manhattan) and clam cakes for an appetizer, and we both had seafood casseroles for an entree. Everything was delicious, and the portions are pretty big. It ain't cheap - all of the above plus two beers and two sodas was over eighty bucks - but it was a nice meal, and the server was very pleasant.

we love Quito's and go many times during a typical summer but usually on weekends. This was a Thursday visit and it was disappointing. The ambiance is always there, but tonight the food was only passable. My wife had the sea bass special, served with broccoli and risotto. Fish & veg were good; 'risotto' was rice with lots of butter-no cream, just butter and the rice was crispy at times. Risotto??? I had RI chowder (perfect) and a la carte piece of fish (good but really crispy as well--guess Thursday is crispy day. We'll definitely go back but tonight was not memorable at all.

Decent seafood in bristol. A little pricey, and the service was a bit slow. The chowder was flavorful and chunky. We tried the Manhattan, Rhode Island, and New England chowder. The Rhode island one was out favorite. Clam cakes were light, although deep fried. The dough was not as flavorful as we've had at other places. Similar with the stuffies, they were decent stuffies, but did not really stand out. We also had the 1 1/4 lb steamers. They come with a butter and garlic/clam juice for dunking. The clams were a little gritty, which was a little disappointing. The clam juice for dunking had too much salt in it. The sangria was also very disappointing. Nonetheless, nice view looking out the water.

Always packed in the summer but man is this place the bomb. They luckily have take out so a quick order and a sit by the water and you have a the perfect scenery with a nice sunset. Lobster roll is my favorite here. Simple, plenty of lobster and not the typical masked with buttered, seasoning or salt. Just quality ingredients, simply made to taste nothing but perfect. RI clam chowder is very flavorful and a total different take from a Manhattan or Boston clam chowder. Clear broth filled with clams, potatoes and all the good stuff. We've tried many items on the menu and nothing has disappointed other than the long wait on a weekend evening. So be sure to either plan ahead for the wait or grab a take out to go. As for reservation I believe its 6 or more people only anything less is just a walk in wait. Give them a shot and let me know your opinions. Definitely one of the best in the area and I make every point to make it out when I'm even a few hours away.

Our first visit - overall it was very good and we'd like to come again, but some of the food preparation would have to be improved. The scenery was lovely! Our waitress was very attentive. We appreciated the friendliness of the busboy (and noticed he was careful to thoroughly clean up vacated tables and even underneath). We started with chowders: Manhattan for me and New England for my hubby. Fantastic!!!! Nice, warm rolls were also served. We also ordered mussels in an oil and garlic sauce, but we had no idea how much oil - waaaay too much oil! Entree time - here's where the potential 4 stars dropped to 3. I ordered the seasonal item: Lobster Paella. Hubby had the scallops with chunky mashed potatoes and broccoli (he also had a house salad-blue cheese flavored, but no chunks of blue cheese to be found). The scallops were as big as the waitress said they would be and the portion was very generous. The potatoes, sadly were flavorless and the broccoli was overcooked, wet, and sitting in small pool of water in it's single serving bowl. Then there was the oil - all over the dish making everything oily. My lobster tails were nicely grilled, but the saffron rice was overcooked and mushy AND flavorless. So, if we were to come again we'd like Quito's to hold the oil! I think they'd save money by not dumping so much oil on the food. We thought we had finally found our RI seafood restaurant, but alas, the search continues...

I went yesterday afternoon with two friends for lobster rolls and it was amazing! We sat out on the patio and it was wonderful. We got the lobster rolls buttered and they were tasty and sweet. I'm already planning for my return trip!

I'm giving this eatery a high rating. For one thing the hostess was so wonderful on accommodating my family of 8 . The waitress we had was very efficient and took care of the the 5 kids that we had with us. The meal was excellent from the lobster pasta to fish and chips along with the special salmon tacos with avocado ! Amazing!!! Portions are big so go hungry. New England clam chowder was both a good size bowl and was rich and creamy and full of clams. Atmosphere is totally laid back and casual. There's awesome covered patio that would be great on a summer day. They also offer Gelato as a special treat. The prices are reasonable for the area. In the summer it's usually impossible to get in so that should tell you it's a winner. I would definitely go back on a sunny day to sit by the water and enjoy another seafood meal,

  • Amanda B.

The food was great! The atmosphere is laid back and cozy! The view is to die for! Outdoor or indoor seating is available so you can choose. On nice days the covered patio is the way to go for sure. The specials were yummy, salmon tacos with avocado vinaigrette nice and fresh! The stuffy was okay but def not the best I have had or close to it. The chowder was great. The fish and chips was a winner at the table and was a very large portion! The kids chicken tenders and fries are def enough for two little ones to share.

I'm updating my review from 4 to 5 stars after eating lunch here three days in a row because of service, food and fun: The greeter, the owner I believe, was warm and welcoming and personable each and every time. The servers - Tori, Gina, and Amanda carried on the tradition with personal comments that made my bride and I feel like we'd been coming here for decades. The highlights for me after three lunches - Coors LIght in a COLD glass, littlenecks and cherrystones on the half shell, the New England clam chowder and the lobster roll with butter with the french fries and cole slaw sides. My bride choose the Fish something Sauvignon Blanc, the same chowder, and crab cakes as her faves. My son liked the Mango shrimp because it was spicy. My wife's family HAS been coming here for decades and swear that Bristol clams are the best in the world. I'm now a believer!

Quito's has a beautiful view of the water but the restaurant itself could use a face lift. This is a great place to grab a beer and plate of fried seafood and watch the sun go down, but it's not a place to impress a first date. We tried the calamari, which we order almost every time we see it on a menu, and we both agreed theirs was the best we've ever had. HUGE pieces of squid, fried delicately in a light, flavorful batter. Each piece was very chewy and salty, just like it should be. I had the seafood soup, which was just okay. Lots of seafood (fish, shrimp, mussels, etc.), but the tomato broth was a little bland. We also had the fried whole bellied clams, which were not sandy or gritty in the least. In all, Quito's is a great casual spot in Bristol, perfect for stopping in after a sweaty bike ride, and generally a nice relaxing place to catch up with friends over a frosty brew.

Visiting Rhode Island with friends, both Derek and I formally lived here. Previously I never spent much time in Bristol but Derek attended Roger Williams so upon his suggestion we tried this and that was an amazing suggestion! Walking up this place is very unassuming, a small shack with a patio and plastic furniture BUT sit down and enjoy this quant spot. For my meal I started with the clam cakes, listed as a fried dough with clam. You can select anywhere between 1 or a dozen. Although I found these to be tasty these littlr fried dough balls are served without a sauce, I ended up asking for a cocktail sauce. They are also VERY doughy. Their appearance is similar to that of a hush puppy however there is no corn or corn meal present in these fried dough balls, their consistency is pretty much fried dough. You may not get clam chunks in every bite but the flavor is consistently there. My main course was the classic New England lobster roll. Now with living in RI for a few years and traveling for work I've sampled lobster rolls across the country and by far this was the best lobster roll I've had. The lobster salad was not heavy in dressing a/k/a mayonnaise nor seasoning. Although advertised with dill the dill is not heavy and the only addition I made was some pepper. The sandwich itself was largee than expected and over flowing witj lobster salad. I selected a side of fries and was delighted at the ability to drizzle of malt vinegar. The food fantastic and the service was fast, I'd give them 5 stars except for the ambiance. I don't think they need to be over the top upscale but plastic deck furniture isn't the most comfortable.

Locationally, Quito's is a terrific choice for a spot to dine at after a trip down the East Bay Bike Path all the way from East Providence, about 13 miles or an hour and how many minutes away. It was just a short distance away, along the water's edge. We came at an opportune time when there was no wait. Their set up is such that seats are available indoor, outdoor, and outdoor yet covered, where we were. Food didn't take too long, which was good since we had worked up an appetite. They seem to handle fried food pretty well, as we were happy with our fried seafood platter $26 with its sizable fish filet, handful of whole belly clams, maybe 5 sea scallops, pair of shrimp, all resting on a nice bed of fries. The cole slaw was okay, the seafood fresh and the coating crisp. The crab cake appetizer $16 two lump crab cakes sauteed in a honey-ginger sauce, served with sliced tomatoes and romaine lettuce was moist and tasty enough. The sweet potato fries $4.95 were more satisfying with a nice crispness despite lacking some of that natural sweet potato sweetness I so enjoy. I sampled a DC's pan seared salmon entree $20 and found the fish to be cooked just right. While another pair of friends didn't like their Seafood Paella $24 as they found it improperly tomato based and the seafood to be rather overcooked. Their side of fried clam strips $13 however were pretty meaty for clam strips. 20% gratuity was automatically included for our party of 6, but made VERY evident. For MA residents who have popped over to RI for the day - they charge 8% tax at eating and/or drinking establishments (that's an extra 1% tax on top of their normal state sales tax). So keep that in mind when calculating your tip, or you'll be shortchanging your server unintentionally. Their bathrooms inconveniently lacked a hook that is so useful for the purse/bag carrying population. 3.5 stars is about right.

I brought some out of state relatives here on a warm Wednesday night in August. Quitos is right on the water so on a beautiful night it tends to be busy. We were told an hour wait to sit outside or 25-30 minutes to sit inside. We opted for inside. The sun was setting, so we walked over to one of the benches on the water to enjoy the view as Quitos doesn't really have a waiting area, only a few chairs. We went back after 15 minutes to see how much longer and were berated as they were apparently looking for us. Now, they don't give out buzzers and I was there when she was looking for other people. They really don't call names very loudly at all. They need to come up with a better system. We had to wait for another available table while the hostess complained to us that people lingered too long after their meals and unfortunately they can't kick them out. Well ok then. I'll be sure to dine and dash. We were seated about ten minutes later inside. The waitress came by promptly for our drink order, but it did take a while to be delivered. Two in our party ordered fish and chips, one a bowl of chowder and I ordered a Caeser salad with grilled shrimp. There were no complaints on the fish and chips. The chowder was lukewarm, not hot. My salad was OK. We weren't wowed by anything. We did start to feel rushed towards the end of our meal and by that point the dining room was emptying out. I would return, but I won't be a regular.

This was my third time at this restaurant and probably my last. I always thought the food was good and it still is, but the service this time was horrible. The waitress took her sweet time getting to our table (it wasn't that busy) and was very curt when she did come. She never offered water or rolls, I did ask for water and got it, but never any rolls (not a big deal). I was finished my beer before she came back for our food order. The app came quickly but it was close to 40 minutes for the food order to come and by this time everyone else was just about finished their meals. I think the cooks went out for a drink. I had the lobster roll, and the fries were warm/cool, not hot, so maybe not the cooks fault. My wife ordered a bass, and I am not an expert but it sure looked like and tasted like halibut. We have always liked this place after a bike ride, but don't think we'll be back. If we were not with friends, I would have left before my meal ever came, and my wife knew it as she whispered to me "don't make a scene".

Went to Quito's tonight for a quick dinner. I had the swordfish, my wife had the linguine with white clam sauce. The swordfish was terrific, the linguine was ok, mainly because it was with chopped clams and the linguine was over cooked. But for $63, including tip, you can't beat this place for fresh seafood at a reasonable price.

Absolutely was a beautiful night last night and we decided to go here for dinner. Weather perfect! Ben, the bartender, very nice. After a bit do a wait for our table, as expected for this kind of night (Friday, summer, perfect weather) we got seated. Sat outside, vey lovely. That's all the good! Sadly, the bad: service was extremely slow. The waitress was inattentive, never even learned her name. My boyfriend ordered the fried seafood combo of full-bellied clams & scallops. Took a very long time to get our food. Then, They gave him clam strips which appeared to come from a food service! Took a while for waitress to come back to even check on us to tell her. Then, when we finished, tried to flag her down 3 times and could never make eye contact with her! And the place is very small so it shouldn't be hard! My dish was the special "Caribbean cod." It was very good! The view excellent. We've been here several times prior to this night but with so many other great choices, we may venture to them instead of returning. So, getting 3 stars.

Wasn't that impressed, I ordered a lobster paella. on the menu it said came with chourico rice and lobster. Well no chourico!! Don't call it paella if your serving lobster tail over rice!!!when I brought it to the waitresses attention she said sorry and would inform the cook. She then came out with a half of cup of rice and a one inch piece of chourico. What an embarrassment!! Sorry

Seafood Zippo is a great combination of scallops, little necks and shrimp. The steamers I n the clam boil are sweet and tender with just the right spices. I also like the Manhattan chowder. Its really consistent.

Delicious for all members of the party. Melt in your mouth fried calamari to start followed by more delicious selections. I had chicken parm which was tasty and tender. My husband have fish and chips and was very pleased. My father in law had the $30 seafood casserole. I thought that was quite pricey but he said it was worth every penny. The waitress was sweet, friendly and attentive! Nice visit!

So much potential but a complete let down from the warm beers to the service. So we came down with another couple and two kids for lunch we order beers came out warm the we all order chowders and apps and our meals everything put down In front of us at the same time so If the table wasn't small enough as it was now it's worse. If you order chowder and clam cakes and calamari along with shrimp cocktail and Stuffies maybe you want that stuff 1st.Now for the food our shrimp were frozen the fried seafood was bland salt and pepper when you pull it out of the frier is all it takes. So for a great spot on the water with so much going for it just a little attention to details is all it needs. And one last thing if your wait staff continues to pile stuff on the table without clearing empty bottle glasses and plates it's poor training that goes with bringing the whole order at once it's not good.

Fresh Seafood on Bristol harbor, with really great prices. I don't know what else to say? It's very busy during the summer but rightfully so. I recommend the pasta and seafood dishes but any of the fried seafood is great. Portions are huge and you will not leave hungry. Too many Seafood restaurants in RI charge way too much for local items, not Quito's! The indoor seating is limited, but the patio is a much better choice if its a nice day. Servers are so nice and very quick to get you anything you need. I could write more but like the menu this place speaks for itself!

I get the fried whole belly clams here. They are outstanding and the best in the state I think. They are crisp and not greasy and are very tasty! I'd give it a five, but it has plastic tables with paper napkins for it's hefty price. It also has a nice view of the harbor.

    1. Service was slow and timing of food being brought out was awful. We ordered our kids food right away to so they could keep occupied. Their plates came out quick. Unfortunately they we barely warm. After that everything took forever. My wife's salad came out, but I had to wait 15 more minutes for my raw bar clams and oysters, and that was only because I questioned the waitress. My daughter got a side dish Of their smashed potatoes because she didn't really like her initial dish, but when our food came out they forgot them. My wife ordered the chowder sampler, Which she loved. I got one of their summer specials - fish dish with peaches and peppers. Can't tell you what kind of fish because it was bland, even with the peaches. The steamed broccoli and smashed potatoes were swimming in butter. It is very rare for me not to finish a meal because I didn't like it, but that's exactly what happened. My daughter took one bite of her smashed potatoes and pushed it away. She was ready to cry. If not for my wife's food I would have given the place one star. Specially after seeing the bill.

I typically don't head down to Bristol but when I do... I go to Quito's. Quito's is a quaint restaurant located right on the water. Now that the weather is getting a little chilly there was a plastic wind guard out on the patio which took a little chill out of the evening. I ended up sitting inside the actual restaurant which is tiny but still has a great view of the water. To start we went for the oysters on the half shell. $10 for a half dozen. Not the best price of all time but certainly not the worst and we were in Bristol. So, we still went for it. The oysters came out pretty quickly which was great. They came accompanied by horseradish and cocktail sauce. The oysters were fresh and all a girl could ask for. For my entrée I went with the grilled Cod. This came with smashed potatoes and broccoli. The smashed potatoes kind of looked like warm potato salad, it was something different but pretty good, and the broccoli was standard fare. I liked the grilled Cod, it has a sweet smoky kind of taste to it. Only reason this review is lacking a star was for the slow, but friendly service and the smell of cleaning solution which overpowered the dining room. Over all I'd most definitely come again and I will try to take advantage of the outdoor seating next time.

This review would have been three stars were it not for the awful manager. The food was decent to good seafood fare, fresh, and priced average for Bristol. Our waitress was awesome, very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Unfortunately, this does not make up for the worst experience I have ever had with an owner/manager: upon asking the bartender to redo one of our drinks (we all had the same drink in a large party, all good except one), the manager stormed over to our table, wanting to recheck our IDs (all well past the legal age), and began barking at us. NEVER had I EVER had such a rude, uncourteous experience. No "how can I help/make this better"... instead, blaming the table for her kitchen's issue. The neighboring tables were shocked as we were, and the poor friendly wait-staff and bartender winced as if this was not an uncommon experience. Some of the locals even came up to us afterwards to talk about the experience. We heard from them (supposedly) that the "manager", younger and much less mature than her staff, was the owner's daughter and that this indeed is not an uncommon experience. Until the owner can teach her daughter some respect and how the customer comes first, I will be spreading the word to avoid this establishment. Moreover, I do not want to support a manager/owner that treats its employees with the same attitude given to us on what was supposed to be a day of celebration.

Had a great lunch there, yesterday. Lobster roll, side of fried clams, and salad with grilled salmon. Plenty of food, nicely presented and prepared, and really good. Lobster roll is wicked awesome. Highly recommend.

Despite all its service quirks they have really good seafood and a relaxing view to die for. We visit Bristol at least 6-8 times a year now and Quito's has always been our first stop.

I love this place. It reminds of the old fish market / clamshacks of years ago on Cape Cod. I have to admit I have not been to the restaurant proper and sat by the smelly docks. What we always do is go to the to go portion and order the full belly clams and scallop rolls then go to pocket park right next door. Go get a blanket from the car and have a picnic at the park. If you're lucky the little kids will be trying to fly kites. After that go across the street and get your ice cream. NOW, that is a night out, my friend.

Quito's has been a favorite for a number of years. Our last trip -- total disappointment. Took my 2 daughters and one of their friends for dinner. Sat on the patio. Wind swept up, turning cold. We asked a waitress to put down one of the clear plastic "walls" -- she said she would. After a while, I asked again, we were literally turning blue. She said she'd asked other patrons (sitting away from the breeze) and they didn't want it down, so no go! I said her job was to make sure patrons, if uncomfortable, would be -- and she taught my teen daughters a real lesson -- that apparently, grown up "likes" are more important than young people's comfort. NO TIP. And unfortunately, probably no return. Their food, their location are wonderful. But we were regulars, tipped well, and apparently, not valued.

It's one of our stops on our way home from the Cape. Consistently good food, and a good amount of options on the menu. They fill up quick, so luckily we got here just when they had opened. Get the clam cakes, they're just a decadent treat that you can't find in many places. Service is good and food comes fast. Drinks are cheap too, and very summery. Will be back next year.

Quito's is a pretty solid restaurant. It's on the casual side, certainly not any high brow sea food here. The clam cakes are OK (a bit dense), not the best in town. I've enjoyed the mussels and fried lobster. If there is ever an issue, things are just slightly overcooked but tasty. Prices are fair and the atmosphere is laid back. I will definitely return The location is amazing. They have a lovely outdoor patio which is a great spot to grab a bite in the summer.

Cute and tiny. Right on the water. Good menu and food. Worth the drive to Bristol. I heard the outside area is nice in the summer. Hope to check it out then.

I read about Quito's in Bay Magazine. It was a great lunch after walking at Colt State Park and the weather was perfect. It is very small and unassuming but the view is amazing. I started with the new england clam chowder and clam cakes. I appreciated I could order the clamcakes one, six or a dozen. The clam chowder was average but the clam cakes were very good. I split the ceasar salad with lobster with my dining partner. It was delicious and hit the spot. The service was timely and attentive. Definitely will go back again.

Incredibly slow service. Called ahead to ask if there was a wait - told that there was none. When we get there - 30 minute wait! Okay things happen, so our party of 8 waits and we get seated and orders. Appetizers come out quickly and they were tasty. Lobster bisque had a lot of lobster, and the raw shellfish platter was very good. Shrimp cocktail was okay , though for $1.75 per shrimp they should be huge, but these were your average size. We also got a bottle of white wine to have with dinner. Then came the real wait - we ordered at 7:15 but entrees came out at 8:30! Our wine had long since run dry. An hour later and server comes to tell us they ran out of watermelon for the salmon special - ran out of watermelon?! How does that happen? The whole reason I ordered the dish was the watermelon. Too late to change so I wound up with a piece of salmon drizzled with a balsamic reduction - it needed something else to compliment it (like watermelon) but all I got was a slice of lemon. So they give us some fried clam strips (mind you if I wanted fried something I would have ordered it) - hardly makes up for the wait or not telling me there was no watermelon. And then they made us pay for them! Food was okay but hardly made up for the long wait and the screw up , then making us pay for the clam strips. This was a big disappointment.

Went here for lunch last Sunday. A nice little place to sit near the water and eat. Had a quahog, a little dry but flavor was amazing. Shared the whole belly seafood platter with my fiance. It was yummy, but if it wasn't for us going for a light lunch it woild have only been enough for one person. We'd definitely go back and try other items on the menu. Service was good!

My wife and I have been here a couple of times over the past years. We never leave looking forward to coming back. The food is average, drinks are below average, and the service is average at best. The indoor seating is area is small but the facility is clean overall.

I've heard a lot about Quito's so I finally decided to give it a try. The food was great but the service was abysmal which accounts for the overall three star review. We were seated promptly outside upon arrival, however.... 1. We waited over fifteen minutes before we saw our server for the first time. There were a lot of servers going to and fro and the patio was only half-full (if that) so it wasn't like they were busy...after ten minutes I grabbed the attention of a server to ask where ours was, and it took another five minutes for her to come to our table. Sigh. 2. We gave our order and it was almost ten minutes before we saw our drinks. Sigh. 3. We had to endure a waitress yelling into her cell phone (at her boyfriend?) about how she works double-shifts to pay the bills and if he didn't blah blah blah. Sigh. The good news is that our dinners were excellent. We had white clam chowder, fish and chips, and clams casino and all of the food was delicious. It sorta made up for the terrible service but I hesitate to go back knowing I could be in for more of the same. Oh Quito's, you had a chance to make us fans for life and now I'm just on the fence. I'll try you again...one day. Sigh.

Caesar salad was fresh but dressing comes in a plastic peel off container, had the lobster bisque cup size and there was only one tiny piece of lobster in it, fish and chips entree was lightly battered and fresh, but could have used more seasoning. Drinks are fun and delicious, I had the bloody mary. Location is awesome with view of marina and all the boats. Easy, laid-back outdoor patio with nice breeze.

Sure there are debates about exactly what was on the first Clams Casino. BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT? I DON't CARE! In, 2013, I expect at minimum, whole clam, fresh red pepper's, bacon, and best, no bread crumb.... not a plain baked Clam with Bacon.

  • Cut An. R.

I guess you're paying the $14.95 (basically $15 plus) for the view and not the fish and chip platter (served in a basket) and a beer (which was okay). Everything else wasn't that great to deserve 4 stars. Tip: BYOB because you will need it towards the end of your meal. Also, ask for extra anything before your server leaves for drinks.

Met up with family here back in 2009 and have been coming back regularly since. I've never been disappointed. The steamers in garlic are perfect. The little necks on the half shell or in the clam bake are fresh and perfect. Even the corn and potatoes in the clam bake are done perfectly(most places you end up with overcooked, tough corn and hard potatoes). Any of their pan seared dishes are the perfect combination of flavorful seafood and light seasonings that go perfectly with a refreshing adult summer beverage (may I recommend a dark and stormy?). Some may scoff at the plastic outdoor furniture, but the people waiting for a table aren't waiting to sit inside. They're waiting for an outdoor spot to open up because the views of the harbor combined with the soft sea breeze and great food make for the perfect New England setting. You might be able to find better food or a later deck area or nicer furniture elsewhere, but you'll never find a better combination of the three. I've been coming here and bringing friends for nearly 4 years now. It's just that good.

I recently spent a shimmering summer afternoon here and sat at an outdoor table that was about 6 feet from the bay. Enjoyed super fresh, icy cold little necks on the half shell and a lobster roll filled with the sweetest lobster meat I have ever tasted. All of this was washed down with an incredible crisp French Rose that came in a beautifully shaped bottle. (Only $24 for a full bottle!) The decor is no-frills outdoor patio, but the seafood and waterfront view are among the best in Rhode Island. To avoid waiting in a long line, the best time to go is mid-afternoon...which can work for late lunch/early dinner.

I have loved this place for years, but our late lunch today was a disaster. The food arrived 45 minutes after we ordered it, and it was cold. We ordered the calamari appetizer, which was deposited on our table by a busboy at the same time as the rest of our food. He set down our lobster bisque with his thumbs inside the bowls, sans plates or oyster crackers. He took our empty iced tea glasses, promising refills, and disappeared for ten minutes. After we finally got the attention of another waitress, they scrambled to replace our food. But it took so long that we had to pack it to go. I think they need to do some training.

Best fish & chips. Huge portions and on a nice day, the seating outside is so worth the wait. The parking can be tricky on a weekend, but just get there early. Service is great and everything I have had there is yummy.

I've been here 3 times now and the food and drinks have always been just OK. Maybe it's because the menu just isn't my style- lots of fried food, burgers, etc. Tried the crab cakes, way too oily for my taste. The place is obviously a hot spot in Bristol - every time I've been here it's been slammed and we've had to wait a while for a table. The harbor views on the patio are a big draw, but obviously it can get really windy so keep that in mind. Personally for the money, I'd rather get an insanely delicious home cooked meal to-go from Beehive right across the street, and take it over to the park with a picnic blanket and bottle of something, and enjoy the beautiful ocean views without feeling rushed in the least ;) ...then maybe wander over to The Daily Scoop and get a cone to top off the indulgences. Mmmm.....

Hands down, best fried clams I have ever had. The clams were so incredibly fresh and sweet, and they were not stingy at all about the portion size. I think the price is perfect for this! Seating was a little limited, and it was a bit chilly sitting outside, but that food was fantastic! The service was a little off, and it took a while for us to get the attention of our waitress, but the food made up for it. The coleslaw isn't the best - it just feels very mayo-y, but the fries were pretty good. I'd definitely come back here if I was craving fried whole belly clams.

Enjoyed a good lunch on this lovely Spring Sunday. We were in the mood for some fish and chips, and found this on yelp! It was the perfect prelude to our walk along the water. We initially tried to sit outside, but it was a little too cool and breezy, so we took a table in the dining area. (Smart move for another reason- - our initial waitress outside ignored us, and we just got too cold and inpatient to sit there!) Inside, however, our service was very good, and I have no complaints! :) Started off with crabcakes, which were delicious- - filled with chunks of crab, just how I like it! My friend ordered a cup of chowder which was good. Fish and chips and clam strip sandwich hit the spot! Overall, we enjoyed our lunch!

I watched this place evolve from a rinky-dink fish market, to a fantastic harbor side restaurant. Quito's is family owned and operated...and I am a "sucka" for this type of owner/operator business-over the chain stores. Great food-Great service-period. As if that was not enough, you are surrounded by Bristol Harbor and adjacent to Independence Park. This week is the pre-4th festivities with free nightly concerts at the park. You can check out the bands here --http://www.july4thbristolri.com/concert_series.html Great food, free concerts, gorgeous backdrop-Enjoy!

We love this little place. Great food, great service, and great views. Just reopened for the season, and the sun FINALLY came back today, so we went down for a late lunch. My husband had clam chowdah, which he rated 'fantastic' (and he has tried a lot of chowdah!). We both had fish tacos which were tasty, asked them to warm the shells up a bit and they did so without hesitation. Drinks were strong and the bartender was super nice. Come here if you are in Bristol this spring/summer!!

What have I been waiting for? An east bay resident for 2 years now I can't believe yesterday was my first stop at Quitos. The crab cake was light and flavorful and not loaded with breading like a lot of places do. What stood out even more were the amazing slaw and the decadent salted caramel gelato. I will definitely be back! Maybe because it was midweek lunch, but the service was perfect. The place was crowded but Definitely not slow like some mentioned below,

This is my first visit to Quitos in seven years. I had the Fried calamari and whole clam bellies. The food was flavorless. The clams were not full bellies yet little pieces thrown together in a batter and deep fried. the calamari was decent yet still lacked any flavor at all. they should have added hot peppers to the calamari. The waitress was absolutely horrendous. She put the wrong meals in front of people. 15 minute wait for a glass of water. She never came back to the table to find out if everything was okay. Beware beware beware!! the bathrooms in rest areas are clean up and smell better than this pigsty. There has got to be a better place in Bristol for seafood then this ripoff.

I mentioned in my 2010 review that we would go back again - and we did in April 2014. 3 stars is still appropriate, although for my experience I'd give it 2. Hubby had the salmon, and was satisfied with it. I had a side grilled fish (haddock), which was ok, and had a side veg. They like to put garlic in everything, even steamed broccoli, but you could ask for it plain, which I did. It is casual, and on the bay, next to the park. I would be ok with not returning, if it's up to me. Perhaps it's more appropriate for fried seafood customers.

A Bristol institution, which has been around since the 1940's-50's, Quito's is as good as it gets for fresh seafood in Bristol. I've only stopped here for lunch a few times and once for take out and everything I've tried has been fantastic. I've had the clam strip roll a few times and although it was the first time trying it, I'm a huge fan of them now! They're raw bar is fresh and tasty. Service is super friendly and quick. Along with Sip N Dip, Dewolf and a few other establishments in Bristol, Quito's is a must stop. Only thing I didn't get was they wouldn't let you order a house salad or some raw clams or oysters to go? FYI - nothing beats getting a table outside during lunch, getting some raw clams and oysters and sipping on a Narraganset , while watching boats float by in Bristol Harbor!

Stopped here after reading the reviews on Yelp. There is a nice view of the water and I think its cool that you can sit outside on a porch. The service was friendly but not fast. I thought the food was pricey for the quality - the food was 2 and 1/2 stars at best. The clam cakes were the best part of our meal. If the food had been amazing I don't think I would have minded their prices (they are reasonable for Bristol). If you're looking for a waterfront bar that serves food, I would recommend this place. If you want a waterfront restaurant that serves drinks, there are some nicer ones in the area.

I find it the best fried seafood on the east bay. When ever we are in the mood its our first choice. It gets very busy on great nights and weekends so go early or expect to wait for an outside table.

My mom, a fried clam aficionado, claims these are the best fried clams in the area. I love the steamers and the nice view of the water. The side order of garlic sauteed spinach is amazing and I always get it with my entree. I got the lobster roll last time and it was just ok-- I think it was on a hoagie roll, which was too dense, and the lobster had dill mixed into it. There was not a lot of lobster either..I have gotten the pan seared fish sandwich though and that was better. I would be happy with just the steamers, spinach, and cole slaw which is also amazing..on the whole, the food here is very high quality. It is a beautiful location--there is a nice walkway along the water to an ice cream place, and other restaurants which look good, but I never try because we always come here! Bristol is sort of a pain to drive through, but Quito's makes it worth it. As you head into the fall, you can get shipyard pumpkin beer with a brown sugar rim. :-) I'd like some of that now actually...

Food is delicious but the prices have been going up, up, up! Even the beer - I think I paid $5 for a Corona last time I went here. The seafood casserole is awesome - stuffed with fish, scallops, shrimp, and lobster. Very rich and filling. The littlenecks in the white sauce are awesome too. Sit outside if you can. Usually a long wait but you can walk in the park next to it or grab a drink somewhere else while you wait.

We've been coming to Quito's for many years. The location and views can't be beat, especially on a nice summer day. Maybe we caught them on an off night, but we were very disappointed today. Most striking, the service was abyssmal. They were moderately busy but well staffed in terms of wait staff. Yet we barely ever saw them. And when we asked for anything, it was like they were doing us a big favor. And when we were ready to leave and the line to be seated was out the door, they were no where to be found (I had to get up and ask the hostess for our waitress and our check). And they had the gall to add a 20% tip because our party had more than 6 people. On other visits, we liked the food, standard clam shack food, but good. Today the food was okay. But it wasn't. Clam chowder? Good complexity and depth of flavor, but a little too thick and gummy. Crispy Asian style shrimp? Good idea, nice flavors, delicious sauce. Barely warm. Butternut ravioli? Perfect al dente pasta, delicious filing and cream sauce (though on the thin side). But also barely warm, and not with the browned butter sauce that was on the menu. Fried scallops? Sweet and tender, but also barely warm. Clam shack food should be sizzling hot... My kid's french fries and spaghetti and marinara sauce (quite delicious BTW) were also barely warm. Hopefully this is an aberration and the kitchen and/or wait staff didn't have their "A" game tonight. We've had too many good meals here not to give them another chance, but even so, tonight's meal was a real let down.

Wow. Ive always marvelled at how the ocean state with its drive to enshrine calamari as the state appetizer, has a dearth of good seafood restaurants. But sometimes you can find places in line with the states reputation. As far as ambience goes, this place cant be beat. Its literally on the water. you can see it from your table. For food, its all great. All the classic seafood favorites are here. From the fried food, to fresh oysters and the more complex fare like grilled fish. I had the fish and chips and tried a little of the grilled fish which retained some lovely smokiness. It is a tad pricey. But for the portions and quality, you really cant complain. Get here stat if you need some seafood.

Make no doubt about it - if you don't mind leaving the restaurant a few billfolds lighter than before you came in then what awaits is a dining and visual feast. Located in the sleepy town of Bristol, Quito's is attached to a small seafood market and quite easy to miss unless you know it's there. Once you've made your way inside though, it feels like you're dining on a boat and as I've said before, anything is cooler when you're doing it on a boat. Go in the early evening. As it's right on the water, the view of the bay at sunset is naturally breathtaking. The ambience is relaxed and refreshingly so. It's not dinner by candle light but it doesn't pretend to be. Nevertheless, still great for casual dining with friends, with family, with your girl/boy, and/or all of the above. Of course, such a fantastic setting demands an equally impressive culinary experience and I have to say for the most part Quito's went beyond my expectations. I would encourage trying anything and everything but we particularly enjoyed the clam cakes, (a great opener), lobster roll (less so), and lobster raviolli (definitely). The specialty drink menu is appealing at first glance although the sangria was a little too light for my taste. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. Overall, loved it and I can't wait for the outdoor patio to open for summer dining.

Great service Great location Great views Good food Chris had the Fish & chips & liked it a lot. I had the Crab cake sandwich and was surprised by how small the crab cake was but it did have a nice flavor. There was a little more filler than I normally like, but it wasn't bad. I probably would try something different next time but I would definitely go back if I'm in the area again.

Went to Quito's today for lunch with a few friends. We were pretty excited since we had heard good things and it was a beautiful day to be on the water. We arrived and there was a 20 minute wait. We didn't mind because it was beautiful out and there was a craft festival going on that we visited while waiting. When we were seated, we had a great waitress who was very friendly. We ordered and our appetizers came which were delicious. The clam chowder, oysters, and quahogs were all delicious and made us even more excited to get our entrees. My lobster roll was fabulous, but the cheeseburger, crab cake sandwhich, and fish and chips were all lackluster. The crab cake was the thinnest patty I had ever seen and when you took a bite of the sandwhich, it was all lettuce and bun. Very disappointing. The fish and chips were soggy and the french fries they came with were cold. It seemed as if all of our plates were sitting under a heating lamp for 10 or 20 minutes which would have explained the long delay between our appetizers coming out and our entrees. The atmosphere was great, but there are many other restaurants on the water in Bristol with much better food. A nice place for some drinks and appetizers on the water, but not much else.

This is a four star review because I believe it deserves better than three, but if half's were possible this would be 3.5 stars. 1 for the food, 1 for the service, 1 for location and a the half would go to the prices which are on the higher side. Went on the Friday after the 4th of July, so Bristol was still quite busy. We've been wanting to try this place forever, don't know what made us wait until the busiest week of all in Bristol to give it a shot but it wasn't so bad. The wait for a table was 45 - 60 minutes so we had some drinks and sat outside on one of the benches and watched as people who had been told the same as us began complaining after only waiting 10 minutes, HELLO PEOPLE! Did you think they were kidding when the said 45 - 60 minutes? I'll never understand the general public I guess... After all the excitement we were sat at a table under the tent outside (might have been about an hour wait but we really didn't keep track). This place has a nice view of Bristol Harbor and you are seated right on the side of a Fishing Boat, this just screams fresh seafood. The service was good and our waiter was polite. We never went without drinks and although they were busy the food came out quickly. We started with the clam chowder (one Manhattan and one New England) both were delicious with a decent amount of clams and cooked to perfection... I hate when the potatoes aren't cooked enough. Also we tried the calamari, it was good but we have had better. It seemed fresh though and came with a garlic/oil sauce and marinara sauce. We would order it again but with extra hot peppers, there was not enough of them. For meals my wife ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon which was on the special menu and I went with the Fried Clam plate based on other Yelp reviews. Both meals were delicious but my Clams were WAY better... but that's just my opinion. Even the coleslaw that came with mine was real good. The bill came to around $100 or so with a 20ish% tip... not exactly cheap but we knew this going in. (looked at the menu online beforehand) This didn't include the drinks while we waited... that was probably another $20-$30. And now for the not so positives.... One thing I was a little confused about is why they need 3 girls to stand by the door to take names for seating... couldn't one do this? Maybe even 2, but 3? Seems like a waste to me. That and they were turning people away at about 8:30 saying the wait was too long and they close at 9. This would have been fine but while we were eating there were empty tables that could have been filled by those people that were turned away. While this didn't really have anything to do with my visit I would have been rather upset if it were me who came to eat and was sent away... I'm sure the owners don't have any idea this goes on because even the waitstaff looked confused as to why people were being sent away. Other than that everything during our visit lead us to definitely want to return here... on a not so busy weekend. Hopefully the people that were sent away decide to give it another try. Maybe they should consider staying open a little later during a holiday weekend. It would be better for business.

Without the sign out in front of the entrance to the parking lot you would never know Quito's is there. They have outdoor seating and even from the inside you can still manage to get a great view of the sunset coming down over the Bristol Harbor. They have a surprisingly extensive menu and the focus is obviously seafood. Fried, grilled, with pasta, without, you have many different options to choose from and if seafood is not your thing there are other things on the menu as well. The New England clam chowder was great, the caesar salad was okay, and the lobster scampi was enormous. There was no problem finding the lobster in this dish as the entire top of the pasta plate was loaded with it. So much so that picking out the lobster and having just a small portion of the pasta left me full to the point where I could not go any further.

Seafood here is fresh and delicious. The service is friendly, attentive and helpful. Great place to relax by the water. While we couldn't sit in the outside area, inside was just as nice with the windows open. In a way, it was nicer than outside because less crowded. The only criticisms I have are: the beer selection is not too great (plus the drafts weren't available for some reason), the mixed drinks are geared towards the sweet, and the sangria tasted like a wine cooler (but I generally have both of these complaints), and the ladies room causes a line. If they could improve the bar offerings and resolve the bathroom issue (how about unisex bathrooms?), I would rate this five stars for a laid back place by the water serving great, fresh seafood.

Went Quito's last night, they had a clam boil on there specials. I asked the waitress dose the boil came with a onion and she said no it didn't because the owner of the restaurant doesn't like onions. Bad business, give the customer what they want!!!!

Fresh, perfectly cooked seafood. They also have tons of gluten free options (I have celiac). the fact they cooked their fries in a separate fryer made my day! I had sweet potaote fries for the first time in 10 years! And, they have gluteen free items clearly identified on the menu. It was busy, but worth the wait. Also, there is a great waterfront view. My husband and I will be back next time we are visiting Rhode Island.

Love this place, this is one of our favorites for business lunches during the summer. You're sitting right on the harbor facing the water. There is also an inside area for crappier and busier days. It's not as classy looking as Goff's (or whatever they call it now) down the street but the food is 200% better. I've only had the burgers and the clam strips. The burgers are good, and the clam strips are awwwwwwesome. I get them almost every time I go. It stinks they're closed in the winter (even though they have inside seating) but I guess I can forgive them and wait until summer.

We returned to Quitos after a 2 year hiatus. This little gem is certainly more than a beer and clam roll joint I seemed to remember. We got there around 7:00 on a Friday night. I expected a lengthy wait but was surprised to hear we would have a table in about 10 minutes. We headed to the small outdoor bar which consisted of 4 stools and 2 bartenders. Embracing the waterfront ambiance I ordered 2 dark and Stormy's. They didn't have the fixins so we headed inside to the small inside bar. The bartender happily made us our rummy delights just as the hostess called our name. We were led to an outdoor table directly at the entrance and feet away from the hostess station. We graciously declined the table as we were not in any rush. We enjoyed our drinks and were shortly led to our table inside. We were greeted by our server quickly and ordered more drinks and our food. For an appetizer we had a half dozen oysters and clams casino. The oysters were fresh and briny. They were obviously just recently shucked and delicious. My friends, the clams casino at Quitos is the best I ever had. Nice big little neck with a moist bread crumb dressing and BIG piece of thick cut bacon all cooked perfectly. I am always amazed how a restaurant can screw up such a simple thing but Quitos nails it. I was considering ordering another. For entrees I had tuna grilled rare and my wife had grilled lobster tails. Both were served with smashed potatoes and broccoli. The tuna was seasoned just right and grilled to a nice rare. The lobster tails were also just right. We skipped desert and were out the door for around $100.00 with tip. A little spendy for the atmosphere but very satisfying. I will recommend this spot in the future but be prepared to wait as the Bristol waterfront is a hopping area on weekend nights in the summer.

My husband and I were visiting Bristol for the first time this weekend and came across Quitos. We thought it was delicious and very fresh seafood! Loved the calamari and the pan-seared Cod! The atmosphere was perfect, right on the water. We will definitely visit again!

I came here once and had the fish n chips. They were amazing. I went back about a month later and got them again. This time, they were really greasy and not as good. I recommended, to the people I came with, order them as well. We all felt sick after. I don't know what changed.

Ok...not as good as they think it is...clams are good...but evidently you have to clean them yourself...stuffie ok. Tarter sauce mediocher...oysters were good...crowded...no ambience...pricy

Great clam chowder, fresh amazing lobster. I've been here a few times and have not been disappointed once. There's usually a bit of a wait, but the last two times I've gone there, they told us it'd be about an hour and ended up being about 20 minutes. In the meantime, we grabbed some drinks from the bar and drank them outside. My mom and dad just ordered steamed lobsters and, since they're from Illinois, weren't used to fresh lobster at all. It came in the shell which was messy but fun, and didn't taste like what they were used to (they thought fresh lobster was a lot more mild) but enjoyed it. Great seafood, great price, friendly staff.

This restaurant should re-name itself as Murphy's law, because it seems whatever can go wrong did go wrong during my dinner there. I took my 73 year old mom out for dinner. With a pending storm approaching and being faced with the prospect of no electricity for several days, we thought it would be nice to have a great meal and take our minds off the weather. We knew what we wanted. Fried Clams. Quito's does them well, and of all the places we could have chosen, we both had enjoyed this place in the past and always try to support local business....even though they are on the expensive side for seafood in this area. STRIKE ONE, the waitress informs us they are out of Fried clams. We take a second glance at the menu and settle on a seafood zuppa and a lobster casserole, with a side order of clamcakes. The clamcakes are generous with the amount of clam in them, but a little greasier than your usual clamcake, but still tasty, although on the smallish side. My seafood zuppa came out and was very good. Piping hot, with probably a full lb. of pasta, Then we get to STRIKE TWO My mothers lobster casserole .....was missing in action. Instead they gave her a seafood casserole which LOOKED good....but she isn't crazy about scallops or shrimp, so we sent it back to be corrected. The sides were mashed potatoes and broccoli. 15 minutes later the waitress brings her the lobster casserole. Which is Ice cold below the first 1/8 inch of crumb topping. And ohhh btw whoops sorry, yep we are out of broccoli. STRIKE THREE. At this point my mother has had it. She just wants to go home, and we get it to go, she'll actually COOK it before eating it. I also wrapped mine up....at this point I was so annoyed at the lack of decent service (there was only one other table that was occupied at the time) and I was also tired of hovering over my food protecting it from the fly that kept looking for a landing strip. The waitress took 10 dollars off the menu. With a 10 buck tip it still came out to 70.00 which included one glass of wine and a soda. The next time I take my mom out.....I'll make sure she gets what she wants, and won't "settle" for second best. Because , at least on this trip. Quito's was second best to any OTHER restaurant choice I could have made.

I went to Quito's for the first time back in May. I went to college in Bristol and had always heard great things about the place but I had never been. One day I was studying in the local park, got hungry and decided to give the damn place a try. I live for quahogs, I crave them and I dream of them. So I obviously ordered a quahog and a cup of their clam chowder. The quahogs was great, very fresh and tasty and I spicened her up a bit. The chowder was also very good. Rhode Island really has some of the best seafood anywhere. Quito's is a great little place right on the water that is worth giving a try.

Wonderful place with a beautiful view of Bristol Harbor. The place was lively, but the wait staff kept up impressively and was polite, friendly, and efficient. I had a delicious New England Chowder that was simply divine; creamy and rich. I paired it with a Chicken Caesar Salad, which was also very good, with plenty of dressing provided on the side. My wife had a Scallop Roll, which has lightly breaded scallops on a hoagie roll. It was overflowing with super-tender scallops that put a huge smile on her face. We were glad we stopped here. Bristol is a very charming town. Something to note, however, is that we were traveling through on a Monday. Most other restaurants were closed for lunch or the day. Be warned. =) We didn't drive, but noticed parking was a little tight in their small lot--however, it's a small town and a quick-but-scenic walk from any of the numerous main streets/parking areas.

Does anyone want to spend $95 dollars to sit at a picnic table? If you do head down to Quito's in Bristol. It gets two stars because the food is not bad and the view is o.k. however it is horribly overpriced the service is marginal at best and the atmosphere is similar to a seafood shack.

I love Quito's - now I've said it... The seafood is excellent. Typically, I go for a combo plate like clams and scallops. We usually all end up trying each other's meals - it's all so good. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Love the view there too - just an added bonus. I just wish I could be there for Memorial Day weekend...

You know the seafood is fresh when the restaurant is located on the backside of a fish market. we ordered the scallop roll and shrimp wanton. The scallops were fresh and good. My wife thought the shrimp tasted like "more, more, more". We sat outside with a view of the sailboats in the bay. It was a nice place for a sea food lunch.

An excellent place to go and sit outside on a gorgeous summer day, have a stuffie, a margarita, and eat some fresh seafood. What a beautiful view! Everyone who I was with loved their food! The place was hoppin' but our waitress was attentive and pleasant. My one complaint is that the lettuce in the salad I ordered was warm and kind of wilted (mind you there was nothing warm placed on top of the salad to cause this). I was hoping for something refreshing by ordering a salad, but kind of got something "meh". I guess that's what I get for not ordering a seafood entree at a seafood place?

  • Nicole R.

I have never had better clam chowder from a sit-down restaurant! The location is beautiful, most of the seats are window side and in the summer the windows are open and there is outdoor seating. The bay view is excellent and a wonderful date night eating place! The prices are fair, and since Quito's doubles as a fish market the prices are actually market price with no middle man. One of my favorite seafood restaurants ever!

  • Jen N.

Outstanding seafood! I ordered the seafood medley scampi and added the lobster for $4. There was a HUGE mound of lobster on top! There were 8 giant scallops, 8 huge prawns, calamari, muscles and clams. It was a ridiculous amount of food. But it was so so good! My kid's had the clam chowder, which was outstanding and my husband had a fish special. Service was excellent. We will be returning again for sure!

The view wasn't the best in Bristol, and for what we got on our plate, we paid far too much. The service was great. They were out of lobster tails on a Sunday afternoon in August :-/

Perfect summer restaurant -- on the water, outdoor seating in the shade, or indoors where it's air conditioned. Friendly, efficient service: they notice when you need your beverage refilled and NOTHING is ever a problem. Best ever fried clam roll: tasty, crunchy clams with a perfectly toasted roll. Excellent cole slaw and fries that are crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Generous hot entrees as well and a killer fish sandwich. There's a cosy fireplace inside for when the weather gets chilly. This place is New England at its best.

This restaurant is one of the very best Bristol has to offer. Whether you're in the mood for clam cakes and french fries, or if you are in the mood for some fine seafood, Quito's has it all. It's outside dinning patio is set right on the harbor of Bristol, so the scenery is beautiful. Located right next to Independence Park in the heart of downtown Bristol, you can either walk up to the front, place a takeout order and be on your way or you can go and have a full sit down dinner while overlooking the bay and the best Bristol has to offer. The service staff is always nice and pleasant, the food is delicious, and the location plus scenery make it a very relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. I personally recommend the Lobster Ravioli. It's out of this world! Once the warm weather hits every year, my wife and I frequent this restaurant throughout the spring and summer.

What a great surprise for us. We got there 3 pm in the afternoon on Sunday and the place was packed. We sat at an outdoor table overlooking Bristol Bay. Beautiful. The Steamers, Lobster Rolls, Clamcakes, Salmon- was all excellent. And fresh! Great Service. A real find.

I'm astounded. I lived across from Independence Park (alias Doggy Doo Park,) for a while and then around Bristol culminating in about 4 years of residence there. I'd always heard that Quito's was a tourist trap. The food was supposedly a take out joint like any greasy beach shack. I'd been told to avoid it. Friday, the 6th we left Blithewold to get lunch. Mom misses Bristol so any chance she gets to go there she takes with gusto. So we drove there wondering what was around. I mean there's always the BHOP. But Dad is not an Italian food fan and the visit to Blithewold called for something a little more upscale that a pizza joint anyway. We drove down Hope Street looking for parking (HA HA! it was a sunny day, yeah right,) then took a right to go to Thames St. past Redelfson's. I did attempt to get my Mother to go to Redelfson's but I knew having Dad would make it out of the question; too expensive and too frou frou. So, with Dad becoming peeved we quickly decided that Quito's would be the place to eat lunch. The day was sunny but windy and only 3 outside deck tables were set up. We'd have to endure Dad getting irritated and unpleasant so we went inside and waited. It was very crowded but we didn't wait long for a table to open for us. The dining room inside is small and there is a bar to the right of the door. It has a casual classy style and the inside is very basic yet smart. A nice touch is extra paper napkins at the table. The food exceeded expectations. My Mother and I were very surprised at the quality. We'd ordered the Fried Fish Sandwich - $7.95 (haddock), the Pan-Seared Fish Sandwich - $8.95 (cod) and the Lobster Roll - $17.95. We ordered unsweetened iced tea and a glass of whole milk to drink. As always my Father asked for skim milk but they told him they only had whole. I was glad they had milk. The fish was delicious! The pan-seared fish was tasty and brown and crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. The batter on the fried fish was delicate and not greasy either. The buns were very attractive, medium weight and looked to maybe be locally made? My Father's Lobster roll looked delicious, not gobbed with mayonnaise but he offered no samples to either my Mother nor I which was fine. Mom and I shared a bite of each other's sandwiches. They had coleslaw as a side and I chose the french fries. The coleslaw was too sweet. My Mother added a squirt of lemon that came with the tea to try to cut down on the sweetness. It did not help much. My fries were so hot that when I added the malt vinegar (which I didn't have to ask for, it was in the condiment organizer,) they steamed. They were delicious and not over or under done. The sandwiches were reasonably priced but usually you'd get both coleslaw and fries with a fish sandwich at most other places. The lobster salad roll was ridiculously priced. My Mother grumbled she could get 3 to 4 lobsters with that kind of money and make her own at home AND feed the family. My father has no concept of money anymore and didn't grumble at all. He enjoyed the roll and had two glasses of milk. Astounded that we'd never been to Quito's in the years that we'd lived there, we left satisfied but not willing to go back and pay the prices even if the food was delicious. Maybe it was just being shocked that we expected a clam shack with a grease feast instead of the very nice food we got there. Both my mother and I regretted that we hadn't ordered the scallop roll as the ocean scallops seemed to be generously mounded on top of a roll that was similar to the one my Father had gobbled up. This is a place that I would take my parents to if I was a Brown University student and wanted my parents to try some native dishes and good seafood. The dining room is a tight fit and loud but was very popular that day. We didn't even look at the "shellfish market" as Dad has a habit of scuttling out of restaurants as soon as he's had a chance to pay the check. Crowds of people particularly loud crowds make him anxious. And this was a very tight crowded loud area.

So my best girl and I were looking for some seafood yesterday, we thought we'd try Quito's, it was chilly outside so we ate inside, we both ordered the fried clam roll. I got the cole slaw side and she got the fries for a side. The waitress was very nice and attentive, the clams on the other hand left something to be desired, they were so rubbery that we both had three that we could not chew enough to swallow, almost worse than that was a terrible annoyance of the door slamming shut every time a waitress or patron came in or out, come on folks even the waitress said " yeah, we need to fix that door". It was less than a pleasant experience, next time it's back to Anthony's Seafood in Middletown !

A group of us dined at Quito's the other night and as always the food and service were excellent. We ordered their stuffed quahogs, clam chowder, mussels, salmon, and sauteed shrimp & scallops - it was all fresh, seasoned and cooked perfectly. The only thing that wasn't perfect was a lobster roll we had ordered, it might have been sitting for awhile waiting for the other items to be cooked. A perfect view of Bristol harbor and fresh seafood - it doesn't get better!

Here today (6/24/10) for lunch and really enjoyed this place. Pros: Huge menu Big portions Priced right Comfortable atmosphere Beautiful water views Attentive waitperson (Laura Rocks!) Cons: Parking was tough on a Thursday afternoon-I can only imagine how difficult it will be to find a spot on a weekend. Sat outside by the water after lunch to soak in the sun-nice times. I would come again, and that really is the best best compliment I can give.

I dropped into Quito's while staying near Providence for a conference. I ordered one of the spring specials, it was sole stuffed with scallops and shrimp with broccoli and smashed potatos on the side. It was without a doubt the best seafood dinner I have had in a long time, and I will definitely return.

Excellent place for seafood. Small place right on the water in Bristol harbor, you will probably drive by it if you don't know where you are going. Great portions, seafood prepared many different ways but that is not all. I will continue to return.

This is a really small restaurant that is attached to a fish market. The view is absolutely amazing, as it is literally as close to the water as you can get. The seafood here is really good, and have most of the standbys, crab cakes, fish platters etc. It is a little pricey, but I think you are paying for the freshness and the location more than the food.

"Clam shack" style dining on Bristol Harbor. Except its not really a clam shack - it just looks like one. The prices are also decidedly not clam shacky. Now that we've gotten the appearances out of the way - go to Quitos and order a pasta dish w/ their Zuppa sauce. You won't be disappointed. Chopped clams, whole littlenecks, shrimp, scallops or a combo - do it. Its the real deal.

This used to be a great restaurant, what the heck happened?!?! Went last night and our server ignored us, there were literally 8 empty glasses on the table between 2 people, she didn't bring us water or silverware until we asked. Furthermore, our oysters were room temperature, the cocktail sauce was brought out in a single use plastic peel off container and our food (Grilled Lobster Tails and Thai Tuna) was luke warm. Wildly disappointing when spending over $20 a plate. I will not ever go back. Why would you ruin what was once a wonderful establishment?

Fish chowder is excellent here. The other dishes we ordered were very good, but the (frozen) fries that came with the meals were a little soggy. The outside dining area offers a great view of the bay.

We used to dine at Quito's quite frequently however, the last 4-5 times have been disappointing!! From the cold chowder's to the horrible service! We have noticed that the younger servers are lax, forgetful and just plain unknowledgeable. Sad, they may feel that younger has more energy however, they would be better represented w/ mature attentive servers! Quite tired of sending back cold food to be microwaved until chewy and waiting for children to realize that they are responsible for serving customers.

Wow! VERY surprised to see a 4 star average for this place. Had lunch here on a Friday. 1 star for being on the water, but that's about it. Ordered the mussels to share as a starter. Maybe that's where we went wrong going with mussels over clams, but they were the worst mussels I have ever had (and I eat a lot of seafood). The mussels were supposed to be in a garlic broth, but I think they were simply in dirty bath water...all gray and flavorless. JP added salt to his side of butter to try to flavor things up. We also split the lobster roll which was also a big miss. Totally flavorless and for $18 or whatever it was I was expecting to have my socks knocked off. Honestly, the worst meal I have had in quite some time and I eat out 4-6 times a week. There has to be better places to eat in Bristol. Come here for drinks only since they are on the bay or maybe order something that they can't screw up....like fried fish. Pros: view and service Cons: food and prices (for what you get)

Haven't been to Quito's in years..and now I remember why. The place is run by a completely under 25 crowd, not sure the bartender was old enough to be serving drinks. Our "20 minute wait" turned out to be 50 minutes. Table was not clean and the overall appearance of the patio seating area was disgusting. Bus people carrying armfuls of dirty dishes (no trays) stood by our table waiting for someone to open the door over and over. (bus buckets?) The service was rushed and food served one course on top of another. The caprese salad was so small for $9.95. I noticed all of the prices seemed higher than the last time I had been there. A bit overpriced for the quality and lack of service. The food was marginal at best, no flavor or imagination. The little neck zuppa was very greasy. Icing on the cake was the ladies room...no TP and a trash can overflowing with garbage. As a local, i will not be referring anyone to Quitos, as I have in the past, not will I be rushing back there anytime soon. Get it together...

The steamers (steamed clams) were almost enough to feed both my mom and me. It was nice to sit outside right on the water. The grilled lobster tails that we both got were really disappointing, however. They should have baked them. We should have just gotten two orders of steamers and called it a day. I'd recommend this place though.

A restaurant in a perfect location, right on the water. It's a small seafood restaurant, very friendly staff, and great seafood. We visited this restaurant with a large group and everyone left happy and satisfied. I ordered the lobster saute per the waitresses recommendation, outstanding suggestion. Next time I'm up north I'll be visiting this restaurant again.

A nice setting, and a good all-around effort. The NE clam chowder was kind of weird. It has parmesan I think. The RI chowder was rather bland. The seafood stew was syrupy. Visited 8/08

I came here for lunch with friends on a Saturday after we toured Blithewold. It was a warm day and we sat in the outdoor area, which does have (at this time of the year, anyway) plastic screening and heaters. The wind picked up at the end of our meal and the screens and heaters helped suppress the chill. I had the half & half fried plate (scallops and calamari), which one of my friends also had, but with whole clams and shrimp. My other friend had lobster bisque and a chicken caeser salad. We shared some clam cakes as well. It was my first time having clam cakes and I don't think they are for me. My friends thought they were good, though. We all enjoyed our seafood. My friends raved about the lobster bisque, whole clams, and shrimp. The batter on my calamari and scallops was light. The dish also came with fries, coleslaw, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and hot pepper rings for the calamari. Our food was tasty, service was prompt and friendly, and the view over the water was lovely.

Oh, yum. This place was my first Rhode Island dining experience, and it was lovely. It's right on the harbor, complete with authentic fishing boat tied up to the dock in front of the outdoor patio. It's easy to think that the very same boat delivered your fresh meal earlier that day. I had the clam chowder and clam cakes and found both to be exactly what I expected - hearty, flavorful, simple, comfort food. The setting was the perfect backdrop for the meal.

Very nice restaurant, very good, fresh food, staff is nice, efficient, personable. No big difference eating in or out, but the balcons that open to the ocean inside are pleasurable; enough said, our favorite. our family from Texas and friends that have shared it with us from overseas enjoyed it very much.
