Delicious burrito and pork quesadilla! Visited my cousin and her hubs in Bristol, RI over the labor day weekend and had a lovely time munching around the area. I almost missed the restaurant but there were two Nacho Mama cars parked outside. Easy to find on-street parking on Labor Day. We had phoned in for a pick up so there was no wait once we got there. I think it was shorter than then 15 minutes that was quoted over the phone for the food to be ready. The place is small but has a couple of chairs for eating inside. Sorta fast place type but not a chain. We didn't eat the food right away but it was still nice and warm 30 minutes later when we had it in some state park in the Jamestown island. The burrito was chipotle sized and had black beans, gooey cheesy sauce, rice, chicken, lettuce and salsa. It was delicious. a bit wet by the time I had consumed it but not bad at all! The fiance had the pulled pork quesadilla which came with sour cream and fresh salsa. The meat was tender and moist with lots of cheese!! :) It was really yummy. Total came out to be ~$20. Not super cheap but the food was fresh and delicious. the payment system was nifty too b/c you sign on an ipad and i had my receipt sent to my google email account.

Nacho Mamma's was a great accidental find. Hidden next door to a cleaners, this tiny restaurant serves up some delicious food. I stopped in for lunch today with a friend. Two chills, one taco and 2 waters came to $18 which I thought was really a good deal. Best of all the food was extremely fresh and flavorful. Sadly I don't live in the Bristol area because they do deliver. It is not far off the bike path and would be a nice place to refuel.

I think my favorite food cuisine is anything spicy and ricey (so south american, asian all good). I remember the "old nacho mama's". Since the change in ownership, I think the food has become more creative and I do not know of a better Mexican food place in the area. It has a very causal atmosphere, but if you order at the counter they will bring your order to you. I think the true reason that I love Nacho Mama's is the fact that you can grab a glass of Sangria, order fish tacos, take a seat outside (at sidewalk seating), and relax while looking out down state street to the water. Yes, this a casual mexican place that you can have (great) sangria, outside, with a water view. Talk about heaven! This is my go to summer afternoon relax spot (and now I am telling you all this secret...). I personally love the fish tacos; they are slightly spicy, but the salsa that is put on top is fresh and livens up the whole plate. This is a great, great place.

Forget the fact the food is delicious and very creative. The owner and his staff understand hospitality. Goes a long way when they appreciate your business and want you to come back. Hats off!

I practically start drooling at just the thought of Nacho Mammas. Everything that I have ever had from here is delicious. I must say that my personal favorites include the jalapeño cheese pops and the breakfast tacos because they're a little bit different, but their burritos are pretty damn good too. What makes this place 5 stars though is the great staff who are always friendly and accommodating.

Nacho Mamma's was the first restaurant my husband and I ate at in Bristol. We had spent a hot summer day apartment shopping, and had grumbling tummies by the time we strolled past Nacho Mamma's. We had been searching for an affordable restaurant with vegetarian options, and decided this looked to be the best option. When we think of a burrito joint we often think of Chipotle. When dining at Nacho Mamma's, keep in mind not every burrito place is the same. We scanned the menu, found a veggie burrito option, and placed our order. The kind gentleman taking our order asked if we wanted other veggies, in which we said "yes, please!" (We love our burritos to be fully packed, as they are at Chipotle). We weren't informed the few "extra" veggies would cost us, though. Because we weren't ordering meat, we thought corn or olives would not be an extra expense, but they were. Our affordable $8 burritos increased by a few dollars. However, the food was very fresh and tasty! So, after officially moving to Bristol, we would occasionally order from NM whenever we craved a yummy burrito. Once, on a very lazy winter night, we ordered delivery. I'll warn you, they will not deliver unless the charge comes to at least $30, which I believe to be a bit steep. Being that my husband and I were comfy and cozy in our warm apartment on this January night, we decided to just order a few items off the menu to bring up our bill to that $30 minimum. He ordered the veggie burrito, while I ordered the veggie tacos that came with a side of rice and beans, an appetizer of jalapeño cheese pops, and a second appetizer of the sweet plantains. The order took about an hour to get to us, which had our bellies growling quite loudly by the time our food arrived, but we graciously tipped the man delivering the food, and began to dig into our meals. I was very upset to find that my tacos were filled with onions, which I had asked not to have any (I get very sick if I eat them). I was also upset to find the portion size of my "side of rice and beans" to be MAYBE a measly tablespoon each. Because I was so hungry, I'll admit I was a bit cranky over finding this out. I called Nacho Mamma's to complain. Thankfully, they said they'd resend me a new veggie taco without onions, as well as another side of rice and beans. But when I got my food, all I found were the tacos. No sides. For nearly $40 in food + tip for just two people, we were very upset with the long wait and extremely small portions. The appetizers, although very tasty, were very minimal as well. I've had a second experience similar to this, and have since decided not to order from Nacho Mamma's anymore. Their food is actually quite yummy and fresh, but the prices are not always accurate, and the portions (at least when ordering delivery) do not match the steep prices either. If you're willing to overpay for takeout food, Nacho Mamma's is the place for you. Otherwise, I'd say to check out some of the other restaurants Bristol has to offer: Sunset Cafe, Tong Phoon, Leo's, Beehive cafe, etc.

Place is weak. if you're looking for a good burrito or taco chipotle absolutely morphs this. portions arent bad but it took them 45 minutes to make a single burrito and 2 TINY tacos. at other Mexican restaurants you could get the same thing for far less money and be out the door within 3 minutes. on top of that, they screwed up my order more than once.

Let me start by saying that Nacho Mamma's has excellent food. The customer service is also excellent. However, I can really only give the restaurant a 3-star rating due to misleading menu prices. One of my favorite items on the menu is the Veggie Burrito. The Burrito is listed on the menu as $7.95. If you get a burrito with everything added (lettuce, onions, beans, sour cream, guac, etc) the price increases by $4-$6. I genuinely appreciate that Nacho Mamma's uses fresh ingredients and I always expect to pay more for certain items like guac, jalapeños and sour cream, but I find it very misleading to price the Veggie Burrito at $7.95 when many ingredients are considered extras. I will likely return in the future, but I would feel more comfortable if the menu provided indication of which ingredients are omitted from the base price.

Hands down the best taco/burrito joint in the area. Whether its after a long work day, getting past a hangover or some weekend munchies; when I crave Mexican food, I have a few basic requirements: Freshness Good Quantity Deliciousness Check, check and check. I've tried a lot of stuff from here and everything has been out of this world, whether its the wings, the tacos or the nachos - everything is just on point. My recommendation for someone who's never been here and is seriously hungry; the Portuguese burrito. Yes, while not the most authentic burrito in the world, its one of the better burritos I've had in a while. Flank steak, fries, two eggs, some Portuguese peppers and seasoning with a good dollop of sour cream for good measure. Totally satisfying, totally delicious and probably more calories than you might consume in a week haha but listen, this is what you come here for! If you're in here counting calories, you're in the wrong neck of the woods! While I feel like this place does cater to the pick-up and delivery requests from RWU, there's a decent amount of seating, the staff is friendly and its smack in the middle of downtown Bristol. If you have a hankering for some good Mexican grub, this place is a must visit in you are in the area!

Everything is so fresh and flavorful! Plantains where delicious, chicken taco was pretty big (prices list on yelp are wrong btw, actually are more expensive then list on the menu). I would come back!

Tiny place HUGE FLAVOR. Service is great food is fantastic. The tacos looked small but were packed full. I had a steak and a chorizo. My wife had the shrimp and a pulled pork. She won't stop talking about the shrimp. The jalapeño pops at like little spicy cheesy hush puppies. I could have just had those and been satisfied. And I can get a Pacifico? AWESOME!! Totally shocked at the size of the kids burrito. It weighed at least a pound. Can't wait to go back and try more tacos or the chimichanga! Great local spot!

Best steak burrito in decades! Not since a burrito from the Mission District in San Francisco or Old Town Mexican Cafe in San Diego have I had a burrito this good. Steak with the works including black beans and guac. I'm a big fan of Chipotle and both of these places are a drive for me but now I choose Nacho Mamna! Love the name my first visit and very friendly!

Nacho Mamma's is a refreshing break from the terrible, over-priced dining scene that seems to prevail in Bristol. They don't have table service, the prices are low, and the food is simple, yet very good. We got a veggie burrito that was solidly above average and the famous nachos, which are great. Most places treat nachos as an excuse to pile up the profits by giving you a bunch of chips with a smattering of toppings. Not here. We actually could have used more chips, there were that many toppings. A fork was necessary to finish the dish. You should eat outside in the summer. There are a few tables and you can look down the hill at the bay.

The food is good but $20 for 4 little tacos??? Very pricey for the amount of food you get!

We have lived in The Warren/Bristol area for 12 years and finally got around to trying this place. The place is tiny but does have both indoor and outdoor seating (note that there is no a/c inside). The menu has a little something for everyone and they are willing to customize anything you see on the menu (within reason I'm sure). The food is phenomenal! We were pleasantly surprised. I got the nachos with beef and my boyfriend got the fish tacos. The ingredients were obviously high quality and my boyfriend even commented that his fish tacos were by far the best he has ever had. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it was on the expensive side. Our total came to $25 for nachos, two fish tacos and two sodas. I am sure the high prices are due to the fact that they use high end fresh ingredients but it is still tough to spend that much on Mexican. Definitely a place that we will visit again just not affordable enough to become a regular stop. I would highly recommend anyone to give it a try since they will not be disappointed!

Delicioso! Was my 1st time there, I got the shrimp tacos & a side of salsa & chips. They threw a side if guacamole since it was my 1st time. It was fast & fresh. Will be going back.

Consistently great food experience. Small venue but the taste is big! Good Mexican and Central American theme foods. My personal faves are the fish tacos, pulled pork BBQ nachos, made to order Chimichanga and, of course, their burritos. It helps to have bottled Modelos, Dos Equis, and Coronas to compliment the delicious food.

I was surprised by the quality of the food. The burritos and quesadillas were good but save your money and skip the sides of rice and beans. The side portions ate tiny and the beans tasted fresh from the can. It is very small inside and they don't utilize the space they have. Also everything was dirty. We swapped tables because there was a lot of garbage on the floor. I was surprised with how dirty it was considering we were the only customers and the staff was just sitting around. The counter with the food didn't look very clean either. I will give them credit for the creativity of the food (Portuguese burrito)and they can wrap a burrito pretty well.

The food was delicious and the service quality was mixed, from a smiling and friendly chef, to a waitress that blared her annoying music. The seating is very limited and the "bar" seating is rather uncomfortable. But the food makes up for most of the listed flaws.

This review is for their so called "catering" service. What a joke! I was in a wedding last night and the bride's family hosted an after party with a catered nacho bar from here. The bride was so excited for the nacho bar, especially because the owner promised her it would be the "best part of the wedding, because he wanted business from it." We all had a good laugh about that this am, as the Mother of the Bride said no one asked who did the nacho bar lol If you're going to toot your own horn and talk something up so much, at least deliver on it. The set up was so sad. Unimpressive and disappointing. The chips were in a huge rubbermaid bucket with no scoop to get them out (really? you couldn't even throw the chips in a festive bowl?) There were no fresh ingredients, just 3 trays of gross looking cheese dips. It's pretty bad, when after a night of drinking, a nacho bar looks unappetizing to you. We could have done a better set up by going to BJ's and buying chips, sour cream and salsa. BTW there was NO salsa, sour cream, or guacamole. (things that you would think are pretty standard at a nacho bar) thank God I was sitting down when they told me how much they got charged, because I would've fell over if I wasn't. I'm sure he is laughing all the way to the bank. I really hope my friend's Mom is able to get a partial refund because it was a total rip off and I would never recommend the service to anyone else. I definitely won't check out the restaurant now, either.

One of the most amazing Mexican places I've been to. The food is super fresh and made to order. I've had the burritos, nachos, and taco salad. The nachos are my favorite! They serve a couple of Mexican beers and sangria. Very low key atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

The chicken and shrimp tacos I had were good, I'll give them that. The chicken burrito was fresh and juicy- no Tacos la Mexicana but fine. The "homemade" tortilla chips were terrible- weirdly thick and soft- I think they were just pre-made tortilla wraps cut up and toasted. So the food was decent. But I was unpleasantly surprised when my bill was more than I was expecting because the menu prices were written wrong, and when I asked the guy about my total, all he said is "oh yeah, we haven't updated it yet". Except this is a fancy burrito place, not a truck or shack. Like, the menu is in pristine colorful chalk. Get on that already! In addition, they spelled chipotle "chipolte", which, again- Mexican food, what's going on?? Get it right! And to top it off my coke can's bottom was bulging, which meant somewhere in the distribution it was frozen. Probably that one's out of their control, but still, come on! I enjoyed the food enough, but they're definitely coasting on being the only game in town.

Stopped in here for only a quick, easy lunch with my girlfriend. This place is in what is easily my favorite down-town area ever. I'm also a little bias because I'm from Bristol. They are in what has housed a few small time business that never seemed to make a go of it. N.M. has seemed to be there the longest so far though. Hopefully that's a sign of their business savvy, and a constantly fresh menu! They share a building with a dry cleaning business. It's great though because the design of the small building is SUPER retro. Very fifties-esque. Nacho Mamma's adds an eclectic and fresh burst of flavor to a downtown area filled with lunch spots that are good...but monotonous. We found easy on street parking directly in the front and made our way inside. We were greeted by a girl behind the counter who smiled and waited patiently for our order. The music was authentic and added to the atmosphere. I really enjoyed that it had its flair and touch but wasn't made to be corny (i.e. sombreros hanging about, etc.). This place had OPTIONS. So many great options that I feel bad reviewing after only one visit on a simple lunch. I'm sure I'll be back and add to this post later. Not too many to intimidate you though, and that's important. At the time, my girlfriend was giving vegan a try. So she ordered a veggie burrito and left out the cheese, and sour cream, and kept the guac. she seemed to really like it. She gave me a bite and I have to say that the vegetables were quite perfectly grilled. I am very picky with my cooked veggies as I believe you can turn them into mush all to easily and then disguise it with some toppings behind a pita bread. But this one was done well, I, on the other hand, gave the shrimp tacos a try. I LOVE that they came in soft shells. Nothing I love more then being able to bite from any given side every time I pick the taco back up. I can honestly say I was pleased, they didn't try to hide behind cilantro, or anything like that. The first bite was REFRESHING! That's what I look for in any kind of seafood taco. It was refreshing, and it packed a mouth full of flavor. NOT a bad deal either with two of them only costing a few bucks a piece. We overheard the owner talk about how they just received a liquor license that is going to allow them to serve outside so there's going to be more seating soon and Bluetooth connection to the speakers that will play some music outside as well. Bristol is a great little town and having a place like this with fresh, delicious, Mexican food is something I'm personally very excited about . They are going to be a wonderful stop on a summer day when I'm craving some nachos, and a lemonade!

I came here for the first time right after they opened and I've been hooked ever since. They use only the freshest ingredients (from local growers when they're available or in season) and they make everything to order. If you want for example; no onions, extra olives and light lettuce it's done and there are no dirty looks and no heavy sighs... You get what you order. :) Their sauces, salsas and guacamole are extremely fresh (I'm a huge fan of their 'super hot' sauce... It's hot and still has awesome flavor) Try the specials!!! It's clean! When I say clean, I mean really clean. You look back into the open kitchen and everything is in its place, nothing strewn carelessly about and no mountain of dishes. The proprietor takes pride in his business and it shows. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. It can get busy around lunchtime but they always have a smile for you. Busy is good... It means they're doing what they're supposed to be doing and I'll keep coming back! :)

What brought me in? The punny name! I love puns, they get me every time. What will get me in again? Their hottest hot sauce. I love hot foods. I mean, LOVE them. Some people think it's actually a problem. Anyway, I asked for a lot of their hottest sauce on my burrito and was warned that it was really hot, and was I sure? I said yes PLEASE and it burned my face off, just like I always want but never seem to be able to find. I was in heaven. The burrito itself was good, with nice fresh ingredients. They had a lot of different options in a build-your-own style, but nothing particularly exciting or different. Except for that HOT SAUCE. ::swoon:: Another noteworthy aspect of this burrito is that I ate it in the car. And while driving, at that. It was very tidy, and this is a very admirable burrito trait.

We had lunch there today and really enjoyed it. I was a little disappointed that they only have the advertised sangria in the warmer months. You order your food at the counter, pay then sit and it is brought out to you. My daughter had beef nachos which were very good. I had a shrimp and a fish taco. The shrimp one was amazing with zesty fresh toppings (mango, cilantro, cabbage etc...). I enjoyed the fish one also - it had nice fresh mahi mahi on it and the same toppings. I didn't like it as much as the shrimp as I found the mild white fish didn't hold it's own with the toppings, but it was still very enjoyable. When at the counter paying, I initially thought it was a little pricy but after tasting the food thought it was reasonable for the quality. Even though I prefer a restaurant where you are seated and waited on usually I will definitely return here!

Went and had the jerk shrimp tacos... AMAZING!!! I will definitely be going back again. Nice casual smaller dining area with a few tables outside. A bit on the pricier side for plastic silverware and trays but not a deal breaker at all.

This place serves up fresh and delicious food and is always offering unique specials. I typically get the chimichangas but have also had the taco salad and nachos. All of these were great- good portions, good ingredients, cooked well and assembled with care. [ UPDATE: I would give them 2.5 stars but it doesn't allow me to. This place has become really inconsistent in recent months. We've had a few disappointing experiences (rubbery steak, missing ingredients) and it seems as though the portions have gotten smaller and the preparation is sloppier. Needless to say Mama's has fallen to the bottom of our list for take out. ] My only reservations about this place are the customer service and the prices. There is something just novice or unprofessional about the way handle customers. They are always polite but as other reviews have stated, it can just be plain awkward, confusing or uncomfortable. Safe to say when I get Nacho Mama's it is always as take out. As for the prices, they are kind of high considering the cuisine and casual atmosphere. Nothing outrageous, but $11 for a deep fried burrito is up there.

Everything is so fresh and flavorful! Plantains where delicious, chicken taco was pretty big (prices list on yelp are wrong btw, actually are more expensive then list on the menu). I would come back!

Very personal customer service. Burrito was very delicious; they even accommodated special request of mine. Your order is made right before your eyes, and you can see the ingredients being prepared fresh as well. There is an extra charge of $1 if you want extra sour cream. The entire dining room only seats 16, plus one table for two outside in good weather, but no doubt they could prepare food for your large event held elsewhere. There are no public restrooms here. The dining room has glass on all three exterior walls, making for a very bright and sunny experience. Delivery is available with a $20 minimum order and $1 delivery charge. About ten beers are available as well.

Been there before... Giving them a second chance... And since then...Nothing to write about... Food was mush... BUT very clean and very personable... I would like a white rice with cilantro and lime... I think they have a great core... (I used to run a burrito joint that has a few places in RI) I love their core and flavors but needs some help.

I stopped in to Nacho Mamma's with my boyfriend and while the food was good, it was definitely pricey. It cost us $25 for two burritos and two sodas and my burrito would not stop leaking from either the beans or the chicken (I couldn't tell).

Great Mexican food. Very easy to get to, right off rt 114, Hope St, on the bus route too! Typical prices of Mexican food. The chicken burrito is my favorite! Totally loaded, with everything you personally pick out. I think it possibly could be over a pound of deliciousness. With a soda it's usually under $10. Quick service and a great lunch to grab for lunch hour from work. Outside bistro tables in summer and inside seating. Gotta go try it at least once to make your opinion! Mmhhmmmm

Food was good. Nachos were great and the tacos were fresh. The red sangria was pretty good too. The kids size burrito was actually pretty large...This is casual dining, order your food at the counter and pick it up there. Waitstaff was friendly. I would definitely come back here again.

I've experienced the Mamma. She's good but not worth a trip if you don't live in the vicinity. Portions are sizable, decor all too fluorescent, and the seating rigid and uncomfortable - perfect if you're only perching while getting your take out. I ordered the special which was a BBQ pork in a quesadilla with a side of rice and beans. The front desk helper, don't know if he's a mamma's boy or not, was certainly not the brightest of bulbs. After fumbling with money and being asked by the kitchen a few times what was ordered and me having to correct him, my meal came without the "meal" accoutrements, so I had to ask for rice and beans which came out in stingy plastic ramekins. They price gouge you on extras like guacamole - $2! For two of us it came to over $24 for: one "meal" quesadilla, one solo quesadilla with guac and two sodas. Expensive for Mexican, considering I just went to Harry's Burger Bar and the tab came to $17 for two. You hear me peeps? Now the only question I have is which list that fits into? It's neither malo nor extraordinaire... Maybe I'll make a new one for middle of the road mexican. Done and Done.

I like eatting here, but take out is too sloppy. Once I got home there was sour cream and tomatoes all over the box. Eatting they are nicer it seems if you take out they just don't care about you. Next time I'm going somewhere else

I came here on a Friday at lunchtime. Clean and quick service. Had a veggie chimichanga. Not that great. The beans and jalepenos tasted canned (as other reviewers have mentioned). My guess is there aren't very many Mexican places in East Bay, so that's why this place has won some awards. Not impressed. Prefer Poco Loco in Cranston.

I came in here a few weeks ago - psyched because of these Yelp reviews. The Mama's Burrito was terrible and the chips/salsa were equally unimpressive. Seriously - one star is appropriate, but I threw down two because the lady behind the counter was so nice. Is it possible that it's just a bunch of friends of their's reviewing on Yelp with an Elite or two mixed in?

  • Jen C.

It has taken me a while to like Nacho Mamma's, I must admit. I have finally learned what not to get there (anything "barbeque" on the menu is not so yummo). I have gotten the shrimp tacos three times now, and today, the mamma earned a decent review. The shrimp tacos were amazing, I asked for some guacamole (2 bucks! so you better love guac) on it and boy was it delish. The mango salsa was perfectly ripe and fresh, the shrimp was well seasoned and cooked perfectly! I am hoping that this is a sign for good things to come. I will definitely be going back again. The three star rating is basically because I have definitely had a few misses (and now finally a few hits!).

I would say a little pricey for 'fast-food'--essentially on par with Chipotle maybe a tad more expensive. But it was DELICIOUS. So, possibly worth it. The setup made it a little awkward trying to figure out how/where to order when no one else is in there--it would have been nice for the staff to be more helpful/instructive. But great pico, jerk chicken, and chips.

I judge the worth of any Mexican restaurant on their ability to craft a burrito. If you make a good one I'll come back again, if it's not good I'm all set. It's not the case with every sit down place, but riddle me this Batman. Why is it always the takeout taquerias that seem to get the burrito thing right all the time, whereas the sit down restaurants serve up a lackluster burrito so often? At any rate, even a bunch of white boys can get Mexican right if they know what they're doing. Nacho mamas serves hands down one of the tastiest, most fulfilling burritos around. They have good, made in house salsas, and a plethora of very delicious ingredients to satisfy anyone's particular tastes. The chips are a bit thicker and crunchier than your standard chip but are something that grows on you. My wife loves the chicken quesadilla, and she is ultra picky when it comes to finding one that she likes. By the way, there's a few beers to choose from if you decide to dine in. They run specials often and are always friendly and fast. I'm glad there's a spot like this around that does it right.

If you're from Bristol, you know there aren't too many good options around. Nacho Mama's just happens to be the best. Their sizes are perfect and the prices are comparable to other take-out restaurants within the vicinity. I take comfort in the transparency of the operation; everything is done right before your eyes. You get to choose from the freshest of options as they make it for you. Staff is wonderful and accommodating. All around great quality. PS - I highly recommend the chimichanga.

This place would have got at least four stars, had I not decided to eat in, and get take-out instead. I went there on a weekday around noon with my girlfriend, looking for a new taqueria place to try rather than always going to our go-to place No Problemo in New Bedford, (which is consistently awesome). As soon as we walked in we noticed we were the only ones there except the one eccentric looking guy running the joint by himself. We asked about some of the items on the menu and all his descriptions were equally vague, simply stating, "everything is awesome". The restaurant is chipotle-style, meaning you pick all your ingredients which are already laid out for you to see, except the steak which is cooked and chopped to order. I ordered a burrito, which was certainly massive, and my girlfriend got a steak quessadilla. In addition we also bought a small order of chips and salsa for an appetizer. The total came out to $28 , a little pricey for a small, nothing fancy mexican place, but not bad. Okay, but before the worst let's start with the best. My burrito was awesome! Steak was perfect, the toppings were fresh and the their super spicy sauce was amazing, plus it was huge which was always a plus. The homemade salsa was also really good, my girlfriends quesadilla was a little greasy, but eh.. I don't really care for quesadillas in the first place. Now for the worst. The guy who ran the place. Not that he was a bad guy, or a jerk to us in any way, he was just insanely awkward, awkward to the point where it pretty much ruined the experience. As we sat waiting for our food and talking amongst ourselves, the guy started singing "Seize The Day" by Avenged Sevenfold loudly and out of key, echoing the chorus over and over again so that we could barely hear ourselves talking over him. At first we ignored it and kept trying to just enjoy ourselves, then he interrupted us just to ask, "Hey, have you ever heard of this band Avenged Sevenfold?"... Hmm... Lets see, have I ever heard of this overplayed song from back in like, 2006 played by an equally overplayed and horrible band? "Yes" I replied, trying to make it apparent I wasn't interested in pursuing the conversation further. "Yea they're freakin' awesome!" He called back from the kitchen, singing the chorus one more time. There was a nice quietness for about 2 minutes when all of a sudden THE ACTUAL Seize The Day song was blared through the house speakers. It scared us both, and managed to annoy us to the point where we almost took off. I just laughed, I was blown away. Then when the trash finally ceased spewing out of the blown speakers, he sheepishly let out, "Sorry guys! I just had to hear that song one more time!". I didn't even answer. In his defense, when he saw I was struggling with the extremely spicy, super hot sauce he offered me a complementary small bowl of sour cream, which was definitly nice, he didn't have to do that. But overall , the experience just wasn't good at all. Waaaay too insanely awkward to the point of pretty annoying. Come for the food, it really is awesome, then split if possible.

good fresh ingredients, and the staff is very friendly. LOVE their black bean soup.. so tasty!!! and their garden burritos really hit the spot. they have patio seating which makes it perfect in the warmer weather and i think it's BYOB here, from what i remember. they also had a taco bar, outside, at one point, over the summer.

Oh Nacho Mamma, imagine my fright When, after waiting all day with delight To sample your abundant vegetarian fare I arrived on your doorstep, oh so aware Of the meal that awaited, vegan salad and soup But perhaps your workers were staging a coup Because although the sign said you were open 'til nine And I glanced at my cell phone - 8:45 was the time Your doors were shut tight, your lights were turned off The workers were sweeping, at my pathetic knock they did scoff Alas, oh Nacho Mamma, it was not meant to be for me Or my own lovely mamma, who was equally hungry But thank goodness the Wrap Shack had a delicious salad for we And so, Nacho Mamma, you've lost two customers in perpetuity

When I eat out I am looking for (A) great food and (B) great people....and not just the people serving the food but the patrons as well. Nacho Mammas not only fits the bill, they have rewritten it. Say goodbye to the assembly line burrito joint with the same ole monotonous bricks of food doled out like free turkey dinners at the local Sr Center by some college kid working to keep his cable on. Say "hola purveyor of bangin south of the border food coma". The menu might be as dynamic as the owner who impresses with his ability to negotiate converations with his customers while hookin it up on the grill to the sounds of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and a treasue trove of pulled pork singing sweet home Alabama while bathing in sweet azz BBQ sauce. Ever had a portugese steak burrito? No? That's because the owner created it while playing 18..barefoot (at least that's how I imagine it went down). I wouldn't call Nacho Mammas a restaurant...I wouldnt say I've been there. What I would say is that I have "experienced that crazy joint" and so should you. The absolute best burritos in the land and a good hearted owner and staff that obviously take a lot of pride in their craft. Get there before Anthony Bourdain does and every Tom, Dick, and Harriet blows up my spot.

Let's not get out of hand here people, Nacho Mamma's is good, but it's not OMG BEST BURRITOZ IZ HAD IN MY LIFEZ good. That sort of culinary hyperbole only brings out the haters, and there's really nothing to hate on here. It is what it is. Food is cheap, portions are sizeable, it's in Bristol, it's edible. I like it, but I don't love it, and I wouldn't drive to Bristol from PVD for it. Will I stop by if I'm in the area and need a cheap filling snack? You bet! Is it better than Bebop Burrito or Chipotle/Qdoba/Taco Bell? Completely! Is it the best cheap eats in Bristol? Well, that's not much of an accomplishment, but sure, yes! Does it hold a candle to anything in Cali or even No Problemo in New Bedford? Of course not! Keep your expectations realistic and you will not be dissappointed.

YAY YAYEEEE!!! So the wife and I went here this past Wednesday but they were closed for vacation. So today is the first day they are back open for business. Shame on me for not eating here sooner. The place has been open for a little over a year now in my backyard and I'm just eating here now?!?! I know it's a fail on my part. But hey what can I say, I just heard of this place a couple of weeks ago. Anyways let's get on with this review already! You walk in and you place your order at the counter. The owner works the counter and also cooks in the kitchen with another cook. I went to order the ground beef burrito and the owner tells me they are out of ground beef right now. I'm thinking to myself, oh boy this is not starting off on the right foot. I've been looking forward to the ground beef burrito since Wednesday AND I hadn't eaten yet today. I guess my displeasure with this was written all over my face because he apologized to me for being out. So I ordered the chicken burrito and my wife ordered the steak burrito. So after you order, you take a seat in one of the booths. Well the owner brought over an order of nachos and says "here you go that's for being out of the ground beef." Boy did I feel like an a**hole lol. But that was a major solid on his part regardless. So once your food is cooked, he calls you over to the counter and you tell him which toppings you would like on it as its all fresh produce, cheese, rice, beans, salsa toppings and so forth. Once we let him know, he put together our burritos and brought them over to our table. They really pack in the portions let me tell ya..this burrito was HUGE! The chicken was so tender and juicy with just the right amount of spice to it. This is by far one of the best burritos I've had. My wife told me the steak burrito was excellent. They also have beer and bottled margaritas to drink as well as water, soda and other beverages. Seating is limited but there are some tables outside in front under their awning. If you're in the mood for some excellent Mexican and you're in the area, you have to come here and experience the goodness of Nacho Mammas! The fact that it's 3 minutes from my house, I'm not sure if this is a bad thing or a good thing lol..but either way, I have a feeling I will be a weekly customer here.

  • JR B.

So why do we go out to eat? To have food we enjoy better than we can make it ourselves. The food here is enjoyable. If it is taste that you seek you will not be disappointed. All the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. Ingredients alone do not a meal make. The meats are marinaded in very flavorful concoctions that will make you want to try them all. If you have the steak quesadilla you will experience tender pieces of steak that compliment that rest of the ingredients. The dinner portion burritos will satisfy even the biggest appetites. Oh did I mention that you get to tell the "chef du burrito" what you want on it as it is being made. So there you go with the great ingredients done to your way. Maybe that is why they chose the name Nacho Mammas only your Mamma would ask how you really want it. The owner is the guy behind the counter and he is interested in being a local business and part of the community. Why not welcome him to town by stopping in and making two people happy - the guy who runs the place and you cause you're going to have a good meal. Eat in or take it out to Colt Park for a nice picnic on the water. Hey Bristol it is time to break the dull pizza habit.

REALLY GOOD is basically all there is to say. The portions are huge and taste great. They have all kinds of mexican dishes that they make in front of you, and all the food seems really fresh and the place is clean. I went because a friend recommended it, and I would as well! Get the chip and salsa, you can try the VERY spicy salsa if you are daring enough.

Fresh, fast, and affordable. This place is funky and very casual- the music is usually loud and weird 80's but I think it's a lot of fun. Don't take it too seriously and you should enjoy. I loved the steak burrito which was huge with quality marinated steak and custom made with everything I asked for.

Amazing new restaurant in downtown Bristol. The Fish Tacos are the best I've ever had. My dinner mate also enjoyed the shrimp quesadillas very much. Fast service, nice environment. No sign on the front of the building, but they are next to the dry cleaner's.

Typical headline Mexican food...burritto, taco, et. al...smoothered in cheese. It was pretty good..I do like the open kitchen, and the fact that you can see everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is more of a "to go" place..there are only three tables that seat four people and one that seats two. They do have outside tables during the summer, but the Town restricts alcohol outside of the biz. Will be back...

yum yum yum! i had a great experience here. ordered the loaded nachos - veggie style -- and they were fantastic! the salsa was chopped veggies and not runny... yum, my favorite kind. my only complaint is the size -- it was $7 and it could have been a bit bigger (i split it with someone, but it was still a tad small for the money). i also ordered the bean soup and it filled me up the next day when i ate it for lunch! definitely substantial. the guys were friendly and the space was clean and well-kept. the menu was very vegetarian friendly. definitely going back!

The food was delicious and the service quality was mixed, from a smiling and friendly chef, to a waitress that blared her annoying music. The seating is very limited and the "bar" seating is rather uncomfortable. But the food makes up for most of the listed flaws.

One of the most amazing Mexican places I've been to. The food is super fresh and made to order. I've had the burritos, nachos, and taco salad. The nachos are my favorite! They serve a couple of Mexican beers and sangria. Very low key atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Delicious Portuguese steak burrito...must try it. Staff was friendly it was just really pricey. Probably the best order of nachos I have ever had.

Good, fresh, and tasty. Tortilla shell for salad was a little too greasy. Nachos yummy.

I'm in Fish Taco Heaven! The food here is fresh, made to order & delicious in a casual atmosphere. I love Nacho Mamma's! Don't miss out.

I stopped in to Nacho Mamma's with my boyfriend and while the food was good, it was definitely pricey. It cost us $25 for two burritos and two sodas and my burrito would not stop leaking from either the beans or the chicken (I couldn't tell).

This places food is definitely edible, but ther service is pretty slow. The setup is similar to a chipotle with less options. Pricy for what it is.

  • Kate D.

The three star rating is basically because I have definitely had a few misses (and now finally a few hits!).

yum yum yum! i had a great experience here. ordered the loaded nachos - veggie style -- and they were fantastic! the salsa was chopped veggies and not runny... yum, my favorite kind. my only complaint is the size -- it was $7 and it could have been a bit bigger (i split it with someone, but it was still a tad small for the money). i also ordered the bean soup and it filled me up the next day when i ate it for lunch! definitely substantial. the guys were friendly and the space was clean and well-kept. the menu was very vegetarian friendly. definitely going back!

    - In the interest of full disclosure, I've known the young owners personally for quite a few years - talented, hard working local folks. That being said... What separately qualifies my review are two facts: Fact One - I grew up in the Southwest, and grew

Great little Mexican place in Bristol. Fresh and made to order. Their salsas are good as well. It is always amusing going in there seeing someone try to take their Burrito Challenge. A weekly treat for me and my girlfriend.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
