We used to be regulars at Aidan's years ago but had a visit right after the renovation that was SO bad on every level that we didn't return until now. It was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon and this place was packed. We were seated promptly. That was the end of "promptly". When a restaurant is this busy I always expect things to move at a much slower pace. This was a bit beyond that and our service was just odd. We did eventually have a server come over with menus. My husband really liked the craft beer menu. I went with a glass of Chardonnay and also asked for a glass of water. Drink prices were definitely reasonable. After a bit of a wait a different waitress brought my husband's beer and asked if I wanted a glass of water to drink. I told her what I had ordered and off she went. After a while she came back with my drink. Our waitress eventually showed up and took our order. We started with the pork potstickers which are on the summer specials menu. They were delicious. I ordered a cup of the RI clear broth clam chowder. It was an embarrassment to all RI chowders. I thought it was a chicken soup at first because that's what it tasted like! After closely looking I did confirm that it was little pieces of clam, not chicken, but it REALLY tasted like chicken soup....and not a good one. At this point our server seemed to disappear. I really don't know what was going on, but our service continued to go downhill with long waits between taking drink refill orders, them being delivered, etc. For entrees I ordered the shrimp and spinach salad. It was ok, but nothing really special. The waitress had asked if I wanted the dressing on the side. I said yes, but the dressing was served on the salad. My husband ordered the salmon from the summer specials menu, but received the salmon from the regular menu. He thought it was ok. We didn't bother bringing the issues to our server's attention as she was absent and when in the area seemed very frazzled. She did rally to come by, ask if we wanted dessert, we declined, and bring the check. If I were to return to Aidan's it would probably be for drinks only. I may give Aidan's another shot for a meal in the off-season when it is a little less busy.

Awesome spot, great deck dining! Nachos, fish and chips, potato skins, sirloin all great items. Have not had a bad meal here, everything was delicious. Service very professional and speedy! Love the view and very clean!

Came in for an early lunch before a Yelp Elite event in the neighborhood. I went with the Aidan's Club. The bacon on the sandwich was cold, overly greasy, and even had chunks of congealed fat on it. After picking the bacon off my sandwich and attempting to eat it, the sandwich was bland and flavorless. I was beyond disgusted with my order. 2 stars for the view from the deck on a gorgeous day, and the service was pretty attentive. I wish we were just going out for drinks.

Positives: -Anything Irish in the menu. -the Cajun salmon is excellent. Negatives: -no heaters for outdoor eating when chilly. -riddle me this: why does an Irish place have nachos on the menu? Had to see what that was about, and the conclusion is don't order the nachos (if you've been to the southwest coast/Mexico you know why). Suggestions: -Heaters for chilly/evening weather dining. -condense your menu and stick to Irish food (stick to what you know/love) Will I return: We will return! Fun place.

I was pleasantly surprised with my recent visit to Aidan's. I had not been since the remodeling/expansion and finally gave it a try. We arrived during the not-so-busy hours on a Sunday afternoon to find that they were still quite busy anyway. The first thing that struck me was the detail put into the beer menu. A really nice selection of beers, "88 from around the world", were categorized by type and they were further annotated by ABV, serving type (draft, can, bottle, bomber), and taste description (malt, hop, and yeast profile). I had 3 different drafts and enjoyed them all. Our appetizer was the dumpling-style pork pot stickers. The sauce was tangy and they were quite flavorful. They had a nice selection of appetizers as well as soups, salads, and sandwiches also. For my main entree, I ordered a summer salmon special but ended up receiving the other through a mix-up. No worries. It was a lemon-dill preparation that was quite tasty. It was also my second choice. The mix-up occurred because they were training new wait staff and something got lost in communication. Despite this, the service was attentive, so no issues here. We should definitely visit Aidan's more but summer is here and it is a popular spot. Regardless, I will definitely be back soon to try more beers and maybe the other salmon entrée if it us on special again.

Used to go here a lot, my buddy that lived near here moved away so I sort of forgot about it but I happened to be in the area last week and stopped in for a couple of pints and a sandwich. Lots of choices for beers and good pub food. So nothing had changed but in this case, that was a good thing. I'll be back for sure.

Great pub food and great selection of beer. Pricing is very reasonable for the high quality product. My favorite is the fish rueben.

Aiden's is on numerous internet lists as being "dog friendly" but when we went with our 15lb dog we were told we would have to tie him up on the sidewalk, off of their patio. Not only was the sidewalk 5 feet away from where we would have been sitting (which our dog would have been vocally unhappy about) it was also directly in the hot sun. There was no way we could stay there. I have had many great experiences at Aiden's over the years so I hate to give them a bad rating, but I wanted to let dog owners know that this is not a dog friendly establishment.

Aidan's Pub pours just about the prettiest Guinness I've seen outside of the UK, and that's fitting since this place is pretty authentic, down to the Fish 'n' Chips, corned beef on rye and even a house beef stew. Throw in a stone hearth with a roaring fire on a blustery December day and I felt a bit like James Joyce. The service is warm and professional, the ambience is cozy and comfy, and the food is pretty dang good, although I do wish I'd opted for the sweet 'tater fries rather than the thick-cut regular chips. They're out of this world and heaps healthier. The turkey club is absolutely delicious -- not so huge that you can't get my mouth around it, and full of flavor and an especially delicious portion of smokey turkey tha'ts not at all over-cooked or gamey. The bread is toasted to perfection and the dressing, lettuce and bacon work together to bring all the flavors out. So delicious, Apparently is can get rowdy in here in the evenings, but I was here for lunch with quite a civilized crowd, which is impressive considering it's a waterfront pub in Bristol. Worth a visit, for sure!

Aidan's is always a great place to sit down for traditional pub fare or a drink. The service is always fast, with an accommodating wait staff. Their outdoor seating is great in the summer, while the inside next to the fire place makes it ideal for winter months--a great environment no matter what time of year. I highly recommend the shepherd's pie or fish and chips. Their numerous beer selection is also wide in variety. Karaoke on Thursday nights makes it fun for the younger crowd. Their beer sampling nights are also fun to attend, for a relatively inexpensive price given that they pair the selections with a full meal. The only downfall is that when the bar upstairs becomes loud on weekend nights, it makes the dining experience less enjoyable downstairs.

As anticipated, Aidans has become my local hang out; I make a trip here at least once every week. Sundays Irish sessions are fantastic, and I am so happy I discovered them! Beginning at 5pm every Sunday, it is a great atmosphere and place to wind down the weekend. The people who come together to play are always in great spirits and have a great selection of traditional sing a long songs! Whenever I need a pick me up, I head to Aidans!

Consider me a fan of Aidan's Pub. I went one dreary Saturday afternoon in late September after watching my nephew's rugby match at RWU. I actually found Aidan's with help from Yelp! I split some wings with my nephew & DAMN if they weren't solid. They only have 2 sauce selections (BBQ & Buffalo) but were very flavorful. The wings had plenty of meat & were cooked perfectly all the way through. I'm picky about my wings but they nailed it. I also tried their clam chowder & it was pretty amazing. I like my chowder nice & creamy & Aidan's didn't disappoint. My chowder was thick & tasty the way it should be with just enough clam & potato. My 3 year old was with us & had a grilled cheese (pretty much all he eats) but he wasn't that hungry. The french fries that accompanied his sandwich were thin sliced & cooked just right. I'd like to try the fries on my next trip. Aidan's is an Irish Pub so they also have beer! Their menu had 88 beers if I'm not mistaken. They had a few pumpkin beers on tap (Southern Tier & Shipyard) but I opted for Harpoon Octoberfest & Wolaver's organic oatmeal stout which were good choices. My nephew had a Narragansett lager & a bomber of Southern Tier's Earthy IPA. Aidan's is a cozy authentic Irish Pub with great beer selection & food. I can't wait to try it again on future trips to Bristol.

Nice menu selection... We had the lamb burger and the fish rueben... both were very well done! The lamb burger was cooked as I asked for it, and the flavor was great! The fish rueben was also wonderful! FRESH fried fish makes all the difference... We started with the nachos, which was a mistake. Run of the mill nachos that could have used more toppings. By the time we got to the bottom of the chips they were a soggy mess! But they're nachos... There are plenty of other apps to choose from, so don't let that put you off... all the other food we've had is terrific! Aidan's has a great beer menu as we'll. you can find all the familiar Irish favorites as well as a great selection of draft, bottled, "bombers", and "big" beers ( higher in alcohol content)! We've been coming to Aidan's for years and have yet to be disappointed! From burgers to traditional Irish favorites, there's something for everyone! And did I mention the Irish seisun on Sundays? A chance to clap, sing, or bring an instrument an join in!

As a Bristolian, Aidan's is pretty much the place to go for drinks and there's a reason for that. In the winter Aidan's is fantastic to sit by the fire and have some cocktails with friends. In the summer nothing beats sitting on the patio or at the tiki bar outside with the smell of the ocean. But what's even better than the drinks is the food. Aidan's has never disappointed me with their food. Amazing buffalo wings which they've named "Wexford Wings." Their mashed potatoes and pub fries are to die for which is fitting since they're Irish! The burgers are always fabulous as are the steaks and fish and chips. But in addition to the typical pub food Aidan's even makes a fantastic clam cakes and chowder- a Rhode Island favorite. Thursdays are corned beef and cabbage day where you get a heaping portion of food- perfect if you can't wait for St. Patrick's Day. Upstairs they have karaoke on Thursdays, open mic on Fridays, and a dj on Saturdays. I find this to be the best nightlife you'll find in the east bay. Only reason I would not give this 5 stars is because the staff is sometimes not the greatest.

Excellent food and drinks here! Fish & chips and chowder are the best. Cozy and has live music sometimes. It can be loud, but only when it's crowded and music is playing. Great place for lunch too.

We moved to Bristol about a year ago and have been to Aidan's quite a few times so this isn't just a "been there once" review. Aidan's has good solid pub fare and a fantastic selection of beers. Their pulled pork (on the seasonal menu), spicy lamb burger, and fish Reuben are my favorites. Had fish & chips once & fish was horrible, won't try that again. Not a fan of big pub fries but they are better if you can get them well-done; good luck with that, as the drawback with Aidan's is the inconsistent and sometimes downright indifferent service. Most recently we went in, were told it would be ten to fifteen minutes wait for a table. Fine. We grabbed a beer and sat down directly IN FRONT OF the hostess desk. After seeing several parties come in & go to tables, I went to ask..."oh, we've been looking for you all over!" I pointed out we'd been under their noses the whole time - "oh, our bad!" So go there with the understanding that you'll get decent food and a great beer, and maybe, just maybe, good service.

After years of living in Bristol and partying at this place on the late nights. My girlfriend and I on a cold November afternoon decided we wanted some local, comfort food. We made our way to Aidan's and sat in what looks more like a classy, eclectic, living room. Roaring, beautiful fire accompanied by the amazing view of downtown Bristol, and the bay while it snowed. Our waitress approached, very friendly and personable. Gave us the specials and asked for our drink order. We started off the the Fried Pickles! These were Fried Pickles done RIGHT. I believe they were Bread and Butter spears. Fried whole and plated very attractively. They were delicious and quite clearly fresh. Not some Restaurants R Us chips that were taken from the freezer and tossed in some oil. THESE were great. I forget what burger I ordered, but it had an onion ring on it. The burger was BIG. I was more impressed by the fact that as full and stacked as it was....it didnt fall apart. It didn't just collapse in my plate and turn into a burger salad. My beer was never empty, and my belly was NOT disappointed. Very, Very happy to finally experience this cozy, friendly establishment. My suggestion? The fried pickles and a hearty beer!

When still at RWU for undergrad, I found Aidan's to be a great alternative to some of the nearby options for pubs if you also wanted to eat a good dinner. It's not also a dance hall like the nearby popular spot Gillarys, but if you're looking to sit and eat, it's a good option. Aidan's has a very dark and appropriately Irish pub feel. The wood paneling and decor feels more authentic than what usually passes for an Irish pub these days. I would go there most of the time with other seniors from my program (go RWU VARTs!) and our professors and it was always a good time. Their food was very New England meets Irish pub fair: burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, seafood, pub curry, etc. Many Irish pubs will call themselves so and deck themselves out with cheesy 'Irish' decor and then not provide a single Irish thing on the menu besides Guiness. It's refreshing to see that Aidan's actually tries and the menu has a fair amount of options that are probably Irish-American, but I'm satisfied by that. The burgers, soups and entrees I've had were all filling, tasty, and good to wash down with a nice beer. The service was friendly and appropriately timed. No complaints. Overall: Aidan's is a satisfying, enjoyable place to meet up with friends for a drink and a good meal. If you're a student in Bristol, give it a try instead of some of the other more popular places!

This is one of our go-to places to bring friends out in Bristol. Great environment, good crowd, good appetizers , good prices, lots of tv's and a great outdoor scene in the summer. As a bar it works for me, as a restaurant it leaves a bit to be desired. A nice laid back environment in comparison to some of the more "upscale" bars in the area.

Great place to eat! We're not locals so on a whim we decided to stop by and check them out. So glad we did. The service was great (thanks Lindsey!) and the food was very good. We ordered Crab Cakes as an appetizer and Chicken Pot Pie for a main course. Comfort food on a cold, rainy day. The restaurant seems like a well loved eatery for the locals and the prices are very reasonable. Although it wasn't originally our first choice for dinner (Quito's was closed), we would not hesitate to eat there again.

In this part of town it seems like every eatery is way too loud for conversation and only supplying red solo cups for drinks. So Aiden's is a very nice surprise. Tables on a patio with a crowd that is nicely relaxed. An outside bar. Indoors, a dark wood pub feel and sports on tv near the bar. Classic rock playing. Very personable, down to earth servers. Food and drink: Fries and curry sauce: yum-- fat, fresh, disc-shaped fries and a nice thick dip. The shape and texture of the fries was the best part of that, made you wnat to bite into it. My dining companion got a reuben and it looked awesome. I got a vegige burger and it was good- a lot of times they frankly suck. The cole slaw was very good- very thin sliced cabbage, a sweetish sauce, and not too drippy. I loved it, and that's a speical love of mine. LOTS of specialty beers of the menu. Not an amazing, close-your-eyes-in -delight-upon-tasting food place, but it has a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere and a menu for nights when you want a big, chomp- into- it sandwhich and a beer.

Love the atmosphere! We are Bristol locals and come often for bar food and drinks... Food is pub fair -- you'll need to be in the mood for that and it will definitely hit the spot. Drinks are fairly priced. Great service all of the time. LOVE the fireplace in the winter -- and the winter drink menu! Definitely go!

Awesome food! Especially for an Irish Pub. Chicken pot pie, Fish N' Chips, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Chicken Fingers.... all amazing! Great service/atmosphere. Can't wait to come here during the summer and sit on the great patio!

This Irish bar in the heart of downtown Bristol is probably the only bar I actually like going to in Bristol. Especially in the spring and summer when the outside deck and bar is set up. IMO they have above average food for a pub, and I especially love the authentic Irish dishes on St. Patrick's Day. The prices on the menu is actually reasonable. My first time here I was surprised by how much of a selection they have. Now keep in mind that this is a prime social spot for college students being that Roger Williams is right down the road, but honestly it doesn't bother me as it seems to attract s decent crowd. So if you are out to just chill for just a few drinks or for a meal, I think Aidan's is a cool spot to check out.

We were here on a Friday night, took up a table for six while waiting in vain for the fifth member of our party, ended up just the four of us after waiting for more than half an hour and the staff still was wonderful and attentive. Many restaurants would not have been so patient. The waitress was young and energetic and properly attentive. Though seemingly a bit inexperienced, she worked hard and we had no reason to be unhappy with the service, especially considering the earlier mentioned issues. The food: I had a cup of New England clam chowder that was pretty good but no different from any other place in Bristol or in New England for that matter. It was tasty, thick, a good number of clams and the potato's were firm but not under cooked. I had the baked cod with vegetables. This was a large serving of fish, properly cooked, still nice and moist and the bread topping had a satisfying crunch and did not overwhelm the fish. My friends both had the Fish and Chips and each serving would have easily fed two. They reported that the fish was fresh, the batter was crisp and not greasy and the Pub Fries were delicious. My son had the burger and said it was exactly as he asked for it, medium rare with a nice crust from the flat top. This restaurant goes on our recommended list to be sure.

My boss loves this place and has had us get lunch here in the past. About three years ago, I ordered the corned beef sandwich, and it was disgusting. The meat was dry and chewy and not tasty at all. About a year later, I took a work guest there who ordered a hamburger. He found a white hair in the burger. When he called the waitress over, she exclaimed "Ugh! That doesn't look human!" Um....gross! So, I never went there again. Unfortunately, my boss still loves the place and insisted we go there for the past two weeks for lunches to say goodbye to staff who are leaving. Last week, I ordered a New England clam chowder and a reuben with sweet potato fries. We had calamari for the table. The calamari is okay, but a bit greasy. The clam chowder was extremely creamy and didn't have much chowder in it. The reuben was okay, but again, the corned beef was dry (but not as bad as the first time). This week, I ordered the lobster roll, which is a summer special. I have to say, the lobster roll was amazing. It is much larger than traditional rolls in an oversized bun. The bun was toasted just right with just the right amount of butter. There was a generous amount of lobster meat, and it wasn't doused in mayonnaise. I have to say it was one of the better lobster rolls I've had in the state. I had the sweet potato fries and tried a co-worker's pub fried. The pub fries are nothing exciting, but the sweet potato fries are crispy and tasty. So, perhaps Aidan's has gotten better than it was years ago, but not too much better. Co-workers claimed that the fish reuben was delicious. Except for the lobster roll and maybe the fish reuben, everything else seems to be just okay.

This is my favorite bar in Bristol, Rhode Island. The food is just okay. I would suggest a Burger or something, but the atmosphere and beer selection is great. The crowd is mixed and it is usually packed. I enjoy happy hour here and if you want a good laugh visit on Karoke night (Thursday). A lot of college students from Roger Williams visit and then a mix of locals. I definitely recommend this place for a great drink and service.

Awesome bar winter or summer (decks) food choices are pub based but the specials are always good. Great place to eat and or get a pint. Sunday late afternoon irish music great. Highly recomend the shepard's pie with a pint on a cold winter day. Met my wife here and that wasn't even on the menu what more could you want.

I first came to Aidan's while they were temporarily housed at Judge Roy Bean's a few years ago, they've since finished remodeling and relocated back to their original spot. The restaurant looks terrific, they've got a great atmosphere going on with live Irish music, a huge real, non-gas fireplace, and everything is furnished cheerfully and warm. So I really enjoyed that. However, I'd have to say that my Aidan's experiences those few years back were much more delicious than the one I had the other night, I'm disappointed! Service was a little slow, but they were busy and it was a holiday weekend. Our waitress forgot our drinks twice. One of the highlights of all the previous meals had been their clam chowder (New England, not Rhode Island) so I ordered a cup, but it wasn't as flavorful and thick as before. We also had the clam cakes as an appetizer but they were extremely doughy and didn't have a lot of clam in them, yet the tartar sauce that came with was quite tasty, with lots of fresh herbs and a little kick to it. I had the chicken Caesar salad for my entree, but the chicken smelled AWFUL and had a funny taste to it. Their grill is in desperate need of a thorough cleaning and scraping. It was too bad because the chicken was perfectly cooked, nice and juicy. I didn't want to send it back because it would have taken forever (our waitress was overwhelmed) so I pushed the chicken to the side. Despite the meat stank, the salad itself was decent, not great but not terrible. Overall, I'd be slightly less keen on returning there for a meal again, but I'd still give them another shot based on prior excellent experiences. The atmosphere is a huge plus, so I'd definitely come back for that! I'm giving it three stars because the first few times there were so wonderful, despite the junky recent one.

I ate there with the family based on a friends recommendation. So sorry I did as there are other restaurants in Bristol that are so much better. First off, we ordered our drinks and the cups were small and I knew that we'd be chasing the waitress for refills. We ordered the potato skins as an appetizer, it came to the table and there were only three. That seemed odd, and they were nothing special. I ordered the Black Angus Sirloin for my entrees and ordered it medium. It was delivered to the table well done. They offered to cook a new one, but I said no because I didn't feel like waiting 25 minutes while my family ate. The only reason that I gave the place two stars is because my wife enjoyed her fish Reuben sandwich. I'd pick some place else if I were dining out in Bristol again.

faaaaaaantastic fantastic place. amazing, filling, warm, down-to-earth bar food. laid back but genuine service, tvs all around. i wish this place was closer to home! had their corned beef and cabbage, ribs with cole slaw and mashed potatoes, beers, and new england stuffies. side note: we ordered two orders of stuffies (meaning we should've gotten four. aidanspub.com/menu.pdf ) and we only got one order and were still charged for two. i took this up with the bartender/server and she insisted there's only one per order. if she wasn't so great the rest of the night i'd have fought for it, silly girl, i actually wanted her to take it off but leave the credit card charge and add it to her tip. watch your stuffies bill ladies and gents.

Who needs Newport when you have Bristol. Went to Aiden's Pub on Sat. nite and it was just what I needed. A real IRISH PUB, with outdoor seating over looking the bay. The PUB looks great, and the GUINNESS was smooth and cold. I ordered the SHEPARD PIE. It was fantastic. One of the best SHEPARD'S PIES i have ever had. I also tried the LOBSTER ROLL for $14.95 you can't beat the price. It was on a buttered roll the NEW ENGLAND WAY. I say if you live in the BRISTOL area and are a fan of PUBS you got to try AIDAN'S. Great BEER, FOOD, & Location.

Great location right in downtown Bristol, this place delivers, we had a few drinks here and decided to do a cup of chowder. It was around lunch time and the chowder is great. Thick but not too thick and they dont shirk on the clams/potatoes (hate ordering clam broth). Great mix in the crowd of young/middle aged and even a few families. This place has a nice deck outside that id like to try at some point looks like a great view to enjoy a drink feel the summer sun. During night though it is a bar so yeah kids probably shouldnt be there past 7 or so, put em to bed get a sitter and swing by Aidan's.

Best beer selection in Bristol - w/ a quality "pub style" menu. Burgers are a solid B/B+ and the Reuben is out of this world. Also of note are their fries - which are more like potato slices (good - if a bit different.) Recently renovated - they did a nice job keeping the charm of the old bar area and adding a fireplace in the adjoining room and some nice outdoor seating. Only wish they added a bit more personality to the upstairs - which comes across a bit bland (and loud when full.) Sunday Irish Session is always worth a visit as well. Good musicians & a solid pint - can't ask for much more.

Aiden's in awesome in the summer to sit outside. They set up a bar outside when the weather is nice at night time. The prices are reasonable, and the food is decent. The sweet potato fries are my favorite. They have a long list of beers, so if you are a beer lover check Aiden's out. They even have 2 yearly beer fests where you can sample different ales.

I've eaten here twice now, with average food. What I'm really a fan of are the potato "chips" aka thin fried potatoes. Both times I've gotten the burger so I can't say I've been all that diverse, but it was OK. Not a fan of Irish bacon, so I always take it off.

Aidan's is one of my favorite places to come on Sunday afternoons during the summer. I love that you can sit outside on the deck and enjoy ice cold drinks and decent pub fare. Fridays and Saturdays tend to get pretty crowded, but Sunday afternoons are perfect for watching the sun set over the bay and hanging out with a group of friends. The staff always seems to be friendly and attentive, even when it's busy, and will help accommodate larger parties. They have a great selection of bottled and draft beers, my favorite being the blueberry ale by Sea Dog. As far as the menu goes, the clam cakes and chowder are pretty good, but my absolute favorite appetizer is their stuffies. I've made it a point to try stuffies all over Rhode Island and these are by far my favorite! They're always full of flavor, have big chunks of clam, and come hot out of the broiler with a nice crispy exterior. I think they're great with a squeeze of fresh lemon and a little hot sauce. Yum! Burgers and salads are decent, but I once tried a vegetarian sandwich special that had cucumbers, heirloom tomatoes, and a garlicky mayo on toasted wheat bread that was heavenly (and I'm not even a vegetarian). Bottom line: come to Aidan's for the friendly service, great view, cold brews, and of course the stuffies, and you won't be disappointed!

Good food at reasonable prices. Typical pub grub with some Irish specialties thrown in. Great Sheppard's pie. I love it during the winter - very warm and cozy inside.

I will never go back. All of the reviews for Aidan's were good so my husband and I decided to go. We sat outside, our waitress came out took our order and we never saw her again. I got the special rib eye steak and my husband got a cheese burger. His dinner was good but After 3 bits of my steak the rest was FAT. I would have ordered something else but since my waitress never came back I didn't get the opportunity. Needless to say I spoke with the manager and had my food taken off the bill. I wouldn't have been so mad if our waitress had just come by once during the 45 min we were there and asked how everything was. Horrible service!

Easily the best beer selection in East Bay. They also have an extensive menu and they are open late (at least late for Bristol). They often have live music.

Cozy when is cold outside. Fantastic outdoor seating in the summer! Nice little pub with great food! The waitresses have always been great and friendly. I love coming here at the end of the day and relaxing outside with a drink and some friends. Pretty much one of the only places I go in the summer!

This was my husband's hangout when he lived in Bristol, and I can see why! It's a lovely spot, great seating indoors and outdoors, with tons of food and beverage options. Fair prices, great staff, good prices. We stopped in on a Sunday and were happy to find a live Irish band playing. The place was packed and it was a happy time all around. I've been in Ireland and tried to find something along these lines - drinks, band, happy people, singalongs, etc. - but failed. How fun to find it in tiny Bristol!

I visit Rhode Island at least once a year and every visit I go to Aidan's. I love the place, it is one of my favorite places in Bristol if not Rhode Island. The food is always good and I love the beer selection. I loved the old Aidan's and I am still loving the new space. Parking is always a little tight but I'm from LA and I guess that is my problem. I love the patio in warm weather! I look forward to my next visit to RI and my next visit to Aidan's.

Aidan's Pub is my spot. It's a great place in the winter because they always have the fire blazing and it's a great place in the summer because they have a large deck and beautiful views. The food is pretty good, nice Irish selection and some really good burgers. They have a large list of beers and some really nice and unique brews on tap that are constantly changing. I really like this place and me and my college buddies would love going hearing before beginning our weekend festivities. The only knock I have on Aidan's is its a bit pricey for college kids.

I was in Bristol for the weekend for a wedding. We walked down to Aidan's from our B&B and were very pleased with what we found. It has a great Irish pub feel with the bonus of excellent outdoor space to enjoy the seaport town feel. Sat outside for dinner and had an excellent dish of curry chicken with rice. Very flavorful with large portions. I was very pleased. My girlfriend had a salad with steak that also excellent. The Guinness was first-rate for those of you that are looking for a good pint. And the beer selection beyond was outstanding. Over 60 beers and some very good ones at that. I give it very high marks for those looking for a good selection of beers. It was good enough that we stayed after dinner and moved on over to the outdoor bar to watch the Sox game, enjoy some more drinks, and the outdoor atmosphere. Excellent service, friendly staff, and all around a great place. I only wish it was down the street from me rather than 5 hours away. I would definitely be a regular.

Dinner or nightcap The crowd is tame, not rowdy Tasty, filling menu The food here is great, especially the beef stew. It was a bit disappointing in the selection of Scotches (yeah, a minor gripe), but the bottled beer selection is decent. It's a fantastic place to come get a drink with a group to sit and talk at a table, but not so much to go and meet new people.

This was one of my favorite spots years ago. They opened when I was in college (now that I'm watching that date sadly getting farther and farther away) and I've been going since. It used to be a real cool old Irish Pub - very genuine with lots of character. Since it was renovated, I can't say I like it as much anymore. The additions outside and upstairs are nice, but he should have left the original bar and dining area alone - maybe a paint job and some good cleaning, but left all it's character in place. Now it's chopped up in the bar area with a full wall for the hall and bathrooms, and less seating. Door to the new room (old porch which we miss) has been moved. The bathrooms should have been moved elsewhere and hall should have never been put in - maybe a different location for the second door to the kitchen for easy access. Also the unique dark wood that also gave it the Irish character is gone and now is generic light wood. It's also turned into a more college disco hangout which deters a lot of the local people. Upstairs that wouldn't be a problem, but it's the entire place after a certain hour. I can't say a lot of the people that I know used to go disagree with me. The food is still very good. People who complain about it (unless their meal was genuinely bad), should not be going to a PUB to eat! it's pub food! What do you expect - Caviar and Dom Perion? Service is usually very good and friendly waitstaff. All in all it's "not bad", but just not as good as it used to be "atmospherically and clientele". Go for good food and drinks, but don't stay too late unless you like the rowdy college crowd. That always existed, but now it is mostly just that after a certain hour.

Their wings are great! We were in here with a big group on several occasions and there is plenty of space with big tables to just hang out. They have a wide selection of beers (local and imports) but only serve by the glass, not by the pitcher. I would not recommend this place to college kids looking for cheap beer/ food but it's a great spot for grown ups to relax. They also have a ton of patio seating so it's great for a nice summer evening.

I often have dreams about Aidan's Reuben. I don't believe that it is traditional, as they use homemade corned beef that is thicker than you would usually find, but it is the most tender, flavorful corned beef I've ever tasted. Plus, the sliced potato fries are amazing. Couple that with a pint of Guinness or a black and tan, add in some traditional live irish session music coming from the front room, and you have the best pub experience you can find.

My family and I stopped in for dinner the other night. The food came so fast that we were out of the place before we knew it. The food was nothing special; I had the chicken potpie, I should have gotten something else....anything else. Nice place, good staff, but the food was unremarkable. Good location in the center of Bristol - go for the drinks and not for food.

Great bar, but I think the food is hit and miss, and expect to pay 75 cents for tomato and 75 cents for lettuce extra on a burger. The food is average at best, as far as a bar goes above average.

Aiden is a small Irish Pub in Bristol. Having been to Pubs in the UK, I can say that this one does a decent job or remaining true to those establishments. The food here is pub fare, but they have some interesting dishes like "meatloaf mountain". The drinks here can be a bit pricey, but they have a huge selection and you will find something new to try each time.

Great clam chowder, both white and clear, great fish and chips and a perfect black and tan. What more can be asked for. It's just a great place to sit and have a bowl of chowder and some general pub grub. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive even when they are busy. They also offer nice out door seating that over looks the bay and convenient parking in a town that when busy can lack it. Make sure you get the clam chowder bread bowl and a Guinness you will not be disappointed.

So when my husband and I walked on a sunday afternoon, I felt as though I had stepped into on of those movies that portray the Irish scene of a loud brawling bar. The new building is very well put together, pretty hardwoods and very authentic. The front bar was filled with very loud men and a handful of young women who wore heavy eye shadow and were chain smoking cigs outside the front door...I turned to my husband. and I said simply..."I am not sure that I want to stay". While I am always up for an adventure, this was my Sunday afternoon in which I wanted ot have a nice lunch in a low key type of spot. The hubby convinced me to stay and we ate in the back room. The food was good- our lunch consisted of Irish potato cakes with a balsaminc reduction(yum) and a burger and veggie burger respectively. It was pub food -nothing more nothing less. Service was attentive and efficient.

I used to frequent Aiden's a lot from 1994 to 2005. I attended every St Patricks day every year from opening to closing. I got married in 2005 and had a child soon after. I haven't gone much in the past few years. Yesterday was the bigeste dissapointment in my life: The Irish coffee was deplorable, my Guinness was a bad pour, the Shepherd's pie was subpar, but 9 hours later I started vomiting and spent the rest of the night sick. I did not see a doctor, so I will call it coincidence. All around a bad experience from one of my favorite places of my youth.

During my college days I frequented often. Ten years passing, the flavor has remained the same. My favorites are easy- boneless Buffalo wings, Cajun chicken sandwich w cheese and mayo and the Shepard's pie for desert. The SP comes delivered with just the right amount of gravy and the mash potatoes are golden brown. It's the only place that seems to consistently get it right. I do recommend staying away from the stuffies however everything else is trump tight.

I've been here several times over the last few months. The cheeseburger with Irish bacon is fantastic. THICK sliced bacon, not those wimpy little dried up pieces you get most places, and great pub fries (the kind that look like fat potato chips). Great selection of beer, and on Sunday at least, there was a small band playing authentic Irish music. It's a pub and the menu reflects that. Sit near the fireplace and enjoy a stew or chowder, or grab an ice cold Guinness and just be Irish for awhile !

When we come to Bristol from California, we never miss stopping in at Aidan's. The atmosphere and food are family friendly, and the prices are reasonable. We love the pub fries as well as everything we've tried to include the steak and blue cheese salad, salmon ceasar salad, bangers and mash, cajun chicken sandwich, lobster roll and grilled cheese sandwich. We will definitely keep Aidan's on our list of haunts as we return each summer!

well, color me surprised. i have been popping into aidan's when i'm in bristol for many years now, and the pub i found yesterday is a far different one than the one we've always...settled for. being the holiday weekend, it was packed but no worries. we wiggled up to the bar and were served quickly by the friendly and efficient bar staff. i worked my bar magic and secured us seats from guests who were preparing to leave. there was a lively session of live irish music being played and the overall vibe was merry. i was starving, as i put it at the time, "hungry enough to eat at aidan's". when i looked over the extensive menu, i could see it was much evolved since my last visit. i ordered 3 clam cakes, priced at $2.00. i absolutely love this thoughtful option, i can't eat more than 3 in a sitting anyways, and it was a treat to be able to order just a taste. they were crispy on the outside, soft and dense on the inside and well filled with tender pieces of clams. i also ordered a fish reuben, which was dressed with cole slaw rather than kraut. my friend ordered (yikes) an 8 oz top sirloin steak. priced at 13+change, i was tentative. for and upcharge of $2 he substituted a scallop and bacon chowder for his starch. our meals arrived more quickly than i expected given the crowd. i am a big believer in details, and that is what i noticed first. the rye bread in my sandwich was beautifully grilled to golden on both sides. the peices of tasty cod were sliced so that the sandwich was easily manageable, and were well cooked. the fresh half-moon shaped pub chips were hot and perfectly cooked. my friend's steak was cooked evenly to a perfect medium rare, and, while not the caliber of grass fed beef i am accustomed to, was tasty and a good value. the chowder was thick and delicious, could have been a tad hotter, but tasted so good it didn't matter. across the board everything was properly seasoned and thoughtfully prepared. the bartenders were really nice too, you could tell the staff enjoys working there. if you haven't been to aidan's in a while, pay them a visit. you might be pleasantly surprised.

Stopped in here for a drink and apps after spending the day at Colt State Park. We were immediately greeted by several friendly staff members. They offer 101 beers from around the world -a mix of drafts, bottles, and cans. We ordered nachos and the fried calamari. The food came out very quickly. The nachos were very "meh". They consisted of chips, mozzarella cheese, jalapeños, large pieces of pale lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and sour cream. The cheese was only on about 5 of the chips. Not so delicious. On the contrary, the calamari was very good. I would give this place another shot. The atmosphere is great, prices are good, and the severs are overly attentive in a good way.

We always head to Aidan's after swim meet at RWU. The food is outstanding every time. Craft beer selection is super. Staff is friendly and make you feel right at home. We usually have a big group and they always sit us upstairs which has great TV's to watch games, etc. We have never been disappointed. Parking is tight so you may have to hunt for a spot but it is worth the trip.

Went to Aiden's last night for St. Patrick's Day. Wanted a good atmosphere, good beer and good food. We got all three. The beer selection is fantastic. All kinds, all sizes, all good. It was St. Patrick's Day so the place was packed. We had to wait a bit but what can you expect in an Irish Pub on St. Patrick's Day. All the staff were friendly and accommodating, they had live music in some areas, irish music playing in others. The food was good. It is a definite place I would try again and it was a great place to spend St. Patrick's Day.

Aidan's was very family friendly location. We dined outside in the wonderful summer month during July. We had a great server that was wonderful with our kids (2 and 6yrs). Our food was delicious! We will definitely go back with and without the kids.

Last June, we visited Aiden's for the first time and we'll be back! Great pub atmosphere and such, and the food choices were many. Family of 4 and they made us feel welcome. The place was clean, busy, and our server...Tuesday was her name!...followed up with us constantly. My daughter says the clam chowder was the best!

This is by far one of the best pubs in the southern New England area. My wife and I have frequented this establishment 5 times now, and have always left happy and full! When you first walk in the décor and ambiance is welcoming and authentic, a necessity when going out to dinner. The woodwork gives a comforting feeling of rosy cheeks and smiling faces, something an Irish pub should always feel like. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor seating has a lovely view of Rockwell Park and Bristol Harbor. Indoors has wooden booths and intimate dining tables. The wait staff is impeccable, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Even whilst busy the hostess always greets you at the door, and seats you promptly. Wait staff always reads you the specials and actually gives a description of menu items, not just rattling them off without giving input which is refreshing. If you like beer than this is the place for you, the beer list is enormous and the draft list is a sight for sore eyes! I recommend trying their Beer Of the Week or if you're feeling Irish the Big Beer Of the Week. Ales, Lagers, IPA's, Stout's, Porter's, Belgium wheat's, Cider's, and the variety is extensive! They have cocktails, wines, martinis, and hot drinks, too boot. Great list and great choices. The food is amazing, I have never had a meal that was subpar and neither has my wife. They have great appetizers, the Irish Potato cakes are a must to try, we had their fall special which had corned beef and a nice spicy mustard sauce. Their farmers stew is delicious, and they incorporate fresh local vegetables in a hearty stew. I have had a variety of entrees and my wife has also, and we still have dishes that we are eagerly anticipating. I have had the Fish and Chips which has an enormous cut of fresh white fish battered to perfection and served with hand cut pub fries which are amazingly good. My wife adores their Shepard's pie and Dublin Pot Pie. They have a seasonal special menu that fits the respected time of year perfectly, I had an Amber Ale Bratwurst that was divine, served with sauerkraut and a spicy mustard. I've also had their lobster roll in the summer which is equally divine for its respected season. So many great options to choose from! Again, I must emphasize how great the wait staff has been every time we have visited. The management must do a great job at hiring some of the best waiters and waitresses, my wife and I have experienced some horrid wait staff but this is a nice breath of fresh air. Service is always prompt and the timing is great. Even if the place is jamming, we still have had an awesome dining experience. I highly recommend this Irish Pub, it is well worth the drive from Fall River. We will see you again and again! A main stay of Bristol, Rhode Island.

I have been to Aiden's at least fifty times over the last ten years and Aiden has been here every time. They have a tremendous beer selection. Stopped by Aidan's with my fiancee and a couple of friends during the downtime between the wedding and wedding reception of another pair of friends, and I am certainly glad that we did! Aidan's is your classic, laid back neighborhood Irish pub. It's clearly a favorite spot of numerous local regulars, but the servers and bartenders couldn't have made a group of overdressed out of towners feel any more comfortable. The bartender came to our barside table numerous times to check up on us, joked with us from behind the bar (despite being quite busy), and gave us a hearty goodbye when we departed. Seriously, I felt like I was indeed at my own neighborhood bar. The inside of the bar is spacious with plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs, as well as pretty ample seating at the bar. There is also some outdoor seating, which I imagine is prime real estate during the summer season. The food menu definitely offers above par pub food with an emphasis on Irish and seafood fare, and the prices appeared reasonable. As we were heading out to a wedding reception, we opted to keep it light with an order of the spinach artichoke dip and some New Englad clam chowder ("when in Rome..."). Both dishes hit the spot. Given our celebratory moods and the upcoming "free" dinner we would be ravishing, we chose to focus on caloric consumption via the liquid route and Aidan's did not disappoint. They have a wide variety of micro and macro brews both on draft and in bottles. Furthermore, they definitely have a slant towards local brews, which is something I always appreciate (think Narragansett, Harpoon, Sam Adams, Mayflower, etc). They also offer a wide variety of Irish beers and Irish whiskey and scotch. Being an IPA fan myself, I opted for the Foolproof Brewing Backyahd IPA which I found to be pretty darn good (hoppy but not too aggressive and clearly with an awesome name). To top things off, we sat right by the digital jukebox which just happened to be loaded up with 7 free credits! For better or for worse, we took advantage and subjected the crowd at the bar to our musical whims for 30 minutes or so. Even without control of free music, Aidan's would definitely be a spot I'd stop by should I find myself in Bristol, RI again!

Aidan's has become the must stop for our visits to Bristol. Great big beer menu, a very good kitchen, atmosphere and views. Over the years we have had a little bit of everything from the menu and bar. Great fish and chips, curried chips and other pub fare always hit the spot. They also pour a nice Guinness and have unique beers of the week.

We had dinner here last night. We're from Brooklyn, New York. We ordered lobster roll and Dublin pie. We were blown away. Their food is so delicious and just well thought off. The lobster roll is so amazing it felt like it melted in my mouth. The pie tastes so fresh. On top of their wonderful food, the waitress was so nice and very friendly especially to our 10-month old boy. Great service overall. It's a warm and kind place for tourists like us. Kudos!

What a pleasant place! The warm woodwork and warm greetings. A true pub feel. I went alone so I sat at the bar, the full menu was available. In true pub fashion there was a friendly feel from the regulars once I sat and ordered a pint of the freshest Newcastle draught I have had in years. The barmaids were bright and cheerful and made helpful recommendations. There is a huge selection of beers and whiskeys for all tastes. I went with fish and chips and wasn't disappointed. A large piece of fresh fish with hand cut chips. The mandatory tartar sauce and cole slaw were present (why no mushy peas?) but so was that salt and vinegar. The batter was light, everything was fried just right too. Dessert was a choice (for me) between apple pie and bread pudding. After consulting with the barmaid I went with her recommendation, the apple pie (strawberry - banana bread pudding?) and a cup of coffee. The pie was fresh, the crust was great; dollops of whipped cream, caramel drizzle and a small scoop of vanilla ice cream brought it all together. In short, if I lived here this would be my regular place for a point and for supper out.

When you are offered a spicy lamb burger, you take it! My wife got the lamb burger and I didn't and I regretted it. After getting one bite I was hooked and can't wait to go back. The fries were thick steak fries and different but good. There are so many beers on tap! There's definitely something for everyone among their 101 options. The waitress was so friendly and helpful, and even took the time to suggest a specialty beer to my wife.

I've been here for drinks a million times, but only got around to trying the pub fare recently. Not too shabby. It's an old pub with two floors, lots of exposed wood and hardwood floors. It's quite nice inside and they have a fireplace in the front dining room. The upstairs is more of an overflow area with a second bar and a karaoke/dancing area. During the summertime, the put in a tiki bar outside too. SO MANY BEERS. 101 of them to be exact, and they have a lot of good selections on tap. I don't think there's another bar in Bristol that has the selection that they do. If you're here for drinks, you'll have a great time. They are always well staffed behind the bar, have great offerings and serve a good, stiff mixed drink. However, if you're coming for food, it's a mixed bag. The service is young, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there's some apathy and standing around/socializing that goes along with that, and I've definitely seen it here on more than one occasion. Our waiter at lunchtime was nice and very attentive, and I had no complaints about him. The hostess though, tried to seat us at a really awkward table even though there were plenty of others available. It was basically on top of a couple trying to have a nice date, so we asked to move. It was kind of a non-issue, but that's not the first place I would have thought to seat someone. Some food was great, but most was just okay. I had the bangers and mash, and the sausages were awesome! It was very crispy on the outside with a light maple flavor and I loved it. The beans and gravy were average and the potatoes had a little too much butter in them. My mom got The Limerick sandwich and it was basically just a grilled cheese with stuff on it and not really anything special. The thick-cut chips that it came with were really good though, and I had to steal a couple. Nice bar, awesome beers, great location, alright food and alright service. A-ok, I like it!

We told our waitress it was our first time there and she recommended just about everything but pointed out a few "popular favorites" so I went with one of them (Fish Reuben -- it was excellent). It's quite the happening Irish Pub for a Saturday the first week in April! All the food is homemade which is evident it's the taste. With a full bar, they can make anything. I'm looking forward to going there again and again!

I've been to Aidan's Pub a number of times and will recommend it to anyone visiting Bristol. I go here all the time and my personal favorite is the Southern Fried Chicken Salad. Also, the sweet potato fries are to die for! You can't go wrong with Aidans and everyone will definitely be satisfied

I have been a loyal customer for over 2 years now, but I am afraid that my recent experiences in the past few months have led me to question the value of coming back. In the past, I have made sure to mention when the service and food were outstanding so that the people responsible could be praised for their work. Today, I am sad to report was the second time I have been severely disappointed in both the service and the food. I came in at about 2:15p.m. on Sunday, August 23. I sat at the bar because the wait for tables was clearly long, and being by myself, it just made more sense to occupy one of the empty bar stools. I had hopes that the bartender would provide the same delightful service that she was giving her regulars. I ordered a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel ale, followed by a draft porter, both excellent beers served quickly. For brunch, I ordered Aidan's Traditional Irish Brunch with eggs done over easy. This is a brunch plate with black pudding, brown bread, rashers, bangers, potatoes, toast, and 2 eggs served as you like. The food came out 12 minutes later, which is commendable, but the bartender did not bother checking back on me until I was done. The eggs, rashers, pudding, and bangers were cooked perfectly, but the toast was burned and the potatoes were obviously from an earlier part of the shift and put back in the fryer until they were so crisp you could fire them from a slingshot and cause permanent injury. When I told her and showed her the potatoes and toast on my plate, she asked if I wanted replacements. I was done, my napkin was on the plate. The kitchen and the bartender should really step up their game a bit, because this was unacceptable. I am sorry to say I will not be back.

Came here with friends and was amazed at the quality, price and amount of food they give you! Service was great, atmosphere comfortable. Did I mention the bloody marys? Fresh made. I'm not one for bloody marys as a general rule, but I thought this one the perfect mix of spicy, and frankly, I thought it was better than most. A friend ordered the fish and chips, and it was humongous! Vegetarians fear not as there are a couple of things on the menu we can eat too. All in all a great lunch! P.s. The nachos were ok, better than most I have had, but they still have that huge gloppy mess in the center that when you get to the bottom of the plate gets kinda gross. One last thing, the lettuce and onion should be free when you get a burger. I almost want to take away a star for charging 75 cents for those things, but I had a good meal, so I didn't.

Been here 5-10 times, good comfort food, great atmosphere, even better beer selection, both on tap and in bottles. 2 thumbs up for John at the bar. Place is great for families or if you are just stopping in for a pint.

Great little joint located right off the water. They have an outdoor bar and seating area when the weather is nice, and it's a great place to hang out. Their food is quite good. I had a Reuben with their pub fries, which are perfectly fried. The service was great, I would certainly be back!
