So delicious. We ate it before I could get a pic. Chocolate pecan ice cream???? YUM! Handel's has walk up window service and the place was packed on a Wednesday night! Lots of people sitting on the premises enjoying their ice cream goodness. The line moved swiftly and the server was kind and friendly. Would definitely go again!

It was our last night in York, PA. . . my bf wanted to get dessert here. I've only been to the one in upland, CA (that's a really far drive from where I live) It was a humid summer night, what a wonderful idea! We arrived with his parents, there was a really really long line. Everyone had the same idea, I guess! It was our turn to order at the window, we all ordered different things: soft serve on a cone, chocolate double chunk brownie in a cup, penut butter chocolate crunch, and a milkshake. . . total $13! SUPER cheap! There was only 4 ppl working in the establishment. . . but they did it in a orderly manner and got us in and out within 10mins! I've been a fan of handel's for a while now.

I have been here multiple times. Amazing flavor selection. My absolute favorite is the Elvis ice cream. Made with Fresh bananas and peanut butter!! Other good mentions: Graham Central Station, Salted Caramel Truffle (AMAZING!!!)... The only reason why I give this less than 5 stars is due to the Sugar Free option. I know people that have tried it, I gave it a try once for a healthier choice, its a bit gritty...

First off, I want to correct their hours of operations. They are 11 AM to 10 PM. Then I would like to add my vote for Handel's as the best ice cream chain in existent. Not only do they offer real ice cream with great flavors (try their chocolate raspberry truffle) but their cone sizes and prices are much better than the competition! I go out-of-my-way to stop here.

I love their ice cream. One of the best places I've been to. They are always friendly and are always recommending me the best flavors.

Best ice cream in the world hands down. Specialty cones are tasty. Ice creams are not cheap, but they load it up nice and tall. Elvis is my favorite. Can't go wrong with deep dish apple pie, or pumpkin ice cream. You can taste a flavor before you buy, always good business practice!

Handel's is dangerously close to my house and this is both the best thing in the world and the worst due to the constant temptation. Decent prices and delicious ice cream, Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie is to die for! They also have various seasonal flavors that pop up throughout the year (Graham Central Station is super yummy in the Fall) and a menu full of lots of options. Handel's also offers ice cream pies using any of their flavors, if you order in advance. Totally worth it.

This place ruined me. I can't eat ice cream anywhere else. The consistency alone is as good as it gets; creamy and rich, never icy. And if you order a flavor with anything mixed in, it is chock-full of it. The cherry vanilla must have at least half a jar of cherries, the peanut butter parfait is brimming with gobs of gooey peanut butter, the coconut cream pie has so many chunks of pie crust I had to pick a few out, you get the idea. No thin, tasteless streaks of hot fudge here. Not to mention it's super cheap - like $2 and some change for a "small" which is a TON of ice cream. The Handel Pops are also really good if you're feeling like something a little smaller. Can't speak for the milkshakes, etc. since it seems like a crime to mix the perfect ice cream up in a blender with some milk and water it down like that. I'm originally from York and tell everyone about this place. I also may or may not have taken a cooler full of pints back to DC with me to stock my freezer on numerous occasions...

I love Handel's and am super psyched that I now live within walking distance. The ice cream just tastes handmade - creamy consistency, pure flavor. My current favorite is Graham Central Station but you really can't go wrong with anything you try. I've never actually gotten a sundae from Handel's, but I'm realizing that will need to change soon. There is almost always a line - even in the fall and spring - but it's so worth it.

Yum. If you are in York, go. If you are lactose intolerant, go. If you are on a diet, then definitely go. Some cheats are worth it!

Super psyched on Handel's. Delicious flavors, great prices, and pleasant service. Spouse like a house ice cream and deep dish apple pie as a milkshake were especially impressive.

I checked this place out while in York and have to say it was well worth the trip. Such a nice way to spend a summer nite that we went back the next nite for more! I ordered the cake batter and strawberry cheesecake - both very good. The next nite I tried the graham cracker and that was delicious. We also had the caramel apple which was very good. The only thing is I would not put any syrup on their icecream, it's better on it's own where you can really taste it. Very cool that they have benches where you can sit and eat your treat.

So delicious. You can't go wrong. Seriously. One time when I was about 13 I ducked out of soccer practice to run down to Handel's while we had a water break. Even coming back up doing windsprints, Handel's is delicious.

Great ice cream flavor selections, decent prices ($2.19 a scoop!), decent service. My personal favorite so far for ice cream places. Handel's really has a loyal following. Check out the lines on the weekends. I just wish it was closer to home, but maybe that'll keep me from gaining weight! LOL!!

Decent outdoor ice cream place. The price is right, 4 scoops for under 4 bucks is not too shabby. All the blended flavors usually have some pieces of fruit or syrup in it that adds to the deliciousness. A good place, but certainly don't travel too far for it (unless there's nothing else in your area).

I am a fan of hand dipped ice cream and LOVE the apple crisp flavor and the oatmeal and raisin one.. yum. The ice cream has that smooth non grainy texture and there is just a few dozen varieties to choose from. Great little ice cream shop and generous portions.

If Mack's is packed, try here, just down the road a piece. Really good ice cream!

A nice warm spring day prompted us to head south for some ice cream and a chance to take willow, our dog for a ride. We originally stopped at Beck's, but since they weren't open on a Sunday we chose to go to Handel's. The place is conveniently located off of 83 and we walked up to get our ice cream to go. The list of flavors and options -cone, hurricane, waffle cone, monster shake and dishes were easy to discern on the menu with easy to read pricing. I picked a Reese's Peanut butter cup hurricane for her and I had a key lime milkshake - the wait was short and prices were comparable to DQ chains. She commented that they used the Reese's name but don't actually have them in the dessert - overall the dessert was still tasty, though. I absolutely enjoyed the Key Lime - I ordered extra thick but it didn't seem to matter since it was melting by the time I got into the car. The flavor of the Key lime was really good and it had crumbled graham cracker pieces in it so it reminds you of a Key Lime Pie. There were other flavors that piqued my interest like "Elvis" which I was told is a banana and peanut butter combination. They also have Coconut cream and raspberry truffle to name a few. I was very pleased all around with the taste, service, location convenience and they have their own benches with their name on them to take a while to sit and enjoy the weather with your treat - recommended highly!
