Breakfast is basic, you basic bitches. Many of these reviews are infuriating. This place is so consistent. There's no way to make my eggs over easy more exciting. What do people want from a breakfast spot? IF YOU'RE GIVING VICKY'S THREE STARS THERE'S SOMETHING WORNG WITH YOU, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. So zip it, go to Vicky's when you're hungry for breakfast food, and tell 'em Big Texas sent you.

Fresh hometown food! The staff is lovely. And the meal speaks for itself. Clearly someone has the skills to pay the bills. A dime gets you like a half hour parking. A quarter gets an hour! It's a small place so remember a crowd isn't always the best. As for the food, just eat it! How wrong can you make breakfast!? It's the most important meal of the day

Quaint little place. Feels like an Irish lady made you a great homemade breakfast!! I had Dots French Toast, whole wheat bread, bananas and blueberries! Yum!! My hubby had the cream dried beef, it was also really good! This was my first time here, I'll be back :)

When you walk into Vicky's you smell warm coffee. The waiters are very nice. I would recommend having sausage, banana hotcakes, and orange juice. You get your meal in about 10 minutes and the cost is low. I think they have very good service. I also like the way you pay. At the beginning you get a check with your meal so you know how much it costs at the beginning and when you finish you go up to the counter and give the money to the person there from there on you can leave whenever you want. Decor I like the tables and I also like the way the restaurant is arranged. When you walk in to Vicky's to your left is a row of tables and big mirror next to it. On your right is the counter where someone is working, about 3 tables, and the door to the bathrooms with a very nice fan. There a bunch of funny signs on the wall and they make me feel welcome. Location The location is in the lovely town of Swarthmore, if you live in the area of Swarthmore college it will be very easy to bike to. The address is 417 Dartmouth Avenue Swarthmore Pennsylvania. The parking is fairly nice. And also if after you have lunch at Vicky's and after you need to get some groceries, Vicky's is right next to the local CO-OP which is very convenient. Nice Breakfast Dishes 1. 2 banana hotcakes 2. sausages 3. orange juice Peace Out.

Vicky's Place. Nested in the quaint borough of Swarthmore, it's everything you expect from a basic diner. I've come here for breakfast quite a few times (it opens quite early. 7am?) with friends when too lazy to make breakfast for myself, and I haven't had a bad experience here yet. The food is quite standard. There's nothing you can't easily make with the basic ingredients. The eggs, pancakes, fries, everything. I don't mean to devalue this diner's offerings, it's just that there usually is a dish in every restaurant that is seen as its staple, it's unique offering. There isn't anything like that at Vicky's (at least to me.) The price is very reasonable, expectedly. Toast and scrambled eggs go for ~$4 here. The service here can be spotty. There's one waiter on the job, and even when it's not a busy morning (as in my friends and I are the only customers here), she seems to walk past us without any consideration. Also, she also has a habit of having lengthy talks with other customers, namely the elderly. I am perfectly fine with that, but one shouldn't let conversations get the in way of service of others, especially in a restaurant setting. Oh well. There aren't really any comparable offerings nearby (maybe the nearby but more expensive Hobbs Coffee), so Vicky's definitely has found its niche here at Swarthmore.

There is a good reason why all of the reviews are 3 stars: this place is completely unremarkable. I've come here a number of times and the food and the service never fail to be perfectly middling. When you don't feel like making your own breakfast (or, like most students at the college, you don't have kitchen supplies to make your own breakfast with), Vicky's is a good place to go. Much cheaper and more predictable than Hobbs, but not really outstanding in any way. Nifty Fifty's in Folsom serves better breakfast with a more interesting ambiance, so go there if you've got a car and aren't super hungry.

While I can not give Vicky's any sort of high praise, I can also not give it any criticism. I would say everything at Vicky's falls somewhere above mediocre and below good. Decent, maybe? The food is basically the quality of stuff I could make at home except with less hot sauce. It's good for when you're in Swarthmore and need something quick but are sick of pizza and can't afford a fancy sandwich. It's not just the food that's decent, though, the service and prices also are. The waitresses are kind but since there usually aren't many diners they can also be a little overly eager to help you. The prices are low, but it doesn't feel like a great bargain eating here. I feel like if Vicky's came up with some exciting original recipes or added a little something extra to all their basic dishes they could be even beyond good, but as it is they sit at decent.

We had a decent simple breakfast (eggs, toast, coffee, etc.) here and appreciated that the pricing was reasonable. .

Visited: Saturday - May 30, 2015 - 11:30 AM I was briefly deceived into thinking Vicky's Place was a large room until I recognized the wall-sized mirrors that created the illusion. There is seating for approximately 20 patrons. I occupied an empty table in the rear of the room. I ordered the cream chipped beef and black coffee. My chair faced several vintage clocks and posters with iconic quotes. The floor was in dire need of washing. The cream chipped beef arrived with a heaping portion of fried potatoes and onions. The cream chipped was very good. The owner indicated that one slice of American cheese was the defining ingredient. The coffee was pleasantly robust. The potatoes were good but, the characteristic onion flavor was indistinguishable. I will return.

I've seen this place for years and didn't know what to expect. Had breakfast here on a cold morning. Everything was perfect and coffee was hot. This is a small, plain place which seemed to be full of locals and/or regulars. Best blueberry pancakes I've had in a long time. I can't wait to go back to have them again. New favorite hideaway for coffee and a paper. Affordable and friendly. It is a great for a good solid breakfast. Had breakfast here again. It was late on a Sunday and the crowd was mostly, if not all, Swarthmore College kids. Completely different than weekday morning crowd. Had Dot's French toast with bananas and blue berries. It was awesome. My friend really liked the chipped beef. Staff was really nice and efficient. My new cozy breakfast spot! Yum.

We love it here, the breakfast is always good and staff is great! Only draw back? Cash only...which is a mild inconvenience. Highly recommend for a good and hot breakfast!
