Best meal in the Poconos in all our trips! In fact, it was so good that we came back the following day with a group of 8! We were meeting our real estate agent down the street at the ReMax office and ran here for a quick lunch before looking at houses. Otherwise, we probably would not have found this place since it's not off Rt 209. It's a lot less busy here but even on a Friday at 11:30am, the parking lot of this place was packed. On our second visit, we came back that Saturday around 3pm and that's probably the better time if you have a larger group. The Tuna Melt was everything I could have asked for. The thickly sliced bread was crunchy. The tuna and cheese were oozy. The cole slaw on the side was delicious (I almost forced the rest of the table to get cole slaw the next day). The dinner rolls were warm and we asked for a second basket despite many at the table being on carb free diets. When we came back with friends, everyone all but licked their plates clean. We ordered everything from the Fish and Chip to the Hamburger Soup to the Steak. Everyone (all picky Manhattanites) finished their dishes. Prices are very reasonable. Dish sizes are on the large side (I had leftovers both days). Our waitstaff both days was phenomenal and we plan on being back often!

Ate at this place last night. What a disaster. It was moderately busy for a Friday night. But nothing extreme. My two children, husband and I sat down for dinner not realizing what was about to unfold. The waitresses were yelling, slamming things and arguing loudly with the kitchen. Using profanity in front of customers, especially with young children is completely unacceptable.

DO NOT EVEN DESERVE THE 1 STAR BUT I CANT POST WITHOUT GIVING A RATING!DO NOT DESERVE ANY STARS! Would NEVER go there again! Went after East Stroudsburg university graduation and there was 12 in our party and a waitress walked up to us and said she knew a restaurant down the street that could seat 12 and laughed. What waitress or restaurant would turn away a big check and tip and think being a smart ass is funny!! They lost out because we were celebrating and are big toppers! Instead went to Olive Garden and best service ,were happy to have us and sat us right away and wait staff very appreciative of our big tip ! NEVER AGAIN WILL EVER EVEN GIVE A THOUGHT TO GOING HERE NOR WILL ANY OF MY HUGE FAMILY!YOUR LOSS!#

Passing by, needed lunch around 3pm, found Besecker's on Yelp and with 4 star reviews...... Classic diner. Although I think the tile work may be as old as I am, (don't ask!), the service was fast and very friendly. Menu was typical diner, went for the liver and onions, (one of my faves), with a side of Italian wedding soup, and mashed with gravy. Soup was pretty darn good, although meatballs were just pieces of larger ones. Liver and onions (with BACON, of course!) done just right, and mashed and gravy standard diner, but good. Would have given it 3.5 but Yelp won't do it on my cell

This was a FANTASTIC diner experience! The food was served pipping hot, and there were a lot of interesting mixes from the traditional diner menu. It lost a star because the waitress recommended the rice pudding, and it wasn't so great. Kinda watery and no cinnamon.

Amazing breakfast. Fast friendly service. The corned beef hash is so good. The biscuits and gravy are only on the Sunday menu, but also really good. Omelets are great too.

This was a great find. After the weekend in camelback tuning we found this diner. There was adults and children that added up to 15 people and they were most accommodating. The waitress and the host(maybe owner?) were very friendly. Great atmosphere great food. We all had a great breakfast!

What a find on a rainy weekend day. Staff were super friendly, especially with our kids, and the food was delicious. Mikey Mouse pancakes were a big hit, and the four cheese omelet was perfectly indulgent. Stop by, even if you aren't a Yankees fan.

Great service and incredible selection of melts. Highly recommend the Gold Rush Chicken Tender Melt. You have to make the trip.

It's a diner. It's in the middle of nowhere. Everything is as it should be, eggs, pancakes, bacon, coffee was a bit chalky. So it's not awesome but it was perfect on a Sunday morning after partying until 4 am. Granted we did show up with 19 people and busted their normal flow. If you're there and need breakfast, then go ahead.

We have been coming here for years. Everyone is very friendly but the place could use a good scrub down with some bleach. Rarely do we ever have a issue with food there. But not too long ago, I ordered the turkey burger. I took a bite if it and just happened to place it down and the bottom of the bun was moldy. I quietly told the waitress and she replaced it for me. I was a bit surprised though that even after she mentioned it to the owner , they didn't take it off my bill. Instead they gave me a free slice of pie which I really wasn't interested in.

Food was good. Eggs were ordered over medium but came out pretty over easy- luckily I am not too picky about that. They forgot my hashbrowns and the service took so long. I didn't blame the waitress because she can't control the kitchen but 5 people ordering eggs shouldn't take almost 40 minutes- especially after we stress that we are in a rush. But the food was good! Like, way better than 99% of diners here in NYC. I can see myself frequenting this joint since I am moving to Stroudsburg. Coming from NYC hashbrowns and eggs for 3 bucks is heaven. omg.

This diner is a real find. Their daily specials are pretty much prepared from scratch making this place a gem. I can recommend their hand carve turkey sandwich with a side of coleslaw, the manhattan clam chowder, the beef barley soup as well as their stuffed cabbage. The wait staff is pleasant and efficient. The decor is so dated that its currently qualifies as retro. Many locals fill up the tables in this spotless restaurant. Enjoy your visit.

Why aren't there more diners like this?? We came here on our way back from renting a house for new years with 15 people. The place is pretty small, but they seated us all together and were very occomidating, even though they had tons of locals who go there every day waiting. The food: I got the Crispy chicken melt, with cheese and house sauce.....5 Stars! Everything about the sandwhich was great. Fresh chicken, good portion, well toasted The battered fries were one of a kind. So good and so addictive, after I finished my huge plate a scavenged others left over fries. The stuffed french toast, with sweet cream cheese, was perfectly fried and sweet. The chili was really good as well, a bit under seasoned for my taste, but the taste was still on point. Oh, and of course the diner coffee is important to me and makes or breaks a diner, and in this case made it! Not only was all the food on point, but the prices!!! Seriously?? for 15 people we paid the cheapest bill I have seen in my life The staff was also really friendly and attentive, even though we had 15 people to take care, which does not seem like a daily occurrence for them

If you are looking for a diner with friendly service and good food at a reasonable price this is it. We stopped for lunch as we were driving through to Washington DC. The chili was excellent, lots of meat, nicely spiced, with a little heat. The pork bbq was good, tasty and on a regular hamburger bun. The chicken parmesan sandwich was also good, nice size chicken breast perfectly cooked. We will definitely go back when passing through the area.

Great food, the fact that the owner is a Yankee fan makes it all the best. The food here is home cooked and out of this world. The prices are amazingly cheap and the wait staff is very nice. Every time I go to the Poconos I eat there. Try it when you are in town and you will not go anywhere else.

Solid service, but I question the cleanliness and the integrity of the kitchen. Went here for breakfast with the wife and my two boys. One of my sons meals had a few hairs in it and my eggs were dangerously undercooked(I asked for sunny side over medium). When I informed our waitress about the eggs, she apologized but then returned with the same eggs with a couple char marks and a look to them that made me nauseous. They didn't charge me for them, but that nice gesture was not enough to excuse the unsanitary way they initially tried to rectify the issue. Definitely not a place I'd feel safe to eat at again.

Since we're here on vacation we decided that we wanted to eat at local places. Why eat at franchise restaurants when we have them back home right? After reading the reviews for Besecker's Diner we typed the address into our gps and headed on over. Being pregnant limits what I can eat. Many of their items included deli meats which I am not supposed to have. After sulking about not being able to eat their turkey melt sandwich I decided on a grilled cheese with bacon & tomatoes. I got a side of fries with gravy & cheese too. The hubby got the Big B which was a burger that had swiss, bacon & bbq sauce. It was like a delicious home cooked meal. My favorite grilled cheese yet! Hubby's burger was amazing. He got it well done so I could have a bite as well (how sweet, right?). Usually when a burger is done well, it becomes tough. Not this burger though! It remained nice and juicy. Those gravy & cheese fries were surprisingly tasty. They had what looked like swiss cheese & were smothered in brown gravy. We got two pieces of blueberry crumb pie for dessert. It was so tart & the crumb was crunchy & sweet. I wish we had thought to get two different pies because I am sure they all taste so wonderful. Don't be too surprised with the service. It seems like a small town place. Servers kind of stood around talking and eating but we never went without our food or drink refill so all is well. ;)

It's exactly what you think a small town diner would be. My boyfriend and I stopped in yesterday for an early dinner and walked with mixed reviews. I went with the Gold Rush Chicken Tender melt with beer battered fries and absolutely loved it. It was a simple meal, an they nailed it (from the perfectly toasted sourdough bread to the melted cheese on the chicken tenders). However, my boyfriend's chicken and waffles left a lot to be desired. If you're looking for the typical diner fare then stop in. The service is a bit slow, but very friendly.

Came here with 15 people, which by the looks on the faces of the staff, does not happen often. Still, they accomodated us quickly and were very friendly and attentive. I had the crispy chicken tender melt with fries and it was a 10! My friends got the chili which I tried and I'm a bit biased towards it because I think chili is supposed to have some spice and a more robust flavor; it was more like a bland chili soup. Other than that, everyone seemed pleased with their meal and I would definitely come back.

We are avid diner patrons, but this should not even be grouped into the same category as a diner. Went on a Sunday evening. The food was basically heated up from the freezer. We had open faced turkey and open faced meatloaf sandwiches, and the kids had pancakes and French toast. None of us finished our meals. I only had about two bites of my open faced turkey. The turkey (described in other reviews much differently) was dry, and the potatoes were like paste. The entire plate was so salty I couldn't even force myself to eat it. Even the 2 yr old wouldn't even his beloved "panpakes" $33 and tip for the meal, so the prices aren't awful, but the quality is terrible.

So after a long day of snow tubing and snow boarding at Shawnee Mountain, we had to sleep. The next morning, wallet a bit smaller from the mountain, we decide to head to Besecker's (4 people) as per the good reviews on yelp! :) Coming in, there isn't much organization for who's been there first so I had to step up in front of the townies who know everyone and let the hostess know we were here first, she looked at me like I had something on my face. We didn't want to wait behind people we were here before so, too bad! We were seated in less than 10 minutes then were asked by the hostess what we'd like to drink, our table had a raspberry iced tea, coffee, and 2 apple juices. after about 5 minutes, the waitress was prompt to take our orders then the wait was on to get our food. It took about 30 MINUTES for the food. Well worth it however as it was delicious we had french toast, eggs, bacon, corned beef hash, and their "FAMOUS PUMPKIN NUT PANCAKES WITH APPLE" this was okay on my part, the rest of our party didn't agree, we ordered 2. SO FINALLY a GIST, Okay food, slow service, AMAZING PRICES... Must have :)

Only reason I'm giving it a four-star rating is bc it's a diner. My Gf and I stopped here for dinner after a long day of skiing and got exactly what we needed... Including breakfast at 8 pm :). Highly recommend!

There are so many better places than this for breakfast! The ham had so much fat and grisle in it i could mot eat it. Coffee tasted like it was burnt. Eggs were runny. Dont know why this place was busy, though it was busy with a senior, heavy-set crowd.

I would say this place is consistently good. The service is always polite and fast and the price is normal diner prices.

Okay, so I have a thing for diners. For the record. (Incase anyone is like five stars? For a diner? The just make me happy...because I'm WEIRD.) My boyfriend and I stopped at this one on our way through town, and it's one of the best I've been to lately. The food was a lot better than I tend to expect from a diner, and the prices were super reasonable. My boyfriend and I got our meals with coffee and dessert and our tab was only $23. My boyfriend got the pumpkin pie and it was a little bland, but I would definitely recommend the homemade cheesecake it was awesome.

The service was very slow. I thought perhaps they were understaffed but came in the next morning and it was slow then too. The food is very good. I had the meatloaf dinner with mashies and broccoli. all delicious. Took a piece of yellow cake with chocolate frosting for my hotel room snack and it was soo good. The next morning I was back for breakfast and had a short stack with a side of bacon. so yummy. Big portions.

After we moved to the area, we shopped around for a favorite diner. This one is dependable, fast, and friendly. And cheap--Four of us stuffed ourselves for breakfast and I think the tab came to $33. Yum indeed.
