Staple of the community for decades. Try the steak ribeye sandwich and wings, dry, sauce on the side with extra celery. Mhmm.

Cheesesteaks are good. While some people think Genos and Pats are "trash" (HILARIOUS!), the Train stop ISNT this hidden land of the lost spot with the worlds greatest. I grew up in Schwenksville and now live in the city. The Train Stop is in fact a great place to eat but not really comparable to Philly steaks. Note; Pats and Genos STARTED cheesesteaks in Philly sooo........not sure how that could be considered a "tourist trap". If you think Moccias (no offense to Moccoias) cheessteaks are better than Philly cheesesteaks, then you simply have the taste buds of a dung beetle. Bottom line; GREAT food for SCHWENKSVILLE, but that's not saying much.

I recently had a party that was hosted by a business associate. The theme was Italian. I stopped into Moccia's for a dessert party tray to go with the theme. The team there was incredibly accommodating, making a fantastic tray of authentic Italian desserts. Needless to say, it was last minute, I had not pre-ordered, they were awesome and the attendees of the party LOVED and RAVED about the peanut butter pie and the fresh tiramisu and cannolis!! Thank you so much!!

A nice place for breakfast and/or brunch, right off the Perkiomen trail. You'll likely wait for a table, but the cheap eats are worth it. $3 for a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich hits the spot during a 20+ mile bike ride. You know I'll be back. Although next time I'll have to make sure I bring CASH.

I like going to Moccia's for dinner. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Their cheesesteaks are really good. Moccia's is a great place to eat!

Ordered a large plain pizza on Thursday, 6/21/12 during dinner hour for takeout. What a disappointment. Paid $12.70 and felt I got ripped off, the main reason...there was a small amount of cheese mostly sauce and soft thickish dough!!! And a bit under cooked too. So never again.....espeically in the economy. You can always tell how go the pizza usually will be is when they hand you the hot...if it feels light...the toppings will be light. I go to this place on and off through the years and it used to be the best....sad to say, but I have take my pizza fix business elsewhere. But on a positive note, they do make a good steak sandwich and nice fries.

Having just moved in up the road I was told to try the cheese steaks, and I'm glad I did! So it was new to me that train stop puts there little twist on things using garlic bread for the rolls of the steaks which turned out better than I thought. So figuring I'll be a long term customer I started ordering different things from the menu. So tonight I tried the veal parmesan and I really enjoyed it because it was overwhelmed with sauce and had a little crisp to it! I will keep you posted on the other items on the menu.

A booth with a view on a snowy afternoon added to the cozy atmosphere. Staff was polite and service was good. It was not busy. My husband and I each had a burger and we're not impressed by the quality. Low quality frozen burger done well and was greasy tasting. The fries and cole slaw were an added extra. Fries were good, cole slaw was ok but served in a plastic take out cup with a lid. Not much for presentation. Tried the salty Carmel vanilla crunch cake. You could tell it had been frozen, cake dry Carmel hard except the added fresh drizzle on top and the crunch was stale...no crunch. Disappointed. I really wish one have us tried something different. Pizza looked good. Would stop again but only to try something else on the menu. Really want to like this place.

The only thing better than the food is the service. Ask for a Sue S when your there. The parking is very convenient and prices are right. You over look the Perkiomen creek while you eat. Love this place.

I enjoy coming here when I'm looking for decent Italian food and don't want to spend a bunch of money in the process. Portion sizes here are on the larger side! The place is often pretty busy on a Fri/Sat evening and they don't have a large waiting area. If it's nice outside, you can sit outside while waiting for your table. In addition to the dining room, there is also a small bar area that you can eat at while watching the kitchen do their thing. Service is friendly and typically pretty quick. Kids may enjoy watching the model train go around in the one room. The track is actually suspended from the ceiling. You can dine-in or get take-out. We often get pizza here but have also had a few of their Italian dishes like their spaghetti and cannelloni. I've never had a bad meal here.

I grew up in the area and this is a local gem. Always friendly service and great food. The prices could come down a little, but I'm willing to pay a little extra for quality. I read a review on here from a gentleman who said his cheesesteak was not a REAL Philly cheesesteak. If you want the best REAL Philly (wiz wit) steak, go to Jim's on South & 4th in PHILLY!!! But if u don't have the time for the drive, Moccia's will come pretty darn close, and I mean 9/10.

I live not even 5 minutes from this place, and I'm glad I do! My boyfriend and I discovered this place driving home on a snowy day and saw they were open. We stopped in for lunch and was greeted by friendly staff and a homey atmosphere. The food was great too!

Always have to get a cheesesteak when I'm in town! I grew up in Philly And now live in Ft. Lauderdale area so I know good cheesesteaks especially since the imitations in Florida are a joke! Moccia certainly gives you a quality sandwich! -Nick D

Great food - horrible take-out service. No QA. The last 6 of our 8 orders were wrong, and we didn't discover until we got home. They'd get a 5 star rating if they started to care about service quality and reliability.

My sister and I had just finished a 10-mile hike on the Perkiomen Trail and were famished. We staggered into Moccia's and ordered. She had the stuffed portabella mushroom and I ordered the chicken salad on greens. The chicken salad was marvelous. Home-made style on a bed of greens. I was so hungry that I asked the waitress for an extra scoop and was surprised and pleased that they only charged an extra $1.75! The table afforded a sunny view of Swamp Creek. My sister ate every bit of the mushroom and there was no need for a dishwasher for either of our plates. I'll definitely have to try their heartier Italian fare next time I'm in the area.

Growing up around Philadelphia, I've eaten more than my fair share of cheesesteaks. From Pat's and Geno's over-rated and over-priced tourist garbage to Jim's on South, which is pretty good, and then John's Roast Pork and Steve's Prince which are both among the best in the the city proper. I have to say, however, that my personal favorite cheesesteak of all can be found in sleepy Schwenksville at Moccia's Train Stop. It starts with a hard roll that is slightly chewy with good texture and strong enough to withstand the juices from the steak. (I always hate it when the bottom seam of the roll breaks apart). Said steak is always cooked to perfection, steaming hot and tender, slightly seasoned, and with just the right amount of grease-- never to the point of being offensive or overwhelming. Always with fried onions, provolone, and sauce. Keep it simple and original. That's really all this review can discuss because I've never felt the urge to order anything else from Moccia's. I've had their pizza when someone has a left-over slice, but every dollar that has made the journey from my wallet to Moccia's cash register has gone towards a cheesesteak. FYI, if they ask whether you want a regular or large sandwich, be aware that a regular is a foot long and a large is 20 inches; yes, over one and a half feet of heaven wrapped in foil which is pure lunacy because their 12 inch regular cheesesteak requires an enormous appetite to finish. I guess perhaps the large would be good to split between 2 people.

I moved to the area four years ago, and have passed here on my way to work everyday.... But never stopped in. Stopped for dinner last Thursday, with the girls from my neighborhood, and had the Lobster Ravioli... Probably the best I have ever had. Prices are reasonable and service is quick. Will go again!!

Seriously I don't understand the raves about this place. The pizza is like rubber with some sort of sugar tomato paste slapped on it with canned mushrooms. The cheesesteaks are just hot garbage with cheese product. The food is truely disgusting.

Been there multiple times with small family and multiple families. Average menu varierty, always good service, always a good meal, always good pricing. The train up top is neat to watch while eating.

With the heat I find myself craving some creamy icy goodness. Moccia's is tucked away in Schwenksville and one of my favorite ice cream stops. Even better is the Perkiomen trail goes right by Moccia's and make this a sweet place to make a pit stop during a bike right. We only have ice cream here and I always get the Graham Slam in a sugar cone. Have not had food and the reviews seem mixed, so I may just stick with ice cream.

I still remember my first Moccia's cheesesteak like it was yesterday. The roll was perfect Conshy perfection, the cheese like a warm velvet patina on perfectly seasoned and grilled steak....ahhh, memories. That's all I have left of Moccia's. It's not what it used to be...rubbery steak, different rolls (Amorosos...meh). Their pizza has to be one of the worst I've ever eaten. Sorry Matt, sorry Helene, but you really have let things go. It used to be a warm and friendly place...like Cheers where everybody knew your name. I guess having to pay for a larger place you had to skimp on some things...the food shouldn't have been one of them.

Ate lunch here for the first time and had a great experience. Casual menu and atmosphere, pizza, hot & cold sandwiches, pasta and even some seafood. They even have a few craft beers on tap. Prices are very reasonabe, a couple of sandwiches, two beers and fries was on around $23. Staff was friendly and helpful. Eat in or take out. I'll be coming back to try dinner here soon.

I discovered this place from BF's parents. I have only been "in" to pick up carry out meals, so I can't say much about waits, table service, seating, etc. BUT what I can say is WOW about their BBQ Chicken Pizza. WOW to their hot ham & cheese. WOW to their mozarella sticks. Everytime I eat there, it just hits the spot. Definitely great food. From the sandwiches to the pizza, breads, and more. Their menu is very extensive and they have alot of 'sides' to offer at great prices. We got 3 meals and a pizza and managed to only cost about $38. Not too shabby comparitively to TGI Fridays, Ruby Tuesdays... PROS: Parking lot is super easy to get in/out. Seperate entry for carry out pickup makes it really fast to get in and out of there in an instant. Usually 15 minute turnaround on order to pickup. GIrl who takes the orders via phone is awesome at writing them down accurately and fast. CONS: None I can think of so far! Maybe offering a smaller pizza than 14"?

Great family-owned place. The pizza is a hit with my family and the pasta portions are HUGE (I usually end up taking 2/3 of it home with me). Try the Seafood Rosa!

Best cheesesteaks in the area by a pretty wide margin. Always a sucker for their Garlic Bread Cheesesteak and their Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

Great food. Quiet atmosphere during the day, but really slow service. Don't be a hurry when you come here. Wait staff is exceptionally nice. Stuffed pepper shooters are outstanding.

Our daughter and son-in-law discovered this place when some friends invited them to join their family for dinner. It's about 10 miles up the road from where they live. I was surprised to see that just driving 10 miles away brings you to a semi-rural area. Our daughter had to work one night during our most recent visit. Both she and our son-in-law recommended that we all go here for dinner while she worked. Apparently our son-in-law likes this place so much that when the kids finished watching a tv show at 4 p.m., he immediately got them dressed to go to dinner LOL! We ended getting there about 4:30 p.m. on a Friday night and the place was just about full! Still, the friendly hostess was able to accommodate the 6 of us and we were seated immediately. Moccia's Train stop is A-Ok. While their pizza isn't the best I've ever had, it's far from the worst. Their pizzas are baked in conventional ovens which is evidenced by the lack of charring that's found on wood-fired or coal-fired ovens. The crust is thin with a little crisp to it. I found the tomato sauce to have good tomato flavoring with no hint of sweetness. We decided to start with an appetizer that our daughter and son-in-law had raved about. It is called "bruschetta caprese" and, as its name suggests, it's a hybrid of the two dishes. Chopped tomatoes mixed with onion and garlic are placed atop a lightly toasted piece of Italian bread, then topped with a piece of fresh mozzarella. It is finished off with some artfully drizzled balsamic vinegar. This turned out to be a tasty appetizer. Given the time of year, the tomatoes weren't as ripe or as flavorful as they are at the peak of their growing season. I can only imagine how much better it would be had the tomatoes been in season. My husband and I decided to share a 14 inch Margherita pizza. This was an unusual Margherita as it had plum tomatoes on it, in addition to the tomato sauce. We should have read the menu description more carefully. The only cheese was put on the sparsely placed tomato slices, which I found to be stingy. The basil portion was generous. Again, an A-Ok pizza. The kids shared a 16 inch white pizza which consists of mozzarella, garlic and onions. Our daughter doesn't like them having pizzas with tomato sauce as it can get messy for them. I was surprised to see that they each ate 2 large slices, leaving 2 slices to take home. Our son-in-law ordered a 16 inch spinach pizza which consists of spinach, mozzarella, and garlic. He ate 2 slices and brought the rest home. After all, our daughter insisted on this as she said she wouldn't eat dinner at work so that she would have room for the pizza! All in all, between the kids' pizza and their parents' pizza, we ended up bringing back a whole pizza! While our daughter and son-in-law concede that this pizza isn't as good as a good coal-fired oven pizza (they both love Grimaldi's pizza!) they say it is the best pizza that they've found locally. Not having had any other local pizza I can't say for certain but I'm guessing that they are both correct. My husband and I agree that if they want to go back when we are visiting, we wouldn't object. After all, it's A-OK!

A very nice Italian restaurant. The the meals were huge and from the eggplant parm to the spaghetti and meatballs quite yummy. Our service was good ( six diners ) and I'll add the restaurant was very busy. It's nice that an area with a number of small towns has a real Italian restaurant. As busy as the restaurant was, they have a " to go" side that was packed. Very enjoyable dinner. Their salads were good and the dressing was homemade. Try it!

Our friends recommended the Train Stop, said its the best pizza around. They are right! We all went there tonight (Friday), it was busy of course! They do not accept call aheads or reservations which was fine, we only waited about 20 minutes. We sat down and studied the menu, I ordered a glass of Chianti (it was delicious!). We decided on the Special and the Bruschetta Apps (Bruschetta drizzled with an amazing aged Balsamic) to start. Fresh Mozzarella was an element of both and it was great! Moist, fresh...forget the rest, I could have had Mozzarella for dinner! We ordered the kids a 16" plain and for my husband and I a 16" Spinach (Spinach, onion, garlic- I asked for extra garlic of course). The slices were huge, nice and hot (the roof of my mouth can attest). Gooey and cheesy without dripping grease. Our boys devoured the pie, we have intentional left overs. Great value for the quality! Family friendly and a very scenic location, just be prepared to wait for a spot- parking is limited. We will definitely be back and look forward to bringing my parents!

There are actually quite a few pizza/steak shops in the area, and for years this place has served consistently tasty eats. Im another "philly guy" so i've tried many a pizza and steak, and i have no problem saying Moccias is up there in the rankings. I've gone there so many times over the past decade they have my food waiting for me by the time i get to the counter!

Cozy atmosphere and very busy. There were lots of families with young kids for a Friday night. I decided to try one of the veal entrees. The Veal Saltimbocca was covered in brown gravey - way too much for my liking and there was very little spinach. They served a generous side salad, and a big bowl of pasta with it, so no need to worry about going home hungry. I think if I go again, I will stick to pizza and sandwiches.

I've been going to Moccia's for a good number of years now. Here's my take on things. It's a cozy place with friendly service and a family owned atmosphere. The food is very good overall though I do have to echo what another reviewer said in that their cheese steaks used to be amazing but something definitely changed and not for the better. The cheese steaks are nowhere near as tasty as they used to be. Also the pizza is just so-so. Everything else here is excellent though. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get as the portions are fairly large, especially when it comes to appetizers and platters. They get some serious lines here waiting for tables at peak dinnertime (5-7) on Friday's and Saturday's. So be warned that you may have up to an hour wait for a table if you come at that time.

Pasta dishes are decent. Sandwiches are very good and fries are awesome. They can occasionally be very busy, so be prepared to wait at times. If the pizzas were a little better I would give them 5 stars.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
