What a great lunch for a beautiful saturday afternoon. This was the first time my wife and I have tried Jakes way back burgers. Service was quick and kind, our lunch was delivered to the outside table we were sitting at. The food was perfect just what we wanted, we both liked it way better than 5 guys. Thanks for a delicious lunch!

We came here on a Thursday night just before 5 p.m. At that time, the place wasn't very busy. That changed as it got later. It's clear that it is a popular place. Jake's Wayback Burgers started out in 1991 as a single burger joint in Newark, DE named Jake's Burgers. All their burgers are hand-made and are never frozen. In 2010, the owner decided to change the name to Jake's Wayback Burgers to remind people that their burgers are made like they were way back when. Now, it has become a chain with franchises scattered across the country. The ordering system works this way --- Upon entering, you go to the counter and give your order. If your order includes soda, you are given cups so that you can get your own. When your order is ready, the staff brings it to your table. The menu offers up more than beef burgers. There are veggie burgers, turkey burgers, salads, hot dogs, milk shakes and grilled cheese sandwiches among the many offerings. The adults in our party ordered the Jake Burger (two 4 oz. patties) and the Jake cheeseburger which, according to the clerk behind the counter comes with "orange cheese". "Orange cheese" --- describing cheese that way is somewhat off putting. I pictured some strange chemical creation that passed itself off as cheese. In reality, it looked and tasted like American cheese... We also had "side orders" of fries. Two of the grandkids had a kids burger and one had the kids hotdog. Kids meals come with fries. The burgers were decent---not the best I've had yet not the worst either. My husband found them to be too greasy, which had me thinking that there must be a fine line between a greasy burger and a juicy burger. Either way, I suspect that they use a high fat hamburger meat (maybe chuck?). They also offer a good selection of toppings at no charge. There is a 50 cent charge for mushrooms and chili. We all stuck to the free toppings. We would consider going again. After all, our daughter, son-in-law and the grandkids liked their meals plus the place isn't too far from where they live.

Stopped in here for lunch for the first time and overall, thought the food and experience was just OK. I like Five Guys burgers much better! It took the food longer than I would have thought to come out--close to 15 minutes and the restaurant wasn't overly busy during our visit. Onion rings were good and we liked their house sauce, which was a mix of BBQ sauce and mustard. Meat on the burger was a bit thin and didn't have much flavor. In the end, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Since I started eating here,I haven't tasted a better BURGER! Hamburgers are my absolute favorite food, and I judge every place by how good their burgers are! I am very picky,it has to be completely 'Well done' and no pink spots. I don't know how Jake's does it,But I always get a perfectly done burger that's still juicy and not dried out! I also love that they have a special burger of the month,so you can get your "usual' or try something new! Jake's also has a special shake of the month. I'm not to big on milk shakes, but theirs is good. I recommend that everyone try their hamburgers once!

It's okay. Nothing special - basically a suped-up version of Wendy's. Seems to be all 16 year olds running these places, and it shows in the quality of the food and lack of care. If you like your burger's sloppy, over-priced, and mediocre - Jake's is the place for you.

Pretty good burgers at a really good price. Lots of different toppings to choose from, and plenty of burger alternatives. My only complaint is service is a little slow. Other than that, this place ranks right up there with 5 Guys. This place gets a little bit of a higher ranking mainly because of their toppings, and also because they special burgers of the month which are usually pretty unique and tasty. Not too mention, their milkshakes really hit the spot too.

Waaaay too expensive for a burger a fries. Not all that impressed with flavor or quality. I know we're going to drop $35+ for my boyfriend and I to have dinner, which is just too insane for an "ok" burger and fries.

The food was good and the staff was nice but not very engaging to somebody who's never been there. No recommendations what so ever. Interaction with other customers was polite as a little girl dropped her cup on the ground and the staff willingly gave her father another one. Food was good and you can see the staff prepare it. So there's no complaint on that side.

I have been to Elevation Burger, 5 Guys and now Jake's Wayback Burgers. Jake's burgers are pretty good but not as good as Elevation's and has a smaller selection of toppings. Jake does have the best fries of the 3 chains and do offer onion rings and milk shakes also. I would recommend Jake and Elevation and I do not recommend 5 Guys. I do not understand all of the hype and excitement over 5 Guys.

The burgers here are good, they haven't perfected the burger but they are better than typical fast food. They can be a bit on the dry side but I think it depends on who is cooking since we've had perfectly acceptable burgers as well. The fries are good but best eaten immediately not once you get them home. I haven't had a milkshakes but my children have and they enjoy them. The service can be painfully slow for a burger place or pretty quick, again, it seems to be related to who is working. The one thing I can say is that this place regularly participates in community fundraisers for schools and families and that is the main reason we keep coming back.

I have had really good service and really bad service. It depends in who is working.

The very first time I ate there it was Love At First Bite. The staff, friendly, courteous, and all about professionalism and real Customer Service. I was totally blown away by their eagerness to please, & the fact that they were so young, yet so on-point with their organization, cleanliness, friendliness, and professionalism. There are so many businesses of all types that give much less than desired service, but, not at the POTTSTOWN Jake's. The entire staff is marvelous. Whatever you partake of, from the menu, you will be delightfully satisfied.

Better than fast food. Good burger and fries. Fun monthly burger specials. Also enjoy the fried fish. Good hot dogs. Decent shakes. The prices are a little high for a counter joint. Friendly service. I call in my order and then go in 10 minutes later to pay and pick it up, so I do not have to wait. Overall, good for a counter joint chain.

The food is great, but there prices are high for what you get. They are a small shop with maybe seating for about 30 or so. They do have take out and you can order online for fast pick-up. I had one of there burgers which was out They are located in a shopping center with plenty of parking for the stores.

Very clean place, food was great, and they were fully staffed. We were a party of seven and we all got our food at the same time. I recommend this place. We will definitely eat here again!!

This place is just...okay. The chocolate malt I ordered was not very flavorful. I think I have had better at DQ. It's dissapointing because their claim to fame is "real milkshakes". The dining room could have been cleaner and as far as the burgers... They too were underwhelming. Not bad, but certainly not great. If you have a craving for a so-called "gourmet" burger, head down to a Five Guys. The prices are similar and the product is higher quality and MUCH tastier.

Not bad for a chain, but the service is slow and sometimes the burgers are dry or cold.

I know the recent "hamburger craze" has yielded several restaurant expansions (Five Guys, Elevation Burger, etc) but this place just didn't do it for me. My burger was way too dry... A good burger has got to drip with grease when you squeeze it. Not so here. I watched the kid at the grill pushing down on the patties with all of his might while they were cooking. Just not a good method. At that point, I wondered why I hadn't bought ground beef at the Giant across the way and grilled my own. Fries and onion rings were also just so-so. This establishment ranks far lower than the aforementioned Five Guys and the amazing Elevation burger.
