We were taken there on Wednesday for dinner and I *highly* recommend it! I had the lobster & crab bisque chowder special and the scallops & gnocchi with creamy basil sauce special (which included a house salad & bread) and my husband had the chowder & the parmigiana-crusted salmon special. Our host ordered some bruschetta for the table - and although I was way too full for dessert, I couldn't resist ordering the white chocolate peanut butter pie (which I was able to take with me because our hotel room had a fridge). The pie was good, but not great. Otherwise, however, the food was truly *outstanding* (the house salad was nothing special, but it was redeemed by the delicious creamy garlic dressing). The service was very good, too - and prices were what I consider to be moderate. We met the owner as we were leaving, since he knows our host - and what a nice person! We were surprised to see the parking lot so full on a weeknight, but then we discovered they have a Wednesday night special ($25 for dinner for two, with another $5 if wine is ordered). Of course, there are only certain items on that menu. Note that the restaurant is only open for dinner, and even then it's only on Wednesday through Saturday (5-10 p.m.).

extremely noisy! staff rushes you to leave when your finished eating. I was never impressed. small portions for the pricey menu.

First time here. Wow. Calamari which I normally don't like was outstanding. Filet was very tender. Wife had gnocchi and scallops. Best meal locally in a long time.

love Love LOVE this place!! The menu and wine selection is simply amazing. Great food, great service. Seriously, what's not to love? Not to be confused with "cheap eats" -- this is a quality resuaturant; menu is priced accordingly.

Odd place, the kind of place I picture from the late 80's or early 90's that your grandparents or parents have gone their entire lives. My wife said let's keep driving when we pulled into the lot, I should have listened. There isn't much in the area so I suspect for the area it's the "place to go" but we went for drinks on a recommendation and it's not necessarily bad but it's nothing special. I would guess the food is good but the atmosphere is "old and stuffy" and the drinks although raved about where "meh" but still pricey especially for the area. Guessing the serve a niche and aren't going to change... I'd suggest just moving on and heading into Selinsgrove.

Best fine dining in the Shamokin area. Good steaks and escargo (yum!).

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
