Real basic place with character. Very long beer list and some interesting concoctions for food. I was happy with the Kielbasa over fries bowl. Plenty of food and good taste too. Very pleasant waitress.

Don't ever come here if you're staying at a hotel near this bar after a wedding. They refuse to serve you more then one drink if they know you came from a wedding because they've had one "bad" experience. Spend your money elsewhere !!!

Much better than expected! The locals rave about the sandwiches and the wings so I went with some buddies from work. The pastrami sandwich was very good with good slaw and nice fries (not too greasy). Added a fried egg for some extra fun. Also had 5 wings with Buffalo ranch and they were decent. Wings were a little small but nicely crisped and sauce was more heat than ranch which was fine by me. Friendly service and good prices will make this a returner

From the outside this place doesn't look like much. Upon entering I was pleasantly surprised at a bright, friendly atmosphere. It is a seat yourself establishment, and it was very busy the night we were there. We got lucky and a table opened up quickly. This place was LOUD. I couldn't hear my husband who was sitting across from me, or the waiter. Their craft beer selection is impressive. Drinks were a bit slow to arrive. We ordered, then waited quite a long time for our food. My son was given a full size chicken fingers and fries, even though we ordered from the kid's menu and he's only 4. We were charged full price but the bill was adjusted when we mentioned we wanted the kids size. The chicken fingers were bland and unimpressive. Chicken and breading, no seasoning whatsoever. I had a Pittsburgh-style chicken salad. It was also unimpressive. There were more fries than lettuce in the salad. Fries were also bland. My husband had a sandwich that he said was okay. All in all, very loud, and the food is overpriced, bland and unimpressive. They have a nice selection of craft beers, but that's not enough to earn our return business.

Not a composite review. I had been hearing of this place, and it popped up in Yelp as local to my daily travels. So I stopped in yesterday at noon. From the outside, it does not look like much -- certainly not a fancy in-your-face chain cookie cutter place. But, once inside, it falls into place nicely. A 12-14 stool bar with a nice assortment of craft beers (draft). Perhaps 18 tables in the center and on the side. A kitchen you can see into... (which I like). And 2 tall coolers of craft beers -- the selection is very different than what Bocktown has -- and in my view, better. Ordered the "wraps" -- chicken. It was excellent. Service was fast and accurate. Had one of the draft beers -- The Ayinger. Cold in a clean glass -- served immediately with none of the wimpy glasses that Bocktown uses. An actual thick glass that was cold. friesandslaw.com See the photograph. The classic, local enterprise where everyone really knows everyone. Visit the WWW page and look around. This is an unexpected find -- barely off the road on Broadhead. f8 and be there.

Justin said I need to give back by doing a review since I found this place through Yelp while road tripping in Philly. They have great reviews on their Pittsburgh sandwiches that didn't fail our unadventurous palates. I ordered the Hines Ward sandwich and Justin ordered the Arnold Palmer. Their appetizer platter is the bomb. Great samples of everything fried: zucchini, jalapeño, fried mac and cheese and mushrooms. Dudz ordered the chicken wings platter and worked well with his Hefeweizen beer and Jaden, the grilled sandwich. Overall, I recommend this place especially to picky Asian palate like Dudz.

It's a bit noisy and always full, but in this instance, it's a great thing! Large portions at reasonable prices. Tasty food and friendly service! It might take a little while to get your meal, but you can always have one of their many beers on tap while you wait.

Got a takeout buffalo chicken sandwich. Which was pretty solid. Was definitely not that spicy and they went overboard on the fries in sandwich.... but i gave 4 stars based on the enormous size! An overall value. Place is def worth checking out if ever in beaver county. Until i try other menu items i give primanti bros. The slight edge

...this is a great place that serves the "Pittsburgh" style sandwiches. As far as size these are about 1.5x the size of Primanti's. Great on tap beer selection and they have the prices listed! (This seems to be the only place in Pittsburgh that does this.) Everyday they have the beer list updated with information about the brews on tap.

The place is as strange as a place can get away with in Pittsburgh. I expected a bar atmosphere but I'm not sure what it is. But I guess I get surprised frequently when out of NJ because they sensibly sell alcohol most everywhere you eat. There is a bar and it looks like it belongs in someone's basement. But the beer selection is fantastic unlike anyone's basement I've ever been in. The walls are adorned with banners of band fags. I'm sorry but back in the day, long before PC, that's what we called them. And we never used that word the way it's depicted today as to rival the N-word. But I digress. Tables were filled with families which surprised me again since I expected a bar atmosphere. The music was teen pop and mellow indie mix. At first, before entering, I thought I might end up staying here if it was fun. I know I will eat and run but that's ok if it's good food. The menu is bizarre to me but I settled on a salad that was fresh and crispy iceberg and the Heinz Ward Sandwich. From my understanding, it will be lean pastrami with provolone, cole slaw, fries and everything in an Italian roll. Side of gravy if the fries fall out. So the sandwich came out huge! Guy Fieri DD&D's huge. 5" high huge...but disappointing. The bread was sliced not a roll. Not a problem but 1" of the profile. The slaw was the next 3/4", the fries were 3" and the remaining 1/4" left to the meat. My math right? If not the point is there was no more than a 1/4", maybe 5 slices of thin but lean pastrami. If my eyes go foggy back at the hotel room watching the Grammy's I know it's from the carbs overload. And at $9 a sandwich that's a high margin dish. I can say I tried a Pittsburgh Style sandwich but I wouldn't order another one if this is indicative of the ratios. Btw, if you're reading this and you're from Pittsburgh, try out a Jewish Deli or diner anywhere in NJ or NYC and that's a pastrami sandwich Heinz Ward would want his name on it!

I was kind of let down by this place. I got the steak pittsburgh style sandwich. There was not much meat, too many fries, and the cole slaw was dry and bland. The wings were very average. The pluses were the hot pepper cheese balls. Best I've ever had. The drink prices were also very fair. The fries were your standard tasty fresh cut fries. The service was also very good. I might give them a second chance. One day.

Best version of the Pittsburgh sandwich, Primanti's created it but Bowsers perfected it! We come here frequently, service and food are consistent, it is a little wait in comparison to other places but if you want a good sandwich it's worth it. I always order mine with NO SALT, their fries are over salted in my opinion. As far as their other foods, the bowls are really good and salads are decent (I don't care for the cheese they use in the salads). Homemade ranch dressing is awesome and the sneed sauce is perfect. Wings are very good. We usually take our out of town visitors here for at least one meal, so far everyone of them is anxious to come back! Good spot to catch the game with friends!

Pittsburgh style Sandwiches(bread, meat, cheese, slaw and fries) are good. Have good salads as well. All of the sandwiches and salads are named after famous Pittsburghers. Have great beer selection. We don't eat at the restaurant often, but we get takeout. Think sandwiches could use a bit more meat, but they are very good.

Not a fan. Decent beer selection, but that's about it. I got 3 small chicken fingers and a pile of greasy oil saturated fries for 6.50. The fries were inedible. Mostly everything else I saw looks like Sysco institutional grade food.

Very friendly atmosphere! The food was excellent! I would recommend this place to anyone. We had several employees come to our table to ask how we were doing and if there was anything we wanted and or needed. The meal size was huge and we left knowing that we had something to eat.

They have an amazing chicken salad. The only thing I didn't like from there were their spaghetti and meat ball for $5.00 on Wednesday's.

Their wings are THE best! Meaty, crispy, and cooked with whichever sauce you like! Also, their fries are not too shabby! Beer selection is amazing for where it is located... little dinky area in western Pennsylvania. Good place to take the kids too! Very kid-friendly earlier in the evening.

Good food and beer. Sandwiches are fresh and similar to Primati's with slaw and fries or ask for on the side if you like. The cajun chicken salad is good. Love the pastrami and some others. Most I like but just like Primanti's the steak and some others are not my favorites (of course isn't that true about most restaurants, need to order what you like and what they are good at)

Kay is going to behead me for giving Bowser's 4 stars and Primanti Brothers 5, but it all came down to one thing that I'll discuss later in the review. You see, like Primanti Brothers, Bowser's also makes sandwiches with fries, slaw, and Italian bread with a variety of meats to choose from. I got the RoethlisBURGER, which is a burger done up Primanti's-style, I mean Bowser's style, and like I do at PB's, I got mine with egg. What a wild, all-lit-up-again cousin PB's has in Bowser's. It's seemingly an even bigger sandwich that Primanti's, with fries not just on the sandwich but all over the plate. I will own up to finding that the fries are even better than Primanti's. They are not soggy steak fries but rather are similar to "O" fries. You know the drill: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. That's how you make proper french fries. Bowser's pretty much has it down. The burger itself was a luscious enough patty with a slice or two of American cheese melted perfectly atop it. Who needs to grate the cheese? Sure it gets ooozier, but I'd rather my burgers have a slice draped over it. It just seems right. Maybe it's an aesthetic thing for me, I dunno. Now here's where Bowser's fell before Primanti's in my controversial opinion. The slaw was but an afterthought. In fact, I had forgotten until I was halfway through with the sandwich that it was supposed to be slaw and not merely shredded lettuce. There was no zip, no pep, no sass. It was as quiet as a librarian. I will say that the service is friendlier, but bear in mind that Bowser's wasn't nearly as busy as Primanti's. It's also roomier and has a state-of-the-art jukebox that I managed to play some UFO songs on as we ate. I'll also admit that I'd probably feel more comfortable coming here on a Saturday night than to any Primanti's. Primanti's has an air of danger and attitude. Bowser's? Not as much. Bowser's will throw a chair out of the window and into the pool below. Primanti's will throw himself out of the window and make it into the pool below. Primanti's is the streetwise city rat. Bowser's is the country mouse. Bowser's is to Primanti's what Demolition was to the Road Warriors. Or Helloween to Iron Maiden. Soilwork to In Flames? Fridays or SCTV or Mad TV to Saturday Night Live? In other words, they are a worthy imitator, and well all know how it is with imitation and flattery. There are even Bowser's t-shirts for sale. Mmmhmmm...

The past couple times I have been here the wait for food has been very long. However we comped drinks the first time and given an appetizer the next. They always have specials including wings, pasta, etc. They are somewhat of a knock off of Primanti's but the portions are much larger and they have a wide variety of beers (that also happen to be well priced)
