In the past, the likes of Pizza House and Westfall Family Restaurant (the previous ventures to Yanni's World Delight Restaurant) gave me little to no reason to return (especially for the pizza that both places attempted to push upon its clientele). The items on the menu were standard fare and often left me questioning, "Why didn't I merely settle on Perkin's?" (which is in the same parking lot). With Yanni's World Delight conveniently located beside the new movie theater (Majestic Cinemas), the restaurant should capitalize on the eventual business it will bring in, as it offers an outlet for Pike County residents to try some tasty Indian cuisine. My wife and I tried Yanni's on the Friday of Delaware Valley's (the local high school's) prom. Inside, it was packed (it also happened to be opening night for the aforementioned theater). We perused a menu that was long on choices (what can be expected from a placed called "World Delight Restaurant"). My wife settled on a gyro (which she raved about) and I enjoyed a french onion soup (particularly memorable) and a cheesesteak (made with whiz, something I hadn't enjoyed since my experience at the renowned Pat's in Philadelphia). The cheesesteak was easily the best I have had outside of Philly. We enjoyed "service with a smile" and know for certain we shall return as often as we can. It certainly is cheaper and more appetizing than Perkin's (all the Milford area really has had, outside of Stewart's--also very good--in Matamoras, as an option for affordable family dining). Additionally, as a teacher at Delaware Valley, a group of teachers and I ordered a few pizza pies from Yanni's (personally delivered to us by the head chef and owner, Yanni/Mohammed). The pies were on-par with Roma's Pizza (something THAT restaurant specializes in! Side note: Roma's offers the most dreadful customer service in the area, if not the worst I've ever experienced...contrarily, Yanni's customer service was far more to my liking). The personal touch of us greeting the restaurant's owner as we retrieved our pizzas was both poignant and refreshing. In all, Yanni's certainly has my attention; I regard it as one of my favorite places to eat in Northeast PA (this coming from a previous resident of the Scranton and Milford areas). Can't wait to go back and try some Indian food (I have yet to hear anyone bash this part of the menu, friends and acquaintances alike!).

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in the adjacent parking lot. The food was surprisingly good. The staff was friendly and service was great. I was standing outside of the restaurant reviewing the menu while reading their reviews on yelp and the owner came out to greet me. I was a little apprehensive at 1st. But the service and food quality was more than I expected. Two thumbs up. Very affordable

Food was very good and very fast. They have a good selection as well. I had stuffed salmon and it was delicious.

DW and I were looking for something a little different from the norm and also looking to support small business Saturday :-) My parents had mentioned this new "Indian" restaurant that had opened in the KMart plaza in Matamoras. DW loves her blue light specials so we thought we'd do a two-fer. So this place would be a prime candidate for Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares... It's difficult to tell what this restaurant is going for. First of all it's situated in a strip mall and it has a diner like feel when you walk through the door. There is a little bit of everything on the menu. From Breakfast to burgers, and everything in between. Italian, Greek, Indian, hence the name of the place "World Delight. We went for Indian so that is what we stuck with. We shared Cheese Pakora for our App, DW and I both went with chicken Tikka Marsala for our meal and a couple of pieces of Garlic Naan on the side. The food was tasty. Naan was maybe a little bit overdone. I really think this place wants to be an Indian restaurant but they probably fear (with good measure) surviving on Indian alone in Matamoras. Saffron in Middletown is by far still my fave Indian restaurant in the Metro NYC area. There isn't much selection in the Matamoras area so I'd give this a shot if your in the area.

It's not an Indian restaurant. Not a Greek restaurant. Not an Italian restaurant. It's an EVERYTHING restaurant, and cannot be judged by the criteria of any particular ethnic restaurant. Go to this restaurant when you want some of everything. Everything there is delicious. Delicious food. Unique dining experience. Unpretentious staff and cheezy decorations.

The food is okay but the service is lousy. My Fiance and I went there for dinner one night and had the worst experience. Apparently they were short handed wait staff that night. Everything from water to food was a long wait. Ironically they sat us close to the kitchen so you would have thought that we would have been served quicker. I like the guy that runs the place but I have no desire to eat there again.

This place is local for me, and to be fair, I havent tried the Indian food, but they somehow managed to screw up mozzarella sticks, french onion soup and a chicken ceaser salad. The food looked and tasted like it was prepared out of a freezer. The soup tasted like water with a floating piece of bread. The other customers seemed like this was a big night out and some were very loud and rude. On a plus side the staff was really trying hard. I won't be back.

The food was edible at most. I chose an Indian dish and my boyfriend got a Mexican burrito. My chana masala tasted nothing like traditional Indian food, and was so salty I had to send it back. The burrito was lousy. The service was good and the waitress was very friendly but the sanitation and lack of servsafe practices are questionable.

Usually a restaurant with a huge menu that tries to have something for everyone is awful. This is a rare exception. I pretty much stick to the Indian selections when I'm here and I have never been disappointed. The Mulligatawny, The Curries, spot on! You should dine here often to support this treasure... we NEED some ethnic food options in our Tri-State Area!
