My wife and I stopped there after a nice bike ride at Riverfront park on a Wednesday evening. The food was mediocre at best. We sat outside, it was nice how they had it set up but there were a lot of flies. Service was good. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Went to Shank's Open Mic nite and was very pleased with the food, the ambiance and the music. It's a great little place....loaded with history ...a one of a kind

My wife and I were staying at a bed & breakfast right up the street and dropped in a couple of times during our stay. Very cool atmosphere inside, with good beer selection and good food, all at an affordable price. They had live music one night - a local blues group that was excellent. A really cool spot that I'd go back to in a heartbeat if I ever visit Lancaster Co. again.

Are you kidding me, 4.5 stars. We were served on paper plates. No fryers. Subpar food. Not worth even 3 stars. Stop in for a craft beer and then go to McCleary's for dinner.

Shank's never fails to satisfy. Great food, tonight's special is beef on weck, great drinks, good ambience and excellent music! Highly recommend.

Great beef on Weck! Tacos on Wednesday are great too. $1.50/ taco and fresh tomatoes. Chips instead of fries, no fryer. Beer selection is decent but a bit pricey. 200+ years means you're doing something right though. Live music in Thursday was good.

Great place, fantastic tequila selection for a tiny town, and reasonable prices. What turned me off was the extremely fishy taste in the olive tapenade. Did something go bad? I wasn't sure, but I wasn't about to finish it. I'll be back for more tequila tasting. Yum.

Pretty cool little place. I was there on Seafood night. I was surprised by the diversity of the menu. Each night they serve something completely different. Crushed some mussels and the gyro was quality. It has lots of history that can't be faked. I believe its the oldest continuously running bar in Lancaster. It also has a deck which would be cool to check out in the summer. Also tasted some sushi which was pretty good. The staff is 'homely' and the perfect place to sit with friends and talk. No 'clubby' or dance floor crowd. Just good folks. They played old skool R n B tunes the whole time, which I found odd, but it actually works and refreshing since you don't hear it a lot. If I lived in the area, I would certainly give it another try.

Went to Shank's with eight friends the other evening. Very nice experience, and we all agreed it is worth return visits. Food is excellent "pub grub" and reasonably priced. Interestingly, if you just drove by, likely you wouldn't stop. Sort of rough looking, but clean and friendly inside. Two hundred years old, so it's okay to excuse the ouside looks.

Had a great time with Captain Morgan's Relay for Life team raising money for the cause. Food and atmosphere are wonderful.

Shank's is one of the greatest bars I've ever come across. Seriously. The food and booze is very reasonably priced, the service is good and friendly, the beer selection is not huge but really good, and the food can be truly tasty. Check out sushi Fridays! Also check out the live Blues jam on Thursdays...fabulous. FYI: this bar is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Check out Shank's! It's friendly, fun, and just plain delightful.

My co-workers and I unofficially held a few Happy Hours here (Domestic drafts/bottles for 1.50??? How do you go wrong?). I'm not sure if I've ever spent more than 20 bucks buying a round here. I was always pleasantly surprised at my bill at the end of the night. So if you're one to get wastey face and become overly generous with booze then have a DD drive you out to Marietta and visit Shank's! The bar is looks like a quaint house on the outside but step inside and it still looks like an old house but there's a huge bar in the front and some sitting areas in the back. This place is usually lively and the bartenders are friendly. One of the things I like about Shank's is that although it is a "Locals" bar. They aren't exclusive... which is more than what I can say for the bars along Front st. They have TV's to catch your favorite sports teams and a dart board for those who feel that they are coordinated enough to throw sharp objects across the room while intoxicated (I guess I never understood why these are in bars). A lot of the food seem like they're from frozen food packages, I would stay away from them. Except maybe Taco wednesdays....

Shank's is just awesome. Great place to meet friends, hang out, have a beer (always a hefe on tap). Just an overall friendly place owned by Bob, one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet
