The food at Pop's Deli is out of this world delicious. Generous portions on the sandwiches. The quality of the food is above par. I love to take friends to Pop's and have them see the quality of the food served. This is a Deli so if you want a sit down restaurant this is not the place for you. There are two tables. BUT there is a lovely park nearby so order your sandwiches and take them to the park. Then walk off those delicious calories at the park. I love Pop's and highly recommend going there to eat.

I have gone back and forth on whether to review Pop's for a few months. I guess I got something to say about them after much debate within my complicated, conflicted, and sometimes crazed self. First, let me say I was absolutely excited that a New York style deli finally came to the area. I have often believed that, given the right location, one could work in the Lewistown area. So, a short while after Pop's opened, I stopped in to get some sandwiches and subs. I wanted to check them out. Upon walking in, I started looking around and checking out the menu. There was a group of people in front of me. I decided what I wanted and placed the order. I was a little shocked by the prices. Compared to other local sub and sandwich shops, I think they are on the pricey side. I didn't really check out the prices on their deli meats and cheese. So, here is the deal. I ordered what I thought were simple things. It took about a half hour to get my order. The group in front of me wasn't exactly huge. So, I would expect a little quicker service. The subs and sandwiches were good. The dressing and ingredients were fresh and done just right. These were crafted with hands that care. In that amount of time, though, I talked to the owners as they were getting my order ready. They are both charming and really fun to strike up a conversation with. That is really why I hesitated to write this review. I really want this place to work. I really want them to carve out a nice niche in the local market. Eventually, maybe reviews like this will help them improve. But, hopefully not too much. I really don't want another Subway or Sheetz. So, for me, if they pick up the speed a little and maybe drop the prices a little bit this will be a big win. Bottom line, here it is. Pluses: quality ingredients, friendly owners, good location, big city deli style, made with care Minuses: price, wait for food, very few adequate seats for in dining experience I will continue to go there in hopes of improvement. I like the local feel. But maybe I will call ahead next time.

Finally a high quality deli in the area! Pop's deli is the place to find good quality meats and cheeses that they will slice/chip to order. The quality of their products far surpasses the deli counters at the local supermarkets. Pop's also sells made to order specialty sandwiches and hoagies! All the sandwiches are loaded with freshly sliced meats and cheeses. The home made dressings and horseradish sauce add to the eating enjoyment of their sandwiches. The price may be slightly higher than other "sub" shops, but it is worth it! In addition to the food served part of the fun of going to Pop's is the humor and conversation with Pop and his wife. We also enjoy ourselves bantering with them!! You won't be disappointed.

Great Italian sub w/Pop's homemade Italian dressing: fresh, had a nice touch of spice/heat & was nicely-messy because it was packed with meats, cheeses & veggies. Very reasonable, too: total cost $5.77 for a 6" sub & bottle of water!

I am a fan of Pop's deli prices (much cheaper than grocery stores), but the sandwiches are ok at best for the price. Very messy because they put chopped tomatoes on top, and they quickly fall off. The mac salad is not very good, but the baked potato salad in good, but quite pricey. The owners are nice, but don't go if you're in a hurry, minimum of 15 minutes to get one sub. Also, they don't do deli platters even though they're a deli?
