My friend & I wanted to have a nice dinner out while she was visiting. A friend recommended Gabrielle's so we took his advice. We went in the restaurant, it is a big size place but only 2 other people were in there. The décor is extremely outdated. The one gentleman told us the place used to be popular & busy but now it is pretty much always empty. The food took forever to come out. I ordered the chicken parm which was ok but the sauce tasted like it came right out of a can with no seasoning to it. My friend ordered the lobster tail & the price on the menu said "market price" & below it said $17.95. She kept saying the lobster tail did not taste that great but for $17.95 it's not bad (she liked the mashed potatoes, the green beans she said were spongey). But then the bill came & it said $30.95 for the lobster tail. We asked to speak to the manager but the owner came down to talk to us. He said the market price changes & we explained the menu is not clear & should state something to the point of "see server for current price". We explained that it is misleading, was completely out of our budget, & could have went somewhere else cheaper. He did not care & would not budge on matching the $17.95 price on the menu, did not offer to give a dessert or something in it's place or anything. Had the menu been clear we would have never ordered the lobster tail. The server was ok, but the owner was rude. What was supposed to be a nice meal out, ended being a huge disappointment and we truly regret wasting our money.

Calling the décor retro is a euphemism for they haven't updated since the eighties. The service is good. There are so few customers you have your own private butler to serve you. However, the place is classy in a dated manner. Good white table clothes and fancy fan-folded napkins. Artificial roses in vases. It is pretty and romantic and attractive to an older person. The problem is this concept doesn't seem to attract customers in 2014.I am sure the lack of customers affects the food. The crudités were fresh and cold. The rolls were pleasantly warm. The house salad was also fresh. a little boring, but good quality and we liked the dressings. The soup was excellent. They can actually do duck with crispy skin and juicy meat. The other side is that it is difficult to serve some items fresh. Stuffed pastas all were straight out of a frozen bag (Celentano's?) Meatballs too. Almost every appetizer is some form of seafood that could be kept frozen until needed. The entrees had an old-timey selection. Nothing much you couldn't get in a pizzeria or diner. The desserts are purchased and low quality. And finally, the chef has a real thing for sprinkling the edge of every plate with dried herbs, which is totally passe'. I saw good things here, but I won't go back to this version. There is a cure. A relatively cheap renovation to remove the eighties décor and update the look. Do away with the tablecloths and fake flowers. Bring some color and character to the room. Ditch the fish tank which adds nothing to the restaurant. Stop sprinkling the plates. Re-do the menu to have fresh-made signature foods and a minimum of frozen food. Push the drink menu with attractive drink specials which will now be easier with the younger demographic hat the new décor and food will draw. Actually the place could be a family destination also. a la Friday's, Houlihans, etc. And one more thing, this place is neither easy to find nor does it effectively promote itself. They will need a print and social media plan to tell people they are open, new, and fresh. A new name could help. (Gaby's American Bistro??) I almost forgot. The red pasta sauce was inedible. It had an odd herbaceous taste that absolutely ruined the dish. Good sauce recipes abound.

Food is not good. Pretty bad actually. I couldn't even identify what they served me - it was nothing like the menu! That's all u need to know. If they took a fraction of the attention they put in the decor and put it in the quality of food and its execution, they would have a decent place. Disappointed.

Agree with other reviews. The interior decor is Retro. Also agree with volume of business. We entered at 5:45 and found a table right away.....why???? Glad you asked we were the only ones there. Waitress was prompt....why not she had nothing else to do. Placed drink orders and arrived ok. No specials of the day. Some veg. were delivered interesting there was not enough for each of us. Placed order, shortly the salads arrived and one French onion soup on the worlds biggest plate under the bowl. Did I mention we were the only ones there. During our salad or downtime the waitress just sat at another table. We waited for one hour for the main course, guess the kitchen was really busy.....really busy. Did I mention we were the only ones there. The food was good, but not fantastic. As we were leaving and did see the reservation chart....it was empty so you do have the ability to call ahead and make sure you can get setting. It was inexpensive for the private dining

I wish i could give it no stars. Went last night (a Friday) with my 2y/o and family visiting from CA. Our time was limited and see them maybe once every couple years. We got there at 5pm and the place was empty. The server took our drink and food orders quickly. We got plate of dry cut veggies and tasteless dip fairly quickly along with our drinks. Then we didn't see a server or anyone else for an hour and 20min. My Uncle asked the owner when he showed up where our food was and was told, "some other people showed up at the bar next door". Eventually there where 2 other tables filled in the whole hideously decorated place. They didn't bring more drinks at anytime we were there. My daughter was starving and restless. It was an hour and a half after we got there when our horrible food made its way to the table. I got the tuna with pineapple salsa. The side options were very limited, (potato, pasta or greenbeans, neither complemented the dish I ordered) I reluctantly and regrettably got the spaghetti. I've worked in the food industry for 14 years.. The tuna was over cooked and salsa was a joke. Definitely canned pineapple. My uncles lemon chicken looked discussing. The prices for the food, service and atmosphere was robbery. By the end of the meal the owner came over to make small talk at this point my blood was boiling. I never get to spend time with my family and this was a horrible experience. When we finally escaped this house of culinary horrors. My Aunt and I where approached out front by a man leaving the bar attached to the restaurant. He was obviously shitfaced and completely over served to the point he was almost unable to stand. He mumbled small talk, then got in his car and burned out of the parking lot. I could go on, but I've already put more effort into this review then was actually spent on there service to us... WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
