I love Pizza. I eat it a couple times a week, from everywhere - I do not exclude - local places, chains, make my own - everything, some are better than others, but each is his own. This placed seemed a little different which is always nice when you do eat so much pizza, so I gave it a shot. I ordered take out at 730 on a Monday and they werent super busy - The quoted me 15 minutes, but my food wasnt ready so I hung out a little when I got there - The place was super super dark, like a dive bar dark, with TV's playing the Phils game - there was covered seating outside which seemed where most of the people chose to sit, even though it was raining a little - and seemed to be a mixed crowd, families, single diners, a soccer team - They do have a little take out area in the back which is by the server station and the kitchen (which is partially open) - and the staff was getting on my nerves goofing around, being loud and all over each other - The food was done shortly, I got it home (I live about 2 minutes away) and it was pretty good - I do not like my pizza burnt, and while this had some char on it, it wasnt burnt - It was a little light on cheese and I thought it would be crispier but it was still thin and good. I got a side of foccacia and the wings, both I thought should have come with with some sauce on the side (lemon, garlic butter, mariniara, something) - The wings we different (my judgement is not great on wings, I never eat them - to much effort, to little food) and they were plump and juicy - I just thought some lemon would definetly help. I think it was a litle pricy, $30ish for those three things? The menu is very small but I will be back.

8/5/11, wifey and i were hungry and someone had recommended anthony's. the place was packed. we ordered a large broccoli rabe pizza with sausage. the cheese had good consistency but NO taste. there was a decent portion of the broccoli but they totally cheaped out with the sausage and this is the favorable part of my review. i had their ribs and they tasted boiled. the waiter did his job well and asked what i thought. i told him (worst rib consistency i ever ate). mgr came over, nice guy, tried to say they did everything right. i know better than to argue. left it at everyone has different taste. it seems to be a restaurant thing to never acknowledge a complaint's legitimacy. i worked for a deli as a kid and we served up RAW roast beef. customer complained, boss said people like it very rare. later, as a worker, i said to him the roast beef WAS raw. he said he knew that but wasn't going to acknowledge that to a customer. and so it goes but i wouldn't go to anthony's.

There are way too few places where you probably get a pizza with minimal cheese and maximal taste! One of the things though is - all their pizzas are 'well done' - which means, you might have to occasionally put up with their extremely burnt edges from the coal oven..!! Personally, I find their roasted cauliflower pizza to be the best and I have not probably had or seen many places that even serve a cauliflower pizza exclusively. Ambience is great for the most part. One thing though is - their cutlery seems to be a tad old and wish they could do some replenishment there! Excellent servicing as well.

Had the supreme (all toppings) take out and it was not good. The pizza toppings were so salty from the olives, anchovies, and prosciutto. Weirdest thing was that they baked the prosciutto, which you're supposed to have fresh. Paid $29 for the pizza and it went to waste, had two slices, bf and I each ate one and was too disappointed we couldn't eat another slice. Waste of money and calories.

Amazing pies. Thin, crispy, with just the right sauce to cheese ratio. I love their gourmet topping choices - finely chopped kalamatas (yum), roasted long hots, etc. The plain old pepperoni was even amazing - they really cover the pie with them! The wait can be long, but it's worth it.

This about 5 minutes from our new office and it was a good find! They have delicious wings smothered in onions that they cook in their coal fire oven. They also serve it with focaccia bread. You don't need any dipping sauces with the wings, which is a first. They have great lunch specials. I got the Anthony's Favorite and asked for balsamic vinegar. The only downside is that the waitress was slow with coming back to check on us after we go out food and it took 15 minutes to flag her down to get our check. If you're going For lunch, let your waitress know so she can provide you with the check earlier. It was busy, which this place is near quite a few business buildings... They should schedule accordingly.

They have amazing food! Its a nice location with nice interior decor. Waitstaff friendly and quick service. The pizza is great but I come for the wings. So flavorful and sooo good! This is quite a distance from me but I go when I'm in the area or need my fix of wings!

  • Kiel S.

By far, the best pizza I have ever had! The wings were very good and tasted like chicken that's cooked on a grill. The only complaint that I have about this restaurant is that it took someone 15 minutes to come over and get our drink order. She said that she thought one of the other waitresses already got our drink order. This wouldn't have bothered me so much expect for the fact that the waiters/waitresses/bus-boys and some of the kitchen staff were looking at the tvs watching the football game. May just do take out moving forward but once again, the food was awesome!

Amazing pizza. Also the eggplant marino was amazing. I would come back for that alone!

This place is awesome. Fairly inexpensive for quality food. The chicken wings (no ranch or blue cheese needed) and pizza were nothing short of amazing!!!!!

I ordered a white broccoli range from Anthony's yesterday. A mistake was made and wad not realized until I brought it back to work. My work partner is vegetarian and thec added sausage. He picked it off and ate some but was disappointed. I thought the price was a bit high, ( 28.00) but the young lady at the counter assured me that it was correct. After speaking to the Mr, Chip, he made us the correct order which was fantastic. Nice char with the bitter broccoli and garlic. He even refunded the initial cost for my inconvenience. Mistakes happen, but how a business corrects them will keep me coming back.

This review is for the pizza and cheese cake only. We had a sausage pizza and split a piece of cheese cake when we came. Pizza was good, a little burnt at the edges. The sauce, sausage and cheese were all tasty. Crust was thin and had a crispness to it. Yum! There are signs hanging up saying the pizza is well done and well...it is. You might get a pie that has burnt edges because of the style of cooking. I don't mind that. Some people might, good to know ahead of time. The cheese cake was plain, just typical cheese cake. There is an app you can download and get a free piece of cheese cake when you do.

Love the food but if you order take out you have to check, double check, and triple check EVERY time. Burned again tonight with only half an order of ribs and wings making it home.

These folks rock!! I consider myself a pretty good judge when it comes to pizza and these folks get it. The eggplant specialty pizza was amazing. You could taste the freshness of everything they served. Thin crust, crispy and just delicious. One of the biggest surprises is the staff. Most are young adults and very engaged in the customer service thing that is absent in many other establishments. Prices are reasonable as well. If you are in the mood for good pie, you owe it to yourself and your family. Enjoy!!

SOOOOO GOOD.... best pizza in the area hands down.

I used to love this place, but the last 2 times I've eaten there both the wings and the pizza came out burnt. Not sure what's changed, but definitely not for the better.

Just got a large pizza with three toppings and it cost over $24. I guess they are trying to cut costs because there was barely any sauce or cheese on it. they also put the toppings, sauce and cheese all in the middle, and left about 3 inches of crust! On top of that, they left it in too long and it was very dry. What a rip-off! Won't eat here again.

  • Caryn L.

I do not understand why the place is always packed. People must be coming for the bar. It is noisy, the service is rushed and when you finally get your pizza...It just isn't that great. IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE, and for what you are paying for it, you figure they could at least put a little sauce on, but no. The pizza is dry, even when you order it with extra sauce. The cheese that came with our salad was moldy, and although they replaced it, it was bothersome as we opted for carryout to beat the crowd. We wanted to like this place as it is conveniently located but the food is subpar and overpriced. Try somewhere else.

Really yummy pizza! The arugula and the cheesesteak are so delicious! At dinner, if you want a personal pizza just ask for a lunch size! I just wish the menu had some smaller plates other than pizza.

Pretty darn good coal fired pizza. Well worth the extra buck. Great customer service, good wings too very tasty!!

  • Jess C.

Maybe it's just me, but burnt pizza is not that good. I kept thinking if there were more sauce or cheese I'd like it better. This place seems to have a big following, I don't get it.

Fun atmosphere, tasty wings, and great pizza. Definitely try the coal fired wings. We had the cheesesteak pizza which was delicious but could have used some red sauce on it. I like that their menu is simple but they should add just a little more variety to it. Our waiter was friendly and timely. We will return.

When for lunch today. We got pizza, salad, and wings. The pizza and salad were great. Wing were plan, I like my with some type of hot sauce on them. Both over all was happy.

This is one of my favorite pizza shops ever. Hands down. All of their pizza is cooked in a coal oven, which gives it a crisp, smokey taste. They have specialty pizzas (we love the meatball and ricotta) or you can design your own pizza (pepperoni and sweet peppers is my go-to). The large feeds about 3 people and the small 1 or 2. Now on to the wings! I'm NOT a fan of traditional hot of bbq wings. These wings at Anthony's are my FAVORITE. They are just marinated chicken wings. And they are crispy without being deep fried! The salads are large and fresh and come with the option of fresh mozzarella or gorgonzola. They finally have beer on tap in this location. They also have a full bar. Sodas come in cans though. I wish they had a fountain. Yes this is a chain. But it's a chain done right. We are never disappointed by Anthony's!

Loved this place! Had the roasted cauliflower pizza. Incredible crisp and smoky flavor. Reasonable price of $22. Family member had the tuna sandwich. It was great and a nice portion. Beer on tap IPA was awesome and priced at only $3 each. Very reasonable! Will definitely go back!

The wings. Get the wings. The pizza is very good too, but the wings is the reason why we keep coming back. If it's cool outside, sit inside.... They have an infrared heater on the ceiling that will cook your head. Seriously. I had to wear a hat to keep from getting a sunburn. Get the wings. You will happy you did.

Most over priced pizza possible. We ordered chicken on the pizza - which they said no problem. Ended up being a "premium" topping costing 6$. Then we added peppers for half the pizza - small mind you, for another 2$ The check comes - just one number, no details. The waitress was unable to ascertain how the total was calculated so she had to call over the manager. Lack of transparency and no remorse for a new customer means we, and everyone we know will not be returning.

Great Pizza, best in the area outside of the city limits. The meatballs are awesome.

Was at a friend's house and we ordered takeout from Anthony's. I thought it was pretty good pizza for this area. We ordered: - large margherita pizza -- cheese and basil they used were very tasty, and they used a good amount of it. Actually, the amount of cheese made this pizza occupy the liminal space (to get all pretentious on you) between american pizza (lots of cheese) and Italian pizza (spots of cheese to accentuate the taste). The tomatoes were ok, but not my fav. The crust had a good char on it and a decent consistency. Overall, good pizza. - small broccoli rabe and sausage pizza -- this pizza was very good, but could have been a little better. My humble advice would be for them to blanch the broccoli rabe first to extract some of the bitterness. I felt that the bitterness really got in the way with this pizza. Otherwise, very good. - coal-fired wings -- these were excellent. I love wings that are not fried, and the way they cook them here really brings out the flavor. - salad - it was salad. The pickup experience was quick and easy. Food ready on time and ready to go. Total tab = $54. Little higher than you would expect for the area, but not bad considering the quality of the food. All in all, if you want fantastic pizza and you're willing to travel, go to Dimeo's in Andorra or Bufad in Center City. If you're looking for the best pizza you can get in this area, it may very well be Anthony's.

NO CONDIMENT POLICY This place has a real weird "our way or no way" policy in regards to food preparation. For example, their wings don't come with any kind of sauce or cheese to dip in. It does come with a pound of sauteed onions. According to our server, who was very honest and nice, the restaurant has a no condiment policy aside from the pepper flakes, salt & pepper and parmesan cheese on the table Had this policy been made clear here on Yelp I would've avoided this place. It's not necessarily bad, but it's not for me. By the way, the sauteed onions on the wings overwhelm the taste of the chicken. The traditional pizza tasted like burnt Ellio's pizza. . Side note: If you're a Dan Marino fan, you'll love this place. Lots of pictures of him with the owner and staff. Still doesn't make the food taste any better.

Even though we were told our party of 6 was going to have a 45 minute wait, it was actually about a 10 to 15 minute wait. The atmosphere was festive and the server was attentive but not overly. The wings we ordered were outstanding. They were not spicy hot but had a delicious blend highlighted by rosemary. The whole party enjoyed them. This was followed by 2 pizzas, one was a white pizza for our cheese lover. It had a delicious blend of cheeses. The other pizza was an Italian sausage and calamari olive pizza. The flavors mingled well. Both pizzas were the delicious coal fired pizza featured by this establishment. The restaurant had a variety of microbrews so choosing your favorite or one you have never had is easy. All in all my family and I had a wonderful and delicious time. Highly recommended.

I wasn't a fan of thin crust pizza but I am now! They way they make their pizzas reminds me a bit of my grandmother's. They don't load up the pizza with sauce but it seems that its just dabbed on here and there. The sauce was very very good! A full bar lines the right side of the wall as you walk in & they have outside seating out front. A plethora of framed pictures line the walls. This is a must try if you are in the area.

Understaffed cliche, with short pours, dirty beer glasses, blase fare, martini guzzlers, and old ladies e-vaping. You only end up here if you're on business and want to watch curling and drink scotch, or if you're stuck living in suburban hell.

Are you kidding me? A pizza chain THIS good? Yes, indeed. It was by far the best pizza I've had to date in this area of (Horsham, Willow Grove, Northeast Philadelphia). We had half an eggplant and half a spicy sausage, hot pepper, and caramelized onion cheese and sauce pie. The dough was burnt but still pliable. It was perfectly burnt. The toppings were also nicely charred, especially the eggplant and the hot peppers. The sauce was naturally sweet (no sugar added) and the cheese was bubbly, gooey, and stretchy. Again. perfect. We also had their coal fired rosemary chicken wings. Charred as well but perfectly done. As far as I'm concerned, if you're in the area and in the mood for pizza- you should ride on over to Anthony's. Any other pizza joint around here would be wasting your time, and even worse, your hard earned cash.

Everything about this place is outstanding. From the service to the pizza, you can't go wrong with any choice you make!

  • Holly R.

The pizza and wings are absolutely delicious. The pizza has a thin, crispy crust with a delicious sauce. We got half plain, half mushroom and onion. It came out hot, with gooey mozzarella. A+ The wings are oven baked with rosemary and caramelized onions, served with focaccia. They are perfectly crispy and hot (temperature-wise), but they were pretty salty. I've been extremely thirsty all night. Also, I think you only have the one flavor option, and if you're absolutely craving the deep fried type of saucy hot wings, these might not be quite what you want. Otherwise, definitely get them. The main reason I don't give them five stars is because their sodas and teas are from bottles and not the tap. I got a club soda, normally free from a soda tap, that cost $1.90 for the small 10oz size. That and the salty-ness of the wings.

ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL! (And the food is delish!) I stopped in last Saturday night. It was about a 25 minute wait, but everyone from the host, to my waitress to the manager was delightful. The wings are to die for, and the pizza made me really, really happy! Can anyone guess where I'm eating tonight? LOL! A must visit! Thanks for a great experience, AND tasty food!

I opened my first pizzeria at 23, spent 15 years in the biz, and have eaten at every "legendary" NYC pizzeria so, yea, I know my pizza. And this is good pizza. And the rest of their small menu is very good also, except for the meatballs which were disappointingly bland. The only better pizza in the area is that which I cook in my backyard wood oven, weather permitting. As a Jets fan, however, I am quite dismayed by the Dan Marino poster bedecking the entrance way. Screw that fake-spiking SOB. They have a pretty good craft beer selection and 1/2 off on beer Mon and Tues I think. Their table tent is misleading--it looked to me like it was offering 1/2 off both pizza and beer when only the beer is discounted. If you eat there Mon or Tues, be sure and act like you expected your pizza half off. One more nit-pick: their pillsner glasses have the largest false bottoms I have ever seen.

Been there a few times. The food is pretty good. The pizzas are "well done" in a coal fired oven. When they say well done, they mean that the crust is black and burnt. If this is how you like your pizzas. The flavor is excellent. Recommended.

My fiancé's dad works around the area and has been raving about Anthony's wings. We were in for dinner on a Saturday, the decor is pretty neat and the place is huge. We were seated pretty quickly which was great- if only they were as quick about getting our orders and having our food ready. Overall, the food is really, really good and the sizes are big. If only they'd get more servers.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner this evening. We were a party of 9 and were treated splendidly. We started with 40 chicken wings and they were phenomenal. We ordered 4 pizzas and they were all perfect. We had the pizza with cauliflower, the pizza with egg plant, the sliced mozzarella and tomato pizza and finally the regular tomato pie. I enjoyed a slice of each pizza and even more than one slice of the cauliflower pizza and the mozzarella and tomato pizzas. The food was served at a nice pace. We did not have to wait too long and they didn't throw the food at us. It was very nice. They also have a great selection of beers for those who enjoy something more than bud lite. Over all it was a very enjoyable evening with family and friends a great food. I definitely recommend you give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

We've eaten in here a couple times and had take a couple times. Pizza is good, albeit very salty and expensive. The wings are meh and expensive - $10+ for 10 wings (and they're not all the big pieces either). Service when crowded can be hit or miss (tonight, our daughter's plain pizza came out 10 minutes after our pizza with toppings - pretty inexcusable since it probably only takes 2-3 minutes in a coal oven). $20+ for a large pizza is on the high end, especially with the amazing DiMeo's not far away with better (though different) pizza at a better price.

I don't normally give five stars on one experience but I have no choice in this review. Everything was so damn good! We got 2 complimentary coal oven-roasted chicken wings (also a check-in special on foursquare) and I understand why they do that- I was ready to place an order for them, despite a pizza and sandwich on the way! We were strong and didn't, thank goodness, because I was so full afterwards anyway. I went with a lunch size specialty pizza called the Paul & Young Ron, with meatballs, sausage, hot peppers, and ricotta cheese- all I can say is WELL DONE (which is their theme- Well Done Pizza). It was great. I split it with the hubby and didn't get hot peppers on my side, but he liked them and said they were indeed, hot. The waiter was great about that, even coming back to warn me that the pepper juice might leak on to the other side, but it didn't and was fine. We also got this coal-oven chicken sandwich that is on their lunch specials menu and will knock your socks off. Marinated chicken breast topped with prosciutto, roasted red peppers, melted mozzarella, and arugula on focaccia bread with an Italian vinaigrette. It is seriously as good as a sandwich gets. They also have a decent beer list, great atmosphere, outside seating area, and the service was outstanding. Can't wait to go back!!

Good ingredients, ok sauce, and a burnt crust. Maybe it's me, but I'd rather patronize some of the local pizza joints than spend $20 on a "gourmet" pie that leaves me less than impressed.

I am a pizza snob born and raised in Queens/Manhattan, so I'm quite selective about my pizza. This place hits the mark with some of the best coal oven/wood fired pizza joints I've visited. Perfect crispy thin crust pizza, well done. Oven roasted wings were damn good -- a refreshing smoky simplicity about them. Attentive, friendly service. Only area that could be spruced up is their dessert selection. Only cheesecake was offered.

While their choices were slim, particularly for my daughter who is wheat free and dairy free, we really enjoyed what we got.

The wings are a great deviation from your typical wings. salted and roasted til golden brown and served with caramelized onions and rosemary flat bread. A bit reminiscent of thanksgiving turkey it's that rich. The caramelized onions and rosemary soften the richness and offer an extra dimensional complimentary layer. The pizza was also really great. I didn't take advantage of the good craft beer selection. I will definitely be back and making the tough choice between this and Elevation Burger.

Went today for Christmas Eve lunch. The decor was really nice and there were plenty of TVs playing a variety of things. There were lots of vintage photos on the wall too. The food and service was great. Highly recommend the chicken wings. Watch out for the hot peppers they are hot but a nice hot. A nice surprise. We never had an empty cup of water and every time I looked to get service, my waiter would come over in that moment. The manager even came around and greeted us and wished us a happy holidays. worth it.

Hands down, best place in Willow Grove. Great management, great staff, always smiling, always friendly. NEVER had a problem. Cheese Steak pizza is obviously great, but the Cauliflower is also PHENOM. Definitely worth a try. And i LOVE Anthony's because they use Olive Oil, not soy oil :-)

  • Meghan B.

The food is delicious! Some of our favorites are caprese salad, wings (seasoned with rosemary), arugula pizza, cauliflower pizza, pepperoni and plain pizzas. The service is good. It can get extremely loud when they are busy, so the seating outside is the best if available.

  • Nadia B.

Service was excellent, food was mediocre. I went there after a business meeting with some colleagues from a facility in the area who never tried it themselves. They seemed to love the sandwiches (chicken and brocolli), and the rest of us ordered salads--- salads were VERY mediocre, nothing special, interesting or exciting- nothing I could not make myself- I ended up getting the extra calories in requesting foccaccia bread, so I might as WELL have ordered pizza!! The pizza looked delicious- so I feel bad for rating it based on the salad- but we must rate based on our experience- I hope to be back and try the pizza, and someone on the table did and kept saying "deliciiious" If you are feeling like a "pizza" day and salad is not in consideration, check our Anthony's for yourself, BUT just request that the crust not be burnt, as I saw that a few times with other tables (I'm overly observant)....

  • Aria M.

Can you say yum?? This place was really good! The kids and grownups loved the pizza (a large half prosciutto and caramelized onion and half plain pizza) and an order of the oven roasted wings smothered in caramelized onions and served with foccacia bread and OMG I loved them!! We randomly went on a Monday night and to our happy surprise the craft beers were 1/2 off! Woopee! All around great atmosphere and great experience :)

Although it's a chain, Anthony's isn't generic. They have a particular take on pizza and wings that may or may not suit you. The wings really aren't like any wings I've ever had; they are essentially very good herb roasted chicken that you have permission to eat with your hands because they are wings. No sauce on them, and they are very meaty, so order less they you normally would. The pizza is much like what is served at various wood-oven pizza places, but with an emphasis on authentic Italian-seeming toppings such as Kalamata olives and prosciutto (whether Italians actually put these sorts of things on pizza, I have no idea). The dining room and the service are warm and enjoyable. Anthony's would be appropriate for a casual date or dinner with the family, but probably too pricey for a regular workday lunch.

I just got back from this restaurant. It's my first time and I was really excited to be trying it. I ordered a small pizza with meatballs for $17. My printed receipt shows the time as 8:06pm. I asked how long the wait would be since the place was packed. The waitress told me the wait for pizza / take out was 10-15 minutes. I received my pizza exactly 33 minutes later. I stood there waiting the whole time being asked to move from one wall to another without ever asked what I was waiting for. Food was ok, actually a little burnt crust, wait was ridiculous. Not worth going back.

Anthony's is one of those places where I know what I'm going to order when I walk in. Once, I strayed from my tried and true favorite, and I was disappointed. Two of us split the salad (cold iceberg and romaine, topped with chickpeas, onions, olives, a hard-boiled egg, and red wine vinaigrette) and the traditional pizza. It's delicious. I love the crust -- it's thin but not too thin, and perfectly crisp. The cheese is bubbly and browned, and the sauce is just perfect. They have signs up, and it's part of their brand that the pizza is "well-done", and on my first visit, I was a little too well-done. As in, burned. They brought it to us and promised a second pizza before we even asked. We snacked on the less-burned side of the overcooked pizza and ended up taking most of the other one home. Once, for lunch, I tried the cauliflower pizza. It was too intriguing to pass up, but it was also too heavy and oily to enjoy. So, I stick to my favorite. If I'm ever feeling brave enough, I may try the eggplant pizza or white pizza. But I'd rather go someplace else for toppings and stick with the plain cheese here. They have drink specials (Peroni on Mondays and Tuesdays, and martinis on Wednesday) and tons of televisions on every wall. I'm looking forward to spring and eating out on their patio.

Chicken wings.Dry over cooked. Roast beef sandwich dry,no flavor also no condiments in the store. A little horseradish would have been great.

The bf and I stopped in here after hearing some good reviews. We were back within a week because it was so good. Coal fired wings are amazing, so is the coal fired chicken sandwich.

I went to Anthony's with the expectation of LOVING it. Unfortunately that wasn't the case & maybe that was part of my "problem" - TOO HIGH expectations? Ordered the salad & it LOOKED delicious but it almost seemed like they dressed it with just OIL. There was no vinegar in the vinaigrette. I think they forgot to shake up the dressing because the bartender gave us a side of the dressing with the pizza (i like to dip the crust!) and as a side it was yummy. Too bad that is NOT what we had ON the salad. The Pizza WAS very good but not as great as I was expecting....I think next time I would get the SMALL pizza b/c they looked "more well done" than the large. Check out my link with ALL the pictures and more detailed descriptions:

When it comes to pizza, I can be picky so the fact that I am a HUGE fan of Anothny's is a major plus. There are so many factors that determine whether a pizza is good or not and I usually start with the crust. The crust is crispy and you get so much flavor from the over the pizza roasts in it is a great base. We went with the Roasted Cauliflower Pizza and then a standard Pepporoni. I have never had cauliflower pizza before, but now I must have it again! Cauliflower, garlic, bread crumbs, cheese...it was really great but not my favorite thing on the menu. That would go to the Oven Roasted chicken wings which are served with carmalized onions and focaccia bread. A great italian style wing seasoned with rosemary and garlic. With TVs and a good selection of beers and an outdoor patio, Anthony's is the perfect place to go for a casual pizza dinner with friends.

There are a number of good pizza places in this area, but Anthony's is not one of them. The salad came out with crisp lettuce but it was drenched in about a half a bottle of oil dressing, which had very little flavor. The grated cheese on the table was flat, no taste or aroma. There are very few varieties of pizza offered. Ours was ok (broccoli rabe and sausage), but nothing to write home about. What we did learn was that Anthony's is basically a sports bar, so unless this is your thing, I would stay away.

The only chain restaurant you'll ever love! The pizza here is amazing, well done coal fired crust is their specialty, and they do it so well. Also try the meatballs, they come with the most delicious rosemary flat bread triangles, and ricotta cheese. We also love the wings and the big family sized salad with chick peas!! But aside from the pizza, try to get here for lunch, they have, hands down, the best tuna sandwich I've EVER tasted...it's so fresh, and on the most delicious flavorful flat bread with plenty of fresh greens. The takeout is also really well done, they greet me by name! I think that's a nice, thoughtful touch. The outdoor seating is great for the warmer months, and although it get's busy, I've never waited more than 10 minutes for a table. Good for business lunches also. Ok...that's settled...I'm headed here tomorrow!

The first time I came to Anthony's. I went w/ a girlfriend for a girl's night out. We shared a small Prosciutto pie and baked chicken wings. Both were delicious. The pie was perfectly seasoned, runny cheese, perfect sauce and cheese ratio, and the prosciutto was just salty enough. The wings were tender, and the carmalized onions that accompanied it was great. Since it was a Monday night they had a specialty beer for $1.50.. $1.50 !! How can you beat that !! The only down fall was soda and beer are all by the bottle. No fountain and no draft. THIS I do not understand. Our waiter was attentive and being cute helped too ! :0P Since my first experience was so great , I decided to bring my kids and husband back again. I raved and raved about the pizza. When we came back it was a COMPLETELY different experience. We shared 2 large pies. One was the prosciutto and the other was long peppers. We also shared the baked wings again . The prosciutto pie was SO salty we . It was a complete turnoff, and the peppers on the other pie were burnt and so spicy with seeds through out. Really unappetizing. Our wings were burnt to a crisp. Dry and more like jerky then baked. The waitress couldn't have been more polar opposite. She was inattentive and unfriendly . PLUSES about this place that would make me go back. I love the thin crunchy crust. Both times the sauce and cheese was the saving grace . And * drum roll * the bathrooms are REALLY clean. ( those of you who have read my reviews before KNOW the cleanliness of the ladies room is super important to me. haha)

THE BEST PIZZA!!! There was one where I used to live in Miami. I was sad when I moved back the the Philly area and I had no Anthony's. The pizza was crispy and definitely coal fired. It is a bit pricey but way worth it. You MUST get the wings! They have a great flavor to them because they are put in the same coal oven, then they are topped with cooked onions YUM!! . If you want to try them out, go during lunch when you can get a personal pizza for $8.

Delicious pizza here!!! The pizza was crispy and definitely coal fired. They're rather pricey for a pizza which is why I don't come here more often. If you want to try them out, go during lunch when you can get a personal pizza for ~$8.

Stopped by on an early Sunday eve and the place was packed. We sat at the bar and had a salad and a pie. Bartender was very friendly and service was fine. The salad was pretty good - too much oil for me as the lettuce was literally drowning in dressing. So next time, I will order it light on the dressing. The pie was very good - not quite as thin crust as we like, but we ate the whole thing, so I guess it wasn't so bad! The drink selections are a bit weird. They have some decent bottled beers but only bottled standard sodas - like the typical corn syrup sweetened crap - so just water for me this time. It's not really a "bar" in the traditional sense. There are several TVs blasting and the noise level was high on a busy evening. When we first sat down, the TVs were showing the effects of the recent Japan disaster which was a bit disconcerting. We felt rather guilty enjoying our dinner while watching a destroyed country. After several minutes, the channel was changed. Not that this reflects on Anthony's as a restaurant, just that it was a bad choice to have on at the time. We liked Anthony's but it wouldn't be a go to place unless we were around that particular strip center and had to have pizza (which was the case of our original visit). Since there are many good mom and pop pizza places, why go to a chain? We got there around 6, but by the time we left (around 7 or so), it was half empty, so if you go on a Sunday, get there after 7 for a calmer, quieter visit.

Only 1 star mainly because the waiter forgot my guest's chicken sandwich...we even asked for it twice!!! It finally came out at the end of our meal!!! Didn't even offer it for free. We asked the waiter to just wrap it up at this point! My guest ended up sharing the salad and pizza the other two of us had. I liked the crispy crust on the pizza but thought the cheese steak pizza had way too many onions. The restaurant was very noisy even for lunch! It was dark too. I did like my first impression of walking into a nice restaurant and nice atmosphere for dining. I may try it again because it looks like it has potential. However, I was very disapointed so it may be a while before I go back.

Awesome Pizza! Probably the best thin crust pizza I've ever had. The sauce is so tasty and the crust is perfectly thin. Wait staff is courteous, and attentive. Overall a great experience, we're looking forward to the next visit very soon.

This place is unbelievable. And it's technically a chain too right? Even if the pizza looks burnt, it's a different kind of burnt, if that makes sense. It doesn't have that nasty burned taste. The cheese, sauce, and pepperoni are top notch, and they never skimp on the toppings or cheese. For sauce-less wings, this is also the place to go. Could eat them all day. Worth a drive

Yum. I've never had coal-fired pizza before but I've decided I'm a big fan. I'd heard good things about Anthony's so T and I decided to check it out on Tuesday. The place was PACKED (we later found out a local church was having a fundraiser which made sense since everyone seemed to know each other) so it was really noisy but I like that. There was a bar and four TVs set to sport-type programming. A great atmosphere. The menu is very simple. They had pizzas, of course, along with salads and wings, I think there were meatballs but that's about it. I like small menus because if I'm given too many choices it takes me forever to decide what I want. T and I were having a heated debate about white pizza vs. traditional when the waiter told us they could do 1/2 white and 1/2 with sauce. Ca ching! I got 1/2 white and T got 1/2 traditional with pepperoni and long hot peppers. We also got a salad to share. Oh, and they have a full bar so we also got beer. Love cold beer and piping hot pizza. The salad arrived cold with lots of Italian dressing. There was celery, chickpeas, tomatos, olives, red onions, hard boiled eggs ... maybe a couple other things. There is also an option for an extra $2 to add gorgonzola which we'll be doing next time. :) The salad was great, the dressing was really herbed and flavorful. The lettuce was crunchy and all of the ingredients seemed very fresh. The pizza took awhile to come out, probably because of the crowd but it was SO worth the wait. Lots of ooey gooey cheese and a crust that was a little crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside with that great charcoal taste. YUM! I tried a bite of the traditional side as well. The sauce was kind of sweet and really delicious. And long hots are hot! Who knew? We'd had them before but they didn't have the seeds and such. Yikes! Order with caution! Overall a great sit-down pizza place. Our waiter was really great and they have a great outdoor patio with a fireplace. We'll definitely be back.

My wife and I are major fans of this place. The pizza is done the way I've heard it was done in the olden days: high temp, quick bake, and charred. The wings are special. They are not buffalo style, but rather marinated and baked with onions and herbs. This is one thing that you must at least try out.

    (5)
  • Ralph B.

Food was ok, I got the wings...it wasn't as good as people hyped them to be. Service was even worse. Waited over 10 minutes for the waitress to come around so I can get a refill of water. Sodas were single serve 20oz bottles and not fountain. They charge $2.60 for a soda where you can get anywhere for a $1-$1.50. From expensive food to bad service, you can go elsewhere...Corner Bakery Cafe and Qdoba are much better choices next door. We even had to give our credit card to another waiter since ours was busy who knows what. It wasn't crowded at all either.

This place is decent and has a nice atmosphere, considering it is in a strip mall. They have a small outdoor section and lots of seating in the main dining room. Two co-workers and I split a large pizza - half white and half plain, and there was plenty to go around. I liked the white slice better as I didn't care too much for their sauce, it was a bit too sweet for my taste. We all ordered iced tea, and were a little disappointed when it was three bottled teas that were brought out and not freshly brewed. They lost one point for that. The bill came to a little over $30. A little pricey for a large pizza and three iced teas, but the pizza was good. The verdict is still out as to whether I'll go back...

Just passed by this place on a toys r us run and decided, what the heck, let's get some night pizza for drunk eats. Inside the place looked really slick, the staff seemed friendly. The bar looked swell and the beer list impressive (even by my husbands beer snob standards). Got a small plain for take out, wasn't very busy so it only took about 12 mins from the time we ordered to the time it was warming my lap on the car ride home. Taking a peek at the pie, we couldn't resist and had to grab a pre drink slice.... O snap. It's amazing. The crust it thin, crispy and buttery. Sauce is flavorful and well seasoned. Cheese is not too greasy. Yum. Yeah, definitely one of the best pizzas in this area. Good stuff. Give it a spin.

The pizza is okay. Sometimes its a bit too burnt for my liking. Also it's a bit pricey. The wings are very good. They are not your typically wings, but it's ones you should try.

Well I sort have been waiting for Anthony's to open up, from what I understand they are a chain based mostly in Florida and Las Vegas and they are slowly working their way up north here. I was skeptical of "Coal Fired" pizza, I've gone to a few pizza places in the past that have claimed to have brick oven pizza that was in fact not all that special. But I was pleasantly surprised with how good the pizza was here. There are plenty of warning signs on the walls that tell you their pizza is well done and in fact it was well done, with a little bit of burnt crust, but regardless it still tasted good. The sauce was very flavorful, you could tell it wasn't just the same out of the can stuff most of the other places around use. Another surprise was the crust had a bit of a kick, it was spicy, not over spicy but enough to notice. Service was excellent, food was prepared quickly and the overall atmosphere of the place was great. They had had lots of celebrity pictures on the wall, including local sports legends. There are a few TVs around that were focused on sports channels, so it is a nice place to watch the game and have a nice meal. They have outside seating as well, but because they are in a strip mall, to me it would feel like I was eating in the parking lot. Anthony's also appears to have a full service bar for those who enjoy a few beers with their pie. Prices were a bit higher than a local pizza place, a one topping pizza ran around $14. One downfall seems to me is they seem to only serve drinks from a bottle. I ordered an unsweetened iced tea and got a bottle with a glass of ice, so free refills appear out of the question. The menu isn't extensive, a couple sandwiches, wings and salads, it appears they focus on pizza and they do a good job of it, I'll be back for sure.

For the food in general I have no problem with a 4 or even a 5 for some things. BUT, when you see and smell that pizza, this is what I expect to be great and it is a major disappointment. Crust is wonderful, but the tomatoes are the absolute worst. Not sure anyone knows what stewed tomatoes are, but that is the gross flavor, and besides the crappy tomatoes, they are not seasoned well if at all. Tried the toppings pizza such as the mushrooms, but that also is just ok. I think next time I'll just order the crust with some cheese. ALSO, the wine selection is not good, but it is bad. The Chianti Gabbioni (I think), may be the only thing worth drinking. The waitress was outstanding and saw that I did not care for the bottle of wine I selected out of a poor choice, and had the manager come over and he recommended the Gabbioni as perhaps the best wine they have. That was greatly appreciated and really unheard of. If you select a bottle you do not like, you do not have a right to try something else, unless it is corked of course. All of this said, I do want to give them my business but I just have to understand what to order. STEWED TOMATOES; Very Poor, and I hope their Headquarters reads these reviews. I will be willing to show them the two very best pizza's in this area pertaining to very different methods for sauce or crushed tomatoes. Tacconelli's or Tony's in Warminster and Mayfair. They know how to season.

Wow, this is really tough for me to say - especially since I am a proud New Yorker who LOVES his NY pizza - This place could possibly have the best pizza that I have ever tasted!!! That's right, the BEST. I absolutely love their basic pepperoni pie, their regular margarita style as well as some of their more exotic styles (gotta try the cauliflower, you heard me! cauliflower pizza!!!). Fantastic place that I highly recommend.

The only thing I hate about this place is the hour drive to get there! I say a little prayer every time I crave it ( daily ) that they would bring one to Bethlehem! I'm actually stunned that some people would disagree but really the pizza and wings are the best I've ever had. Okay... I probably can live w/o the pizza bit I would die w/o the wings. Unfortunately, I like it so much for the two years I've been going I cant bring myself to ordering anything else. So this review is for the wings which is reason enough to keep you coming back

For a chain, the place is top notch. Wings are fantastic. The Pizza with its crispiness is a nice change of pace. Stands out in an area where theres a abundance of pizza joints. Pricier than most but you do get what you pay for.

If I could eat any pizza for the rest of my life ,it would be from Anthony's. I love Margarita pizza with a little bit of sauce and Anthony's is spot on. Their crust is perfectly thin and crispy. A little pricey, but they have lunch specials that are reasonable. Although I love hot wings, their wings with caramelized onions is a nice change up.

The best part about this place is nothing is fried. Wait - Did I really just say that? Well it's true. I remember my first experience, looking for french fries and what not on the menu. Funny thing is they don't even carry most condiments, including ketchup! I haven't tried everything, but let me just say, the wings are grilled to perfection with their own special flavoring: at first I wasn't a fan but now I'm obsessed. The pizza is well done and thin, not too heavy on the sauce but also a great product. They also serve bread (who can say no to bread)! The menu is limited but with great choices. A little strange that they don't do fountain drinks - only 20 oz coke products. Small but welcoming. Outside seating is offered with a fire pit. I'd love to go back!

I have only eaten in once and that was outside and it was really enjoyable. I usually get take out and love the pizza. My favorite is the pepperoni because the pepperoni is so nicely cooked well and not at all greasy. The sauce is really good, tomatoey and not overdone on the pizza. Love it! I cant believe that no one has mentioned the ribs! The ribs are served in a vinegar base sauce with hot peppers and are wonderful. The ribs are a bit toothy which is nice and really tender. It also comes with a piece of flatbread that you can use to sop up the sauce. Its a go-to for pizza for my family and you should give it a try also.

Spectacular pizza place / sports bar. fresh food includes pies, wings, salad, great italian pita tuna sandwich and more... stylish energetic atmosphere, outside seating too. exceeds expectations for a simple menu is more than you can ask for... clean crisp and well done!

Food was really good, I had the tomato mozzarella salad, wings and a small pizza. Wings and Mozzarella salad came out a little quick, on top of each other Then the pizza followed not long after. If you like crispy pizza this is your place! Everything was really good, fast service actually felt a little rushed. Price with 1 soda & peroni, $32.50 +tip

I'm frankly surprised at all of the 5-star ratings here...The pizza was good, but not great. The menu is very sparse (few choices other than pizza)... and prices are very high for what it is. My wife and i ate with our 2 kids...we got a single salad, 2 individual pizzas, and soft-drinks. Sodas came out in plastic bottles...not even fountain sodas for a restaurant trying to be upscale (with upscale prices). The bill was $51 BEFORE the tip to our somewhat surly waiter. As they warn, their pizzas are "well done" Expect some charred crust. Not a big problem for me, but the kids didn't really appreciate it. They do have a very nice beer selection (didn't partake on this visit, but I appreciate a good selection of craft beer).. I doubt we would go back...

I have been here twice. The pizzas are delicious and sophisticated. I would highly recommend the cheesesteak pizza. The onions are perfectly caramelized and steak is much more flavorful than any other cheese steak pizza I have tried. My favorite though was the broccoli rabe and sausage. The bitters greens where perfect paired with the sausage. Truly a gourmet pizza without being gimmicky. The eggplant parm was quite tasty as well. The atmosphere is relaxed yet sophisticated, which is nice since most restaurants in the area are very casual.

Love this place. It is a small restaurant and can get very crowded. They have an outside patio with a fire pit but they don't allow alcohol out there. Inside they have TV's playing various sports channels. small menu. Their pizza is cooked in a coal fired oven, very quickly and quickly. If you don't like your food cooked extra well, you won't like it. The eggplant pizza is awesome. The chicken wings are cooked with Rosemary seasoning and then smothered in onions....yum. I guess they have dessert, but I'm not sure because I'm usually stuffed after the wings and pizza.

I really like this place. Yes, a bit noisy, but so are a lot of other pizza/bar places. It is family friendly and the service top notch. We always get the wings and a pizza. I hope the menu never changes. One day I'll try the salad. When you go, make sure you order their pizza.....one of he best around.

The pizza was AWESOME! It was a mix between Macks down the shore and Charlies pizza in the city! The wings were delicious too... not your typical hot wing- roasted with all sorts of spices served with onions,...yum!!

OK - I think I am a bit of a pizza snob. I am very particular about the crust, toppings, sauce and the technique used to bake a pizza. Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza does it all extremely well. Love the crust -- a little burnt from the time in the coal oven (and love the taste it imparts!), just enough cheese, but not overly cheesy, with a sauce that is as good as any homemade I ever had. Just tried their pie topped with arugula, it's about as good as any I ever tasted! Love their Philly Cheesesteak pie too. Oh, you must try one of their meatballs (you can order as an appetizer!), they are scrumptious. Nice selection of salads if you want to do the pizza an salad thing, as my hubby and I like to do. I am not crazy about one of their "featured" plates - the chicken wings. I find them juicy, but bland tasting and wouldn't order again. Nice beer and wine selections along with mixed drinks, martini's and the usual bar fare. Service is good, and they also do takeout and you can call ahead.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century.
