Best to get to go, very limited seating. Food is expansive, but they are using fresh bread, expensive cheeses and organic. So that all equals $$$$.

I can't believe a restaurant this good is in this town. I hope it stays here forever.

Branko's is fabulous. Pure and simple. Fresh, beautifully prepared food. Great soup, Great salads and sandwiches. Great everything! It's worth a trip to Honesdale- make it a destination for breakfast or lunch!

Great intimate restaurant. Food is wonderful with a multitude of choice from their large blackboard. Fresh and a taste of Europe. The desserts are beautiful, so save room! I've always had lunch but they do have a evening weekend menu.

Just a great place for lunch. Eat in or at one of their sidewalk tables. This is my wife's favorite restaurant for lunch and I have to admit, it is really good. It is hard to highlight one entree, as they have all been exceptional. I find my self often ordering the "Chicken Toscano" as it is so good and my wife loves the "Patisserie du jour" specialty sandwich, from the vegetarian selection. The atmosphere it quaint, with a hint of European flavor. We usually don't indulge in the deserts, but on the few occasions we did, they were outstanding. Branko's is a must if visiting Honesdale, or you live here. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Another person commented that Branko's is a bit of heaven in NE PA hell. Well, quite true, but things have improved in fast-changing Honesdale. Essentially this restaurant is superb. Someone else complained about the grumpy lady who takes your order. She only SEEMS to be grumpy. She isn't and she takes her cuisine very seriously.

Found this by chance.. Glad we did. I had the mozzarella and tomatoe sandwich... Others in group had the special Hawaiian chicken salad (pineapple, blueberries. Strawberries., walnuts over greens... The vegetarian sandwich was also ordered. All were so tasty.. Having the Citrus tart as I am writing this.. Also very good..

Ehhhh. First, this place is extremely cramped. Second, the lady at the front counter needs to be a bit more polite - we were ordering four lunches and she literally turned her back on us to take care of an issue while I was mid sentence. Third, waddup with your chicken? Anyway, they acquiesced to my desire to have a tbm chicken salad versus sandwich and everyone else seemed to really enjoy their meal. This is just the kind of place that nickel and dimes you - (Soup and Salad - (Salad +$2.00) - why advertise it as though it's one meal and then make you pay extra? Pretty much everything starts at $7.95. The chicken I had was three tiny pieces, 1/3 of which wasn't even edible. It was almost $50 for lunch for four with no booze - just four Diet Cokes - one person only had soup. So, there you go.

My dad and I were on a motorcycle trip passing through the area. Being used to typical rundown PA coal towns, Honesdale (and Branko's in particular) seemed like a hell of a find. We both had an incredible vegetarian sandwich with goat cheese and some home brewed iced tea. Prices felt a little more new york-like than PA-like, but whatever. Was a good little break from the roadtrip.

Family-owned and operated, Branko's is THE very best at what they do in NEPA!

Branko's Patisserie Du Jour is my absolute favorite restaurant in Honesdale! I am here most often for breakfast and even if I order eggs, bacon and a muffin three days in a row somehow the meal seems to be the best eggs, bacon and muffin I have ever had each time! The portions are perfect and although you wish you could taste the meal for the rest of the day you leave feeling completely satisfied. The meals are filling but light. I'm not even sure how to describe this but it's almost as though your body can tell the difference in quality right away. Not only are you happy with the taste, but you feel energized and restored after a meal here. I highly recommend looking into their special dinner dates too. You will see they are usually booked solid months in advance but they are definitely something to wait for! I will also admit that I am a very picky coffee/specialty coffee drinker and Branko's is THE ONLY place in Honesdale that I can count on. I have tried every other restaurant and café in town and nowhere else compares.

This cafe is my favourite restaurant. Personally, I think it's extremely difficult to find a good cafe, with even better food, but Branko's is more than capable of providing that. My only qualm is that they're not open more often.

Branko's Patisserie du Jour is excellent. Quite possibly the best food in the area. The cafe is quaint and charming; filled with delightful and delectable sweets and savory treats. The prices are not outrageous either; one would expect to pay a lot more for such gourmet food. We need more places like Branko's Patisserie - you can go to any deli and get a good sandwich, really - but here - it's not just lunch. It's an experience. As an aside to a previous reviewer: As a lifelong resident of the area, I would never classify NEPA as "hell" though it is quiet and there isn't a whole lot going on. I like it that way, I liked it when I was a kid and I like it now. I can't imagine living elsewhere. The economy has been tough on every area; Honesdale included. That said, I would rather raise my family here than anywhere.

WOW! I have finally found a slice of heaven in this hell known as NEPA. I went to Patisserie for Sunday brunch with my daughter today. It was our first time there as I never really noticed this quaint little place in the middle of what was becoming a ghost town, or so I thought. I must say it seems as if Honesdale is transitioning into a more upscale place. I also enjoyed a dinner at the Bistro 1202 in the Hotel Wayne. I will review that experience as well in it's own forum. You can tell when you walk in that the owners care about the look and feel of their place. It shows that they put their hearts into it and it also shows in the delicious and well thought out offerings that abound. whether your in the mood for a sweet treat and coffee or a tummy filler you will find it here with flair, and by the way that coffee is fresh, hot and delicious. I only mention that because it's very hard to find a good cup of coffee around here. I only tried some things from their "Mornings" menu, and it seems that the bagel is king here as everything seems to revolve around it. That's not a bad thing since their bagels are on par with NYC bagels. It would be nice if they offered an alternative to the bagel though, because with the generous portions that they serve it can be a bit much to finish with a bagel as the medium upon which it's served. I noticed people taking half home for later. I can't wait to go back and try some of their lunch or dinner type plates. I noticed a Roast leg of lamb "delight" sandwich that is only served on weekends that I must try and also a Long Island duck breast sandwich that sounds interesting also. The prices here are very reasonable as well for the quality and quantity of their food. The ambiance is relaxed and cool like sitting in a cafe in Paris. Regalez-vous Bon appetit

Extraordinary blends of flavors and great breads combined to make a good dining experience whether it's breakfast or lunch. And, if you're lucky enough to get a reservation to one of his gourmet dinners, you'll be blown away.

Such a nice little spot with flavor to stop into. The only place in the area to get good bagels. Food is wonderful as are the various desserts! Go and Enjoy!!!

I absolutely LOVE the food here! From a real niçoise salad to torts to die for, it's one of the best places to eat around. The hint of France and the delicious food, coupled with the quaint tables make this a sweet lunch date locale. My only issue is that they're closed on Sunday when I'd love to have brunch, but I guess i'll just have to suffer. :)
