Great place to get a pizza in Hellertown...big, recently remodeled restaurant, and people in the town make a crowd on the weekends! Read a professional review at mcall.com/entertainment/… from the local newspaper.

I have been coming here for years and have become used to the high quality of food, ingredients, staff, byob and countless other reasons. This is far and above my favorite Italian place to eat. They have been around for years and only put on the menu what they can make amazing. And that's a lot. Parm sandwiches, ziti and lasagna, lemon chicken salad, and their soup. Amazing!!! This is the Italian restaurant that I gauge all other Italian restaurants to, and a LOT of them can't come even close.

Decided to try Dimaio's for the first time this week with my family. Great pizza and cannoli. Very good service. Nice atmosphere. Will definitely return for dinner next time.

The pizza is fantastic and the baked lasagna is amazing! No wonder they have been in business 30 years!

My family loves this place, get pizza from here every Friday night. Usually food is ready when they say. Wished they delivered!

In my opinion, best place in town to get a hoagie/sub! I normally do take out and I'll order at the counter. They tell me 15 minutes and it never takes any longer than 5, even during lunch hour. Seating is your typical pizza parlor table and chairs. Decor is a mix of a pizza parlor and Italian restaurant. Hints of cooking oils, wine and chefs are on the walls. I'm pretty sure it's a family run business. Service is excellent and they are always friendly. They make it a point to greet their regulars and ask them about their day and what's new. The hoagie/subs are large, even for the small that I get. Roll is fresh and so are the cheese and meats. They give you just enough lettuce and dressing so you can taste it but it's not overdone and soggy. If you want a good hoagie/sub eating here is a must!

I would eat every item on the menu. The best. Chicken wing pizza is outstanding.

Best. Pizza. Ever. O. M. G. Bruchetta in season is amazing, so is the marinara sauce. Clam sauce, yum. I wish I could go into more detail but the only thing that will prove it is the taste. It's a highlight traveling from thousands of miles away and I miss it when I'm gone. Freezes well and heats well, too. Wow.

This is easily the best pizza in Hellertown.

It took me a long time to find decent Italian food in the Lehigh Valley coming from Pittston and Scranton area. Im going to actually bet they are Sicilian based on the cooking. Stick with the basics...the personal pies are bananas! Chicken Wing Pizza is win win. I also enjoyed the pasta but would like to see Vodka Sauce added to the menu. The chicken parm did nothing for me, it wasn't what I expected based on all my previous orders.

Enjoyed my meal here this evening. I had the lemon chicken salad which was very good. My husband had sausage and pepperoni pizza and he loved it. The bread was very tasty. I will definitely be back here.

We had dinner at Dimaio's for restaurant week on a friend's suggestion. I was a little leery as it just looked like a pizza place. The dinner was wonderful and a great bargain. Other diners had the soup, which they loved. I had the bruschetta, salad, and eggplant parmesan. The bruschetta was fabulous, fresh and tasty. My husband had Chicken Francaise, which was in a delicious sauce. The bread was fantastic, better than most I've had and I live in Philly, home of good Italian bread. Dessert was a very good mini cannoli, the perfect size. Service was attentive. We will stop again on our next trip to the Poconos to try the sandwiches.

This place is a pretty good place to get pizza in Hellertown. They do a thicker crust than I would like and skimp a little on the sauce (some people like more cheese and some people like more sauce, they cater to the former, I am the later). They are usually right on when they give times for the take out. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the salads. They are OK but not great (mostly just lettuce). The staff is nice and friendly too.

Disappointed!! $20.09 for a veal parm dinner and was told I don't get a salad because it is take out. The menu (online and takeout menu) both indicate that all entrees are served with bread, butter, and salad. Why can't I get a salad with my dinner because it's take out? I've been going to this restaurant for more than 15 years and will not be going back. Food is good but their policies are ridiculous !!!!!

I really love this place. Came here for a casual dinner with my parents while I was out in the area. I most recently had the seafood diavolo..mi favorito. Simply delicious. My dining parters had a simple ziti with a meat sauce (eh, as expected) and the chicken francese, which was perfectly sauteed in a buttery lemon sauce. The pasta was delicious, the service was wonderful, and I left full and satisfied! I recommend this little gem.

We went here one night with a gift certificate that I won in a drawing. I had the DiMaio's Special Chicken Cheese steak - peppers, onions, hot peppers, chicken, mushrooms, cheese and sauce, while my husband got a standard cheese steak. Both were decent, but not exceptional. The garlic bread with mozzarella was decent - we managed to finish the basket before the cheese steaks made it our way. I'd skip dessert; we had a piece of the apple custard tart which was definitely a frozen dessert that hadn't thawed out enough. They put it on a warm plate, but I'm not stupid. Next time maybe I'll try a cannoli; I can't imagine that any decent Italian doesn't make their own (especially since they make their own bread and it's fantastic). We'll probably try it again, but I'll go for a table. The booths have no padding at all.

I ordered for takeout a lasagna and it was real good. The sauce was not as salty as other places. The quality seems better. I hope their other items are just as good. Their entrees includes bread and butter but not a salad like other places.

went here for lunch with 3 friends on a Saturday *NOTE* there is no air conditioning and its hot inside! we ordered a round of waters and some mussels - took about 40 minutes after ordering for the mussels to come out. I was scared. Very scared especially after asking the server how long they cook the mussels and she said 15 - 20 minutes! But my worries were nullified, they were HUGE mussels (green shells) and very tasty in their homemade marinara and homemade bread. We had salads, a wrap and an Italian hoagie - all tasty, the antipasto is GIANT but make sure to order dressing on the side because it was saturated in it. Overall a good meal, worth the wait in the sweltering heat - tough call

Every time I come back to the Valley I come by DiMaio's. It's been a favorite since my family would come by after soccer games and tournaments. I always would get the veal parmesan -- and eat it all!! Now they have expanded their menu and offer lots of choices. The chicken cheesesteak/hoagie and the calzones/stromboli are delicious. I usually order an entree and always ask for the house dressing on the salad. Now there is outdoor seating during the summer months. Can't wait to stop back here next time I'm in town.

The pizza isn't bad and the homemade bread is pretty good. However, on the occassions that I have had pasta there the dishes were anything but "al dente" and were dripping in liquid. Also, the service can sometimes be rather slow even when the restaurant isn't busy.

Just moved to Hellertown and was looking for a comfortable, family style Italian restaurant for my family to frequent. Ordered the lasagna. Took longer to be delivered to the table than expected as the restaurant was not busy. Sauce tasted like it came from the grocery store. Service was friendly. Bottom line, I will keep searching for that local place for my family and me to visit.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
