Myself, and 4 others were looking for a nice spot to eat while visiting Gettysburg. We eventually wound up here because they had the room to seat us on a hot Sunday afternoon. We chose to sit outside. Little did we know, we would be accompanied by a plethora of bees. We were assured they wouldn't bother us by the waitress. The bees were quite annoying and took much joy out of our experience, as they continued to fly circles just above us, and occasionally making contact with us as well. (not to mention a substance that landed on my arm) Moving to the food. Disgusting. After waiting quite a long time for how busy this place seemed... the Cole slaw was flavorless, the apple fritters were shells of fried breading, the vegetables looked just out of can, the fries were limp and unseasoned. Moving to main courses, a steak was severely under cooked, a prime rib sandwich's bun was beyond soggy, and a turkey club came a strand of everyone in the kitchens' hair. Also, for an "Irish" establishment, the beer list was scarce and lacking. We turned nothing back and chose to cut our losses and just leave, as we had no faith in improved food quality, and were over our newly made friends, the bees. At least the waitstaff was nice.

Unfortunately, we ordered the Cod Plate, with french fries and a "Make your own" chicken breast sandwich, also with fries. Our waitress was very pleasant. The deep-fried cod was much too greasy. One of the four pieces was not cooked through. We asked that the fries be "well done." While not underdone, they were not well-done either. kind of limp and uninteresting. In fairness, I probably should have ordered a green vegetable with the deep fried food. But one vegetable for a $15 entree is not much of a value. My wife's chicken was dry, her cole slaw was boring (no carrot, little flavor). We both felt lousy after eating here.

Don't order the steak, it was tough. The steak was mainly 50% fat and gristle, I had a side of mashed potatoes which tasted like instant an asparagus that was not cook properly . Place was clean and in a good location. It was not worth the money at all!

I was in Gettysburg for a youth soccer tournament. I was hoping for a nice pub with some good beers. We sat outside on a great night, which is why this was a solid 3 stars. The service was extremely slow, and had to wait over 10 minutes to place food order? I had a Ruben with a side of coleslaw. The Reuben was good, but only had a small plastic cup that condiments come in of slaw? I guess I should have gotten something fried to go with my sandwich. As far as beer goes they only had the standard Irish fair with no real craft selection, which was disappointing. I would only recommend if you want to sit outside on a nice day. If not hit the pizza place up the street, they have a great craft selection.

Stopped in for lunch. First off the Guinness was poured incorrectly and not in a Guinness glass. Decided on the Ruben, it was at best lunch meat quality. The french fries were the grocery store frozen type and cold. Gave two stars because the server was great. Just not very Irish for a Irish pub.

We stopped in passing through Gettysburg for a late lunch \ early dinner before hitting the outlets. We weren't looking for anything exceptional, but didn't want fast food. When we saw the menus the prices represented something a little better than we thought we were walking into. I kind of expected cheap pub food, but I figured if the food was great who's to complain about prices. The table being a bit sticky however, didn't really go with the prices if you know what I mean. We started off with the crab dip which was $15. It arrived relatively fast in a bread bowl with tortilla chips to dip. I'm not sure who uses tortilla chips for crab dip, but maybe they ran out of bread or toast... There really was no flavor to the dip. A few places in the area have amazing crab dip between $9 and $12. The meals we chose were the crab cake sandwich and the fried cod. The fried cod was pretty much just deep fried cod from the freezer. I didn't expect anything more than that, so I got what I thought i was going to get at a slightly larger price than most other places serving the same thing. The cole slaw which is almost impossible to screw up looked like someone threw some cabbage in the blender and slapped some mayo on top as they were walking out the door. They also only gave me like 3 tablespoons worth of slaw in a mini bowl. The crab cake sandwich arrived looking like someone put a mini crab cake on a kaiser roll and then sat on it to make the cake fit the roll. Both the roll and the cake were smashed. Flavor wise the crab cake was edible, but not something you'd ever order again. Our waitress was very friendly and was there at all the right times so no complaints there. In the end we paid $50 to $60 for something that had us hanging out at the bathrooms instead of the stores we set out to visit.

Best fucking pretzels, service, and most polite beautiful waitresses ever. A must go for the Bavarian Pretzels.

This place is in desperate need of chef Robert Irvine and a Restaurant Impossible makeover. I had the Shepard's pie, at least that's what they called it. It was disgusting and a pathetic excuse for Shepard's pie. This was pretty much canned chili dumped in a soup bowl, mixed with canned corn, and topped with instant potato flake mashed potatoes and 10 shreds of cheese on top. The side of cole slaw was even worse. Essentially just shredded cabbage mixed with runny watered down mayo. It came in a plastic sample cup like you'd get at Sam's Club. Two bites and it's gone, but that's just as well because it was so gross you couldn't stomach any more. I included a picture for reference. Don't waste you're time or money here. It's a complete ripoff unless you just want a beer and then leave.

Food was ok, not memorable not horrible. The menu looked really interesting but for the price we should have been blown away. The burger (not the monster) was really small and over cooked. the little apple fritters were the best thing we ate. Our server was very nice and attentive. Wish it had been a little bit better.

A great Gettysburg eatery. Eating outside here is a real treat, being able to get a great view while taking in the sights of Steinwehr Avenue. I first had a very fresh tossed salad with a standard Italian dressing. It came out in a timely manner, and there was nothing really to complain about there. I ordered a cheeseburger with onions, pickles, and bacon. It was incredible. It was one of the best burgers I have eaten in a long time. It wwas absolutely excellent, perfectly cooked, and juicy. I was in a group of 6, and my food was delivered in a timely and efficient manner, considering the number of people. The wait staff, while apparently a little overwhelmed by how busy the restaurant was, were still quick and courteous the whole time. I would definitely recommend it if you're in the area.

I love when places have a big menu and I cannot decide what to eat. My problem was the appetizers: I wanted them ALL! We settled on the Bavarian pretzels, though. Yum! All the food got 4 stars from our table, as did the service, although it was real slow at the end while we waited for our bill. The outside patio is nice and it's dog friendly. The bar is really dark when you go inside-coming from the outside I felt like I was suddenly blinded. 3 1/2 stars.

My very favorite place in Gettysburg! It's an Irish pub, so I recommend any of the Irish dishes... but the Sheppard's Pie Potato Skins are the BEST! I crave them! The servers are very friendly, however many times I've been there, it's been PACKED (due to events in town or St. Paddy's Day). It says something that there are groups of reenactors that frequent it every time they come to town. And my brother takes a roadtrip with 10-12 people every March. Portions are sizeable & fit the prices. It's not a huge place, but there is seating upstairs & outside. Certainly worth checking it out!

  • Erin D.

It was your average pub and the menu looked great but the food was terrible and overpriced. The portion for my salad was very small and the fries looked like they came from a grocery store frozen food section. Won't be going back.

The food was really good. We ate there twice on our long Labor Day weekend, ordering several different selections from the menu. Everything we ordered was good. A decent atmosphere; choice of indoors or patio. The service was hit and miss. Our first experience there, we had great service. The follow up visit, the service was horrible. The scatter-brained server was nice enough, but was just over-whelmed, and failed to charge us for several things we ordered.

This place has the most delicious food. The GF and I travel to Gettysburg often just to eat here. She is in love with the meatloaf and I with the club sandwich. The service is always great and the price is very reasonable. This place is highly recommended.

Some of best food in the area! Everything on the menu is really good, especially the crab dip! One of the only restaurants in the area that offers outdoor seating, which is an amazing way to end a busy day touring the battlefield.

Rolled into Gettysburg for a day trip. Found this restaurant. The service was awesome. My grandsons enjoyed their burgers, however my Prime Rib Sandwich was dry and Tasteless. Needed seasoning in a big way. My daughter in law ordered the buffalo chicken strips. Frozen dried out strips dipped in commercial buffalo sauce. The only thing this restaurant has is a great server.

Love this place. I updated my review to 5 stars because on my last visit, which was a 2 day visit, I went 3 times. ( FYI - went in February - slow season ) The dish that makes me coming back is The Chicken Parm. Incredibly delicious. Good selection of beers. I drink IPA's and local brews. The staff is also very welcoming and attentive (sat at the bar) Can't wait to come back.

Had a ginormous meal...really thick meatloaf sandwich open faced topped with gravy...yum with fries and delicious apple fritters. they have a nice menu selection, it's in a good people watching spot, definitely a place to come get a beer and apps if you're in town (i didn't). the meal really could have served as 2 meals and ididnt eat that much rest of day.

Visited this place 10 years ago on a trip to the battlefield and it was good then. Currently, reasonably priced food and drinks, and the beers were ice cold after a day visiting the battlefield and museums. Watched the bike parade during bike week from the patio overlooking the street and it was awesome and had a great time.

For food I probably could have pushed it a bit higher but service here is not so hot. I sat at the bar by myself and once the guys left, so did the service. I waited 10 minutes to get my glass of wine refilled. There were 4 other people in the bar and 1 other server was sitting at a table intent on her smartphone doing something. Food. Pretty good. Service. Not so good.

Stopped to get a cold drink and appetizers. Per signage, went inside and asked for a table outside. Waitstaff sitting at a booth. They said to pick a table and they would be right out. Very few people at restaurant. Ten minutes later and no one appeared. We went to bar to get something to drink. Explained we were outside and asked if we could see a menu. Was told that would take 15 minutes. We could have been handed a menu. They were right within reach. No napkins given to us. Stay in Gettysburg often. Will not go back to this restaurant.

I can't tell you how nice it was to enjoy the beginning of Spring on the deck of O'Rorke's with good friends and a bottle of Woodchuck. The atmosphere is great. The food, however, leaves something to be desired. I mean, it's decent, and I'm sure it's better for a non-vegetarian, but my one requirement of bar food is delicious fries, and unfortunately, O'Rorke's fries don't do it for me. But a good time regardless.

  • Ben J.

Definitely order a sandwich..I tried two different entrees, the chicken Alfredo an Montreal chicken entrees were bland and the chicken was way over cooked and dry! I was really surprised by how bland it was. I would never recommend this place to any friends.

Popped in here on a Sunday afternoon. We started with the fried pickles--tasty! I ordered the ribeye steak with a salad and sweet potato fries. The steak was cooked to my liking and was so flavorful I didn't need any steak sauce. They gave a hefty portion of sweet potato fries, which were also delicious. They were just salty enough and perfectly crisp. They had a decent selection of Irish beers on draught and plenty of other options in bottles. Overall, this was a great place to stop if you're near the downtown historic area of Gettysburg.

Only in Getteysburg briefly, and on a holiday so there was not much open. O'Rorkes seems to be your typical bar grill, a little heavy on the frying. Prices were reasonable and the food was ok. Service was nice. If back in Getteysburg, I'd look to try another place with a little bit of a lighter menu.

First time visit. I was told the cream of crab soup was "to die for" and I found it bland and tasting of flour. The place was way too noisy to have a conversation. But the waitress was wonderful and sweet. Probably won't go back there.

Our waitress was very overwhelmed, the food was served to us cold. The food was good tho! Just... Really cold. The atmosphere is nice, ask to sit upstairs bc it isn't as loud. We came on a Saturday night so it was sorta busy.

We have been twice, and each time was great. The atmosphere is relaxed (have only been off season), the food is great and the service is wonderful. Nice selection of bar food and Irish comfort food.

Star away from the non-Irish fare. I had the nachos - with canned "spray-like" cheese, and the feta and walnut salad. Wasted my money. Others at the table had bangrs & mash with they thought were god, and others ate the baked potato and onion soup to no complaints.

YUM! Chicken Parmesan Sandwich for me; Shepherd's Pie for my Love; and ("one of the better") Reuben's my Mama's ever had! Everything came out fairly quick and was hot & delicious! I would definitely come back when I'm back up this way!

My wife and I stopped in while visiting Gettysburg. The manager at the Hotel across the street said it was highly rated. We are glad we went there. The French Onion soup is a must have. Best FOS I've ever eaten. I had the Shepard's Pie. It was really well done. A couple of pints and I was a really happy camper. Oh, I had the apple fritter as a side. OMG!

The staff is very friendly, but our waiter had to come back twice to clarify our order - not that something was unavailable. The setting is clearly inexpensive pub, with several rooms and a bar. The menu was fair, with good pricing, decent wine, excellent potato skins with pulled pork on them, but sub-par sheppard's pie and a somewhat dirty feel. The restaurant is in the less historical area, with lots of rundown motels nearby but also excellent ice cream (Kerwins) and some nice galleries.

I've been here twice so far this year, first time we got seated right away the service was good took awhile to get the beers we had ordered, ordered the grilled ham and cheese which was good, second time was three weeks ago which was a sat at 4 had to wait ten minutes to get seated which wasn't bad had the Rubin it was good could have been better wasn't that hot, my nephew got chicken sandwich which didn't have any mayo or sauce on it, granted we did get our food in like 15 mins.. The server was awesome, will stop again when in town

While getting ready to do the obligatory ghost our while in Gettysburg, we thought we'd have something to eat while waiting an hour to start the tour. We asked the an who was our guide if he had any recommendations and he immediately pointed across the street to O'rorkes. Raved about it and said it was his fave. Told us to tell them "spooky" sent us and we would get 10% off the bill. Ok....we gave it a shot. Walked in and they seated us. place seemed like it was an old building. Quaint but nothing fancy. We weren't starving so we decided to just order a few appetizers. The pretzel topped with crabmeat and cheese was ok. The pretzel was very big and doughy. Nothing like we expected. The stuffed mushrooms with crab and cheese were also just ok.. Don't worry, no more more crab and cheese!! Fried pickles were great!! Some of the best I've had. Last, the plate of nachos grande. Big plate but they had some processed nacho cheese ob the lower chips and on top the sprinkled shredded cheese that was cold and not melted. There was supposed to be ground beef on it that was nowhere to be seen! My wife asked the waitress and she brought out a bowl of it and apologized. It's pretty hard to screw up a plate of nachos with cheese! I mean there is NO cooking involved.....just assembly and they got it wrong! I would have gone to 2 1/2 or 3 stars if not for that. Last, my beer wasn't that cold and they never took the 10% off the check!! You can probably do better around here.

We dropped into O'Rorke's for lunch on our first day in Gettysburg. I had the Rueben and my wife had the Buffalo Shrimp Wrap. Both were very good - the Buffalo Shrimp Wrap had some serious heat to it. But the thing was brought us back a second day was the Peanut Butter Chocolate Stout that they had on tap. The staff was friendly and attentive. the outdoor seating under the pergola with the trumpet vine growing on it was nice and cool on a warm day.

Exellent food, good prices, and friendly staff. I had steak, my wife had salmon, and borh were delicious. Large servings, neither of us could finish. We enjoyed dining outside, watching all of the folks walking by and going in and out of the shops.

We were in Gettysburg during the Nor'easter in October. We went to this bar twice during the snow storm. For a bar, it was great, the people, the ambiance, however, I hate to say it, I was not pleased with my crab cake melt. It was too rich for me. I would definitely go back, though!

Good deal on the Monday steak special. Delicious house dressing. Excellent sweet potato fries. Great kids meals. Earned 4 stars. Deduct 1 star for TV tuned to Faux Noise.

Walked by O'rorke's and saw the sweet potato fries and had to stop here to eat. I ordered the three cheese grilled cheese sandwich, sweet potato fries, and apple fritters. The apple fritters were great, well above expectations, but the sweet potato fries were a disappointment. They were on the cold side and flavor wise not great for sweet potato fries. Service and prices were both good. I highly recommend the apple fritters.

The first place I ate on my first trip to Gettysburg was O'Rorke's. It would have been nice to sit outside and watch the tourists go by clutching their cheesy new Civil War souvenirs but the rain kept us inside. The inside is a little small, but not too crowded, with a kind of a "welcome home" vibe (hard to explain). For dinner I ordered a pulled pork sandwich which, for some unknown reason, came with a slice of tomato and lettuce. I've seen some places put these things on the place next to the sandwich for you to ignore, but O'Rorke's puts them in the sandwich. I'm not a fan of this. The sandwich came with two sides (I think) the only one of which I can recall are the apple fritters which were new to me. If the idea is new to you too, an apple fritter, I found out, is a fried piece of deliciousness the size and shape of an apple slice filled with apple pie filling. I wish they gave you more than just five because they are amazing. While the apple fritters were amazing, and they have Guinness on tap, overall O'Rorke's is just a pretty average 3 / 5.

After our paranormal ghost tour with EMF meters just we decided to look for a bar...voila! just across the street was O'Rorkes...how convenient huh?...we decided to get a few drinks before going to our B&B at the Dobbin house. It was past midnight and there was a small group of people outside drinking...so there was hope! We sat outside, but no one seemed to be serving so we went straight to the bar. . Erick (but on the receipt says Aaron) very nice guy, local, very attentive and made a rocking Cosmo adding Grand Marnier! I must have had 3...losing count...and a biker offered me a ride on his Hardley and heck yeah we left at 65mph! The biker returned me to the bar, I gave Erick nice tip and we left. My bf wasn't upset just made me think that I could've been "taken" the guy was a local and stuff happens. My bf said that without the Cosmos I never would've jumped on the bike...hmmmm let me think about that one for a while... for his sake if he reads this review, yes baby....it was the cosmos!... So, great service, clean bathrooms, cool people..we stayed passed 1:30AM! Just a great time.

been there many times. the beer is always cold and the atmosphere is nice. the food is typical bar food. nothing to brag about, but not bad for bar food. i have always had good service there even when crowded. the prices are a little high ($12 salads) but they have cheap specials. i had a $5 special the other day. ham and swiss melt with french fries. good size portion and good. overall a good place for such a torist area.

Quaint little pub/restaurant with a friendly staff. My favorite menu item? The spinach salad with blackened chicken! Filling and delicious!

This was recommended by a co-worker who lives nearby. We stopped for lunch after touring the battlefields. The weather was nice so we sat outside under the canopy of plants (a few leaves fell on the table, but no big deal). Service was stellar and the food and beer very good. They were out of the hoppiest beer, but my brother had never had Yuengling, so that was new for him. I would go back (not sure if I'll ever be in Gettysburg again, but I've been twice now so who knows?)

We've been here a couple times when we've been in town. Typical bar food, a little pricey for what it is, but it's usually decent. Staff and service was good.

  • Mark D.

The food here is very good... A tad pricey on some items. We sat outside because the ambience inside was extremely loud. If the weather is nice I recommend the outdoor seating. The furniture could stand an update though. Old picnic tables... Some bistro style seating would be more appropriate. Overall experience was good though and we would go back again.

I would bypass this place. Me and my other half were on vacation. And decided to stop for dinner. We ordered and waited about 40 minutes for our food. The food came out as we were ready to leave. I had the crab cake melt, which was good but they forgot to bring my sides. I did not receive the rest of my food until we were done and about ready to leave. His pasta was under cooked. Go to Garryowen's Irish pub instead.

We came here for dinner and the food was terrible. Our server was friendly and attentive but it was not enough to offset the bad food. I had the popcorn shrimp. The small shrimp was coated with so much batter to double the size of the shrimp. It is called popcorn shrimp! I am expecting small shrimp! I substituted my fries for apple fritters which were also tiny and it came in a small little supermarket sample cup. The coleslaw was just cabbage and mayonnaise also in a small little supermarket sample cup. If I wanted samples, I would have gone to a supermarket! My cocktail sauce came in a little supermarket sample cup. The sauce was sitting in the refrigerater so long the water started separating from the rest. It was cold and hard. I had to remix it back up and wait for it to become room temperature. My friend had the crab cake sandwich. There were hard, little pieces in it. The sandwich became inedible. I assume it was the crab shell but I cannot confirm that. The taste of the crab that you could eat was bland and cold. The fries were overcooked. They came out crunchy like potato chips but they were ice cold. The popcorn shrimp basket was hot but the crab cake sandwich was cold. Also, if you use the men's room it does not lock. The bathroom was meant for 1 person at a time so the toilet has no stall. Since the door does not lock, you might walk in on someone taking a dump!

I highly recommend the crab pretzel, it is sinfully delicious! My husband got the meatloaf and it was full of great flavor! I got the crab cake melt and it is best complimented with the sweet potato fries and apple fritters! Really enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the passers-by! Great experience, and who can complain about Guinness on-tap?

Friendly service, fast service and food was pretty good. We had the pork nachos and our only complaint was that the cheese was not melted on the nachos, but the pork was fantastic!

Love this place. Hubby and I went for bike week. He had the Irish meatloaf and I had corned beef and cabbage. The food was amazing. The service was good and the waitress was friendly and we never had to ask for drink refills.

What a great find! Waiting for a ghost tour and decided to have a bite. $12. 12oz steak and a side! Delicous!!!! Pretzel sticks with cheese were also great! Hannah anticipated our needs and was ready to help us any chance she could. We are here in Gettysburg for a couple of days I see us returning for another meal.

This eatery in Gettysburg, PA was available for all of it's menu for a late lunch/early dinner for us on our trip walking around the Historical downtown section. Boyfriend and I shared the Shepards Pie Potato Skins which was kind of silly because those were LITERALLY a meal in themselves (think two huge potatoes, split in half, stuffed with ground beef, corn, and cheese and broiled to a crisp). They were delicious, but we literally just picked at our main meals after that which was the Pot Roast sandwich and the Buffalo Chicken wrap, both with fries (and mine with Applesauce, because I am secretly a 7 year old). Server was sweet, and it was a wonderful reprieve from the first real COLD weekend of the year. Would probably NOT go back, unless it was to check out some of the live music that they apparently have on the weekends!

I stopped in for lunch and a Guinness and not a bad place overall. Yes I saw the errant fly buzzing around like another reviewer mentioned. And for lunch I had the Reuben which was pretty good. The fries that came with were your basic food service fries so I probably should have went for the sweet potato fries instead. Service was fine as was the beer. Just your average food and pub.

Great lunch spot. Sat outside on the awesome patio which they have shade and sun options. Food was good. Good sized portions. Beer list was good. Service was better than average. Would for sure go again.

Cheater nachos! Sprinkling grated Mexican cheese on tortilla chips and then covering with melted Velvita does not a pile of nachos make! Blech!

We were in Gettysburg to visit the battlesite, and after our long day, we were looking for a place to grab some dinner. We were there for the anniversary of the battle, so the town of G-Burg was absolutely mobbed. No big deal - we knew what we had signed up for. The reviews for this place were pretty good, so we decided to give it a shot. We needed a table for 4 and the hostess told us it would be about 20-25 minutes. Well, about 4 minutes later we were seated. Kind of strange but whatever... O'Rorke's has a bar area, a dining room and an outdoor section. We were seated in the dining room area. The decor is part dive bar - part Irish pub. The table we were seated at was a little sticky and the room was a little on the warm side. I would classify the servers here as "young and inexperienced" but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes, the young kids really hustle and the service turns out great. Not so much here. Our waitress seemed really spaced out and had some major difficulties with simple orders. She had no idea what beers they had on tap or it they made any kind of frozen drinks. She also took an incredibly long time to get us our drinks but that may have been the bartenders fault. On to the food - there were 4 of us. Two people had salads, one had the crabcake sandwich and I had the Buffalo Chicken wrap. My wrap was OK, but it was incredibly small. The salads were actually huge and pretty good. My wife had the Greek salad - I had a few bites and it was good. The fries were pretty bland, too. Overall, I would say this place has average food and spotty service. If I lived in the area, I would probably give it a second chance. Since I don't, I doubt I will be heading back. I can't even say there are better choices in the area (since I don't know), but I would probably roll the dice with a couple other places. However, this place definitely seemed OK to go in and grab a drink.

I have been coming here for years, and I must say I find myself coming less often. I hate to say this bc I was such a huge fan of this place, but the food quality has gotten worse with every visit. My last attempt to give the restaurant another try was just last week(march 2014) they not only messed my order up with no apologies, but when they corrected my sandwich it came out a mess. It was thrown together in an attempt to correct the order quickly and I was so disappointed with my rachel that I only ate two bites until I just wasnt hungry anymore from the awful quality,. They obviously have let this restaurant go and im sad to say im just not wasting anymore money to be unsatisfied.

Shepherds pie is yummy! I liked the outdoor seating. I can see this place as a fun hangout spot for friends!

Pub food; apple fritters were tasty, sandwiches hit the spot. I'd recommend for a quick bite and a beer. Generally speaking this was a pub I'd return to.

Two stars might be a bit much.. its all about customer service and satisfaction. Good? The ultimate sampler is impressive and allows you to try a few things.. caution-- its alot! Credit to them for this plate. Bad?? The service. Ordered the ribeye. Steak was to satisfaction but the mashed potatoes are FAKE. Im southern, and we cherish our mashed potatoes. Also got a side of vegetables, but for some reason they sprinkled pepper on them before serving them. Note to the restaurant: Ask before sprinkling anything. I know I am not the only pepper hater. The one thing that bothered me the most, they never asked why I didnt touch the vegetables or mashed potatoes. They just billed me and said have a nice night. I wont be back. I like the area of Gettysburg, but more so like a great atmosphere to hang out in. Have a nice night O'Rorke's.....

Atmosphere is adequate, service was friendly and timely, the shepherds pie potato skins were very good, but the skins themselves were a little over cooked, meatloaf, bangers and mash were good with adequate helpings and a moderate price.

This restaurant is in need of a "Restaurant Impossible" make over. Great location and if the food was good, it would be a gold mine!! I ordered the special which was beef tips. Meal was served very quickly and was barely warm. The beef tips were chewy. I ordered broccoli for a side and it was served barely warm with nothing on it. My husband had the shepherds pie which was made with sage. I did not like it at all.

Great variety of appetizers and sandwiches offered, which is exactly what we were looking for at the time. While there were a number of full meal entrees available, we stuck to something simple. Wings, sandwiches and wraps were all good. The server was very helpful when we ordered, and attentive throughout the meal. This was a pleasant surprise, and we will be back at some point.

If you are looking for fine dining look elsewhere. If you want decent food with a fairly wide variety at medium ($12-15 typical price ) it is a good place to stop. I like the atmosphere here and the food is pretty good. I typically get the crab melt. It is ok but that close to Baltimore I would expect better. Especially when they have several highly touted crab cake menu items. Unfortunately there is not a jumbo lump to be found and the stringy crab meat makes one wonder if it is one of those "crab and assorted seafood" mixtures. Still the sweet Potato fries are good. Location and the old time Gettysburg appropriate decor keep me coming back when in town..

Avoid. No Irish to it, in terms of both decor and employees. Shepherds Pie was good, but the vegetables accompanying it were bland, steamed things from a Wal-Mart freezer bag. "Caesar salad" was ridiculously bad: Pre-chopped lettuce (from another Wal-Mart bag) accompanied by a container of store-bought dressing. There's another Irish pub in town that's the real deal. Go to the Garryowen Pub about a block west of the roundabout in city center.

Yummy food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. One of the best places to eat in Gettysburg. Fairly priced for the area and the amount of food you get. Huge portions, so be warned! Love sitting out on the deck in the summertime, and wing nights on Tuesdays are the bomb! Best wings ever! The menu is extensive, so there's certainly something for everybody, and they also have daily dinner and lunch specials. I've never eaten anything I didn't like, and I've tried a lot of different dishes! Definitely check Ororke's out when you visit Gettysburg!

Went here with a couple of friends. The place was packed but we only waited about 15 mins. When we were sat we immediately ordered. I got the glazed little smokey sausage appitizer and shrimp with fries. Wow what big portions! The shrimp were bigger than expected and there were no tails, so you could just pop them in your mouth. My friend got shepperd's pie potatoe skins and fried pickels. She loved them both. The other one got a club sandwhich which was huge. We only waited about 15-20 mins if that, to get our food. Came fast for being so packed. If we return we will definately hit this joint again. Yummy

If I could give it zero stars I would. I was there with a party of six. No one had a good meal. The orange chicken and sides were way overcooked. Fried Scallops? Really? Terrible.

Nice, casual, and low key. I suggest the buffalo fries.

Terrible service, mediocre food. Don't be tempted. Drive to Lincoln's. Took ~1 hr to get food (and was just the appetizer). Weak showing on all accounts.

Real Good, in a unique historical setting. Food was good, the service was ok. It was petty busy. I'd recomend

One of the friendliest places in town. Great food (everything from apps to full entrees, go for the loaded cheese fries or wings to start), awesome daily specials (Mondays feature the BEST $10 strip steak you will ever taste), fantastic bartendress (looking at you Becky) and festive atmosphere make this a Gettysburg can't miss. Sit out on the patio and watch the world go by, you won't regret it!

Lively, fun place in the heart of it all. Biggest tip: make reservations on a weekend. Decent service, large portions of food. We all took food home. Had my Smithwick's on draft, which made me quite happy. Shepherd's pie potato skins were unique. Wish our fried pickles were chips, not spears. Food was above average. All in all: recommend it.

This is a consistently good place. Good, moderately priced food, a bar with some semblance of character and a waitstaff that earns its tips. While there's Guinness on tap, of course, O'Rorke's does s nice job of rotating something new, interesting, and regional into its tap selection. The booths in the bar section are large, high-backed, and wooden. Get one if you can. Fish and Chips and Shepherd's Pie are good choices. Nice outdoor seating in summer, but try to get the side seats and avoid the car fumes on Steinwehr Avenue.

I make it to Gettysburg once a year. I always eat here. Great food, great service. And more then once I have seen a ghost In confederate grey sitting at the end of the bar. Or is it just a renactor?

Beer was cold, fish and chips was mediocre and while my son ordered the "popcorn shrimp" these bad boys came were 20 counts if not 16's. The crust on them was pretty nasty, it wasn't a light touch. But hey, I was looking for a cold beer and a sandwich. It fulfilled those needs. I most likely would go back again as the options are pretty limited in Gettysburg...ok well all of central PA.

We have eaten at this restaurant several times and it is always good. It is crowded on the weekends but they do take reservations. Very difficult to find parking. We always just walked from our hotel. They serve french onion soup in a bread bowl which I love and they had an apple flavored wheat beer that was delicious.

Being a Civil War reenactor, I travel to Gettysburg more often than a sane person should. That said, there are two restaurants that I hit every single time I'm in town: O'Rorke's is #1 on that list. The place is often crowded, noisy and busy. Don't let that dissuade you. Their Shepard's' Pie and Guinness Beef Stew are simply fantastic. They are a must-have. Very thick, tasty, and good sized portions. I've not had better at a restaurant. Prices are reasonable. Really--- if you're in the 'burg and not hitting O'Rorke's, you've chosen poorly.

The Shepards Pie was amazing! The crab soup was also delicious and came in a large bread bowl. Would definitely visit again as the food was so good! Service was acceptable, and ambience was very nice.

A former local was showing me around Gettysburg, and this was her first suggestion for dining. We had outdoor seating. They have both Guinness and Harp on tap--the true mark of a decent Irish pub. The menu features a decent blend of traditional and Irish pub food. Our wait service was a bit slow when it came to the check, but otherwise our server was on top of our refills.

Wow!! Excellent!! Our party of 6 recently lunched here while visiting Gettysburg. Very casual pub setting with a surprising menu. Many great options to choose from. Our order consisted of a 1lb burger (our teenage son's dream come true), nachos and wings both on special for $5 each, spicy clam chowder in a bread bowl (all I can say is wow- loved it), and the Guiness meatloaf sandwich (my husband's dream come true) and Guiness on tap, of course! Great food, good prices, perfect!

Party of 8 last weekend. Could not get our waitress attention for 23 minutes. Went to the bar for a glass of water, and asked where our waitress was. The lady behind the bar seemed frazzled and went into the kitchen and did not come back out while I was standing there. I thought i was on "candid camera" or something. We had been to oroaks previously, but will not go there again. It was terrible. Waiting for the bill was another hour.

Stopped by here after a day of touring for dinner and were quickly seated on a weeknight despite being a party of 8. The service was good and everyone's food and drinks seemed great. I got the corned beef and cabbage dish and it was excellent and made for great leftovers.

We ate here a year ago--more a bar than a place to have lunch. I had a mediocre Shepherd's Pie and my wife's crab sandwich was not much better. For the money I'd eat at McDonalds.

Stopped in after touring the Gettysburg battle sites with my wife. It was super busy and we decided to eat dinner at the bar, since we were crunched for time. The food was great, the beers were plentiful, and the atmosphere was hopping. I ordered the Black and Blue Chicken sandwich. There was plenty of sides and the sandwich was great. My wife ordered a flank steak salad, which was huge. So much so, that she couldn't finish it. The guitarist that played around 8pm, was phenomenal. So much so, that we asked if he had an CDs to buy. All in all, the place is great for pub food.

We stopped by this place as my Fiancé and I are Pub eaters. The place was not busy, yet our waitress was not as attentive to us as she was to her phone. She disappeared a lot, came by maybe twice . The fried mac & cheese was a little pricey for the portion. The fritters were dry. I had a cheeseburger, the bread was stale, the meat bland. We will not return!

It is not often I come across a Irish pub with great food and service! Our family of four visited this place for lunch during spring break. We where sat down immediately upon arrival. Our server, who's name I forgot (sorry) was excellent! Very attentive and pleasant! I ordered the prime rib sandwich and it was delicious, meat was tender and sourdough bread was also good. My side was the buffalo fries which where also very tasty. My daughter had the pasta with red sauce. It was a big portion and had good flavor. Her mother and my son ordered burgers; which where outstanding!! The prices are very reasonable for a pub like this. We where so satisfied with our lunch experience that almost returned for dinner that same night! I would highly recommend this place for families or anyone looking for a good dining experience.
