Now this is what I called a salad. They make the chicken breast fresh and seasoned quite well. I opted for roasted red pepper, olives and locatelli cheese additionally. They are known for their hoagies and pork sandwhiches I believe but this salad is amazing. Well priced and I will definitely have some left for dinner because their is sooo much!! AND the gentleman who checked me out was sooo nice. Made my day!!!

Lennys is your typical old school neighborhood sandwich shop serving some of the freshest hoagies around. The fresh pork is to die for. Our family is always cheating on making dinner and taking home trays of pork, potato salad, rolls, peppers. Stop in, don't pay attention to the locals busting on each other ( it's normal). Enjoy some great tasting sandwiches and grab a laugh! Nick d.

Lenny's has solid take-out sandwich options for the busy people who don't have time to sit down for lunch. Pretty typical area deli with all of the familiar hoagie types (Italian, meatball, roast pork, etc). The set-up is simple--order at the back, collect the food at the front counter, and pay the friendly guy at the register (I presume he is Lenny). I grabbed a pork Italiano (large size) and for $8, I got a foot-long hoagie full of juicy roast pork and cheese. The sandwich was a tad too juicy and ended up being fairly soggy when I ate it twenty minutes later (note to self: eat quickly) and the cheese wasn't strong enough to stand up to the myriads of pork slices. Additionally, I found the potato salad to be quite bland, although the portions were large for the price. Definitely a good option if you're grabbing it and have a ten-minute or less drive/walk back to the office! I believe there is a $10 card minimum as well, and the food is cheap enough that you probably won't hit it. Bring cash.

Had to try Phillys famous roasted pork and decided to wet my appetite here. Thanks to Anthony Bourdain and his Philly episode I led myself to Lenny's. (Tony didn't come here to Conshy) I chose the Italian Roasted Pork with sharp provolone. The sandwich was juicy and the two poblano peppers down the side of the local fresh bakery sub roll was perfect. The cheese at the bottom of the roll kept the bread from being too soggy. Just right! My partner and I were able to sit outside with their cafe seating and enjoy the joggers, walkers, & life passing by in Conshy. There is another place on the other block but that's for next time. The people in here were so nice and even and me a shot. This southern boy had no idea what I was getting into but of course I said YES. It was a pepper with two cheeses inside and it was hot which didn't really go away for a while. Delicious tho! Thx Lenny's and till next time in Conshy.

I've ordered a few times and picked up. The food was always OK, but nothing special with little style. Its your basic deli lunch-to-go place and that's fine. It doesn't pretend to be anything else other than what it is. But, whatever you do... DO NOT take a close look at the food prep area behind the counter. The grill is nasty. The floor is grimy...etc. It just seems this place could stand a good old-fashioned soapy water in a bucket scrubbing.

We sometimes order catering from here for work. I realized this week that I have never actually gone here just to order a regular lunch from the menu. When you walk in you have to walk all the way to the left and they have a counter where they will take your order. If you go straight to the front counter they will tell you to go to the back. I think the smell of delicious food had my ability to see what the hell I was doing blocked out. So don't let it make you make the same mistake. I ended up deciding to go against the grain of reviews and the huge sign that tells you to try the famous Italian hoagies with hot or sweet peppers and went for the Conshy Special. When in Rome, you know. It had ham on rye with cole slaw and provolone cheese. I typically add spicy mustard to a sandwich of this type, but wanted to try it as it is, so left it off for this time. I have to say what a great flipping sandwich. I ate the whole thing in what must have been less than 5 minutes. I was kind of disgusted with myself afterwards. I knew this place was good from the catering but wow the standard lunch menu is a beast too. I'm trying to come up with reasons the day after eating there why I need to go out to lunch again. No clue why I waited so long to stop in here since I work a few minutes down the road. If you are passing through Conshy make this your lunch stop. Amazing.

#100 for the Yelp Philly challange !! Something about these corner sandwich / deli joints that just reels me in. I am a sucker for these, because of the amazing quality and service I have received. Lenny's is no different with a great family ran business that offers anyone who visits an amazing experience. The competition on this street in Conshy is pretty intense when it comes to that "Great Pork Sandwich" with fellow delicatessen a few blocks down the ways. Both of these guys make a great , and I mean GREAT roast pork. What separates Lenny from the other guy is , he does his own version with his own blends of herbs and spices. He preps it himself, ( His rival down the ways also does his own ) with his own ingredients and lets it soak up over time. While this little piggy is getting special treatment, he also offers you you choice of cheese. Sharp provo is the way to go if you ask me, with 2 large jars of different hot peppers. Hey if you choose to add some more kick to your sandwich I say go for it, I do . The rolls are another good choice, this soaks up those juices from the pork making it a perfect combination. I have had roast pork's from both locations, both were phenomenal. Lenny's does make a great version with his own herbs and spices he uses. Even with this little guy soaking up all the flavors to be had if it were to be a tie breaker I am going with.... Lenny's also from being a friendly home like experience has other fully stacked sandwiches he offers including breakfast. Clean and friendly with a fresh product offered you will be leaving fully satisfied.

Lenny's Italian Deli sits in the heart of Conshohocken, PA. Upon entering I could tell from the aromatic allure that this was going to be good food. I also noticed that they have a nice selection of snacks, peppers, jerky, and drinks for lunch as well but Lenny's could be cleaner and warmer, appearance wise. So what did I eat? Or INHALE, rather? I inhaled a soul stuffing veggie sub. It was a spinach based veggie sub, and surprisingly the flavors were off the charts! It was the best veggie sub I've had in some time! Now it was a little soggie, probably because they used frozen spinach, but if they could eliminate that problem, they would have some of the best hoagies in Philadelphia! So far I would choose them over the local competition. Service was quick!

The pork sandwich on a hoagie roll was delicious! I got one with fried onions and my friend had one with provolone. Huge sandwich...great taste...good deal!

First of all, I'm very surprised by some of the negative reviews on here. I suppose no place is perfect and every once in a while they might make a mediocre sandwich... but I haven't experienced that yet! I highly recommend Lenny's cheesesteak. It's fantastic and, in my opinion, better than Pat's or Geno's down in the city. I also love Lenny's regular hoagies, when I'm not in the mood for a heavy cheesesteak sometimes I'll split a turkey hoagie with someone. The seasonings they add to the sandwich take it up a notch compared to other delis. They use fresh Conshohocken Italian Bakery rolls, which are fantastic in and of themselves. Bottom line -- take it from a local Conshy guy, Lenny's is the best sandwich place in town (and one of the best in the whole Philly area!)

I was driving through Conshohocken today and since I was in the land of Zeps and Fried Bologna, I decided to stop at Lenny's Deli on Fayette Street for a Fried Bologna Sandwich. It was a great choice. Fried Bologna is a specialty of the Norristown/Conshohocken area and Lenny's served up a very tasty representation of it. I got it on a long roll (Conshy style) with melted cheese and took it home with me where I added some fried onions and hot peppers to it ... and presto - you have one awesome sandwich. The Fried Bologna sandwich costs only a little more than five dollars. Though Lenny's has all the standard Philadelphia area deli favorites, I recommend checking out the more unusual Fried Bologna and Cheese Sandwich if you're here in the neighborhood.

Excellent cheesesteak! I am only giving it 4 stars because I had to wait in the store awhile to order, I probably should have just called ahead. As far as the cheesesteak went I thought it was packed with meat. They did a great job blending in the cheese and onions, I would definitely go to Lenny's if I was in the Conshy area.

I'll keep this simple . I first started going here in 2002 . My first purchase was their Italian Hoagie , hot peppers , everything . I have yet to try anything else . That's how damn good their Italian hoagie is .I can't order anything else because their Italian hoagie is the absolute gold standard . I guess about 10 years ago a deli in Trooper won Philadelphia Magazines Best Of for Italian hoagie . So I trooped on up and ordered one . Excellent , crumbled parmesan , kind of artisan bread , no regrets . But not as good as Lenny's and more expensive. If you are a fan of the whole big hot vinegary cherry pepper exploding as you bite down on semi tough crust to soft bread innard to sharp provolone and spicy salami followed by a swig of ice cold coke this is it. I get mine to go and usually end up steering my car/truck with my knees travelling westbound on 76 as I squeeze their giant hoagie to fit in my foodhole and trying unsucessfully not to drip the oil and vinegar onto my clothing and seats . And the next day my car smells like onions and salami and I don't care . TOTALLY worth it . I have taken male friends here who ordered cheesesteaks and they looked like they were having multiple orgasms , which I didn't think was possible . Like they grunted something about the size of the thing but kept stuffing their mouths and groaning . Someday I'll try one but no lie , if I'm on 76 , 476, ridge pike or anywhere near there I at least consider the logistics of swinging by there and the Italian hoagie I leave with never makes it home . GOLD STANDARD ,inmho!

They have the best Italian hoagies!!! And the Italian hoagies are always a special that comes with a free can of soda or bottle of water and a bag of chips! Staff was super friendly! Their hours aren't the best since they aren't open for dinner but I will definitely be trying to get here more often!!

I'm not a local but I do a lot of business in Conshohoken. This time I had an associate from Idaho with me. He wanted a real Philly cheesesteak. I didn't feel like driving to South Philly so I took him to Lenny's for a real local experience. We walked in around 5:15. They had a lot of phone orders going but we ordered 2 with and where eating in less than 5 minutes. Chips, drinks, and free hot peppers and we were out the door for less than $20. The owner and staff look scary but they're really just nice guys. They made sure the sandwiches were good and made sure we knew the peppers were free. A great local joint. Good food, good prices, good people. Bonus points for having Birch Beer in the cooler.

Upon seeing the review I was excited as all hell to get a Italiano pork sandwich. The pictures posted by other yelpers make it look like the Holy grail of pork on a wedge. Unfortunately that is not what I got. A thinly packed little bitch wedge with sharp cheddar chucks only on one side of the sandwich. I wanted to cry because my hopes and dreams were shattered. Lenny's turned out to be what I feared it was..... A basic bitch. I felt worse for my coworkers who ordered salads because If I was them I woulda had to chew on my finger nails to fill the void that these lacking salads would create. Grilled chicken salad was literally a peice of sliced grilled chicken on top of sandwich lettuce, nothing more and nothing less. The Philly cheese steak salad was the same , sandwich lettuce with meat and cheese plopped right on the Top like a layer of shit. I wanted so much more from this establishment but at the end of the day I was left hungry and saddened.

While the service was great, and the owner seemed like a wonderful guy I have to say I got the meatball parmigiana sub today and was really disappointed. After biting into the sandwich I saw that the inside of both meatballs were very very pink. I had to poke around and try and guess how cooked they were and after trying to eat it I ended up having to nuke it to try and finish cooking it which only half worked and made the rest unpleasant. Also there was almost no tomato sauce at all on the sandwich just cheese and two pink meatballs :( Maybe this was a once in a million chance, both of the people I went with enjoyed the pork italiano sandwich very much

If you are talkin' roast pork sandwiches or Italian hoagies, sorry Philly, Lenny's got you beat. Usually working behind the counter, Lenny has the most flavorful, juicy roast pork I've ever had. You have a wide variety of peppers to choose from, from the hot goat horns to the tangy reds to the sweets. Make sure to pick up some provolone as well. The Italian hoagies are well worth the global nuclear caloric bomb you will inflict on yourself. The meats are top notch, and the rolls... The roll is the secret ingredient to any deli sandwich, and Lenny's fresh Conshohocken Bakery rolls turn a great sandwich into ambrosia. Skip the chains and the gimmicky hoagie shops and make a bee-line right to Lenny's for your next roast pork fix.

Today was the day, my first time ordering the famous Pork Italiano. I've heard plenty of great feedback about it, and after trying a half dozen excellent items from Lenny's menu, today was the day. The sandwich came standard with sharp provolone, and the juice from the large quantity of pork had thoroughly saturated the roll, which somehow managed to keep from splitting down the middle like so many inferior hoagie rolls do. As a result, every bite was another explosion of flavor, another welcome challenge to keep the moist shreds of meat from spilling out of the top of the sandwich. I'm a cheesesteak guy by nature, but for how delicious and different this sandwich is from anything else in Conshy, it might be the best lunch-on-a-roll in town.

Best hot roast beef and pulled pork sandwiches around. Whenever I stop in, I always grab some long rolls and a quart of roast beef or pulled pork to go.

Good, real, Italian food. I got an Italian hoagie (I'm Italian and didn't even know you could get "other"types of hoagies like a Roast Beef Hoagie...huh?) Anyway, good Provolone, they used salami, maybe capicola but not the hot kind and some other ham looking meat. Only gave 4 stars because the hoagie could have used another layer of meat... I also got a small pork sandwich with hot peppers and Provolone. Delicious but the bread gets real soggy real fast so you need to eat it real soon after you order it - especially if you get it wrapped. Also, I didn't notice if they had broccoli rabe but they should because that is bomb on a pork sandwich. It would have been nice to ask if I wanted that on my sandwich but maybe that's a regional thing... The place has been around since I was a little kid and going to St Cosmos and Damien. We'd stop after church to get pork sandwiches back then - 30 + years ago. The guys behind the counter are paisanos so it's a real casual and comfortable atmosphere for me. Really hits the spot when i'm home visiting from CA.

Their fries are awesome, but other than that I haven't found anything else i'd like to order again. All the sandwiches come out with a soggy roll because they are dripping with something. Yuck. The prices vary greatly depending on who writes it on your bag. Every time I've called in an order, they haven't even started it when I get there 10 minutes later.

Another notable stop on my quest to locate the greatest hoagie ever. I actually found a website that would let me order my Lenny's hoagie online - that is how I found this place! We placed our order on the site (paid, tipped, and all), and shortly after, Lenny himself delivered our sandwiches -- and he was super nice! We ordered an italian hoagie, hot veggie hoagie, and a pizza steak. I had the italian hoagie, and I thought it was phenomenal. The bread was just perfect, and the quality of the meats and cheeses was very good. For me, the other litmus test of a good hoagie is the hot peppers. I would give these peppers a 4/5. They were sufficiently-hot cherry peppers, which come in right below home-roasted, long hot peppers on the pepper scale. The pizza steak was also very good, and I hear the veggie hoagie was a creative, good option for vegetarians. Anyway, I was very happy all around with Lenny's, and I will definitely order from them again.

After reading the reviews here and working just a few blocks away, I had to go see what all the fuss was about. I went with the consensus favorite, the Roast Pork, Sharp Provolone and Hot Pepper and it was fabulous. The large size (which weighs about a pound) was $8.45 and will serve as lunch and dinner for me. The bread was obviously freshly baked and excellent, the Pork was well seasoned and plentiful and the hot peppers were definitely hot. Overall, excellent sandwich. The folks there are super friendly to boot, which is definitely not the norm for mom & pop sandwich shops in the Philly burbs. Typically you're made to feel privileged to hand your money over to them. In summary, I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

I've had this place on my radar for a couple months and I finally got there today for lunch. Me and a friend split a roast pork with prov and a chicken Italiano. Both were pretty good but I wasn't blown away. Roast pork was juicy and flavorful with not too much oregano which is a common mistake on Italian roast pork sandwiches so i give high marks for that. The provolone was more creamy than sharp. I prefer sharp but that's just a personal preference. The roll was a soggy softy and I prefer hard seeded like a sarcones or liscios. Again, my preference, not their fault. The chicken Italiano was shredded chicken with spinach and provolone. Rarer than layered on top, the spinach was chopped up and mixed in. Interesting concept but it didn't add enough punch. Mostly the whole thing just tasted like a garlic bomb. I'm still burping the garlic. I like garlic a lot but it was even a bit much for me. I wouldn't order that sandwich again. Next time I'll try the Italian sausage but if its not better than corropolese (which is pretty damn good) I don't know if I'll go back. Someone with different cheese, bread, spinach preferences would enjoy this place more than me.

I'm conflicted over giving 4 stars or 5. I love Lenny's but have to be upfront that it's a simple, family run corner deli without frills or fanfare. The deli is in an old building that lacks facade. Should Lenny's be penalized for its simplicity? These are obviously very hardworking people who produce a good product. The pork sandwiches are shocking in substance and goodness. I always order mine plain with gravy (juice) -- the bread is soggy and the total experience is amazing with flavor. I love the hoagies at Lenny's although a friend made a fake retching face when she ate hers....go figure. The rolls are excellent, most likely because they are from Conshy Bakery. The prices are competitive.

So sorry I only discovered this place so late. The roast pork is amazing. juicy, tender, shredded pork and they give you plenty of it. Its so juicy it does make the bread a tiny bit soggy on the bottom, but not enough to stop me from loving it. I do think the right crusty rolls from the right South Philly bakery would improve it immensely. I ate the whole thing even though I was full halfway through, and fell into a food coma shortly after. So of you are bringing it back to the office to eat, make sure you either don't have any deadlines to make or you only eat half the sandwich. My only beef is the hours. I am a late eater, and would be grabbing dinner from here all the time if they didn't close so early. Also, there are lots of times I pass by on my way back from work on the weekends, hungry as a hippo, and they are closed. Offer more hours, Lenny, and I'll eat more pork.

Creme de la creme in Conshy. The Roast Pork is the best I've ever had. You can get a take-home container in the frig for about $5. Bring that to a party with a couple of rolls and you'll make friends. The Italian Hoagie is also awesome and worth having.

I have been to Lenny's many of times during my time in Conshohocken. This is the place to go in Conshy if you want a hoagie. Good portions, good prices and good folks in there. The roast pork sandwich is a sound item to pick up and the Italian hoagie/chips/soda combo for $6 cannot be beat (can't tell you if he's got the same special now though). Also, they have cherry hot peppers which is my jam. You could eat here but really it's a pick-up and grub at your home/work/tailgate spot. The young lady that makes the hoagies is awesome! She's classic grandma stylee.. My main man, who likes Sao Paolo FC produces a packed hoagie and what can't you say about the big kahuna. The only thing "negative" bout the place is it's closed on Sundays... most likely cause Lenny is busy being let down by OUR Philadelphia Eagles! Classic story - In 2008, Lenny got rid of his Birds tickets mid-season to the last game of the year against Dallas when they were struggling (how can you blame the guy? They tied the Bengals that year). Nevertheless, we smoked the Boys and made the playoffs.. How great was it to walk in and tease him for offing his tix!.. and the pork was spectacular that week.

This place really is a deli, the fact that he sells sandwiches threw me off. On quick glance I don't know if you can even sit here, it's more for a buy some packaged meat or cheese and take off. As a Conshy virgin I decided to lose my cherry to the roast pork hoagie. You HAVE to get the cheese with it, that was absolutely delicious. In fact, it reminds me of good North Carolina barbecue flavors but without the extra vinegar-based sauce or cole slaw. I highly recommend this place, if I lived nearby I'd be back to try some of the other sandwiches.

First the good news: I stopped by today for lunch, and found out they're now open on Sundays from 9AM until 2PM. Still a bit short but will certainly increase the frequency of my visits! And of course, there is no bad news. I just started going to Lenny's more often as I've been buying less and less stuff from chain stores. I live right around the corner, but as others have said, the shop closes a little early so I often missed it after work. The roast pork is indeed that good. I go for the italiano (w/ sharp provolone) with hot cherry peppers. It's a good thing they use quality rolls, because all the pork they pile on needs something substantial to hold it. Their zeps are also top notch too, and if you haven't tried this Conshy/Norristown classic, this is a good place to start.

    (4)
  • Andrew P.

My favorite Zep in Conshy, and the roast pork is great as well. What sets them apart? The quality and choice of the bread, the sauce/dressing (both the flavor and using the right amount), and, or course, the meat. I still consider Reading Terminal Market to have the "best" sandwiches - e.g. Salumeria (hands down best Italian sandwich this side of Sicily), or Dinics (Roast Pork-gasm), but...when you can't battle the Schuylkill traffic into the city, can't go wrong with Lenny's.

I ordered Lenny's for a client lunch and I couldn't be more pleased. Got the Roast Pork for 40 people, cheese, bread, fixings, gave me salads (potato and macaroni), along with garden salad, chips and soda. Great deal and the food was amazing.

After starting a new job in the area, I'm on a quest to find the best Italian Hoagie, cheesesteak, and roast pork sandwiches in the Conshy, Norristown, Plymouth Meeting area. I'm using Yelp and other sites to help guide my search, so I checked out Lenny's last night due to the outstanding reviews. I have to admit, that although good - both my wife and I were rather disappointed. We ordered a large of the Italian Hoagie and the Roast Pork Italiano sharing them as a happy couple should do. First off - the rolls were outstanding - quite fresh - with that crusty on the outside, soft on the inside feel that we all love. The roast pork was substantial and had good flavor, but was quite dry and not nearly as tender as I expected. I can see how this sammich would be a potential winner - perhaps I had one on an off day. The IT Hoagie was even more disappointing considering their advertisement of Dietz and Watson meats. The meat was OK - but lacking in flavor, the veggies were scant, and the sandwich didn't have nearly enough oil on it. I'm thinking perhaps the fact that I went on a Monday may be related? Perhaps they were using ingredients that were originally sliced and prepared the previous Friday? I'm not really sure, but in summary - the place was good, but not great. Solid enough to earn 3 stars, but my quest for the best in the area continues!

The pulled pork sandwiches here are to-die-for. Seriously, they are that good. The meat is so tender that it practically melts in you mouth. The bread is also just right (maybe from Amoroso?) and goes perfectly with the pork. If you're in the area, you have to get one. I dare say that it's better than the ones from the Italian Market in South Philly. They also have cheesesteaks and other sandwiches, which I have tried and found to be pretty good. Nothing tops the pulled pork, though.

While I myself still have to order from Lenny's, my boyfriend is a super fan for their zeps. When I visit my family in Schuylkill County, I always have to bring them a zep or hoagie since they can't can't get good rolls up there (and that right there being reason #1 I question the judgement of moving to the middle of nowhere). Mom and brother are always happy and grateful to get their hands on one of Lenny's sandwiches. I really like the adorable old woman who makes the sandwiches there because she always makes fun of me for requesting mom's hoagie with no onions.

We stopped here to pick up lunch for take out. Staff was really nice, almost like catching up with family. We ordered a BLT and two hoagies. Hoagies were fresh and big and the BLT was really good as well. Food was really cheap. I really wanted the pork sandwich because of all the rave reviews. I will be going back to get that next time. Odd hours, I wish they were open later during the night. Parking stinks to since it's on the street but otherwise it's a must stop place to eat if you're in Conshy :)

Lenny's has the best roast pork sandwich around, hands down. I cannot drive by Lenny's without thinking about stopping by and getting a large roast pork. The problem is that when I'm driving through Conshohocken, I'm unfortunately usually in a rush. When I do get a chance to go to Lenny's, I savor every bite. Take a peak in the back and check out the kitchen to see where the magic happens. Last time I was in, they were cooking something in a pot large enough to put 2 motorcycles in, standing vertical that is. You'll see chickens roasting on the grill and roast pork being prepared for the many people waiting for sandwiches. Make sure to get a root beer or birch beer with your sandwich, you can't go wrong! Ask for long hots on your roast pork sandwich, without them your sandwich is incomplete.

  • Zachary H.

I can only speak to the Italian roast pork sandwich, which speaks to just how good theirs is. Lenny's is a hidden gem (in the hype sense, its neon red lights rival Amsterdam's same hued light district) that would put DiNic's out of business if it opened in Reading Terminal. That any kind of pork is able to have so much flavor without any sauce is mystifying. The bread is good enough to eat by itself. I really want to try some of the other menu items, but it's hard to pass up the perfect 10 who likes to watch sports and The Simpsons for a blind date. I don't know how I can love after you, roasted pork. The only drawback is that it oddly closes at 6 pm on week days, which is fine because I'm usually racing there after work anyway.

Best hot sandwich shop anywhere: started going here over lunch break but had to stop myself when I started going almost everyday! Everything seems to be made fresh, by scratch, etc: honestly I've never had food as purely made as this. My personal favorites are the pork italiono, buffalo chicken, and barbeque sausage.

I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich which was just OK. There wasn't anything particularly special about it. I think I was disappointed by the bread selection. I'd give them one more chance since they were terribly busy.

In comparison to all the other places around it Conshohocken, Plymouth meeting, Norristown etc this place is mediocre. I've never been really happy with anything I've gotten there (except the pork, but thats a given). But, I've also never been really unhappy. I say you try it and make your own opinion!

Great turkey hoagies! (Not sure why they stand out but they do.) Barbeque/hot sausage sandwich is a winner. The hot fried cherry peppers by the register keeps me coming back.

After getting a good roast pork sandwich (sorry Lenny, you're not close to the great category but yours is solid nonetheless) a couple of weeks ago, I thought I'd go back for 2nds and try something else for lunch. I think that a meatball is a good barometer of any Italian/sandwich establishment. A meatball is more than just what the name suggests. It's one of those "the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts" things. It's easy to make a bad meatball. It's also apparently easy to make a terrible meatball parm sandwich. If you start with cold meatballs and cold sauce, you're doomed. There's no way to recover from that and there's no excuse for it either. The meatball parm is made long before the customer walks in the door, all you need to do is assemble it. So, when you've got cold meatballs at 1:00 in the afternoon, someone screwed up hours ago. Now, if I was serving sandwiches and realized all I had were cold meatballs, I'd apologize to the customer and ask them to select something else because I'd rather not serve a cold meatball parm. Besides the meatballs and sauce being cold, there's no heat to melt the cheese. That's not a good combination.

Roast Prok sandwich is Great! Sandwich was stacked with delicious roast pork, provolone, and spinach, Not complaints about the sandwich at all. Only 4 stars, thought the price for a roast pork was a little much.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the sandwiches from Lenny's! I normally get a turkey hoagie and my husband loves the roast pork. I've tried a bite of his and seriously it's the best I've ever had!!! All the deli meats are of good quality...no slimy turkey. The rolls are fresh. The potato salad was really good. Plain but I tend to like the simple kinds of salads anyway. They are very friendly and our order has never been slow. Our new hoagie place for sure!

i definitely enjoy lenny's on occasion. pretty much the best sandwich around conshy. obviously the roast pork is the main attraction, but i am partial to a club and it's great as well. only negative is that it's not open later. a post-work sandwich is virtually impossible unless you are right down the street.

Roast Pork Sandwich - Good . Retirement Home Hours - Bad. I feel like I need to channel my inner Morty Seinfeld trying to make the early-bird dinner special in Del Boca Vista in order to get to Lenny's during operable hours. And I live 50 feet away! But I digress. We (intelligent food people) all know that the "Bread Makes The Sandwich". Lenny's Italian Roast Pork meets Conshohocken Italian Bakery Roll. This combination makes up one of the better Roast Pork Sandwiches in the area. I'd even put it up against some of the best Roast Pork Italians more associated with Philadelphia (Hello, DiNic's).

Great family owned place that is all about quality. The bread is amazing and I think it is from the Conshy Bakery. I think highly of the cheesesteak. The provolone is tasty and blended in with the meat and onions. My only complaint is that it wasn't greasy enough. That is just the way I prefer them. The roast pork is a good bet as well. I didn't especially care for the hoagie. It was done well and comes on a harder roll than the other sandwiches but it didn't have as much meat as some of the world class hoagies I am used to. Still a good experience. Lenny's is one of the best in the western burbs.

I tried primo hoagies up the road and was terribly disappointed. Lenny's is a lot better. Regular sized subs cost $6.25 here and $9 at primos. The family who runs this restaurant is super nice and I always feel welcome here. They sell hot hoagies, cold subs, hot dogs, huge pickles in a barrel and various deli meats. The subs aren't the best I've ever had but aren't bad. The rolls they use kind of suck though and are pretty tasteless. I'm big on bread, so this really was a downer for me. The amount of meat/cheese in your sandwich is pretty fair. I've only tried their Italian hoagie so I can't comment on their other sandwich choices. I'll keep coming here till I find a better Italian sub somewhere.

the positive is that the guy working in there was super nice...great dude. almost makes me feel bad to say this. Just moving to Conshy from Manayunk, we thought this was the same kind of Lenny's that is on Ridge Ave. in Manayunk....the awesome one with a menu board the size of a house wall and incredible unique sandwich/subs on great bread with excellent meats, cheeses, and toppings/sauces. Anyone who has been to Lenny's in Manayunk understands this. I thought this was the same thing and sadly it wasn't. Go to the grocery store and get italian meat....can make your sub just the same at home as Lenny's does. Will never go back...but anyone who compares this to the real Lenny's in Manayunk would never step foot in here. But the guy working was really nice!

There is something magic about their roast pork. I'm not a big pork guy but this place is special.

When I get near this place, I salivate...As far as I am concerned, they have the best Italian Pork sandwich in town!!! I get mine with sharp provolone and hot peppers. I always get the bigger size, figureing that I'd eat half of it later.. Yeah, right!! This sandwich is a party in my mouth! The prices aren't cheap, but the sandwich is so damn good, I just don't care!! And.. Lenny seems to be a pretty decent guy. I am giving only 4 stars because I have never tasted anything else that they make there

As far as roast pork goes, these are pretty damn good sandwiches. The whole establishment, including the guys who work there, are pretty old school. I ordered my pork Italiano with an old man, maybe Lenny himself, and when a younger man came up to take our order my boyfriend began to give his. Not knowing I had already ordered, the guy then began to offer my boyfriend some relationship advice by launching into a story about how after 30 years of marriage he's learned that the woman always talks first, because when she's happy, he's happy. I'm used to this kind of open, friendly dialogue in the midwest, but here in Philly I tend to appreciate it way more because you don't get it everywhere. These sandwiches are massive, and eating half was a feat. They're piled with so much pork I had to take some off to make it manageable to hold, and they layer thick slices of melty sharp provolone at the bottom. Delish. Later on I realized that they do have a smaller (and cheaper) size of this behemoth, but that wasn't suggested. Oh well, more for later. Tip: I think you can get the pork to go, and since it's pretty much unseasoned I bet it would be awesome with some BBQ sauce for pulled pork sandwiches.

Lived a block away for over a year, and finally went for the first time about two weeks ago. I'm a terrible local. I had originally heard about this place for their Italian specialities such as the roast pork. But as the smell of sharp prov makes me a little nauseous, I picked my hoagie standby: the chicken salad sandwich. I think some of their sandwiches come in large and regular/small sizes, but I didn't specify so I'm not sure how mine would compare. It was huge though, I got a bag of chips and so it was easily enough for two meals for the price of a little more than 6 bucks. The chicken salad itself was surprisingly really good. It was seasoned, with a good amount of pepper and other unidentified by me spices. I also really liked that the chicken was shredded instead of cubed, as if I couldn't already tell how homemade everything was. Most condiments come free, and are automatically added, but I requested hot peppers with mine which added a ton of flavor. I think a close second favorite thing about the place was the homey feel. I went on a Friday afternoon while they were busy filling a catering order. Felt as though the whole family was there, all busting each other's chops. Especially Uncle Joey's (just guessing on the name there) chops, as he looked to be the typical uncle who didn't have much clue as to what he was doing! Mom seemed to be working the sandwiches, Pop and Son were putting everything together, Uncle Joey was standing around doing nothin', everybody was having fun. Loved that. I knocked it down a star mostly for the inconvenience of hours. It closes fairly early, and I don't generally eat dinner until after 9. One of the reasons why it took me so long to get there. But it's understandable as it's really mostly a deli and most people go for lunch.

The best hoagie I've had in Philly wasn't in Philly, but in Conshy at Lenny's. Big, fat, cheap, well-made, top-quality ingredients, great bread and a nice oil mix at about 5 to one mixed with balsamic and seasoned w/ garlic, black pepper and oregano. In addition to Lenny and a young Hispanic cook, several older ladies work here-- save one they are friendly and by their speed and hot-shit personalities you'd think they were in their 20s. 5 stars for the cold-cut hoagies only. Cheesesteaks okay. Roast pork not so hot, the rest hit or miss.

I came here for the pulled pork and that's what I got so that's what I'll review (although the Welch's grape was an excellent vintage). Generally I am on a constant search for the best BBQ pulled pork sandwich but, while I usually aim for the sauced up variety, I am not so foolish as to think there aren't good non-bbq sambos out there for me to enjoy. Lenny's has an excellent sampling of just such a case with it's Italian pork foot long (two large pork Italianos and two sodas plus tax came to $20.03). Served with provolone and dripping with juice, this heavy meal is stuffed thick with piggy goodness that can definitely be split for two meals. Couldn't tell if it was the fact that I hoovered it down or the Italian seasoning being a little much for me that did this, but to my immense shame the last bite went uneaten. Still looking for that BBQ heaven on a bun, but at least I now know where to get a top notch naked one (thank you Danan R.)

This is one of those "I know a great little place" kinda places. Try the pulled pork sandwich. Outdoor self-seating.
