Somehow I have never eaten at Tony Luke's on Oregon Avenue. I don't get to that neighborhood often and the parking there is a lot worse than around Geno's and Pat's. So we were already at Harrah's Philadelphia (which is actually in Chester, but that's another story). We were deciding on a place to eat. I am not a fan of their buffet. And I didn't like anything about Cafe Napoli when we ate there. So we chose Tony Luke's. The set up leaves a lot to be desired. But I'm sure it's because the place used to be the track snack bar You order from one window (where the guy taking orders was very nice and professional). He gives you your receipt and tells you that you will need it to pick up your order at the next window. You go over to the next window, wait a few minutes, and are given your order in a white plastic bag (that employee not as nice or professional). There isn't a lot of seating. There are only about 8 of the higher bar-like tables which can only sit 3 people. The cheesesteak was a little on the expensive side ($10), but I'm sure you're paying for the casino. It was okay. The bun was good and the whiz was while it's whiz you can't screw that up. But the steak was meh. When I was done, there was very little of the cheesy grease on the wrapper that I have come to expect from a good cheesesteak. The french fries come in a big bucket (and they were $5). They didn't taste like they had just come out of the fryer like they do at many places now. And they were a little over-salted. The bill came to almost $18 for a sandwich, fries, and a drink. I am willing to pay that for an excellent product. This wasn't worth it.

This place is a disgrace, Tony if you care about your customers, and what they think of your sandwiches you need to spend some time at this location and serve a better product, if not take your name off it, your not doing yourself any justice for the empire you built in South Philly!!!

Steaks taste like steakums. Pork sandwich is the only OK dish. Better to eat upstairs.

After a busy day at the slot machines upstairs, heading downstairs to Tony Luke's in the racetrack concourse is a great place for a bite to eat at Harrah's Philadelphia. Their french fries are totally better than McDonald's, the roast pork, roast beef sandwiches, as well as the cheesesteaks they're known for, makes for a good and filling meal, before returning back to gamble. Have not tried the burgers, but have seen the cheesesteak on Man Vs. Food, and had to try it, since I'm now living on the East Coast. I was not disappointed, as the sandwich roll was filled to the brim with steak, provolone and sweet cherry peppers. Most definitely will return whenever I'm at the casino again!

Right next to the poker room, so perfect for me! Had an awsome double cheeseburger with bacon! Usually I only have cheesesteaks here, but the burger and fries were awesome last night.

Disgrace is a good word for this place! The worst sandwich I have ever eaten, by far. I ordered the chicken cheese steak with fried onions. Where's the chicken? Paid $8.95 for a roll. Doesn't even deserve one star, just awful. Bland, no meat, very little onion, and some cheese, you should be ashamed, your customers deserve better. I would definitely not return.

Way too expensive and really average food at best. Never crowded when I am there and no wonder why. I think I bought the $6 fries the last time there. Ugh, the casinos wants it all!

I had a pork sandwich at the Harrah's location this past Tuesday and it was horrible. It was served basically dipped in the gravy....the roll soggy, unedible and after a few bites....good bye. I have been eating Tony's Pork sandwiches in Philly for years, but the product served in Harrah's was very poor. On the menu the Chicken Cutlet was listed as "Arriving Soon". No hurry please! Must say, the counter person was very friendly, however appears that they share duties between other concessions at the Casino. Not the experience I was expecting, but I had to try one being so close to home.

Over priced SLOP! My husband and I ate lunch there last week because the buffet was closed. I got the chicken parm sandwich and was totally disappointed. It was $7.29 for the small size. I opened it to find there was a small 4" piece of chicken on a 7" roll. It then tasted like a chicken patty not even a real chicken cutlet. I think it was microwaved. It was that bad. I am not a picky eater, but that was dog food. This is the first review I have ever written, but I wanted to save some one else their hard earned money. We are regulars at the casino and I will never buy anything from there again. We live in New Jersey and have made special trips over the bridge just to buy a Tony Luke sandwich on Oregon Ave., so you can see why we were so disappointed with this one. I totally agree with Vern H.'s review.
