#7 Bacon & Cheese Double Steakburger Enough said! This is what keeps me coming back for more. The taste of those pressed steakburgers, crisp bacon, long-sliced pickles, and condiments not to mention the mountain of shoestring fries and some Freddy's sauce is heaven! If you love fries like I do, it's probably worth it to note that I have always gotten double the amount of fries when dining in the restaurant versus going through the drive-through.

3.5 Stars if that was an option. This is a fancy fast food place by that I mean nicer than McD, BK, or Wendy. It's a good place to bring your family for a quick bite to eat. I went with my wife and 2 yo daughter. The staff was very friendly, the place was pretty busy but it didn't seem that way when we ordered our food, we were able to order right away. It was our first time there so they helped us with the menu. You order at a counter like most fast food places, they don't have servers. All our meals were good. I had a Patty Melt meal that came with shoestring fries. It was decent haven't had one in a while. Washed it down with a black and white sake that was pretty good. After we were done I was cleaning up and going to take our trays to dispose of the mess we made and someone that worked there came over and did that for us. Thought that was nice of them. Not sure if they do that all the time but it was appreciated.

Eh... If you're looking for a family spot to bring the kids out for a burger, then this place will do. For me, I probably won't be back. I had their bacon cheese combo. The burger really had no taste other than salt. The fries were like shredded potato. Don't really have much more to say. The place was clean, bright, and had plenty of room to sit.

I'm giving this place 5 stars for being just what you expect, good food that comes out fast in a friendly environment. This place is great for kids. If you want a quiet place, don't come here. My 3yro could talk loudly and it blended into the loud ambience. The burgers where hot and tasty and the ice cream was delicious. We will be returning at the request of my 3yro.

5 stars for faster food. Cooked to order so its not as fast as say a Mickey d's. FRESH food. Comfortable interior. actually its a fun interior reminiscent of the 60s. The fries are to die for. If you're a fry fan stop in! Burgers are huge so i opt for smaller versions.

Awesome food. Burgers are delicious, fries are great too, especially with their fry sauce. Haven't had any ice cream from there yet. Been there two times and will continue to go back. Clean place and everyone who works there seems to love what they're doing. Fantastic customer service. Hope this place sticks around since it's the only one in Pennsylvania haha

This place is awesome! If you want a place your friends will go to the trouble of taking a picture of themselves flipping the bird to send you when you send them a picture of your meal when they're not there, this is the place! I went with the BBQ Bacon double steak burger and fries and then went back for a S'mores malted concrete. This place is awesome! The staff would actually come by to check on you, take any trash and see if you need anything. THIS is how "fast food" should be done. Did I mention they make malts? Yup, they seem to be uncommon at best here on the east coast, but they do them right here. And if I haven't mentioned it yet, this place is awesome!

Try a double burger. The patties are thin with crisp edges, and look hand-formed. Very tasty. While you're at it, get a Chicago hot dog. Then get a Concrete for dessert. You will waddle-out with a big grin.

Festive ambience, Quickly prepared food, its a burger joint that hits the spot w/o killing the wallet.

Freddy's is a fast food upgrade. Better burgers, better fries, better options (shakes and cakes). The burgers, I mean steaks, are on par with Five Guys or Steak and Shake, taste wise. The fries are thin and crispy, almost like fry chips. The decor is a 50's style play ground with lots of radical informational facts about the eatery and more. Customer service was beyond great. It might be a little too clean and nice. I would suggest some 50's warmth rather than glam.

If you are tired of the same old burger experience give Freddy's a try! The steak burgers are thin and have crispy edges. If I'm honest I much prefer Freddy's to the Five Guys down the street. The fries are very thin but have a wonderful flavor and seasoning that when paired with the fry sauce, are hard to beat! Freddy's has other items on the menu such as hot dogs, "patty melts" and frozen custard, none of which I have tried. If you plan on visiting Freddy's around lunch or dinner time be advised that they are often quite crowded and the lines can get pretty long.

I have been here 3 times now. I have had a burger, the chicken sandwich, and a hot dog. All of these were great! But the main star of the show....Freddy's fries with their signature fry sauce! I can not get enough of this stuff! If you have not yet you need to try the fry sauce! Staff also extremely kind and professional.

Awesome burgers, party's are thin so get the double. For those concerned with the drive thru wait, it's because they don't cook your burger until you order it, read the menu. That's what makes these fresh, greasy and frigging delicious. If often find myself getting 2 doubles, add bacon, why not. Delicious and way better than"fast food" Also, calories........

We frequent Freddies as a couple and always take our grandchildren. We love all of the food options. The Steakburgers are THE BEST! My husband is a huge hotdog fan and says they are 2nd to none at Freddy's. The service is outstanding. They are very effecient at the ordering counter as well as friendly and accomodating. Also quite patient when the children can't make up their minds. Freddy's is also EXTREMELY clean. They constantly have someone attending to the trash can area where trays are stacked. They offer to clear your tray once you unload after you are seated as well as come to you and offer clean up once you have finished eating. Hands down Freddy's is a great option and only option for us for burgers and dogs. Enjoy!

First thing's first: if you are expecting a standard burger patty from a place that sells steak burgers, you are going to be sadly disappointed. Now if you're looking for a steakburger this place isn't Half bad. Fridays is on par with a place like steak and shake if you're familiar with that franchise. The burger tasted good and the fries were thin little shoestring fries. Freddie's secret sauce or whatever they calling is quite lackluster. I was barely able to detect the taste. The service was fast, which is exactly what I look for when stopping for lunch. I gave it four stars because the food was tasty but it was nothing spectacular, but then I couldn't really find anything bad about the place either.

I love the burgers and can't get wnough of thwir shoestring fries! There's someone constantly cleaning tables and the service is always great. The manager was attentive and going around making sure everyone was doing well. I cant stand going to a place that is dirty becauae it shows low standards... this is clearly well managed. Keep up the great work!

I've been here twice, and both times I've ordered a burger, fries, and ice cream. The burger is pretty good. I'd say it's on par with 5 Guys or In and Out. They even have a special "Freddies Sauce" which is similar to the sauce you get at In and Out. The fries are just ok. Definitely not as good as the fries at 5 Guys. The ice cream, however, is very good. I chose a "concrete", which is similiar to a DQ Blizzard, both times I visited this restaurant. IMO they are actually better than what DQ offers.

I met them in the middle...3-star for food and 5-star for customer service. I will admit I ignored this place for a while because I already had a few favorite spots around town and I did not think I needed to try them out. I was in Chicago this past spring and loved their style of hot dog. While back in Pennsylvania I got a hankerin' for one of those delicious style dogs, and found out that Freddy's makes Chicago style hot dogs. I was so happy!!!! Anyway, finally gave them a try and I have already been back a few more times. The food is good, including their nice array of dessert items, but the hot dog is not exactly on point. The quality of the dog is great BUT they don't put it on a poppyseed style bun :( Not sure if that is a must but I certainly prefer it. French fries are tasty for a salt fix but they are very skinny fries so someone who likes more 'thick/homestyle' fries many not like them. Either way the customer service is on point, and you can order your dessert and put it on hold (they keep it in a fridge all made up). I will be back!

If you don't want a burger this is NOT the place to go. No salads. A veggie burger and a grilled chicken sandwich are your only two options. I went for the chicken and hated it. No taste, rubbery texture, and some tough chewing at times, it came on a burger roll with iceberg lettuce and 2 non Tomatoe tasting Tomatoe. At least they have free wifi. The place is nice, reminiscent of an old burger and fountain shop. Well lit with an inviting appearance. To their credit, a manager did stop by without any prompting by me to ask about the meal and offered to get me something else.

I'm so glad this place opened in the Philly region. I've had this style of super flat burger with even thinner edges in the Midwest, but never around here before. I've yet to have one that didn't come out perfect in maybe 8-10 trips to Freddy's. I also love the Vienna Beef hot dogs on nicely toasted New England style buns, and the shoe string fries. The custard isn't quite up there with the best I've had, but it's still real frozen custard; not soft serve sold as custard.

One of the best burger spots in the area. Burgers are thin but delicious. Fries are also thin but have great flavor and are always hot! You most try their homemade fry sauce, its so good I put it on the burger too. Haven't had a chance to try the ice cream as I always end up fulling up on the fries.

  • Jim H.

I've now had their custard (in the form of a vanilla milkshake) so I'll add that star. It was better than most shakes I've had in recent memory and the absolute selling point is that they give you a double wide straw. I've never seen anything like it but it's brilliant and any place that has shakes should utilize them. I definitely wouldn't have a stroke trying to suck a golf ball through a garden hose here. I ordered the cheese fries as well. I've mentioned before that their fries are unlike any other place. Real small and thin. It actually worked perfectly for pairing with cheese although a fork was necessary. They use wiz , which I normally don't like but I think it's perfect for fries. My only issue was that they drowned the fries in wiz. I thought it was too much but I don't take points off because one mans too much could be another mans perfection. Overall it was a nice little snack. Both really hit the spot.

I think their food is excellent, the steak burgers are a pleasant change from your normal everyday burger or Wawa hoagie. We were given several tee shirts for our kids which gets them a free sundae if they wear them when we come here. The owner is very nice, I have met him on numerous occasions. We have a large family, 11 kids and number 12 is on her way any day now and there is plenty of room to accommodate all of us. I like the fact that they do not serve alcohol. Family atmosphere. Today I totally ordered to much. My eyes were definitely twice as big as my stomach. To make matters worse, I splurged on a sundae which I can't even finish. I ate most of my fries...I love the small fries and their dipping sauce, which I was told is thousand island dressing. My double bacon burger was great, just too much for me. To top it all off the offer 15% off for veterans every Monday. Thanks guys keep it up.

I'll now say that maybe I've been harsh on this place. Two take out orders resulted in two stars for me. The take out orders just didn't work for me. But I've now learned something. It's much better here if you eat in. Eating the burgers here when it comes straight off the grill are definitely much better than driving them home. Plus the fries are fresher, though I still believe the thin fries get cold faster. But I've come around. And kudos to the nice gentleman in the dining room staff who helped me when I had my one year old son with me. I needed help and he went above and beyond to help me. Give him a raise. The food is still about three stars, but they get the 4th star on service and atmosphere from me. Oh, and my son loved the grilled cheese. So the future Yelper is happy.

Its ok! I tend to hit this place up every time I feel like a glutton. Comfort at its most convenient. Atmosphere: Typical burger joint with a drive-thru. Outdoor seating. Quality: No issues, nothing special. Well done seasoned thin patties. Yum. Service: Friendly! Some days service is fast and others you can tell they are in the weeds ; be patient and the food will get to you issue free. Value: Slightly pricy for what you get, but only slightly. My experience: On many occasions I have downed a dog or burger with all my desired fixins' including the shoestrings with fry sauce.

My favorite burger place in the area. I think I like it so much because these burgers taste like Steak 'n Shake, a southern chain I love and always crave. Fries are thin and very good. Didn't get to try the malts.

Freddy's has become a favorite for Saturday lunches for myself and the kids. The burgers are thin and cooked perfectly. The Freddy sauce is the boss and it goes great on the tasty thin fries that come with every meal. California steakburger is the way to go in my opinion, my son typically gets the old fashioned hotdog which is also very tasty. Great food and I never feel 'greased out' after eating. I recommend this place to anyone who likes a good burger!

The food is good but the wait at the drive thru is not. I would understand if it was once or twice but every time I've come to this restaurant, I'm waiting 7+ minutes in the drive thru. I have made this place my last resort fast food establishment.

BEST BURGERS EVER !!! Fries are delicious too. If you haven't tried it, give it one shot. You will not regret it !

So the question is what is a " steak burger " I asked? Sir Freddy says it's a lean 2.6oz of premium American beef, that's what the sign says at least. Myself I call it delicious, I'm a carnivorous freak and the smell of a great burger being grilled puts me over the edge. Five guys watch out, there might be, (key word here is might) a new burger joint in town and it has taken over the old Arby's location. Freddy's also has a drive thru where you can place your order without worrying about the mayhem of people inside seeing they are always packed I ordered a double bacon and cheese combo, with a minni turtle sundae for my dessert. A few gripes I have are the fries, they are thin like shoe string which I'm not a fan of. I have big hands , big hands with these skinny fries is not a good mix. They also have a french fry dipping sauce makes it even better, so it does somewhat balance out. The burger is good, tasty with the cheese melted into the paddy with the other condiments included but they are thin. I should have ordered their triple, or a second burger , because after that first one I knew I could go for another one. The turtle sundae was good, nice sized pecans in it with a hot fudge and caramel mixed in this small cup of goodness. I am a firm believer if you sell burgers you should sell some kind of milkshake to go, these guys do both. Pros and Cons... Five guys vs Freddy's Five Guys- Bigger burger, bigger fresher fries, and hot dogs are the pros. No milkshakes/ ice cream, drive thru, combination platters, dipping sauce are the cons Freddy's- Milk shakes, dipping sauce, drive thru, combination platters, hot dogs Thin burgers and fries, parking are the cons. In all for the extra dollar or two I'd go to five guys, every once in a while I'd hit up Freddy's. I can tell you in my opinion they are better than Zac's atleast

Definitely a better value for your money versus other burger joints in the area. However the people of marple use this place far way to frequent as a substitute for chucky cheese. Moms and dads come here, move tables around and stack all the kids up at one huge table (conveniently right by the soda fountain) and then abandon them while all the adults sit at a booth and complain about their lives and who does what on Facebook. Meanwhile the kids are screaming, acting out and chasing each other around the table so it makes getting a drink and utensils more like going through an obstacle course. With a tray of food in your hand and freshly poured drink, THIS IS NOT FUN. Although none of the employees wanted to put the kids in check or gain the attention needed of a parent to do so they were nice enough to help clear the tables upon exit. I will definitely think twice or maybe drive through the parking lot to make sure this place isn't a mess like it was before I come back again.

I'd like to personally thank the employee who waited on us today. You see,we ordered burgers, fries, onion rings and sodas. Then went back and ordered another burger. I'm sure the staff was thinking, "Wow, I hope their heart attacks happen somewhere else." But they didn't bat an eye. Waited on me like it was perfectly ok to scarf down the enormous amount of food from the first go round and then ask for more. It was quite decent when they call out the order to be picked up as if it was our first, not second. Thanks for not shaming us. The burgers beat out every other place I've been to. AMAZING. Just go! It took us an hour to drive here. I'd drive 3 to eat here again.

I found this place thanks to yelp after my first two adventure same up closed. The burger was great! Not a thick patty as the name steak burger would indicate, but pretty tasty. The best part was the self serve "special" sauce. Would absolutely go back

I am definitely not a burger snob. I have paid a fortune for many an expense account burger at Morton's or Ruth's Chris steakhouses and enjoyed them. But I've also had many a burger at Five Guy's or Wendy's and loved them. So I rolled in here tonight to check out the new guys in town. The place was slammin. I just barely got a parking place and when it was time to grab a seat I think I snagged the last one available. One look at this operation and you have no choice but to compare it to Five Guy's. They are right down the street in Lawrence Park plaza. You could practically throw a rock at them. It's the same deal. You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. There is a list of toppings you can choose for your burger. They also have dogs. You get a cup and pour your own fountain soda. I'll give you a hint. The manager at Five Guy's is not losing one minute of sleep over this new place. Like me, a bunch of folks will try it once and then go back to Five Guy's. So what are the differences? I ordered the double burger with cheese combo etc. for $7.XX. It came with the requisite fries and a drink. At Five Guy's I'd order the same thing with those wonderful Cajun fries and pay a couple of bucks more. So I give them points for being cheaper. My order was ready in a flash. Maybe three minutes. The guy that handed it to me actually apologized for the wait. My table was spotless. The French fries are shoestring style and were hot and fresh. Having said that, they are frozen, poured from a bag and can't compare to the fresh cut Five Guy's beauties. The portion is fine but again can't compare to the mountain you get down the street. Of course nobody can compare to that. My burger was hot and fresh and served on a toasted bun. The patties are very thin. I mean really thin! But of course I'm paying less. The toppings list is quite a bit shorter than Five Guy's. I miss my mushrooms. But once again I'm paying less. While I was eating a manager of some sort stopped by to check on me. That was nice. I have to say my meal was OK. That's why I'm giving them the Yelp, A OK three star rating. But would I go back? No. Not with Five Guy's just down the street. I'd rather pay a little more and get a much better meal.

Wow. One of my Favorite burger joint in Philly area. I've gone a total of four times (granted it's 30 minutes away) and not a single time have I been let down. Everything's good, fries, burgers, custard, etc. I would strongly recommend Freddy's burgers. It's classic

OMG the fries are awesome ask for the fry sauce (its kinda like a mayo-ketchup blend). The burger was thin but tasty. I didn't get milkshake it was too cold out but when weather warms up definitely getting one.

Once upon a time there was a place at this location called Arby's. I loved Arby's, it was a staple in my weekend grubbing! Then one day my beloved Arby's closed and was replaced with a placed called Freddy's. I didn't think Broomall needed another burger joint with Five Guys and Wendy's in such close proximity. But I, like most people in the area had one simple question. What the hell is a steak burger? This is where our story gets worse. Though still mourning the loss of my Arby's, I needed to see what this place was about. I went to the drive through and ordered a burger....oh wait, I mean steak burger, and fries. There is one word to describe it all....THIN! The burgers were thin and the edges were crispy. It was weird! I really don't want crispy beef in a burger. Maybe the crispy thing is what makes it a "steak" burger, but either way...Weird! The fries were thin! I don't mind thin fries, but these things were a millimeter shy of being potato stix! I did however like the Freddy's sauce, but that doesn't make up for this place. The only thing keeping this place from getting one star is that their ice cream, I mean Custard, is pretty good. I tried my wife's. But you know what, Broomall already has a Dairy Queen and a Rita's. So to me there's no point to this place. How about we bring back the Arby's and give my story a silver lining! Bottom line here.....if you want a burger go to five guys and a get a real burger!

I recommend this place to anyone who likes a good burger!

My favorite burger place in the area. I think I like it so much because these burgers taste like Steak 'n Shake, a southern chain I love and always crave. Fries are thin and very good. Didn't get to try the malts.

The food is good but the wait at the drive thru is not. I would understand if it was once or twice but every time I've come to this restaurant, I'm waiting 7+ minutes in the drive thru. I have made this place my last resort fast food establishment.
