We frequent Brady's Restaurant a great deal, as we are local to the restaurant. It's a nice little drive up in the hills of the Laurel Highlands. Brady's is situated along the side of a road, with a duck pond adjacent. My son loves to feed the ducks after we are finished eating...and they even have a basket of bread that you can take to feed the ducks. We have eaten here for every meal, and they don't disappoint. Their breakfasts are largely portioned, and home cooked meals. For lunch, the wraps are really good. When we eat there for dinner, I usually end up getting the Forest Mushroom Chicken, or the Mountain Mushroom Sirloin....they are both very good!

Have to say, this was just ok. Overcooked scrambled eggs, way too much pulp in the juice, frozen hash browns. Bacon was plentiful, though, and was pretty good. Breakfast buffet seemed popular though I didn't think it looked all that good and it was a little pricey at $10 as their selection wasn't great. Service was good, though and it had a nice view.

After reading these reviews, I had to say something. I have stopped here in my travels for years. Hands down the BEST coconut cream pie you will ever eat. I buy a whole pie to bring home. As far as the food, it's ok. Good portioned breakfasts and lunch. I have never eaten dinner here.

Greasy greasy greasy diner. Well known in this area and quite popular for their $8 breakfast buffet. Lots of kitschy decor, including antler chandeliers! Great for groups and the waitresses are pleasant and friendly. THE BEST FRIED ZUCCHINI EVAAAAAAAAR!!

En route back from a road trip from a touristy place Brady's was a pleasant surprise and a fantastic deviation from the touristy food we ate (pizza and fries). The menu is large enough to please all kinds of palates of all ages. Their bread rolls come out warm and based off the smell, good enough for me to get off my gluten free diet. I had a chicken cranberry salad which was not only delicious (chicken was so tender), but it was also HUGE. Steak and mushrooms was good too. When looking at all the entrees at our table and others, it seems as though all the portions are large enough for a hearty eater or for two people to split. The decor is dated but that's what makes it so down home comfortable! They are also very patient and good with kids so it's extremely family friendly. On our way out, multiple waitresses let us know there were old bread rolls to feed the ducks out back. That was the highlight for the kids and it helped distract them from a "no dessert" meal since we had so much junk food days before. (We did not look at the desserts so we have no opinion on the desserts at Brady's) I wish I lived closer because I would take my family often as I believe it is a guaranteed hearty and good meal!

This breakfast was highly underwhelming. All the locals in the town were there but that didn't mean anything. My sausage had no flavor, my "home fries" were slices of cold unflavored potatoes and the cinnamon French toast had an unexplainable horrible flavor (think week old dish rag) along with also being cold. My boyfriend had the country fried steak and the gravy had a grits appearance and was very bland! The coffee was very watery. Don't go!

Went to Brady's on a Sunday around 11am. We were seated right away by a very timid girl. The view from the table was pretty, looking out towards a lake with ducks. The service was nice, attentive, and prompt. We both had coffee, which I personally didn't care for. My boyfriend had eggs, bacon, toast, etc. and I had the chicken mushroom entree with a baked potato- don't judge. My boyfriend said that the bacon was a little soggy but overall everything was fine. My chicken was perfectly grilled and seasoned well, as was the potato. It was a nice meal to just be able to relax, take a deep breath, eat and not be constantly interrupted. We really enjoyed the service and are always fans of supporting a local business. Brady's has a menu to please everyone with a better-than-diner atmosphere.

I was hoping for a real home style experience that included friendly service when I stopped here. Unfortunately, this did not happen. While the ducks outside the window of my table ran around a beautiful pond, the wait staff did not follow lead. It took a very long time to have our order taken, longer to get our first drink, and then even longer to get our meals. Which, by the way, consisted of eggs and hash browns. There is a breakfast buffet here and that could be the main draw for diners who want to eat quickly and thus serve themselves. However, if you want to order from the menu, be ready to buckle down and enjoy the view of the ducks outside the window because you'll be watching them for quite some time.

I love this place! I can't get enough of their buffalo chicken salad with their awesome celery seed dressing. And yes, as many reviewers have stated it is just iceberg lettuce. If you want fancy field greens or spinach then you need to go back to the city or pick another restaurant because this is the country and the folks that eat here don't eat that stuff. Many of the regulars would not know what spinach or field greens were so that is who they are catering to. This is a very very small town but it also gets a lot of through traffic due to the skiing and the summer camping. The menu here is large so you are going to get a lot of reheated frozen food unless you pick something from the daily specials. Also, let's address the coffee. The town folks like their coffee weak so that is what you are going to get! This is my home town so I know a lot of these folk around here. So my advise would be, if you don't like weak coffee then pick something else. As far as not having diet pop, they don't carry what they don't sell. Again, they cater to locals, that is who keeps them in business. Portions here are HUGE for the price and I always leave with leftovers. 5 of us ate their last night, getting 2 buffalo chicken salads, eggs & bacon and 2 turkey dinners. I didn't notice any lumpy gravies and everyone that ordered turkey was happy as were the rest of us. The inside of the location is also very rustic with wood walls, posters, signs, deer antlers and a fireplace. This is also very much hunting country so a deer head mounted on the wall is pretty normal and many restaurants in town have the same thing. The restaurant also mentions that it has a water view. It does from the seats facing the rear of the restaurant. There are 2 ponds side by side and lots and lots of ducks. The seats that are in the front of the restaurant don't have a water view or the entire place would be on an island. There is a large back room which they only open on the weekends or when they are busy. You can also book a party in this room. I guess the reviewer that stated the room with the pond view was closed was talking about this room. The room was added years ago to deal with overflow and parties. The room is never open unless they are busy or there is a party. The waitresses here are young, usually still in high school or in college. Some have more experience than others and are more outgoing. For some, this is their 1st job so they are shy and timid as 1 reviewer mentioned. Remember your 1st job when you were 16 or 18, you probably were shy and timid too. The owner is there to manage his staff and work, not chat. If he has a moment he will stop by and chat with family members or people he knows but it is usually only for a few moments. He wouldn't stop and talk to someone he doesn't know, he's just not a chatty person. So, in a nutshell. Portions are HUGE and the menu is extensive which means reheated foods unless you get a daily special or maybe breakfast items. Cabin feel on the inside and only a few seats are pond view. Wait staff is friendly and not down your throat. The ducks and fish are always waiting for bread so bring a loaf or two with you.

This is a wonderful place to eat! Ate breakfast lunch and dinner here during our stay in donegal,pa. Rustic setting, duck pond out back. Food was fantastic! Homemade cooking and all cooked perfectly! I wish they were closer to where I live. I would drive the 50 some miles just to eat here. Wait staff pleasant, on the ball and professional. Miss their food already!

I took a year off from Yelp, but my visit to Brady's forced me to return. Before heading off on a trip to Wooster, Ohio, I checked Yelp in search of a worthy restaurant to stop at for lunch, not wanting to rely on whatever fast-food monstrosity happened to be visible from the highway. About 2 1/2 hours out (which based on our planned departure, would be just the right time for lunch), in a little town called Acme, I found a spot called Brady's Restaurant, which at first seemed as if it would not be a place anyone would want to eat. There were lots of one- and two-star reviews for Brady's on Yelp, complaining about the "terrible service," turkey that "always tastes gamey," and "the absolute most disgusting meatloaf ever" ... but as I read on, I came across a wonderful review here by Greg B., which I won't cut and paste -- jut go read it! Anyway, it had me saying, I don't care what all those other reviewers say--I'm in! So at noon on a weekday, we stopped at Brady's, where I ordered a hot roast beef sandwich and my wife ordered the turkey. (She was kind of hoping it would be gamey.) When asked by our server if I wanted gravy on the fries, I said, sure! And what can I say? It turned out to be an excellent sandwich, though one which I needed to eat with a knife and fork because of the gravy. Good roast beef on good bread, served with good french fries ... and good gravy! It was just the sort of comfort food that was needed on a long road trip. Plus our server was energetic and attentive, taking great care of us. And my wife's turkey _wasn't_ gamey! Which proves once again that reading Yelp isn't as important as figuring out which reviews are worth paying attention to and which can be ignored. If I ever pass through Acme again, I'll certainly make another stop at Brady's. And I urge you to, too!

Stopped here on the way home from a trip to meet a friend for lunch. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is charming and clean. We had a variety of meals. Eggplant parmesan seemed to be pretty standard restaurant fare. The Pittsburgh salad with the french fries and sliced steak was a hit. I had the tenderloin tips. The steak itself was great, as were the mashed potatoes, but the peppers and onions left a little bit to be desired. Everything was good and affordable, and I definitely recommend the homemade celery seed dressing. So good!

Stopped today on my way through the area, Had the mountain burger and fries and a side salad, salad was just as mentioned before iceberg lettuce 2 slices of cuke, 2 cherry tomatoes and a little bit of purple cabbage and red onion and carrot slivers. the ranch dressing was very good. The burger was overcooked for my taste but still moist, I didn't specify how I wanted it cooked so it was my fault, fries looked like fresh cut. I would go back if I am that way and looking for a meal the server was very good and friendly.

My husband and I have eaten at Bradys several times. The food is ok. The ducks are neat but once the seating area where you can actually see them was closed off. Really? The service is average and.......Mike, the owner is the unfriendliest , if that's a word, man I ever met. He seems to walk around and say hello to some folks, regulars, I presume. When my husband finally made eye contact with him as he was walking past our table and we attempted to ask him a question about salad bar.... he gave us a quick nod and moved on. Seriously?? We had tried to be nice to him when paying our check at a previous visit. Nothing. We are done. Lots of places nearby. I guess if your not a local you are not welcome here. Don't go.

While the duck pond was pretty cool, and the decor was interesting (lots of vintage signs and wheel chandeliers), the food was only mediocre. We went for dinner, and three people in my party ordered salads. Despite the appealing descriptions, everyone who got a salad found it to be disappointing. Part of the reason for that is that they all contained tons of iceberg lettuce, and a little bit of anything else. I ordered the southwestern panini, which didn't taste half bad. I am, however, disappointed that the "paninis" in this area seem to just be regular old sliced white bread fried like grilled cheese. I would have to say that feeding the ducks was my favorite part of the experience, so take what you will from that. We probably won't be going back again (or at least not to eat salad!)

I was visiting for a leisurely weekend from the DC metro area, and was looking for a good local joint - I aim to find things I can't get at home, that let me experience the area I'm visiting. I am normally willing to splurge on food, but this time I was looking to be a bit frugal, and this place delivered. Food - great bang for the buck. I picked up a Northwoods sirloin for dinner - classic steak flavor and cooked to my expectations. I can't complain about the salad that came with it, either. Perfect size, and a good selection of veggies in there. The rolls looked like they were house-baked (can't say for sure, just judging by their muffin shape), and were pretty tasty. Only odd thing was the water - it had a little bit of a fried flavor to it. Not sure what happened there. Atmosphere - just what I was looking for. Fireplace, old farm equipment, deer antlers, and chairs/tables that reminded me of my dad's old family restaurant. There's also a cute pond outside - even though it was cold and snowy, we still managed to stop by and feed the ducks. Also, lots of dining room space. There was a whole separate room they hadn't opened up that they probably reserve for busier nights or special events. Lastly, when we got the bill, I was impressed. I guess I'm used to the higher cost of living in the DC 'burbs, eh?

This restaurant isn't amazing, but is certainly better than one star. They serve fine sandwiches and generic restaurant food. I have a pretty tasty chicken parm sandwich. There aren't a lot of dining options in this part of Pennsylvania, and it serves people that want something a step up from diner food and a step (fine probably a leap) down from something fancy like Out of the Fire. I should also add that the restaurant cleared out by 8:30- probably not good if you want to eat late.

Local to this place, last time I was there they told us they stopped carrying diet soda (except diet Mt. Dew), so we quit going. What sit down restaurant doesn't have either Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi? Not one I want to go to, I guess. It should go without saying if we stopped going to this place because they don't have our preferred choice of beverage, the food was nothing really special. They say lake view dining, but it's a pond and only like 4 of the 40ish tables face it. Inside has a cabin feel. The animal heads and antler chandeliers aren't really my thing, but I do like the fireplace and all the wood. I don't really care for their gravies - which are all goopy and thick. Every time I tried a hot sandwich or dinners, it was disappointing. Their turkey always tastes gamey or "wild"-- which some people I guess might appreciate. I don't. I always found their other meats (roast beef/hamburger) overcooked and dry. They have a sandwich that's a play on chicken cordon bleu, that was my typical go to entree. Chicken tends to be the only meat that comes out cooked properly. They also have very good fresh veggies on their salad bar (which is the brunch buffet on Sundays) and in their dinner salads. Their celery seed dressing is very good - so for anyone stopping in, I'd recommend getting a salad to try that dressing. I feel bad saying this because Brady's is Laurel Highlands mountain institution, there is a restaurant right across the street at the golf course that is much better quality.

I dont normally leave terrible reviews, but I can honestly say that I had the absolute most disgusting meatloaf ever here! It had the look, taste (presumably), and smell of canned dog food. I even had my friend taste it to see if my taste buds were maybe messed up or something. She concurred! It was really bad. The waitress never asked how are food was and when she took our plates I told her it was bad. She never acknowledged the statement. I will definitely never spend my money there again.

Sweet potato flapjacks.... if it weren't for these, I would have to rate this place is a 2. Stopped in to get some brunch before departing back to Boston. It was standard diner food and atmosphere. It looked like they had a brunch buffet deal going for Sunday, but since I fear buffets I avoided this set up. Otherwise the service was pleasant and prompt, and I left here with a new inspiration to recreate sweet potato flapjacks.

We were staying at a bland Day's Inn down the road and wanted a breakfast spot with a little local color. The hotel recommended Brady's and it was just what we were looking for. Funky duck hunting decor, old school look to the place, friendly waitresses and lots of local folks having big breakfasts and saying hi to their friends. We had the eggs, hash browns, toast and it was all fine. Nothing amazing, but reasonably priced and just what we were looking for. Can't vouch for the rest of the day's menus, but it was great for an all-American breakfast.

This place had terrible service. My fries came out cold and I asked for some fresh ones. They just put the old ones back in the frier so they came out overdone and my grilled cheese wasn't even cooked. Save your money or go somewhere else.

A classic family owned restaurant. I've been here many times over the years and I know exactly what to expect. The decor is western PA to a tee complete with deer heads and fire places. They have a decent menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is always solid. The food is good, not fine dining, but never disappointing. I prefer them for breakfast or lunch as opposed to dinner. I would recommend dessert if you have room for it, as the pies are pretty good. Prices are very reasonable. You also have the added bonus of taking an old loaf of bread with you and feeding the ducks at the ponds after dining especially if you have kids. Free wifi while drinking coffee in the morning is a new touch.

Good food at decent prices. If your some snooty tourist who is used to eating hormone injected slop that's full of who know's what, then don't come here. The meet is locally raised and some of the fish is from right up the road. The people who own this place are decent hardworking people who give allot to local charities. The original owner was a hard working business women who employed 100's of people in the area and never turned someone down in need. My family fell on hard times many years ago and Mrs. Brady was always willing to help us out and even brought us christmas gifts one winter when my wife passed away. The night she delivered the gifts, my children and I watched her through the candlighted window as she walked over 30 yards in her work dress through a snow drift to bring my kids a christmas ham and I'll be damned if I will stand for some jerk with a smartphone disparage her and the business she created. This place serves good food at decent prices. IF you want something fancy, then go up the highway . The Brady's don't need your cash. Excuse me, you people with your bad reviews probably pay with credit cards because you spend your paycheck before it came in.

After visiting Fallingwater, we were hungry and decided to eat before we got back on the highway. This is a dinner atmosphere offering over cooked mushy food. They had many elderly dinners. The chicken sandwich had a piece of chicken that was tiny and the open faced turkey sandwich was terrible.
