Passing through town on the way home from a hike in the nearby state park, Abby's appeared on my list, and the reviews drew us in. What a great pizza. My brother (from Florida) said this was his new favorite Oregon restaurant after finishing a garlic chicken pizza. The rest of us had the Greek vegetarian, and it was piled high with toppings. They must use two bulbs of garlic on every large pizza. Feta was drizzled generously over layers of pepper, mozzarella, tomato sauce, and copious amounts of artichoke heart. If you find yourself in the area, check it out.

Loads of toppings on a fairly thin but good crust. This is the best pizza in town. I love that you can get lingiuca as a topping. Makes for a good beer and pizza night. They have several draft options.

Even though I have lived in Woodburn for close to three years now, I have never been to Abby's Legendary Pizza. I guess the exterior appearance of the restaurant is discouraging and far from welcoming. Based on the good Yelp reviews I decided to give it a chance. This rated review will be based on food, service, and atmosphere. FOOD - If I rated it based on the garlic cheese breadsticks, it would be five stars with flying colors. Okay, the garlic cheese breadsticks are awesome here. Clearly the bread are made fresh; I wouldn't be surprised if they baked their own bread here. And of course the cheese is fresh and full of flavor. I ordered a half spiced pepperoni and half BBQ chicken pizza. The pizza was far from "legendary" status; I would give it a 4/5... maybe 7/10. It was not completely memorable. SERVICE - The customer service was so-so. The man at the counter did not have much of a personality. No welcoming greeting as we approached the counter and no free smiles. Maybe he was having a bad day? Later on, he was more open to conversation with customers he recognized. Guess we're not BFF yet? ATMOSPHERE - The restaurant was fairly empty because he got there around 5pm, before the dinnertime rush. By the time we nearly finished the meal, the place was at about 60% capacity. There was a couple of arcades there and candy/toy dispensers. The environment reminded of King Arthur or medieval times, which I'm assuming was their intended look. Overall it was a good dinner, far from LEGENDARY, and I do plan to return again, even if it's just for those garlic cheese breadsticks!

Love this location, friendly staff, pizza is always delicious and consistent! Few arcades for the kids and cold beer on tap for the adults :)

This is the pizza of my childhood. Abby's, Round Table, and Pizza Caboose. That is what we ate growing up (Also some Sunshine pizza). I went here with some friends a couple weeks ago and it brought back memories. The smells, the sounds, everything about it was great. Even the weird old couple giving us dirty looks. The pizza is standard but pretty tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. I do wish they delivered to my house which is in the middle of nowhere and nobody delivers to. Not their fault, it is mine.

Best pizza in town. I'd recommend the Abby's special. Friendly staff And quick service. Never disappointed when I eat here. My only complaint is that they don't deliver.

I like Abby's but I'm going to stay away from this one. We went to get some pizza and the building look really bad. They don't offer extras like chicken wings, spuds, cheesy bread or anything else. The pizza was very greasy and we all felt sick after eating. I gave it one more try and the same thing happened. I'm not going to pay their high price for poorly made pizza.

This is really good pizza. Made to order I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of toppings one gets on their order. Not the cheapest pizza but very reasonably priced and it will satisfy most stomachs.

The pizza I grew up on. Comes out hot, PILED with toppings, on an amazing and fantastic crust. Seriously GREAT. Yes, this is a chain, but this one in particular is especially fantastically awesome! If you want pizza in Woodburn, come here. Like everyone else.

Best pizza in Oregon. Yes, I said the best! If you want good pizza in Oregon find yourself an Abby's!

The pizza is good but has a major flaw, toppings fall off the pizza because they don't put any cheese on top. Be specific to ask for the cheese on top,,,,really . We ordered a 14 giant pizza order and asked to have cheese on top,,,,they didn't do it and the people we fed were all complaining the toppings fell off onto the plate. If you order the way I recommend you won't be disappointed. Otherwise go to pizza Hut, they're just down the road. I travel a lot and get pizza in every city I go to, I know pizza. Abby's if you read this be aware your pizza could be even better, if not at least get my order right next time.

Stopped in Woodburn for an overnight stay on our way to Seattle from California. It was 6PM on a Sunday night so we were tired and needed some good food. Plus, we had our two littles in tow so we needed a place that would serve good food, fast. But from the looks of things, Woodburn is pretty thin for great eating places for families. Found Abbys through Yelp and was pleasantly surprised by what we got. Abbys has the look and feel of an old eighties pizza parlor but it was clean and I was surprised by how busy it was for a Sunday. Busy is usually a good sign. We ordered a large pizza and two servings from the salad bar. I was pretty impressed with the salad. There were the standard salad bar toppings available but the lettuce was super fresh and green, which is a huge bonus where salad bars are concerned. There was also some spinach thrown in. Also, I saw the manager come over a few times and straighten and tidy the salad bar. It was nice to see it wasn't just an afterthought. The pizza arrived about ten minutes after we ordered it and was hot and covered with toppings. I am a huge fan of pizza in general and this pizza delivered (haha!). Seriously though, this pizza is not artisan or gourmet but in many ways that's what made it great. The food was fresh and the service was quick. It was everything we could have wanted or needed on a long trip. Would definitely go here again!

Delish!!!!!!! My mom travels to Oregon frequently and always stops at an Abbys. I've been hearing great things about the pizzeria chain for years and was excited to finally go. It totally lived up to my expectation. The salad bar...yum! Thick chunky blue cheese dressing. Small selection of toppings but I couldn't have asked for more. Super fresh, super cheap, super good. We ordered the Sicilian, half meatless. I'm pretty particular and was happy to find no stray meat pieces on my side. The pizza was amazing. Old school pizzeria style. No greasy over the top round table or tummy hurting pizza hut. I have not had this great of pizza since my childhood. The place was packed for Thursday night, casual, lots of families, super clean, very friendly. The wine was my only "eh" moment, but honestly for $2.25 a glass, I'm not complaining. Thank you Abbeys for making my week stay in Oregon not so crappy. I WILL be back!

Lots of toppings, good service, and you can watch em make your pizza. A little pricey, but worth it for the most part.

Pizza was soooooo good, the guy whom I assume was manager maybe owner? Was super rude, almost made me cancel whole order, glad I did not. I thought it odd the sizes though he said med, large and family, but it was clearly small med, large in reality, that irritated me , it's like how stupid do you think people are? Anyways a bit pricey but again the pizza was excellent

The pizza was good. Very heavy on the toppings, and so, though their menu states the giant size can feed 4-6, expect it to feed at least 6. It is filling. I would say they might think about providing serving spatulas since the pizzas are so full of stuff and difficult to serve, causing mass spillage and excessive use of napkins. My big beef with them: salad. You can pay almost $5 for a small salad bar (small salad plate) or over $6 for a large salad bar (regular dinner plate I would guess), and the menu states you can only visit the salad bar once. That's a lot of money for a salad bar--especially one that only contains yucky iceberg lettuce mix and mostly canned fruits and vegetables. Rip off.

Abby's Legendary Pizza is very aptly named. Abby's is indeed legendary in the state of Oregon. Many Oregonians can remember hanging around Abby's Pizza in their school days. Abby's Legendary Pizza has numerous locations but my review is for the Woodburn property. The staff at the Woodburn Abby's is fantastic. If you can recall the pizza parlors of the 60's and 70's then you have a good idea of what Abbey's looks like. Long tables and a juke box in the corner. The only thing missing is the guy in the straw hat playing the banjo. Remember the old Shakey's pizza parlors? The pizzas. They're a throwback to the 60's and 70's also. Abby's serves thin crust pizzas that are piled mountain high with toppings. Be sure to hold your pizza crust upright or else you might end up with a lap full of pizza toppings. One nice thing about Abby's Legendary Pizza is that the staff is very willing to customize your pizza to your likings. If you have a special request then they are more than willing to oblige you. As much as I love Abby's I can't give it four or five stars. There are much better pizza pies around for much less money. However, if you would like to go back in time to when pizza making was simple then Abby's Legendary Pizza should fill your tummy nicely.

As a pizza purist, it feels strange to write a glowing review for a chain. But I love this freakin' pizza. I wish I could tell you all what it is, but my palate is not refined enough. I think it is closer in taste to the kind of pizza I grew up with. I think it is the sauce maybe - it manages to be both very spicy while still being sweet, and it is liberally applied. But maybe that is not it? The pepperoni feels cheap and greasy - yet it's so good. The cheese tastes very good, and has the right texture - thick and chewy and stretchy. But I could see flecks of yellow cheese in with the mozarella, which is just all wrong. But everybody does that out here, I can't throw stones at them for that, especially since I couldn't taste it. Who knows? But now that I have discovered this place, it will be my go-to pizza joint.

i'm so impressed with this hole-in-the-wall. sure, the mother of all cliches, but the place holds up to this status. you walk into a large room with quite a lot of seating. i'm not sure how busy it gets in the small town of woodburn, but if i've attained an experience as religious as it was with their pizza, then i can see a line out the door. simply put, their pizzas are made well, the ingredients are modest but plentiful, and the ambiance reminds you of the old pizzerias of yesteryear. are there better places? sure. head over to new york, chicago, or even san fran for a state of pizza nirvana. but for a small place nestled in the vast expanse of farmland, this place is absolutely amazing. this is one of portland's BEST pizza places. forget about fancy pants $20 pizzas. if you're in salem, visiting the oregon gardens in silverton, or within a 15 mile radius, you owe it to yourself to try this establishment. you're stomach will thank you..

Our first visit to Abby's...we ordered a straight up pepperoni pizza and a single visit bar salad with two beers. The beers were nice and cold and the salad bar selection was very good and looked to be fresh....no problems with the beer and salad. The place was pretty crowded so we were encouraged as the old saying is if the locals frequent the establishment...it must be good food. Our pizza arrived in about 12 minutes...this is good...but on my god....it was loaded with pepperoni...I mean there were pepperoni on top of pepperoni and then some. The cheese was overwhelmed with the pepperoni and a little on the "crisp" side along with most the pepperoni. Now...for me...I love pepperoni....and have always thought that "the more there is the better"... but honestly...there was way too much on this pizza (I can't believe I'm saying this). After the first couple of slices it got kind of salty because of all the pepperoni. The pizza had mucho potential...but failed in my book because there was simply too much pepperoni. Oh did I mention there was too much pepperoni? I would probably NOT go back to Abby's unless I were in a drunken state of having the munchies....but then I might???

The best pizza I have ever had! Myself and daughter love the thin crust olive only. My husbands fav is the pan crust 1/2 taco and 1/2 Abby's special. If your ever by an Abby's you have to check it out! You won't be dissapointed.

I have heard about Abby's from friends, but just tried it for the first time a few days ago. Yum! Nice thin chewy crust, a little burnt to give it that smoky flavor, just the way I like it. Toppings piled high with lots of full fat cheese. Good stuff!

Abby's has yummy pizza and is definitely the best in Woodburn! It is kind of over priced and always crowded, but the food is worth it and if you want take out, they have some good beer choices to make the wait go faster.

Stopped for something to eat on our drive to Tacoma. Canteen setting and salad bar featured. Decent pizza but a bit too heavy on the cheese and toppings for our taste.

Every time we drive to Woodburn to visit family we have to get pizza at Abby's. They have a great menu with interesting and exciting pizzas. We always get one basic pepperoni and one combo. The friendly pizza chef has been fun to talk to about combos and once he made us an off menu pizza to fulfill our cravings of the day. Fun, delicious, pizza. Sometimes we dine in. Seating is easy to find even when it's a full house. We like to share a pitcher of beer, but we all wish they had an IPA on tap. If we're shorter on time, we'll call our order in for pick up. The pizza is always good every time, but it really tastes best fresh from the oven in Abby's dining room.

Had Abby's for the first time today with my co-workers. We placed a pick up order. I had been hearing for months about how good Abby's was from the people that I work with. Normally, I would have agreed with them. I had been enjoying my pepperoni pizza until we found a large bug baked into the cheese. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll stick to someplace else in the future. Bad first (and only) impression.

Was brought here by someone who said food here was good. It was exactly that, good. You pretty much get what you paid for. Had a pizza (1/2 mushroom, 1/2 Hawaiian) & salad bar. Mushrooms on pizza were a bit funky. Pizza was average. Salad bar did have a variety of veggies & fruits. Salad itself was simple & had some spinach sprinkled. I'd be back but not because the food was out of this world but because it was a nice, simple place with a decent lunch special.

Excellent pizza. their lunch special is a great deal,....for like $7 you get a drink, a pizza and a trip to the famous salad bar. Why 3-stars? I got some BAD shrimp from them...i mean BAD. When I told the manager what had happened, and that there was a mess in his parking lot that I made...he just looked at me blankly. No apology for making me projectile vomit through my nostrils, no effort to even give me a free small pizza on my next visit. Maybe he figured there wouldn't be another visit for me! I still go, just avoid the shrimp now.

  • Heidi C.

The best pizza around!! Here is why: 1) when you have had a long morning of working your tail off, it's nice to be able to call them up and order any one of their fabulous pizzas, 2) one bite of their pizza and your mouth is transported to a dreamland of soft hot cheese, garlic pieces, veggies fresh from Mother Earth, and many other goodies. This is the kind of pizza that doesn't hurt your stomach after you wolf it down. 5 stars.
