Ok, so it's Peet's. The general book on this company is that they are more elitist than Starbucks, but follow the exact same model...so, I begrudgingly go here because the product is generally very, very good. I was going to only give 4 stars because I'm predisposed to not like chains...but then I thought that wouldn't be fair because I made the choice to go in here instead of a local place. And it's true that it's as close to the quality of a local coffee shop as you can get in a chain. This particular location was busy this day. It was the first legitimately chilly day of late-summer 2013 and that meant everyone wanted a hot coffee or tea. All the tables were full and there was a bustling line. The staff were up to the task and were even super friendly about it! I had a Yelp check-in offer and she marked it down cheerily and took our order...made me feel glad I went in. The music that was on was awesome. There was a line waiting for drinks and the baristas were cranking them out and calling them without missing a beat. We waited a grand total of about 4 minutes from order to drink and were on our way. Couldn't have been a better experience (well maybe if the Miles Davis on the speakers was actually there playing live...but I don't think that's happening anytime soon.)

Whew! Thank goodness! They fixed whatever the heck went wacko with the coffee so it is no longer tar sludge. It's back to being the yummy delicious Peet's it's always been. It's still hard to give them more stars because although it's great coffee it's still not a very inviting place to stay for longer than it takes to cream up your cup 'o joe and take it to go. It's always packed with people though and the only alternatives are *$'s literally across the street or whole paycheck also across the street. I do love their pastries oh so much though plus free wi-fi is nice because *$'s makes you jump throw razor-wire hoops and charges you through the nose for their version of the interwebs. Great Coffee Peet's! Thanks!

Better than Starbucks and Bridge city cafe in the area since there's only three options for coffee on the go at Bridgeport. I do like their beans more.

I like Peet's. they're pretty good but there are so many other coffee shops that are better. I definitely prefer Peet's over Starbucks, but would much rather go to Dutch Bros or a mom and pop coffee shop.

Well, I love my latte and my bear claw is one of the best that I have had in very long time; I have a lousy memory but I never forget pastry. Ever. I have been sitting here watching the staff here punch customers in and out efficiently and all seem to be leaving with smiles on their face. This is no small feat.

Sitting here in Peets in a verifiable downpour, slowly sipping my caramel-flavored decaf and enjoying the music that they're playing currently (classical with hints of harpsichord). One thing that makes me feel as though I stand out like Steve Urkel amongst a room filled with Cosmo bachelors...I am on a Dell. And not just any Dell, an old (well, couple years...) Dell. Here I sit among all the shiny-happy Apples with the occasional Jobs-o-phile sneaking looks at my poor Dell, probably assuming it is virus-ridden and somehow *unclean*. But, I totally digress (and I like my Dell, BTW). Not much to be said about reviewing a Peets, other than the usual: it is solid, a great place to grab a good cup of joe and hang out on the Interwebs for an hour. Recommended!

Peet's tea is so much better than Starbuck's. Peet's bagged tea isn't the best, but still superior to Starbuck's Tazo but I really enjoy having a pot of the loose leaf tea at Peet's. I especially like the Jasmine Downy Pearls green tea. I bought a tin of it to seep at home and it's kept fresh for several months now and saved me a lot of money in tea. The matcha freddo tastes better than the Starbucks and Jamba juice versions. Mmmmm, guilty pleasure. I didn't really care for their hot chocolate... It's supposed to be really good, I don't know, I guess drinking chocolate has ruined regular hot chocolate for me.

So I get into Tigard (from Tillamook) a mere 40 minutes before my CLE was to start (damn you 26/217 traffic! Where are you when I need you? (I keed, I keed!)), so obviously needed to find something to do to kill some time and hopefully cure me from my 5:45 wakeup time this morning (ugh). We used to live in Tualatin, so I'm relatively familiar with the area. The choices nearby (as I understand them to be) are: Starbucks across the street, Borders Cafe, the coffee bar in Whole Paycheck (oh, I mean Foods) also across the street or Peet's. I know Borders makes average coffee. I know Whole Foods makes a solid mocha, but I thought I'd give Peet's a try. I agree with Don B....Peet's are better than Starbucks. The coffee's better. This location is in Bridgeport (right by the south entrance). The cashier was friendly and chipper, the barista acted stressed and unhappy. Which is fine so long as my coffee is right. It turned out pretty well today. The beans are decent, the chocolate wasn't too much or too sweet, and the milk was foamed nicely. They have a pretty wide selection of pastries as well as beans and a fairly impressive offering of loose leaf teas. It was pretty damn busy for 8:30 on a Thursday morning--no line, but most seats were taken and there was a healthy buzz of conversation throughout the shop. All in all a perfectly fine place. Nothing to go out of your way for, but if you're in the area abd needing some caffeine, you probably won't be disappointed.

This coffee chain outpost is clueless in many ways. 1) they are not interested in pleasing the customer, barely listened when I tried to give feedback on the weak, almost cold (probably 120-130 degrees) "wet cappucchino" that did not even come up the the level of any corner drive through. 2) they haven't been properly trained to crank out anything remotely resembling a cappuccino-the drink I received did not even have enough silken foam to qualify as a latte. Never again, this is my third and last try at this place. FYI here is a definition:A cappuccino is similar to a caffè latte in that both add frothed milk to espresso, but differs in two respects. Firstly, a cappuccino is traditionally prepared with much less steamed or textured milk than a latte - the latte is claimed to have been invented as simply a cappuccino with more milk, to suit American tastes.[1]Secondly, cappuccinos feature a distinctive layer of foam on top, which is lesser or absent in lattes. There is some overlap in the usage: a wet cappuccino is virtually the same as a short latte with more foam, while American coffee chains may serve cappuccinos and lattes at identical sizes, distinguishing only by greater foam in the cappuccino. In a traditional cappuccino, as served in Europe and artisanal coffee houses in the United States, the total of espresso and milk/foam make up between approximately 150 ml (5 imp fl oz; 5 US fl oz) and 180 ml (6 imp fl oz; 6 US fl oz). US commercial coffee chains more often serve the cappuccino as a 360 ml (13 imp fl oz; 12 US fl oz) drink, sometimes larger. Make your coffee beverages at home...even drink instant before venturing into a Peets.

Ohhh Peets, how do I love ya! PS - if you are going to Bridgeport the seating fills up FAST. and PPS - if you didn't know about Peets - buy your coffee there, even as little as a 1/4 pound and get a card for a free cuppa Joe - on them! Or money off your upperwardly mobile beverage :)

Love this place! My go to is the blended espresso, no matter what time of year it is I loved iced coffee!

I'm a sucker for Peet's as their coffee is pretty good and they have a very good tea selection. I also lived in Berkeley for awhile so I feel like it's a local store in some way since they started there. This is a good location with a good staff.

I don't know much about Peet's but I am happy I stopped in here.. They serve ALMOND MILK.. unlike starbucks.. and they are a super chain so you can find them in very convenient places, like the mall. Friendly staff. Plenty of seating. I enjoyed my coffee just fine. :)

Super nice and helpful gals working. The display case full of baked goods was soooo tempting! I wish I had snagged the last raspberry cream cheese scone... My vanilla latte was perfect and just the right temp. We also tried the green tea latte, which I'm sure a lot of people like, but all I could taste was seaweed so I won't be trying that again, ha!

Peet's coffee is very tasty and not over-roasted like some other chains. Their barista's are really what sets them apart though. Rather than heating up a gallon of milk at a time (notice I say "heating" not "steaming"), the folks at Peet's will carefully steam your milk in a quantity perfect for just your drink. The milk is then slowly poured with a spoon holding back the foam. As a result, you get a texture that is much more satisfying than just heated up milk. They also give a small amount of foam on top, which really seals the drink. The store is tastefully appointed and classy looking. And I cannot tell you how pleasant it is to have my order taken by somebody without neck tattoo's, without a railroad spike pierced through their head, with monochromatic hair color, and who smiles with the sincerity that says "I'm glad to work there and glad to be serving you as a customer". Coffee shops throughout the Northwest could learn something from the Bridgeport Peet's. Many of us don't want to "keep it weird", and don't like attitude with our coffee; particularly first thing in the morning. My drink: medium mocha, no whip. Finally, if you're not a tea drinker, this is a good place to start; the selection of teas is very good and the quality is excellent as well.

If you are looking for a great coffee you'll find it here. The coffee is great not over roasted like others. The shop is always clean and the staff is very friendly. Enjoy

I really wish Peet's would come to Eugene. Coffee is way better then Starbucks and I always stop when I am in Portland. My two negatives have to do with the Bridegport location in Portland. One time the staff closed 5 minutes before actual closing and I was unable to order my drink. Another time the woman taking our bean order tried to pass off regular beans as espresso beans. She was to lazy to go in the back and get our beans. We did end up with the beans we wanted after calling her on it.

Best coffee chain in PDX and the Bridgeport crew are the most fun! They always make me feel like I'm the most important customer of their day. And I loved the $1 off iced drink deal when I checked in!

Ok, so yeah, it's a Peet's. It's California's answer to Starbucks... but... The coffee is way better. That means the world to me. Plus, as far as I know, unlike other certain international coffee brands, Peet's doesn't do stuff like buy up the Clover coffee maker corporation then jack the maintenance and service fees way up, causing everyone that had a Clover machine to ditch it and effectively cornering the market on the machines (then wasting them on crappy coffee). Ok, so corporate-based rant aside, this specific Peet's location has super friendly (and extremely cracked out on coffee) employees, fast service, the standard offering of pastries, etc, and strong, decent coffee. The crowd in here is quite lively for a mid-morning session (although with the current recession, I find that most coffee shops are bustling these days), and there are plenty of tables to sit and work. I always try to support local coffee, but sometimes necessity dictates turning to a chain like Peet's. At least, as far as the coffee itself goes, Peet's does a decent job of keeping it real.. especially where other chains fail.

Do you want to start going to a coffee shop where they actually learn your name and drink? Because I kept going to the same Starbucks over and over again and they never-ever-caught on. So I switched to Peet's, and got the recognition and better-tasting coffee that I deserved. The seating area is a little chaotic; I probably wouldn't want to hang out and write the next great American novel here. But I wouldn't do that anyway, because I write nonfiction. So ha. I always see the same people working and visiting, which makes it a comfy-happy part of my morning. The lattes are very good. Coffee isn't bitter, syrup isn't too sweet. They even sprinkle it with happy nutmeg for you. With so many choices between me and my office, Peet's can't be beat.

It's corporate coffee chains like Peet's that make me wonder, why do people still go to Starbucks? I mean, I work at a Starbucks for Peet's sake, so you'd think I'd be partial to the Green Giant, but I will actually forgo my 30% employee discount at Starbucks to get my coffee across the street at Peet's. The employees at this Peet's are cool. They're not fake, or rude or annoying and are good at moving people in and out quickly without making you feel like herded cattle. I also like being able to watch the barista make my drink, not because I want to make sure they're doing it right and not stirring it with their finger or anything, but because I like that personal touch of being able to see the work that goes into making my drink. I think I can appreciate my coffee more that way.

I love Peet's because they cater to my french press loving ways and coarse grind the coffee beans. I am pretty picky about my brew, if I was getting a latte I would be less pressed to seek out perfection. Many blends have passed through the tiny strainer in my press and I push down the plunger hoping for a smooth, bold but never bitter cup of coffee. I think i've had every brand in the grocery store, the majority of whats offered by Starbucks and a few by Stumptown too. Peet's is hands down my favorite. Day to day I go for the house blend but on special occasions I go for a quarter pound of the Arabian Mocha Sanani. When I ask questions, the baristas are alway specific and knowledgable. I also love that I am treated to a small coffee of my choice when I pop in to re-stock on grounds. Thanks to Peet's, I will never have to endure the generic office blend that I would otherwise be consuming at work.

Although I really like their coffee, there are things about Peet's that I do not like. They charge $1.00 for refills (Starbucks is free for green and gold members), they have no mobile app that allows you to purchase items and receive free drinks (Starbucks has a great app). Even though Starbucks' coffee is inferior in taste to Peet's, I will go there for these conveniences. Very busy Peet's too.

Cute little spot to grab a java or tea whilst you wait for the shopping to begin! The coffee is ok. But the chai was really yummy if you like it on the sweeter side. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was, well, the same as any other coffee shop.

It's a Peet's. I have to admit I am running out of stuff to say about these places. It's perfectly great--super-nice staff, everything's clean, the iced tea was delicious, my mom flipped out about indulging herself with a chai latte. That was actually really fun to watch. Dig this spot just fine--nothing wrong with it at all, except that it's a chain and I tend to spend my money other ways.

They make great mochas!!! They use super dark chocolate and they are not sweet so you can customize it, unlike at other coffee places. I have recently tried their Mayan chocolate mochas and am a big fan. Their coffee is a little more expensive but worth it, and worth the drive to find it......I choose Peet's every time, if it is available!

Not my first time here, but really a great place. Great baristas and the treats are good and the coffee is really really good. I want one of these in my neighborhood.

The staff at this location are always friendly without being overbearing--and they're as good at energizing your day as the caffeine they peddle. I have a Peet's and two Starbucks (one in Barnes & Nobles) within walking distance, but I usually opt for Peet's because of the friendly atmosphere. If the seating area were twice as big, I'd probably go for five stars, because sometimes I aim to meet someone here for a quick business chat and the location's popularity means that seating can be tight. The free wi-fi definitely makes this a good place to meet for professionals. When I've used the location for bulk coffee and pastries, the staff was both prompt and helpful with deciding on how best to choose the selections.

  • Joan F.

Always clean and inviting, Peet's is a great business. I've always had good service and excellent coffee. I don't like this location much because it's always packed and loud. Still, I see why folks gather here--it's pleasant and the pastries look amazing. Bridgeport could use at least one more coffee shop to answer the demand. For me, coming here or to Barnes and Noble's cafe is great answer to avoiding action movies that my husband and son are drawn to see. This time, I'm avoiding Get Hard while prepping for work next week.

  • John L.

Great coffee. Great service, albeit a little slow. Only drawback is that parking can be a pain. There are only a few spots in front of it. If you're shopping at Bridgeport, it's great. If you want to stop by for a quick coffee.... might be circling for parking for a while, and when you find a spot, most often than not, you're going to be walking a ways.

I heart Peet's in the overall, and would give the chain four stars, but this location only gets three, for a few reasons. First of all, the counter area is all jammed up. It's like they've intentionally erected a barrier to access with display stands holding various products. Then, there's junk all over the counter, too. Last, the lines are confusing. Shouldn't the place to order be closest to the door? Then you would move left for your beans or drink or whatever. I wasn't the only person who was slightly befuddled by the order line being in the middle (you go left to pick up drinks, and right for beans, but what if your order a drink and beans? Agh!). I think they need a feng shui expert to come in and straighten them out. Otherwise, this is a good place to get an excellent cup of coffee or tea. I'd rank it at the bottom of the four Peet's I frequent, though, with the Hawthorne spot being my fave.

  • Tam F.

Simply given that there are so few real Peet's locations here in the area, I was a little taken aback at how few people were working at such a busy location when I stopped in yesterday to meet a Bay Area friend for coffee and to pick up some rations for the house. What also has made me knock this location down a star is the fact that their furnishings are rundown-like super run down. I don't think I saw a single chair that did not have a rip, a row of duck tape or some other type of "quick fix" to it. Corporate needs to do a spot check here and pronto and due to this place being at the busy outdoor mall, should not be understaffed during the Christmas season.

  • Brett G.

I've been around a lot of coffee shops over the years but this Peet's beats them all hands down. The first time I walked in the door, I noticed the staff smiling and talking to each other. It was only after awhile that I realized that they really get along with each other. So the obvious question is: why do I bring this up? Easy. When you have a happy staff, you know the store is managed effectively, everyone takes pride in the work they do. The drinks are top notch and the customer service outstanding. It's always a pleasure to walk in where "everyone knows your name"
