I tried this place on a whim and I'm glad I did. The food tasted really good and the portions were quite large. I had plenty of leftovers for when I got hungry an hour later. Yeah, Chinese does that to me. The tea was good and the egg soup was yummy. I had the sweet and sour pork and shrimp with rice and chowmein. I would definitely recommend you give the Red Apple a try.

When in Stayton, we go to the Red Apple. The food is reasonably priced and you get what you pay for. Service is normally good, hot, timely, and in reasonable amounts. I would recommend this restaurant.

I beg you... DON'T DO IT! Terrible terrible terrible service. I can't stress that enough! The restaurant side is quiet and some dished are okay at best. The bar side is a nightmare! Floors are always sticky, so wear boots if you MUST go, ore your shoes will be glued to the floor. Restrooms aren't very clean, and the staff is the worst! So rude! You belong there if you are already a regular, but if you just bar hopping every once and awhile like I do, you are not welcome.. unless your a smoker. The smokers are nice to everyone.

Drove up here for dinner last night and for our Red Apple fix. Egg Flower Soup is some of the best. Check out the specials. The Beef and Shrimp Lo Mein is the bomb!

Went with my momma today for lunch. I was impressed as I never would have thought that Stayton would have a good Chinese restaurant. I really liked this place. The hot and sour soup was thicker then I am used to, but tasty. The cashew chicken was light and nice. The price was fantastic. Lunch with leftovers for less then 15 bucks for the both of us. Give it a try.

The Red Apple is definitely my top spot for Chinese food. Even though there are quite a few closer to where I live, I always travel the extra miles to get my fill here. The food is of great quality and the staff are always friendly. I will order the exact same things at other restaurants and not be as satisfied as I would be here. Their pork fried rice is the best I've ever eaten and their crab puffs are delectable. The chicken fried rice is moist and their many entrees provide an array of taste sensations sure to please. Yes, some of it can get a bit greasy but what a great guilty pleasure. They do have a bar connected to the restaurant which is nice. They have a few pool tables and if you catch them on the right night, they might be doing karaoke (with a song book that contains one of the widest array of genre choices I've seen in a karaoke bar). The dining room is quite lovely and very homey. Open on most (if not all) holidays, it's a great environment for a family out or a couple just looking for some quiet time alone and some romance.

Our family LOVES this place. The food is not greasy but full of flavor. We recommend it highly!

Bland food. I give it a one, because they do have really good Crab Puffs. That is it; everything else is bland even if you order spicy.

While there have been a couple sub-par meals, 99.9% of the time the food is awesome. The service is great and we're always treated well. We're frequent customers and this is one of two Chinese restaurants we're willing to eat at in the Stayton/Salem area. The General Tso Chicken (extra spicy) and crab puffs are the best!

Do not come here if you like to eat food. The worst Chinese food! and food overall, Yuck! We unfortunately stopped here on our way to Black Butte. I do not understand the reviews and yelp surely failed us this time. Sure there are not many choices in this town but come on......disgusting!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE think twice...Recommended to me by a local shop owner. I ordered a simple meal from the combo section of their menu. Fried shrimp, fried rice and chow mein with pan fried noodles on the side. I swear they used cocktail shrimp with so much tough batter not only chewy but no flavor. Hardly any veggies in the chow mein, fried rice was white I truly doubt it was ever in a frying pan same goes for the pan "fried" noodles. The meal was the worst Chinese food I have ever dumped into my garbage disposal. Oh yeah...they also water down the red dipping sauce so thin I couldn't believe it. What a waste.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
