Always a special place to go to for a celebration or just a quiet dinner! The food is always perfect and the waitress are very attentive! I love the fireplace and dark woodwork in the dining room too! I've never had a bad meal here.

I love this restaurant for breakfast or lunch--so much fun sitting by the window watching people golf, while eating super good food. The service is also great--highly recommend this restaurant. Haven't had dinner there, but I'm sure it's probably great also.

Had the best diner tonight. Halibut with lime sauce, red potatoes and tomatoes basil soup. Thanks for the great service Elaine and Rick. Your great attention to detail are always welcome. We've never been disappointed.

Hands down the best Ribeye Steak in Salem. I understand the owner, John Rudishauser (Rudy), cuts most of the meat himself, and the quality really shows. The service at Rudy's is personal and attentive. The Manager, Rick Wilson, does a phenomenal job greeting, seating and checking in with customers, making sure the dining experience is going smoothly. The servers could not have been more on-the-ball, attentive without being cloying (Thank you, Amber, great job!). The restaurant atmosphere -- and the pace -- is a cross between relaxed-businenss-casual and country-club-establishment. The bar pours an honest drink. I have been dining here since 2000, and the few times things were not right, staff corrected them immediately, without argument or attitude. That's really what is most important to me ... not that things always go right, because stuff happens, and things will go wrong, (out of Roasted Prime Rib, or the Chef didn't make Peanut Butter Pie today, or a water glass got overturned on the table), but that the Rudy's Management and Staff strive to correct whatever the problem is, and they do it with a smile. That's Gold, to me. We celebrated a birthday there last night, and the evening could not have been more enjoyable. Two at the table had Rudy's Ribeye steaks ($29.95 each, dinners come with soup or salad and bread), one had Roast Prime Rib, the Caddy Cut ($25.95), and one had the Filet Mignon, the Regular Cut ($29.95). Delicious! Make sure to let your server know you are celebrating a birthday ... the celebrant receives a complementary Homemade Berry Cobbler A La Mode. I recommend calling ahead for reservations.

"drool" Absolutely delicious! ! I ordered the salmon fillet with mashed potatoes, and a caesar salad. The salmon literally melted in my mouth, but the mashed potato was too salty. I had to get the marionberry cobbler, which came with ice cream. It was very sweet, so it's good to get some tea or coffee with it. I'm so stuffed it's hard to breathe.

I had lunch with a friend at Rudy's this past week -- lots of Christmas luncheons going on, so there was a nice hum of activity, but nothing loud, making for easy conversation. I ordered crab cakes, my friend their Classic Caesar Salad with Calimari. Each of us enjoyed our choices. My crab cakes (two small cakes with sauce at $14.95) came with NOTHING. Our server asked, "Did I want to add rice and salad for $3.00?" Well ... yes. Would have been a pretty slim meal without. It was a little off-putting to me that they didn't include a scoop of salad and a scoop of rice with the main dish. Is their profit margin that close?

I would definitely go again and try some new items. Everyone in our party seemed very happy with what they ordered.

this is a classic country club dining atmosphere. very well appointed. every time a wife and I have come here for dinner, and it's been a very fine meal. service is gracious. let's understand a few things, there are no one two or three star Michelin restaurants in this state. my judgment on restaurants are based upon their value and the service and the food you got. so when you see more reviews and other restaurants that's what I really based upon

the only place I would recommend to get a steak in Salem. period. you will not be disappointed with a medium filet mignon.

This place is great for breakfast. We just keep going back... The food won't change your life, but it is far superior to a majority of breakfast joints in Salem. The last time I ate here they made me a custom dish that wasn't on the menu! Who does that anymore? You also get the added benefit of watching people shank their drives off the first tee. No wait, no noise, good bloody marys, good food...check it out.

I came here because I love ribeyes. My buddy read James M's review praising the cut. After a couple dirty martinis and some teriyaki steak bites, my rib eye (ordered medium rare) finally arrived . I tore into it as you would any victim. First bite, a revelation. I noticed it was over cooked(med-well), didn't matter. Normally I would ask for a re-fire. The steak was juicy, tender and perfectly seasoned, not destroying said meat would have been a travesty. After my meal I felt beyond satisfied. Best meal of summer running 66 after gratuity. Would have easily had 5 stars given steak temp being on point. Service was great, allowed us dinner menu early.

Enjoyed lunch on the patio after a round of golf. They were very attentive to get us water and drinks as soon as we sat down. They gave us ample time to review the menu and then were right there to take our order. The food arrived in just the right amount of time, having allowed us a little time to cool down after our golf game. There was absolutely no rush placed on us to leave after we had finished our meal, which allowed us the opportunity to relax a bit and enjoy the view. My only complaint was that my fries were a little overdone. Otherwise all was great.

The food is always wonderful. Wasn't the best place for a bunch of guys to have lunch inside. (we were a little loud) If it was nicer out we would have sat outside. The house feel and view makes this place a great place to take anyone.

Hands down the best rib-eye in Salem. If you can catch the jalapeño sauce of the week - even better. Whether for lunch or dinner, I can always count on good food and service at Rudy's.

Great breakfast!! I love the ambiance of the bar area. The french toast is corn flake crusted and very tasty. I also like the Huevos rancheros, it is not on the menu but it is often a special. I am told by friends that they have some of the best steaks in town although I do not eat steak. The Smoked Salmon Penne is always a treat me and my friend split on occasion, we both get dinner salads and it is a perfect meal. I am also a fan of the veggie Quesadilla, however I wish it was served with salsa in addition to the pico de gallo (personal preference). John the owner is always very personable, it is always nice to see him there.

Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was a fabulous, perfect meal. There were four of us, and everyone really enjoyed their food. We even went for the appetizers and dessert and managed to finish it all off because everything was so good. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The atmosphere is very nice, being sort of classy but not stuffy, and overall very laid-back and featuring a nice view of the golf course. I was a little worried about the service at first because they were very slow on refilling our drinks, but they soon kicked it into gear and were very attentive, refilling all our drinks quickly and taking care of us very well. We started with two appetizers: calamari and "divots" which were little pieces of beef (we asked what cut but the waitress didn't know) in a teriyaki sauce. The calamari was good but the divots were outstanding. Extremely tender and melt in your mouth good. Everyone was digging those, which is why we were curious about the cut of meat. The special that night was a salmon fillet stuffed with crab and served with some kind of crazy lobster, prawn, and I don't know what else sauce on it. When the birthday girl heard about the special she was like, "I don't think I even need a menu, that sounds awesome!" Both the ladies ended up having that. I had the rib eye, and our fourth person had the rack of lamb. I had a bite of the salmon and it was delicious. The rib eye was AMAZING. That's always been my favorite steak but I hadn't had one in a long time and it was unbelievable. My mouth is literally watering right now thinking about it! So tender and flavorful. One of those deals where you're sad to eat the last bite. I got the baked potato and green salad with it and they were good as well. One thing I thought really made the meal, besides the great food and company, was the pacing. The entire meal took just about exactly two hours, but they brought out everything with such perfect timing that it didn't feel like a long time at all. The bread was brought out and just when we had finished it and sat back for a minute here came the appetizers. When we had finished and rested another minute here was the salads, and so on. With the nice relaxed atmosphere and the general ambiance it made for a nice "dining experience" rather than just a meal. Highly recommended for a celebration or just someplace "nice" to go for a treat. It's not huge though, so reservations are definitely in order.

Great place for special occasions. It's dim lighting, but I always try to get a table near the fireplace. The food is delicious, very rich though.

I've eaten lunch here a few times... halibut fish n chips is better than average and the clam chowder (only on Fridays) was really damn good - so far second only to Blackfish Cafe in Lincoln City. Entertaining to watch the local regulars beeline to the bar.

I have been going to Rudy's for years. They consistently have great service and food. The filet's are fabulous, the salmon with lobster sauce is the bomb and the halibut is delicious. The drinks and wine our wonderful. If I want to go have a nice classy meal I would put Rudy's at the top of my list.
