My friend had been bugging me to check out Uly's with him for a while and I had been successfully avoiding it every time. When he wanted to have his birthday dinner there, however, I was trapped. It's difficult to say whether the service was bad because we had a large party, but at a Mexican restaurant you really don't want to be waiting 20 min to get a drink refill. It seemed a bit weird to have to pay for plain chips and salsa but I suppose if you can't get a server to ever refill them, your only chance is the first time you order them. Several of our party whipped out Groupons at the end of the meal and I instantly regretted not getting one myself. I imagine it'd be worth another star if I paid less.

My Brother in Law and I were talking about mexican restaurants, and how for the most part all of the food tastes the same. He said to try Uly's downtown Gresham. Saturday afternoon about 4:30 we walked in and were greeted properly, not a customer in sight. Then an employee told us there was a bar downstairs so we headed downstairs to the bar area. Basement bar, dim lighting (first thought is if you don't light up your gaming area the place must be dingy dirty) and kind of bland looking. Our server/bartender was awesome, he was very knowledgeable about the entire food menu. That meant a lot to me because when I order Mexican, their menu instanly turns into my menu. The only reason I veiw their menu is to give me an idea about their ingredients they might have available, then I order what I want. Isn't that what a real functioning restaurant with real functioning cooks/ chefs should be like? Anyway the server took our order using a wireless notepad and we were ready to eat. Our food arrived in an acceptable manner of time. **********Again our server was the reason we'll most likely go back************

Everything on the menu is defuckinglicious, the staff is super rad and while sometimes the service can be slow at times you have to realize the server is the food runner/busser/bar tender/server and greeter....oh and Togo orders as well. So plan for an evening and I giant pile of leftovers, you won't be disappointed.

My hubby and I have made a point of going to Uly's almost weekly since we moved here last year. Service is friendly and relaxed and food is consistently awesome. Salsas are wonderful and they have the best homemade chips on the planet. I usually get "The Bowl" that has pretty much everything in it, topped with their great chipotle sauce and their A+ guacamole. Everything here is authentic, fresh and delicious, and the margaritas are outstanding!

Our family has been here numerous times. The staff is friendly, they always interact with our kiddos and the food is great! I've only had one thing I didn't like. (The chicken quesadilla) I usually go for their burrito bowl, pork al pastor is my favorite! My hubby tries something different every time (last time it was the GIANT "The Todd" burrito) and has loved it all.

This place is so delicious! This is a family owned business and they work their asses off! The food is fresh and fast and filling! The tortilla soup is the best I have ever had!! A fall staple for me!

This place is great! They have great drinks, prices are awesome and you get SO much food. I order two tacos and a side of rice and beans and I couldn't finish my whole plate. My boyfriend got a burrito and he loved it (also massive portions). This is a fun place to hang if you are looking for a late night spot to have some yummy tacos.

  • Ramie M.

Nice gem. Great service with a smile. Chips and salsa are great, and the food arrived hot. The dishes themselves are very flavorful. The prices seemed extremely reasonable for what I received. Will definitely return again when I am in Gresham.

So we had a date night, those are always fun. We stopped here for the first time. We were able to seat ourselves - NO WAITING We told our server it was our first visit - She had food suggestions We were thirsty - Beer was Served We were hungry - Chips were served, I like the green salsa w/ fresh hot chips! ~ It was a quiet night, good food portions, slightly more than we expected on the bill. But that is not a complaint. Our Server was good to us attending to our needs and wants. We never did make it downstairs.... Maybe next time.

So, I went in the other day on a regular thursday afternoon with two of my friends and was baffled by the service. I seriously didn't even get to taste the food. When I got there they made us wait for about 10-15 minutes, when the place was almost empty. It was absolutely ridiculous. Then what came next is what REALLY PISSED ME OFF. After that stupid long wait to just be sat, a group of about 4-6 people came in and the lady sat them immediately. Right in front of us. THEY REALLY HAD THE AUDACITY TO DO THIS TO US. I am most likely never coming back to this place. They need to learn how to treat their customers, because they're going to keep losing them with the way they run things now.

Uly's is amazing!! I experienced Uly's in it's original cart form while going to school at UO in Eugene- and it was my life. Keith and Matt were so kind, and provided the best tacos a drunk or sober person could ask for. When I discovered Keith had opened a restaurant in Gresham, I was ecstatic! I finally made it out there, and it was as phenomenal as I remembered. The nostalgia likely played it's part, but nonetheless, the "Trifecta" taco plate was many dreams realized. Do yourself a favor and get there!!

  • Carl W.

The service was bad, there was only two waitresses when we went and they could not keep up with the place. However this is to be expected when it is busy so that's really the owner at fault. Got the big smothered burrito and it was massive I could only finish 3/4 of it. Food was pretty good but we spent about 45min-1hour before getting our food from the time we got there. Waiting on food to be made was about 35min of that time. If they improved the service then this place would get 4 stars.

  • Darcy K.

Seriously, the best mexican food. We found this by accident, and could not be more pleased. I went with 3 other people and we all agree that it would be worth the drive over the bridge to eat here again. Everything was fresh and tasted wonderful. The service was good and efficient.

  • Ty B.

Excellent food, great service, fantastic drinks! Healthy portions at a reasonable price.

  • Ellie H.

This place is amazing. The food is phenomenal, the staff is friendly, knowledgable, and engaging. The quality of the food is awesome. It's difficult to choose between some of the super flavorful meat options. Their chips are house made and perfectly cooked and well worth the $2.00 for the portion that you get. This is a taco shack, not a Mexican food place. There's a difference. So don't be bummed when you don't see greasy fajitas or fried chimichangas on the menus. Instead you'll find large portions of fresh, slow roasted meats in a variety of unique burritos, taco options that you won't be able to choose between,(thank you Trifecta!), and anything else that will have you coming back for more because you'll want to try it all!

  • Sherria F.

Great food, excellent location, nice lil gem in the heart of downtown Gresham. Definitely recommend them if your up for delicious tacos and burritos. Their homemade sauces are the bomb!!!

  • Heather E.

I can't really complain about my meal. I ordered a chicken salad and it was really good. The problem arose when 4 people from our party ordered different burritos. Someone other than our waiter brought them out and didn't know which burrito was which. One person ended up eating the correct burrito that they ordered. They need to mark the burritos with a toothpick color or something to make it easier. They were very busy and understaffed that evening as well.

Uly's is like entering the castle of the witch from Hansel and Gretel. They welcomed me at the door with quite a bit of happiness while I did not realize the nonsense I was getting myself into. I went in and the menu seemed fairly long. Then after I ordered my meal, they kept forgetting about me as if I wasn't even there. It took a very long time to get the bill and to get them to bring nearly anything except the entree. In this restaurant, I had to walk up to get much of my utensils and refill my own water. I had a Groupon with a hefty discount and it was still bad. I do not know why, but the burrito had something, perhaps some spice, that reminds me of dollar taco shops. At first it seemed good but as I ate into it, I was deeply disappointed. The price for these items were also higher than at a typical Mexican restaurant. Try somewhere else, like Woody's Tacos in Vancouver or various Mexican carts on 82nd Avenue. You'll can get wonderful food at those places for a small amount of money, unlike at Uly's Taco Shack. Uly's Taco Shack is something to discourage.

We had lunch here on Sunday and everything was top notch! Happy Hour menu is good all day Sunday and the Food is amazing... Best Hot sauce in town.... Try it you won't regret it if you love Mexican food!!

  • Jennifer L.

We wanted to sample a couple of the meats, so we did get a 3 taco plate. Both a fan of the pineapple pulled pork. Service was friendly and attentive. Reasonable prices and food is prepared very quickly. I had a tostado, which was really good and was pretty fat. Came with rice, which tasted good, but don't really care for just rice without beans. My friend got a burrito and it was huge. Wasn't even the large, but definitely 2 servings no matter what. He enjoyed it. Wasn't impressed with the canned soda and the fact that you have to purchase chips & salsa, but that's how it goes sometimes. We enjoyed the food and it's a nice looking establishment.

  • Aki K.

Excellent food, love the trifecta! This is a great spot to hit up on the way back from Mt. Hood. The chips and guacamole are awesome.

    (5)
  • Holly R.

This place is my go to for having drinks with friends. Jen is the best bartender and we always have a good time! Diablo Fritas or the trifecta are my go to food choices. Food is great, drinks are awesome, and I never want to leave!!

    (5)
  • Crescencio R.

The white folk tako shop. And really bad service. The chips are good, and the meet is good, margarita hmmm had better. A little to on the expensive side, order the trifecta, and I have no complains about the food. But I felt I was in suburbs of Orange County! The most "Mexican" in here was the names of the pork (carnitas, al pastor and adobada) ooo and me and my friend. Gave it a 2 start because it lacks from the "sason". If you don't know what it is, ask a real Mexican. I think I had the wrong name/skin color (there was a Filipino in my group) to get good Customer service! We stood up to pay, and they help some one else before me as we had been waiting to pay for 5 min. I do have to say the customers are outstanding, they gave us better service than the servers since my friend forgot her purse and some one came up and told us. Sorry but I expect the same treatment and a good evening from a place like this. Don't waste your money or time here, unless you want to eat good salsa and get your order wrong!

  • Bruce S.

Went last night for my first visit. The food at Uly's was very, very good. I had the Trifecta with Carnitas, Al Pastor and Adobada. Each taco was delicious, and I enjoyed the flavors of each meat. I also ordered the Combinar, which comes with a good amount of their fresh made chips, their green and red salsas along with fresh guacamole. Very good! Our server was fun and made us feel welcome. All staff seemed to be happy to be there. Can't wait to get back to Uly's!!! Note: I've lived in Gresham for the past 40 years. The location is not prime, and so many restaurants have struggled in this spot. When I saw Uly's modest little sign, I feared this was going to be yet another failure. Similarly, the menu design was very basic. Thankfully, Uly's has everything that really matters. Great food, super friendly service, and a good selection of food and drink options.

  • Jaemes G.

I've eaten here about six times and each time the food and service have just gotten better. My girlfriend really enjoy the food and will keep coming back. Love the Al Pastor!

    (4)
  • Mattie M.

Oh my yum. Only complaint is my stomach hurts from consuming too much delicious food! My fiancé has eaten at the cart in Eugene when he was in college and once he heard about their location in Gresham he had to make the 40 min drive for the taco trifecta!! Great service and awesome food! Can't wait to go back for more!

    (5)
  • Josh C.

BIG burritos, place was busy but service was reasonable. Fun bar scene and good place to watch the game

    (5)
  • Meagan S.

The chips were good other than having to pay for chips and salsa. They came with a red salsa and a green salsa. I had the tacos al pastor for $7.50. They were ok, but dry and lacking of flavor. Overall I probably will not come back. Their lunch prices were cheap.

Amazing service, super yummy food, great atmosphere! We started coming here a couple weeks ago for the soft opening. It has already built itself up as one of my favorites down town and the official grand opening doesn't even happen till Tuesday!! There is a 2nd bar downstairs aside from the restaurant as well! I can not wait for the new expanded menu to start on Tuesday. In my opinion, we should all do everything we can to support this business and keep it around for as long as possible. Ps. The Al Pastor....once it hits your mouth...HEAVEN!!!

I am not sure how many stars to put? I am very confused. We tried to sit upstairs and waited 5 minutes with not any acknowledgement ( understaffed) So we decided to go downstairs and our server was great but all alone . There was only 2 people serving in the whole place and they were busy. It took awhile to get our food but it was good however completely wrong we were starving at this time but said nothing. Because it was good and we did not want to wait. We ordered things to go for people at home and again completely wrong. I ordered carnitas because my husband can't eat chicken and it was chicken...they put the wrong meat in my friends mine her daughters and my husbands. I do not believe it was our servers fault she was very good . And I am sure if we brought it to her attention she would have fixed it . We just dealt with it. But having worked in downtown Gresham for 17 years it is a very fickle community. I would love to see Ulys make it but this was 4 mistakes... I will give them another chance. Everyone has an off day. The salsa is delicious! I just think more servers / cooks would really add to the success of this place .

  • Bryan A.

I like this place - setting could use a little but the food is good and a little unique. The first time I was here I felt like my food was floating in sour cream, so the next time I just ordered something that didn't usually come with it.

I went to Uly's on a Friday at noon and this place was dead :( We were the only people from noon to one, and it's a darn shame because the food was AWESOME! I had a chicken burrito (I can't remember the name of it - the Gresham I think), and not only was it HUGE but it was insanely tasty! I ate 1/4 of it and took the rest home (which was enough for dinner for both my husband and I that night). I felt the prices were reasonable, less than $10 for a great lunch. The chips and salsa were to die for! They clearly make their chips fresh and I could have made a meal of just chips and salsa. The only downside is the location - it's tucked away in a spot where I have seen businesses come and go from over the years. I sure hope Uly's makes it - I know I will be back for more goodness!

  • Janiece W.

Not quite what we expected but still good; had the Uly Burrito (HUGE) and the Trifecta tacos. Service was pretty slow for a weeknight without a lot of customers. We don't like to just "write off" a restaurant unless it's horrible so we'll try this again sometime in the future.

    (3)
  • Dan C.

Tried the tacos. I can see how this was food cart before. Got what you'd expect from a food cart. Pretty dry, poor quality meat. Had to ask for chips and salsa, which felt really weird for a mexican restaurant. No sides came with the tacos. And the price reminded me of something at the Rose Garden, but the food wasn't any better. Maybe I'd try something else if I ever went back.

    (2)
  • Brad L.

Terrible service and the food took a long time even though we got there a bit after 4pm. Margarita's were almost all mixer. When we got the food, it was good, but it doesn't take 30 minutes to get 3 burritos. Will not be back,

    (1)
  • Dave C.

Have had dinner there twice both times the food and service was great. Had the Diablo Frita,s, super good. The bar down stairs is cool .Will definitely recommend it.

  • Hilary H.

We figured we would try this "new to us" local taco place. Apparently it used to be a taco truck, but it still kind of feels that way, the only thing different is they bring you food rather than you getting it. Food was good nothing exceptional but good. My husband had a quesadilla that was pretty tasty, lots of cheese which I love. However if I'm at a Mexican restaurant I want an authentic taste, with authentic cheese. The Oaxaca mozzarella cheese is not authentic, it taste like a taco confused if he is Mexican or Italian. Overall the service was good, wait time good, food okay. Would I come back again? If authentic Mexican cheese was an option and if we didn't have to pay for every can of soda....get a fountain machine...:)

    (3)
  • Brian O.

Give it a try! My wife got an order to go so I haven't actually been inside. The food was amazing and the price was more than fair. We will definitely be going back and hopefully I'll have time to go inside. We ordered a few different things to give them a try and everything was delicious. This is a great addition to the Gresham area!!

    (5)
  • Leah H.

Overall, pretty good place. I get a Portlandy vibe from it. Veggie burritos are tasty.

    (4)
  • Katherine S.

LOVE the downstairs bar. LOVE the Al Pastor... it's pineapple in a taco and you haven't lived until you have tried it!! I actually don't mind, but the only complaint I have heard is that chips and salsa do not come with your meal. After eating here a few times I have figured out why - you have to save room for the awesome food headed your way!

  • Anjanette L.

We came to Gresham for a dr's appointment. We were originally going to try a different place but since this happened to be close to where I parked and it is windy and cold as hell, we came here. I had the trifecta with carnitas, pollo, and adobada. My friend had the Gresham buritto. We also split the guacamole and chips. Everything was really good. I loved the guacamole and carnitas the most and she loved her burrito. The service was great and the prices are reasonable too. We'll be back.

    (4)
  • Jay T.

I absolutely love this place. Love the bowls, burritos and you can't go wrong with the trifecta. I make a point of going in numerous times a week. The service is great. They actually care about their customers and want you to enjoy your visit, and it shows. Every time I'm in. While I love the upstairs dining room, I absolutely love the downstairs bar. Great atmosphere, and 25 cent pool and free darts. Jenn makes delicious and stiff drinks. Two TV's for the sports junkies, and music usually playing. Overall, reasonably priced, great service, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Good bang for your buck. I recommend it to everyone.

  • Lake S.

My husband and I love this place. We lived in Phoenix for 6 years before moving to Gresham and we have been searching for a place with good street tacos. I have only had the tacos so far, but the burritos look really good too. The bean tacos are great...simple, but yummy. My husband loves the al pastor with pineapple. Also, they have a downstairs bar with pool and other games. I think it's a great place for downtown Gresham!

    (5)
  • Dustin J.

I absolutely LOVE the food!! The staff is friendly and works hard. My complaint is that there is only 1 server responsible for the whole restaurant. Makes things take a very long time! I have been here for lunch 3 times and it has always taken over an hour, so come on the weekend.

    (3)
  • nancy m.

We've now returned at least twice a month and the food is still awesome. The sweet potato fries made into a nacho dish are perfect for lunch. The trifecta tacos are also perfect and you get to taste all of the wonderful pork dishes this way. But my favorite is still the rice and meat bowl. We've asked for the recipes but they are an owner's secret. Darn.

    (5)
  • Jared H.

This place CANNOT BE BEAT, I seriously would eat it every day if I could, and if I didn't live 35 minutes away....And let me say, it is worth the drive to throw down the trifecta taco's! I originally started eating Uly's Mexican sensations down in Eugene, the owner is a super nice dude so everyone should eat here, support a cool guy and a local business! You won't be disappointed!

    (5)
  • Grant M.

Best Mexican hands down in Gresham and Portland! True California style Mexican food, the owner is from Northern California and has put his own spin on the cuisine. Great stop off for lunch/dinner coming back from Hood! I had the Gresham burrito and it was super good! Guacamole was amazing, they make their own tortilla chips too so I felt nice and fat when I left, just like anyone going for Mexican should feel!

  • Julie S.

So glad I discovered this place through a groupon deal! Food was FANTASTIC-this coming from a foodie who's lived and dined in NYC, Frisco, L.A., etc... (Don't judge, I'm a native Oregonian) Brought a dozen taco's back to the office and it was unanimously decided this is our new office lunch and happy hour spot!

    Amazing tacos and margaritas!

Terrible. I ordered Al Pastor and got Carnitas with chopped pineapple on top.

Took my hubby here for our Anniversary last night. WOW were we impressed. Amazing service, food and atmosphere. Since moving to Gresham we have had a hard time finding a place that was authentic and not over priced. I highly reccommed Ulys. My hubby says this is now our go to for good authentic mexican food. We will definatly be going back!!

    (5)
  • Rondi V.

We just found our new "Go To" place in East County for burritos!!! Great homemade chips & salsa (you have to try the green salsa!), and tasty tacos too. You can taste the freshness in the ingredients and the care in the preparation. Will definitely go back!

    (4)
  • Chris T.

I enjoy dining here. Their hot sauce is good, and I have never had a problem waiting for food to come out. Best burritos / tacos in all of Gresham.

    (4)
  • Riley C.

I used to go Uly's while in school at the UO in Eugene. Stoked to have the Trifecta closer to Portland! These are easily the best tacos in the Portland area.

    (5)
  • Ron C.

So happy to have an authentic and flavorful taqueria in downtown Gresham. Been in for the trifecta tacos twice now and loved them. Carnitas and Abodabo pork are fantastic. Menu prices are reasonable, service is awesome and I'm looking forward to coming in for dinner and checking out the bar downstairs soon. Beer + tacos = heaven

    (5)
  • Paul H.

The trifecta has made it to Portland! Very happy to have this close by. It's a great addition to the Gresham food scene. My advice: try everything.

  • Pat M.

Hadn't been to this location since it was the old Central Cafe, and I was very impressed. Speedy and friendly service, plus the food was fantastic (I had the 3 tacos, both chicken and pork). Looking forward to going back.

I LOVE coming to this place! Best Mexican food i have ever had, it seems very fresh and its always tasteful. This is me and my boyfriends favorite place to eat!!! If you love Mexican food than this is the place to go!! :)

  • Christopher B.

This place is so bomb. Friends and I went in there twenty minutes before closing (we didn't know) but they seated us graciously. Leilani was our server and it was the best service I've had in awhile, due in part to her awesome, easy personality. A group of 8 arrived 20 minutes before closing and a single waitress had margaritas and food coming in no time. The burritos.... WOW the burritos. It's like a 5 or 6 pound burrito. I'm not joking. Very generous portions. I got the Macho Burrito and added French fries (they put them inside the burrito) after a long, hungry day floating the river. Everything inside the burrito was very fresh-- chicken was fragrant, the black beans weren't mushy, and the guacamole was LEGIT. Go there now.

  • Nini L.

SERVICE 3.5; it was good. Super friendly. Forgot things here and there but the happy atmosphere made up for it. DRINKS 3; We ordered the classic margaritas, had lots of fresh citrus flavor. Prices were standard $6.50 for the pint size glass. FOOD 1... The portions are large but lack flavor. The best part of the meal was the chips and salsa ($2 for bottomless good deal). The food just taste like boiled meats... I had the Al Pastor bowl, but it lacked the 'pastor' flavor; looked and tasted like boiled pork belly. The beef burrito was a hefty size, but also lacked seasoning. Will return for the drinks if we're in the area, but not the food.

Found Uly's and I LOVE It! Quick and friendly service. The food is Great! I will be back just for the homemade chips!

Just found this place tonight after coming to historic downtown for 2+ years....I WAS MISSING OUT!!! Jen was amazing, food was amazing, service was so impressive, she was working the bar and serving our food. Definitely gonna find us here every Sunday in football season

Place is so random. But damn they got great burritos. Cool low key place to chill for dinner.

Really good food and drinks here. Buy the dirt-cheap chips on the appetizer menu, you won't be sorry. Always had great service and excellent food here.

Fantastic Food! Authentic taste. Well seasoned. Reasonable prices. I found this to be the best Mexican food in Gresham!

    (5)
  • Kolten L.

I was a huge fan of the tacos themselves, however, everything else was mediocre including the service. Rice was dry, beans tasted funky, guacamole lacked seasoning and was overly limey and even my water had a strange taste to it. Like I said though the tacos were very good and packed full of meat. My wife wasn't a huge fan of the tacos but that's because she prefers less meat and more veggies. The place was very understaffed but that didn't seem to bother the server and I don't mean that in a good way. Overheard her with another customer saying that they always have only one server on Sundays but implied it was good for her tips and keeps her busy. I'm sorry but if you can't keep up, your tips will go down as a percent even if your sales are higher and you will lose guests over time. The guy that came in and sat next to us sat over ten minutes before even getting a "hi". By the time she did you could tell he was frustrated. The server forgot our chips and guacamole that we had ordered. We had to remind her after we saw chips and salsa go out to a few tables that came in after us. She did end up comping it but it would have been nice to have it as an appetizer and not at the same time as the meal. Everything came out close to 30 minutes after our order was placed- long wait for a few tacos and some beans and rice. Looked like there was only one cook in the back. Overall it was alright but probably wouldn't return.

This is some seriously good Mexican food! Pick your poison, because everything these guys make is great. The service has always been fast and friendly, and of everything my family and I have had (bowls, burritos, enchiladas, and the quesadillas) has been phenomenal. Also, happy hour is a great time for more than just drinks because their food during happy hour is a serious deal!

  • Justin H.

The food and service was fantastic. I had heard from a few coworkers that this was a good spot so my girlfriend, a couple friends, and I went to check it out. We went downstairs to the bar and were immediately greeted by the staff. The bartender was super fast and we all had our drinks within less that 5 minutes of ordering. It was happy hour and I was amazed how large the portions were for a happy hour menu. I ordered the Cali burrito w/ pork carnitas and it was fantastic! It had a lot of flavor and the French fries inside were a nice touch. Everybody in my group had an amazing time and it is definitely a place I will be coming back to. Service: 5 Food: 5 Drinks: 5

It is ok. They trick you when you walk in, when they ask you if you want chips and salsa be aware they charge for this. I had the taco's which are good but way too much dry meat. Could use more veggies. Hubby had the quesadilla, he was not to happy. Also they don't give an option for refried beans just black, which again is a charge. This place is a bit spendy for Mexican food.

Went in today and ordered 2 tacos and rice & beans. Food was very good. There was a gross smell when I walked in. I eventually got used to it. I was immediately offered chips and salsa. I accepted. And ordered right away since I was on a lunch break. Then I noticed they charge for chips and salsa. Guess I'm spoiled and used to free chips and salsa a most Mexican joints. So I asked immediately to go ahead and scratch off the chips and salsa. Anyway I left there and within minutes felt sick to my stomach. I don't have a weak stomach but now its been several hours later and I still have that icky feeling. Ugh. So. I probably wouldn't be back or recommend it to anyone.

Worst service I've ever experienced and the food wasn't even that great. You had to flag the waitresses down for refills and they served us cold food.

Very good food, lots of flavor and good size portions and the price is great. The atmosphere is good and so are the servers.

Biggest. Burritos. Ever. You get a lot of food for just a bit of money. Chips and salsa and beans - good. My burrito had pineapple and pork, rice beans cheese and salsa. And it was - DELICIOUS. The service was good, friendly, and I would definitely go back. I might ask for them to go a bit lighter on the rice inside the burrito, but that is about it. Yum!

Boy Yelpers you have let me down here. All i read about were good prices and good food. I only gave three stars here because I had really good service. First gotta say been here more than once to give this review. Every time very similar experience. First and foremost the prices are not low as everyone seems to promote. Second I dont know call it trickery or just call it slight of hand. First time at a restaurant. I dont know how many restaurants I have been to where I sit down they offer Free chips and Salsa while i wait to order. Here you get hit with the $2.50 bill addition. Last time I even asked, are these free? I received a puzzled look like why would you ask that. Then he explained no they are here on the menu as if I didnt know how to read. I had already learned my lesson so, no thanks. Each time the meal seemed to take a long time to be made. Each time I was disappointed with the meal presentation as it came out and the flavor as I tasted it. Bluntly it was bland flavor and dried out or over soaked in watery sauce meat. I had Tacos, Burrito, and Enchilada. The taco 3 timer was just plain flaovrless meet with Sour cream and cheese on well filled taco shells but ones that were falling apart from the water sauce. Now the burrito maybe stands alone. It was a two hander and then some. I had to add everything to get the flavor I wanted including hot sauce. Which I find is weird that you have to ask for it and its just not on the tables especially at a self proclaimed Taco Bar. The burrito lived up to the hype. It was good It was worth it and I made two meals out of it so it was then affordable. Nothing special. No exotic flavor to make it stand out just big. Three Strikes you are out for Uly's for me. I dont know that I will be back. Its just not what the other reviews are proclaiming.

Food was awesome, and their servings are huge. Not two things that generally go together. I had the chipotle chicken quesadilla, my wife had one of the burritos. Let's keep in mind that this was listed as the regular size burrito... It was bigger than MY FACE. That made ms curious about their "Giant" burrito. Must be huge!? I love local, small eateries and this fits that for me. If you are into that, this is the place for you!

Burrito me! Oh? It comes with sweet potato fries, slow cooked pork, and pineapple and rolled together? Yes, please, I'll take that one. Pool and full bar downstairs. Diablo fries are a must if you like spicy. Large proportions...you'll be stuffed :)

The food was EXCELLENT. The service was HORRIBLE. It's really unfortunate because I am actually not a fan of Mexican food, but I'd eat this! The girl was so snotty though, I just can't give them my business.

Well this was a nice place to stop on Cinco DeMayo... Well I was kind of seeking authentic Mexican food. This is not the place for that, however they appear to have a wonderful menu I guess I would call it fusion Mexican. I had the Al Pastor tacos. They consisted of slow cooked pork marinated in pineapple juice with chunks of pineapple. the portions are stupidly large so if you're hungry this will be the place.

It has been almost a year, and it is time for an update! I believe this place has really hit its stride, and has become one of my favorite places to eat and drink in Gresham. It is off the beaten path a little, so sitting outside at their picnic tables is always a treat when it is nice out. My previous rating of 3 stars needed to be updated because of improvement in the consistency of the food, and the very much improved service, which has been top notch for many moons and deserves that correction from me. The carnitas tacos are my favorite. The meat is juicy, flavorful, and tender. I don't think I can say enough good things about the house made red and green sauce. In addition to the tacos I love that they have dips and dishes that are perfect for sharing! The diablo fries, and chips with dip are prefect for 3 or 4 people to have some munchies. Everyone that I have brought here has nothing but happy things to say about the food and drink! I found that it was recently taken off the menu, but if you are around next winter, ORDER THE RED PEPPER SOUP! I will be dreaming about this soup all summer. It is creamy and flavorful. I would add the adobada to it. This dish is perfect for a rainy day. I would order this to go, hunker down in my house under a heap of blankets, and eat this soup in all of it's melty cheesey glory. *happy sigh* And the best thing about this place, is it is awesome to have drinks here. The basement bar is ideal. There are darts, a super nintendo equipped with several of my all time favorite games, and the bartenders are AWESOME! The tequila selection is top notch, they have some tequilas that are smoother than a baby's bottom. Ask the bartender for a recommendation. They are knowledgeable and can find you one that is perfect for you, or set you up with a tequila sampler. Tequila aside, all the drinks they make here are great, featuring tall happy hour drinks, and fresh squeezed fruit juices. Come cool down here, or hunker down for something warmer during the May showers. It will not disappoint!

I sat down mid afternoon on a Thursday and ordered a Gresham burrito with chips and salsa, and a coke I was greeted with good service and a minute later I had chips & salsa and my drink.. 10 minutes later I had a fat tasty burrito in front of me.. I can't imagine what the "super large burrito" looks like! Food was great, service was great. Price was fair for a sit-down restaurant.. I think I was right around $11 for a full meal and 30 minutes of a relaxed atmosphere.. I'll definitely return!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
