I have been here a couple times while I was a student. It's your typical smaller bar/cafe place with bar stuff all over. Tables and chairs are scrunched in in front of the Windows. Leading to the restrooms was the most awesome Oregon Ducks carpets! The food is really very good. Probably the best bar food I've had. The service is, if I remember correctly, lousy at times. But over all a cool little place.

Very poor service and food took over an hour. Very disappointing that this amazing good ole college bar had gone so downhill!

Rennies, in my opinion, is the best place near campus to go on campus for drinks. It's in a perfect location, and definitely draws a crowd on Friday and Saturday nights. It's also a great spot to eat at during the day for lunch or to watch sporting events. Very chill environment, and never gets too rowdy or crowded. As for the food, the go-to for me are the chicken wings and the cheesy bacon tots. This combo will never do you wrong. They do have some other great options like burgers and sandwiches as well. As for the alcohol, it's your typical bar but you have to try their specialty alcoholic beverage, Rennie's Lemonade. Their pitcher beers are fairly cheap as well. The environment is really cool, and looks like a 2 story house. They have a balcony with seating outside, both downstairs and upstairs (food and bar upstairs as well). If you're in Eugene, and looking for a good night out, this is the place to be.

My favorite place to relax after class or meetings. They have real nice happy hour 4-7 and 10 to close. Small tap but usually a good selection, and it rotates seasonally. The food is meh but the only food you need to concern yourself with here is their famous cheesy bacon tots. You won't regret it (til the next day). The place gets pretty bumpin on Tuesdays for trivia night, which is also really fun.

  • Eric M.

I'm pretty sure they pour the weakest drinks in town!... There long Island comes from the tap and it's only one shot... Horrible survive and it's a dead environment.

Went there for Trivia Tuesday and the host was awesome. I love the banter that he had going us and the staff. Loved it. Very much a college atmosphere that night. Their tater tots were amazing...so much so that my table (of 3) had to get an additional order midway through our trivia session.

What a great place to go for a local game. I went last night for the Oregon civil war and the atmosphere was excellent! Great crowd, awesome prices and good food. The staff was quick to accommodate and the pricing was better than expected. The area was clean and well maintained. Will def stop in again for another outing. Thanks!

Best campus bar! Great bartenders and great company. Plus the perfect place to get an ice cold Hef!

The Jim Leinen Memorial Speedway greets wheelchair users on the north side of the building. The first.floor and outdoor seating areas are accesible to chairs with the exception of the gaming area, which has a large step down to it. There is no lift to the second floor. Bathhroom is old but has one very wide stall - no elevated seat, and the door doesn't like to stay closed. I've been going to Rennie's for 20 years. The owner is a friend of another friend, and he keeps consistent food, well-trained staff, and a great location. Before the University of Oregon law school was moved to its current location, this was the place for all the law students...and is still a great place to meet friends, have some great food and a drink or two. Thanks for making Rennie's so great, John!!

I met up with some friends here for lunch and the food was OKAY. It's a great place to have a beer, but don't be looking for a great meal. Thankfully the food was cheap, but I would not order my Turkey Club wrap again. Worth a try though!

They are cool. The quickest pint you can get if you're in the business school and Lillis is your home. The cheesey bacon fries are great value.

This is a campus bar. It's set up in an old house... kind of cool place. Defiantly one of the "bro" spots to hangout at the University of Oregon on a Saturday night. They do have outside fire pits with tables around them. Pretty cool place to go and chill after class. Nothing super awesome about it though.

  • Denis S.

Exactly what you'd expect from a quant college bar. Plenty of ducks memorabilia. All the regular drinks without anythings any going on. Eclectic seating and tables. Exactly what you'd expect and sometimes exactly what you want.

Rennie's is fine. The service downstairs stinks. The service upstairs is better. There are 2 reasons why I come here. First, tradition. When the law school was just across the street, Rennie's was the spot to go for an afternoon brew. Since the law school moved across campus, Villards has been the unofficial law school bar. But since Villiards is currently under construction and possibly undergoing name change, then I seem to be lost between a rock and a hard place. Second, I like the sweet potato fries! Either way, this bar is a cool place to hang out w/ friends and watch some games. Prices are fine, beers on tap are decent. The food is pretty good. Patrons are fine too.

Happy hour on a relatively sunny Friday afternoon, of course this bar would be packed. After two pitchers of Ninkasi, it is a bit difficult to remember how much each order ended up being, but an entree and two pitchers for about twenty-five bucks seems about average for an outing to a bar. Pitchers during happy hour are probably about ten bucks or a bit less considering our order of the house fish and chips was edging towards eight dollars. The bar itself is literally across the street from campus and there is usually at least one or two tables available even during the busier days. Ground floor level is typically good enough for smaller parties of four or five while upstairs is probably more suitable for larger groups. There is also outdoor seating on the roof deck, but if you are not a smoker then it would probably be ideal to avoid this area. As for the food, the house fish and chips of a red snapper dipped in cornmeal batter was a good complement to a pint glass of Ninkasi, but it was bit over seasoned for my taste. Standard fish and chips, but at least the portion was large enough to get me through two glasses of beer.

  • Chris N.

Ah, it's good to be back in town! Dropped in for lunch- the verde gardenburger (pesto and pepper jack) was excellent. Quality fries, and a great beer selection. I was introduced to Ninkasi, and wow... what a great local beer! Two pitchers later, we declared ourselves fans. Good stuff. This place is great. Two patios, two bars, a pool table... This was usually the go-to during my college years (not that long ago), and I'm glad to see that little has changed since my departure. Great place to party, but also a great restaurant during the day. Keep up the good work!

To My Annoying Roommate, It's too bad you're too hungover cause you missed out on a surprisingly pleasant brunch. Rennie's is mostly known as the chill/relaxed alternative to the rowdy Tay's as far as Campus Bars, with the nice outdoor firepit, but they actually have a pretty decent breakfast menu with long breakfast hours (almost til noon, and longer on the weekends). For the most part, it's your typical greasy bar & grill type food. But the real reason why people go here is for the laid-back vibe. It doesn't really matter, cause you never eat breakfast anyway... Yours Truly, kaibemi buks

  • Monica H.

Great setting and mood. Perfect for watching a quiet game (I'm not sure how a big one would work. They have an upstairs which was closed when I went). However, both bartenders, though nice, were extremely ignorant when it came to their beer selection. It was really irritating. BUT the food was great! Cheesy bacon tots with ranch is a heart disaster, but sooooo yummy and comforting. The bean dip felt healthier and was very delicious. The sweet potato fries are SWEET and come with maple syrup for dipping, but if you like sweet, go for it! Terrific food. Also, I'm used to $5+ beers in so cal, so paying like $3 for a domestic pint during non happy hour was a blessing!!!

  • Jando S.

Rennie's is a UO Eugene staple for good after work / after school fun with cheap drinks, good space, and an easy pub vibe. Majority of the folks are students who are probably too cheap to pay cover. Watch out, there are lines that can form at this place on weekend nights hence its worth arriving early. It's worth going for to get a table for a semi-large group and a lot of fun for holiday fun. Prices are good, as a pitcher of beer ranges between $7-14 and even an AMF is a mere $4.50.

  • Brian E.

Good old Rennie's. I am embarrassed to admit how long I've been a customer...though it's been quite a while since I was a regular. In all that time, the place itself hasn't changed much. The burgers and fries are still tasty, everything else is mostly bar food, and nothing in the place is recommended by your friendly neighborhood nutritionist. Back in the day, Rennie's was the preferred hangout of grad students and older undergrads because it was a bit quieter and less crowded than other campus places...you could have a decent conversation there, though you could also get a phone number. Today it's a little louder, the people are a little prettier...and you can still get a phone number, though for some odd reason I don't get many of them anymore. On the bright side, the beer selection has improved quite a bit. In summary, Rennie's is an above-average campus watering hole that gets an extra star from me for purely nostalgic reasons. If you are looking for haute cuisine here, you are a moron. On the other hand if you are just looking to tip back a few and scam on the opposite sex, you have come to the right place. If you are looking to bang your head (or someone else's) against the wall, you need to be at Taylor's...or maybe in another city altogether. And, if you have your panties in a bunch over the lousy service, the greasy food, or the fact that it's full of inebriated college kids, well...you probably wear granny panties and are suffering from some sort of head injury. Rennie's is a BAR, located on the UO campus - it doesn't take a graduate degree to put two and two together and arrive at a sum resembling four, does it? Try getting laid to relieve your stress and bunged-upness. Get some grub and a microbrew and sit outside upstairs on a fall evening, and marvel at how good it (still!) feels to be (somewhat) young and enjoying a night with your friends at Rennie's Landing.

Pitcher of Beer, Deluxe Nachos, and a plate of fries for $20. A nice quick spot to grab some drinks with other graduate students. Upstairs area is nice. Typical pub food with some local beer on tap.

Spent two minutes standing at the bar trying to order a drink the bartender but she was too busy flirting with a male customer. My partner and I said #*@$ it and went to a bar up the street were the service was far superior.

I came here last night with my Oregon friends. It was not as busy as i thought it was going to be. It's probably because it's still spring break for the college students so many of them are not back yet. It was a pretty cool place, low lighting and had sportscenter on the TV. It's a two story bar, but the credit card machine was not working up stairs so some of my friends had to go down stairs to get a drink. If you had cash it was nice because there was no line or people waiting so i got myself s Rennie's lemonade. It was really good. Cheaper than an Adios MF and had more booze in it. Also it was under 6 bucks so i thought that was a really good deal. I heard some of the food was good so i want to come back during the day so i can try some yummy bar food.. If you are planning to go and you are under 21, then you would have to get there before 3pm because they card you at the door. It's not a problem for me, but it's for all you kids under 21:)

We visited Rennie's two days in a row, this past Tuesday and Wednesday, and the experience could not have been more different. on Tuesday we sat upstairs and our female bartender was awesome. On Wednesday we were served downstairs by a sullen male bartender that was the rudest bar/restaurant employee i have EVER had the displeasure of dealing with. I can't believe Rennie's would employ him in ANY capacity. He was openly abusive of people who were there to watch a soccer game, and rude to everybody else. Stay away.

Who else is going to serve you a burger at midnight with cheese non the less and served by a smokin hot tattoed bar keeper? Nobody, that's who! Love Rennies. Truly a Eugene original. Highly recommended if your looking for great pub grub.

Good Beer, Fair prices, a bit too much frat life going on usually, but hey if your that age, this place is great.

  • Lothar M.

Rennie's Landing is often busy and (very) loud, but does some of the best pub grub in town (and definitely around campus). I love their fries and burgers, particularly the Cajun Burger, as well as their wicked pulled pork sandwich (with slaw on it!). Also not too pricey.

Great bar close to campus. This place is great. The Hef is amazing and super tasty, and what better place to come watch my Lakers beat up on the Trailblazers. I was definitely in the minority on that one though... Anyways - great bar, great location, great prices.

  • Hannah S.

I love Rennie's! Maybe this is college nostalgia shining through...Whatever. Rennie's is the classic college bar. A block away from the University of Oregon, it is always packed on weekends. The bar is in an old house, and has an upstairs terrace perfect for a pitcher of Hef with lemon on hot summer evenings. And definitely forget about your diet for some fries with ranch dressing. It's the perfect greasy bar food with an icy drink. Thursday-Saturday nights Rennie's is full of college students, and as we all know, college kids can get pretty rowdy. Luckily, out of the two main campus bars, Rennie's is the less frat/sorority heavy destination; you'll find the journalism and other random majors getting wasted here. Head to Taylor's down the street if you want drunk frat guys and fights. Bartenders are generally friendly and make generous drinks; designated drivers get free soda. A pool table keeps things entertaining downstairs, and numerous TV screen broadcast Duck games and other sports events. Stop by Rennie's for lunch or breakfast if you're not into the college drinking scene. They have amazing homemade soups every day - my favorite is the black bean. During the World Cup they opened early for games, and the patio was always crowded with soccer fans noshing on pancakes and hashbrowns. Everything is reasonably priced, the atmosphere is fun, and the food and drinks are great. Ohhhh, now I'm homesick!

wow, luv this place. Always comfortable, close to UofO, can walk there from Knight Arena, the EMU, Hayward Field. Luv cheesy bacon fries and buffalo burgers. The wings are outta sight. No hassles in this place and lots of outside deck to hang out. happy hour keeps happening when I'm there, I can't keep track. Had breakfast there a few times, a plate of good food for cheep. Kinda quiet during the day, but look out at night. Sometimes the service is slow, but it can get real busy. Free pool on Sunday!!! Did I tell you about the wings? Its the wingin-est Duck bar around. Go Ducks

Best salads, BEST fish and chips... Great staff! Shitty, shitty clientele, but what can you do?

  • Jinxy M.

Between here and Taylor's, I have to say Rennies is much better. I prefer going during the day and catching a ball game, havin a burger, and relaxing on the patio. Rennies has a more diverse selection of beer than Taylor's, and the setup makes for a more crowded feeling. I'll come back during the day for happy hour on a summer evening, but will try to avoid degrading my nightlife by coming back after the sun goes down.

The beer selection on tap is good, food is great, crowd of people..interesting. Nice outside seating when the rain has stopped! Their lemonade is wonderful as well as their burgers. Close to campus when you only have an hour for lunch and a beer, ha!

I am a fan of this place only because my friends were a fan of this place. It's a good spot to drink with friends, and the bar staff is personable. Good place to meet people or run into acquaintances.

Can I tell ya this? I love Rennie's. I also miss Rennie's. The downstairs patio is my favorite place in the world to sit with a book and a beer on a Saturday afternoon and just see who I run into. I've had some of the best conversations around that little gas fire outside with people I've never seen before in my life. The staff there is fantastic, the beer selection is always great, and the food is invariably better than you expect. Plus it's right on campus. The only bad thing that's ever happened to me there was the stupid evil devil squirrel (yes, I know, all squirrels are stupid evil devil squirrels) who kept throwing acorns at my head one afternoon. But he was technically in the tree next to Rennie's, so I don't really blame them.

I'm a UO alumni and occasionally go back to Eugene for football games. In the past year, I've stopped by my old watering hole, Rennie's. While it is laid back, like some of the reviews say, I think it's too laid back...like the waiters and bartenders don't even care. Service was horrible all 3 times I've been over the past year. This last time, we stopped in for breakfast and were literally disrespected by the bartender. I also overheard her discourage people just entering to try someplace else because they were busy. That's just bad. It wasn't even that busy. After 10 minutes, we put our order in and 45 minutes later, we still had no food. I had asked twice if she could check on the food and she barked back at me like I was being a jerk for asking. Then, another server or bartender asked us what we were upset about and I told him our story. He went back to the kitchen and came back with bad news that the kitchen never saw our ticket. The night before, we stopped in for a beer before the game. Poor service as well and there really wasn't that many people in there. I'm sure the college kids don't care but this alumni with plenty of disposable income will not be going back to Rennies.

Rennie's is my favorite campus-area haunt. They have a good selection of beers on tap, good food, and are pretty quick and friendly. It gets pretty busy at night (read: filled to the brim with sorority/fraternity types) so if that's not your scene, hang out here during the day! (Beer with lunch never killed anyone, you know...) Try their cheesy fries if you're looking for a calorically devastating yet delicious accompaniment to your hefeweisen...

  • Veronica W.

This place fucking rocks. I remember my friend took me here at 3 in the afternoon and we quickly called a bunch of people to partake in our pitcher. I have no idea how many pitchers we went through, all I know it that I was fairly toasted and had a great time. The upstairs patio is the place to be...for me, at least. They have a lot of good beers on tap, which is always nice to see (I have, unfortunately, experienced many a bar where the choices on draft were limited, mostly due to the shit beer taking up most of the taps). The bartenders are fairly nice and the price is always good. Plus, the location is fabulous; across the street is UO and down the block is the bookstore. Stumbling to class? Not a problem. (Just kidding)

This is the best bar in town. The best cheesy bacon fries you'll ever have, and the rest of the menu is good too. Great atmosphere on the weekends. The perfect place to hangout whenever.

  • D S.

Still a campus great! Rennies has an incredibly welcoming staff that promotes a casual and comfortable atmosphere. If you are coming to Eugene for a game, this is the place to go afterward for drinks and maybe some bar food (strips and fries!) with friends. A patio AND a deck, two bars, and lots of indoor and outdoor seating make this a great place for groups. The Bean Ball and Rennie's lemonade are always winning drinks, and the Dragonfly and Tick Tack Shots are deeeelicious as well.

The fries were undercooked, the cheeseburger was cold and the Pepsi was flat. It was hot and stuffy inside because they weren't running the AC. The waitress (Holly) managed to put my food on the table without looking at me or saying a thing to me, which I was pretty impressed with. I thought she was going back to get my ketchup, but I was wrong so I ended up going up to the bar to get my own. Guess most people there eat burgers and fries without ketchup. About 15 minutes into the meal I was really craving some more flat Pepsi, but the waitress wouldn't stop at my table. This is the first place in about 10 years that I've left without giving a tip, even after the cashier gave me 10 one dollar bills for my $10 in change. I was tempted to just dine and dash. It was that bad. Holly, you suck at your job.

Rennie's to me was a part of my college life. Awesome place to have a beer and a shouted conversation about Kierkegaard.

  • Toby T.

Rennie's is, hands down, my favorite campus bar. It always feels like I'm in an episode of Cheers when I arrive. During my college days, I knew all the bartenders, which really made my Rennie's experience more enjoyable. The food is good, the drinks are better, and everyone there is just having a good time. Whenever I head back down to Eugene, Rennie's is always the first choice bar to go to.

This was my go-to bar during my senior year of college, and it was awesome. Friendly bartenders, good drinks and great food. Cheesy bacon fries are a must.

    (5)
  • Carrie A.

Rennie's is a college bar with pretty much everything that implies -- noisy atmosphere, obnoxious undergrads, generic menu of burgers and mozzarella sticks. The prices aren't terrible, I guess, but I never really feel like I'm getting a deal. And why does the service have to be SO bad? The employees act like they're doing me a favor by allowing me to give them my money.

  • Kissie D.

Between Taylor's and Max's, this falls smack dab in the middle - Max's being the top, Taylor's being the bottom. It's a fun bar to go to and has lots of seating, but that doesn't always mean you will get seats. Tables are hard to come by - but I guess that's true with most bars. The food is okay - the best thing on the menu for lunch/dinner is the Chicken Quesadilla. The breakfast food is okay too. Anyway, the main reason I liked this bar is because of the crowd that would go there. I liked the type of people at Rennie's better than some of the other bars in town. Although it would get crowded, it was never impossible to get a drink - there are two bars, upstairs and down, so you can try your luck at either one. Also, the music isn't obnoxious - which is important! It's the most fun bar to go to after a big football game -- when visiting Eugene, Rennie's was the first place we wanted to go after the game. If you get there early, you can stake your claim in a table and let the night go on from there! Fun bar, good atmosphere, nice people, and good music!

    (4)
  • Blaze W.

Best campus bar near the UO! The staff is nice and it doesn't get too packed like other bars nearby. Way better than Taylor's or max's where the bartenders don't know how to treat others. Seriously though, if you want to be treated like a human being go here. The staff is super rude everywhere else.

Rennnies.... come on. Your food isn't very good. Atmosphere is okay. And you just refused me entry into your bar because I left my wallet in the car. I'm IN MY THIRTIES.

  • Kenzi J.

Rennies sucks. A friend at our table ordered some tea, and was served cold water from the tap. When she asked the waitress to get her new water, the waitress snagged the water out of her hand, and then said fuck you. I have heard several of the waitresses say fuck you. The serving staff does not respect the customers. It took them am hour to get our food to us, and even then the food was just ok. I would never come here again.

Nachos: Rennie's nachos are maybe just average. They don't have meat in them, which is the main problem. That makes them kind of dry. I don't know any other place around campus unfortunately to get nachos, so Rennie's it is. Atmosphere: Not bad for a bar, I like the division into two floors, and the outdoor areas. They have some old photos and memorabilia on the wall that mark them as a "Ducks bar". The place has character. Service: Usually okay, but last time we went it sucked. We couldn't get the waitress to get us any refills, and we had to eventually go up to her to get the check. And there was hardly anybody there! It was a late lunch on a summer day when school was out. I don't get what else the waitress was doing.

    (3)
  • Chelsie C.

Rennies is the worst campus bar you can go to. Only good thing is that it's normally not very crowded like the other bars. I've been to Rennies roughly ten to fifteen times. If you want any type of decent service, go anywhere but rennies. I've gotten yelled at, told that they couldn't fix my order because the employee was sure I ordered something else, told to fuck off and that I wouldn't get my money back. At night the staff gets drunk off of the bars alcohol and the male employees can't control their anger when they are told that they messed up your order. I've waited outside during the day time for someone to help me for 30 minutes before I had to go in and ask for someone to help me out, even after they saw me walk in and told me they would be out to take my order shortly. If you want service, stay far away from Rennies. If you want somewhere to get drunk with your friends then it's a decent place. The food is pretty good too but not worth how horrible the service is sometimes.

In all objectivity, this isn't the greatest dining establishment or even drinking hole for that matter. But since I spent four years living on or near the U of O campus and that this was the first bar I went to upon being "of age" I'm not exactly objective now am I?! Next to the UofO Bookstore and across the street from Lillis you'll find Rennie's. It's been around since the early 80's and if you haven't gotten drunk at least 4 times here before leaving school there's something seriously wrong with you. However, my most recent trip was not to get inebriated. I wanted lunch. I got a Rennie Burger, plain. It's basically a chesseburget with bacon. Hits the spot and comes with fries. I got a Labatt's beer since they don't have Molson... but they do have a fairly good selection which includes Oregon microbrews. Service isn't the best. We waited what seemed to be at least 20 minutes after we finished eating (more like a half-hour) before anyone brought us our beer. It was the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday and not even close to crowded so we're not sure what the delay was. Rennie's gets four stars because it's part of my heritage. If I was just a random dude passing through it would probably get three. Basically it's your average college bar that also serves food.

    (4)
  • Mat R.

I'll cosign on the cheesy bacon fries if you're in the mood to indulge. The place can get dead around the breaks when the kids are home, but that's just the case with any nightlife establishment in Eugene. The drinks here are good, and the Rennie's Lemonade is one of the first drinks I was served when I came here on the 21st birthday. The beers are cheap, and there are two patios to hang out on. This is a place I'll also go back to when ever I am in town.

Went with friends to Rennies Landing. Worst service I have had to endure in along time. Waitress didn't bring us silverware or check, or check on us in anyway. She actually got mad that she had to interupt her break to bring us our bill after we had been standing around for 15min waiting to pay. They had a new item, sparking wine in individual servings. I have never paid more than $6 to $7 any other place in town. They guessed they should charge $10 since you get slightly more than an average glass of wine. Avoid eating -- at Rennie's Landing.

Rennie's is a great convenient location for business students. The general age group here ranges from a few undergrads, to mainly graduates and older people during the day. On Wednesday to Saturday expect to see the regular college scene. I truly adore Rennie's for their happy hour prices on micro-brews. $7 for a pitcher of micro-brew is hard too beat. Cheesy bacon fries are my late night vice. Drool.

Rennie's is definately my favorite, for lack of a better term, "on campus" bar. It's not impossible to grab a seat at the bar, and there's no annoying dancefloor/DJ combo. But then reality sets in: I'm paying at least $3.50 for a pint of Budweiser. It hurts that much more since I'm in a college town, and we coulda been playing beer pong somewhere and all pitched in on a 30-pack for $5 each or something.

I go here for the company, not the bar or food. Their burgers don't taste like anything, not even beef! It's eating different textures of bland and blah. It's rated highly because it's the only other campus bar. Everyone goes there! It doesn't matter that their food sucks and their drinks are weak and watered down. It's a place to grab a pitcher to share amongst friends and talk, but that's pretty much what every bar offers anyway. The nicest thing Rennie's has are the bartenders and wait service, they're polite and cool. Rennie's holds a lot of fond memories, but again it's the people that make the place for me, not the food and drink.

Standard bar in Eugene. Located right off UofO's campus, the main clientele are students. Usually pretty busy, pretty good patio seating and Rennie's Lemonade is cheap and will get you buzzed quick. Also, get the Cheesy Bacon fries. Mmmmmmm....excellent.

Rennie's is your basic campus bar with pool, karaoke, and big flat screen sports TVs. The food is standard bar fare. Wings, fries, chicken strips, fried shrimp. All pretty much average. You're not going to come here for the food, but its not bad, just a bit greasy. Come here to relax and throw back a few beers while watching the game, it's a watering hole not a first date kind of place.
