A new pizza place has opened in Edmond. It is an old name unheard for a while in these parts. Ken's Pizza now on Danforth near Kelly The dining room harkens back to years past and is like stepping back in time. The pizza is as my dim memory recalls. The buttery crust of the deep dish pie I ordered wast pleasantly sweet and had a satisfying texture with crispy edges and pillowy interior. The toppings were of beef and bacon I chose were delightfully meaty. The cheese locked the toppings in its blanket of melted creaminess. The prices are affordable if not cheap reflecting on the value of the food compared to cheaper offerings of more advertised chains.

This is a fairly new location, and we were pleased to see Ken's Pizza return to the Edmond area. Three of us dined together: me, my wife, and my adult daughter. We were there for supper on Monday, 03-Nov-2014 at approximately 5:30 PM. The property inside and out is warm and inviting. We were greeted promptly as we entered and offered the opportunity to sit wherever we would like. The delicious aroma that surrounded us confirmed that we were in for a treat. Three things stood out from our visit. First, our server Darian R. was prompt, courteous, and most helpful. She made us feel welcome and appreciated. Menus, drinks, plates/flatware/napkins, our food order, drink refills, and our check were all delivered at precisely the right time. At every turn, Darian expertly managed our dining experience. Clearly, this young lady takes pride in her work -- something sorely lacking in so many these days. I've no doubt Darian will go far in this world. Serving at Ken's Pizza is but a stepping stone for this smart young lady. Second, the pizza was a welcome departure from the standard fare of other pies in the area. We ordered a large home style pizza with pepperoni and Italian sausage. It arrived quickly, and the presentation was picture perfect. We really appreciated the smaller slices. It was a 5 or 6 cut rather than the standard 4 cut (eight large slices). Not only are the smaller slices easier to handle, it makes you slow down and think about how much you are consuming. We took home about a quarter of the pizza because we were satiated before the whole pie was gone. The crust is flavorful, and not a crumb was left on our plates. (We usually leave "pizza bones", but not here.) The sauce is slightly less sweet and slightly more spicy than most. Again, this made the pizza at Ken's more rich and flavorful than others in the area. The Italian sausage and pepperoni were fresh, and the cheese was perfect. Third, they really knocked it out of the park with their sweet tea. So many establishments do a poor job on their sweet tea but not here. Whoever prepared the sweet tea that evening really knew what they were doing. My tea was full-bodied without being overdone and had just the right amount of sweetness. It was the perfect complement to our outstanding meal and service experience. As we were leaving, our conversation centered on Ken's being our new go-to place for pizza in Edmond, OK. I've no explanation for the sharp contrast between our experience and the two previous Yelp reviews. It makes me wonder if they ate at the same restaurant we did, or perhaps they have some sort of ax to grind. (Shills for the competition, genuinely miserable people, etc.) No idea. All I know is we loved the food and the service. We have no connection to Ken's personally or professionally other than living in the same town and enjoying pizza for dinner.

Saw a new place, decided to check it out with some friends when the evening hunger cravings kicked in. That was a mistake. There were very few people in the dining area, and our order was taken promptly, but then we were forgot about. We had to inquire, and were told they had to retake our order because it was lost. Hmmm. We wait some more, the pasta dishes appeared, but no pizza. We waited some more, and lo, the pizza, at length, arrived. The Pizza: greasy, greasy, greasy. We were not fans of the crust, either. The sauce was good and tasted house-made. The cheese tastes previously frozen-y. The spaghetti and sauce were pretty decent, albeit stretching the limits of al dente and on into raw territory. The check was incorrect. It took some discussion to get it corrected-not exactly a friendly vibe. Later we all had tummy aches.

We stopped by sat evening for quick pizza and salad. I was totally underwhelmed my kids lemonade was completely watered down and the tea was extremely light as well. There was only one other patron in the entire building, so that should have alerted me to some degree. As far as the pizza it was served in a timely fashion, however the topping where cut down to the size of rice for the vegetables and small beans for the meat......looks like they are in survival mode, shouldn't be open much longer now at this rate. Did see several cars in drive thru though!

My husband and I have been to the Edmond location numerous times. Our last was 4/14/15 appx 8:00 p.m. You should know there are only a hand full of fast food places we eat at do to the quality of the food. There was no veggie pizza on the buffet. I inquired and not only was I greeted with a smile she asked me what I would like on it! I trolled the salad bar, (that has always been fresh, stocked, and clean! ) while I waited. Our Waitress was very friendly and fun. My pizza arrived just as I finished my salad. It was a thin crust veggie delight! The best part ...great fresh food and I didn't have to cook! Thanks to each of you for a nice meal after a heck of a day!

Horrible. Server didn't know anything about anything on the menu. Food came out cold - we were the only table in there so who knows what happened. Way over priced. Will not be back.

Tried Ken's for the first time tonight. The restaurant was largely deserted at 6p, and the entryway floor was sprinkled with broken candies from the vending machines near the door. The manager was having a heated telephone conversation with a (presumably) disgruntled customer. After waiting at least 10 minutes for the waitress to take out order, my wife and I got salads (perfectly adequate), and sat back down to wait for our pizzas to arrive. After waiting 40+ minutes for our food, the waitress apologetically informed us that out order had been lost. To their credit, they offered to make us up-sized pizzas, as well as a gift card. We declined both, and will not be returning. Given our experience, the other reviews, and the fact that the restaurant was essentially empty at dinner time, I'd say this place's days are numbered.

Went here for lunch with a co-worker. The clerk at the counter asked if we would like the buffet. I did order the buffet and paid with a credit card. He gave us a receipt which had a place designated to leave a tip, and asked me to sign it. Then told me to place it on the table wherever we chose to sit. We did not receive drinks so I asked. He said the waitress would bring them to us after we sat down. We went to the buffet, the pizza appeared to have been there for a long time and the plates were dirty. After finally finding a clean plate we found our table and ate. As we were ready to leave I asked the waiter for a to-go drink and a pen in order to fill out the tip portion of the receipt. He handed me a pen and walked away and never returned. I decided to get my own to-go drink and while I was at the servers drink station the waitress made direct eye contact with me and completely ignored me. I'm more than disappointed. I will not be back.

In short, nice clean store, friendly customer service that's on point, good quality pizza, ridiculously affordable. ---- I have been eating at Ken's pizza for years in my home town so you can imagine my excitement having found out that kens has moved into the metro. A friend and I ate there for lunch on their buffet which was excellent. The store is clean and comfortable and the customer service was fantastic. As soon as we arrived we were instantly greeted and received our drinks which were refilled continually through the visit. The buffet had everything from 5 to 6 different pizzas followed by pasta, bread sticks (savory and cinnamon sweet), and a fully stocked salad bar with 7 different dressings, multiple toppings and fresh mixed lettuce. The best part about kens pizza is their successful execution of the 'Morris coefficient' which is the ratio of (sauce) to (cheese x crust) which was as good as always. Their pizza is high quality with good ingredients and great flavor. This is a classic Oklahoma pizza joint that is consistent from store to store and this location doesn't disappoint. Lastly, we were offered to-go drinks which not many buffet places do anymore and glad kens have kept that up! Unsure as to the disgruntled customers below as their report is not consistent with my visit today.
