Having to find new ways to fit into Oklahoma culture I've acquired a taste for fried chicken. Roy's fried chicken has become a new small joy in my life. Like dessert? They have apple cobbler. What more could I ask for, Peach cobbler you say? Yup,they have it too, but only on Wednesday's.

Fortunately, I haven't created a Check-In for every visit. People might get the wrong idea about how much I love Fried Chicken. Okay, I absolutely love Fried Chicken, if it is done right and the truth is, so few actually get it right. Roy's is the one place in the Tulsa Area, worth the drive to Coweta, that gets Fried Chicken right. We normally just order the Chicken Chunks and Potato Wedges in pieces. Roy's is a Broaster that knows just how to use this wonderful deep frying appliance. When done properly, Broasted Potato Wedges and Chicken Breast pieces, sliced fresh and hand breaded, are a true favorite. Skip the Muskogee Turnpike and take a trip down, or up, the old Hwy 51, it will be well worth it.

Our go to place in Cow Town (Coweta Okla.). Best chicken chunks in the area. Undoubtedly the best cole slaw on the planet. A small town classic and a locale favorite. Don't think I'm right, watch the drive thru at 5-6:30pm everyday. A shout goes up when mom and dad bring Roy's home.

Had take out from there first time this weekend. Very busy yet fast service. Order taker helpful on quantity for 10 people. Chicken was very tasty, reminiscent of what your mother (hopefully) used to fry. Nice seasoning, a little greasy and perfectly cooked. Potatoes tasted instant and with commercial gravy, tasted like paste...just like other fast food chicken places. If fresh potatoes were served (and at over $3/ pint they should have been!), at least one more star would be deserved. Rolls were from a commercial package and not home made. I understand the commercial potatoes and rolls with their high volume, but their higher prices for chicken should deserve home made sides.

Food was okay... mainly bland. The place was clean and the staff was friendly but I will stick with all the Charlies Chicken places when I want chicken. Chunks were super small and looked seasoned but had no flavor... At least it was hot.
