I haven't had flautas so tasty since I left California. Love this place. Hostess Aven was spunky and sweet. Michaela our waitress was attentive and very helpful in food suggestions. I have been here 6 times and have yet to have anything to complain about.

"Big, simple, and sloppy." That pretty much sums up my feelings about our takeout order. My husband and I heard about Queso's when it was at its old location on Harper Road. From what we heard, it was overpriced, so-so food, and bad service. However, after seeing the amount of business at the new spot, we decided to try it out for ourselves. **Please note: This review -- including photos -- are based off a to-go order. ** The number on the website must be old because it rang and rang. When I was able to speak to someone, she was nice and took my order. Another plus is that the food didn't take long to make on a Saturday. We ordered a kids burrito for my son that looked extremely lackluster, to say the least (photo below). I don't know if someone was rushing, but a happy meal from McDonald's probably would've been the way to go. He barely ate it, and he is a gluton like his daddy. I ordered the steak ranchero (photo below) well done. What I got was the pinkest piece of meat in the middle. Some folks are cool with medium rare, but I personally don't want to chance a tango with the toilet. I will say the flavor was very tasty (had to nuke it). My sides were mexican corn and rice which were very small. My husband ordered the big hombre that was HUGE. Given he enjoys sloppy eats he can spread around his plate, he was all smiles. He did say they loaded it with enough chicken for three burritos, so no complaints there. They also gave us like a pound of soft tortillas, and tortilla chips with a ton of salsa and queso. For close to a $40 meal, I think I could've spent my money elsewhere. There were some hits, but quite a few misses to make me not want to try this again anytime soon. Then again, the food might be better if you're a dine-in patron, or if you enjoy one too many cervezas (tend not to care what you put in your mouth, as long as it's filling). I married into a Latino family and think one -- maybe two might like this spot.

We've eaten here a few times now, it's been good every single time. We love to come eat here, the waitstaff has been friendly every time, the manager has come by to check on us and is always around making sure things go smoothly, and the bartender is the bomb. Seriously, the bomb. Best.drinks.ever.

Not a fan. The tea tasted off, the food was not particularly good, and our waitress even admitted that all the tortillas come from a package :(

Average & Expensive - and they money grub on every little thing There is just something about restaurants these days within this economy where I'm becoming more and more sensitive about the quality & price. I really want a good experience whenever I treat myself out to a meal. And, I don't want to feel as though I'm adding to the widening of a profit margin for the owners or see that they are sacrificing the quality in order to make a profit. I'm especially irritated whenever a place charges me a premium for routine items that come out mediocre. This has been my experience eating at Queso's. Here is what I've eaten: * You aren't leaving this place for less than $30 buh, they will make sure of it. $23.99 for a small portion of mediocre fajitas for 2, chuhhh ching! Do you want Cheese or Guacamole? (one or the other)? I said that I wanted "both" and heard the cash register again (chuh ching!) for another $1.69. Yeah, they upcharged me, for a grand total of $25.68 for a small portion of mediocre fajitas. Ouch! $8.95 for very mediocre quesadillas (cheddar cheese & meat only). They were flat and oily yellow, mostly a thin layer of cheese with very little meat, barely toasted at all. It may have been hard to get a good toasting because of all the butter. Hard to believe that they actually gave me the guacamole, sour cream & pico for free. But, of course they did remember to give me a very small portion of each. I definitely felt the sacrifice in quality for a profit on these quesadillas. $8.95 for 2 small cheap cheese enchiladas, rice & beans (advertised special). They spread out the beans and rice to make it look like there is more...lol. They were ugh. I'm convinced that the entire plate cost the owner less than $1 to make it. They should call this one the "Profit Margin Special". $2.99 for a small bowl of the "special" salsa, with half a sliced avocado. I actually liked the salsa, it was tasty (like me). Good Job. But, $3 buh for a small bowl of salsa? Salsa is supposed to make me want to come back, not make me dig deeper into my wallet. $2.29 for a "regular" sized glass of iced tea - everyone is doing this now but still doesn't make it any less of a crime. However, most places that charge a high price for drinks will at least give you a huge glass to pretend like you aren't being ripped off. Most places will usually ask if you want a to-go tea. At Queso's? Naw, they don't care, give 'em the money (chuh ching!) and hope for a refill. $1.69 for a small scoop of mediocre guacamole in the small salsa cup, filled mostly with lettuce. Would you like a Sopapilla for dessert? Hmmm? Maybe? Yes? .50 cents The Sopapilla is one last (chuh ching!) insult they hit you with right before you leave. Wait Staff is the typical High School kids, some are friendly others are scowling at you because you asked for a refill. Several times I've had to get up and go find the waitress or get something that I wanted for myself (in a very small restaurant). I've never seen the owner or anyone above the age of 18 walking around this place. It's as if they do not care or have time to come out and check on the customers. I feel like I've been money grubbed every time I've eaten here with the small portions of mediocre food at a high price. I'm not coming back...

Food was cold. Sent back one meal and came back semi warm. For the price I would not go to this location for Mexican food. This was our first and last visit to this restaurant.

Good food, small place. Flour tortillas made fresh seconds before being brought to table.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
