Well I haven't had their pizza but I just made a pre-order thru Yelp for a customer of mine and I was very impressed. The manager called me to confirm my order and thank me for the business. He shared with me the effort they take to make good quality food and use fresh ingredients. I am very impressed with this business.

Glad so many others love it, but it's just not for me. I've tried the pizza several times now, and just don't care for it. It's decent, but not great. There are several better options (In my opinion) in Toledo. The staff is fantastic and very friendly, and I always got the pie quickly, it's just not to my taste standards. That's the beauty of pizza though, one man's treasure is another man's "meh," and vice versa. I wish them well, but I'll be eating elsewhere in the future. (WIsh I could give a half star here, definitely worth a "50 %" rating on service alone.)

We ordered a large meat lover's for pickup based on favorable reviews from this app. Upon entering the establishment we noticed filthy, buckled carpeting that made us question the cleanliness of the place. There were nasty ceiling tiles above the front counter and we were greeted by a man in a sweat soaked t-shirt literally wiping dripping sweat off his face. Gross! I hope that didn't drip on our pizza! He handed my husband a pen to sign the credit card slip with dough & cheese all over his hands. The a/c must have been broken since it was 1000* in there so we waited out front where I noticed tons of dead bugs smashed between the interior of their front windows & their advertising boards. The pizza was just ok. The crust is thin but chewy. I couldn't really taste the sauce at all and the meat didn't have much flavor; it kind of tasted like ground hamburger. The meat was chopped so small it was difficult to tell exactly what it was. The cheese was minimal at best. The quality of the pie & more importantly the cleanliness of the place were enough for this to be our first & last visit.

Its,easy to taste that this place takes their time and appreciates their patrons. The pizza was wonderful and it wasn't heavy and greasy. It tasted fresh. I love the Mediterranean pizza! Love the pesto sauce. It's a great small place and I definately recommend it to everyone that wants great pizza! I haven't tried their loaded chicken yet so I think that will be next! Thank you Rivals!

Wow. I have a hard time believing someone could post a bad review for a pizza joint without even mentioning the pizza. BUT ANYHOW, Rival's Pizza is a hidden gem, and it might just be the best pie in West Toledo. The sauce is fantastic; the sauce, in my opinion, really "makes" the pizza. It has a full bodied flavor, and is tangy without being overly sweet. The crust is hand tossed and of medium thickness. It's soft, chewy and fold-able. Excellent stuff. The cheese is plentiful and perfectly cooked. Not too greasy. Toppings: They have plenty, but I usually stick with pepperoni and jalapeno (or banana peppers, or green peppers). Always fresh and well cooked. Service: Awesome. Rather than making me wait 45 minutes for the 6 orders ahead of me, the cook whipped together my small pepperoni/jalapeno and threw it in the oven with a larger order. My pizza was done in about 10 minutes. The other customers' wait times were not adversely affected, and mine was dramatically improved. Very thoughtful. He earned himself a nice tip. When I eat pizza from Rival's, I always think: "I really ought to eat here more often." From now on, I will.

Solid pizza for a great price. Sometimes the wait is long but its worth it. Huge menu with a little bit of everything. I had the pan pizza and it was tasty and very filling. The southwestern salad is also a favorite of mine, Huge portion for only $6. Delivery is cheap only $1.50.

We love Rivals. This isn't the worlds best pizza, but it's great for Toledo which I consider to have a lot of pizza options but 75% of the pizza here sucks. Growing up in NY I have high expectations for Pizza, don't expect NY style. This is classic mid-west style pizza. My favorite thing to order is the Stromboli, it's awesome. Their prices are excellent and they always run special offers if you follow them on Facebook. The thing that sets Rivals apart is their service, they are honestly very nice people. You'll never have to worry about them sabotaging your order/food here. Anytime it's been late or taken a while they've always made it up to me. I would definitely recommend you try Rivals, it's a nice change from Marcos and IMO 10x better than Vito's nasty grease mess. I give them 5 stars because they strike a great balance of excellent service, flavor and price. This is not going to be the best pizza you've ever eaten, it is however the best pizza you've ever eaten for the price and with the best service on top of it. UPDATE: The last time I went in I placed my order to go and sat at a table with my wife to wait. After a few minutes one of the guys working (maybe the owner?) Brought us out a Chicken Quesadilla to try. We didn't order it, we didn't buy it, he just brought it out to us to try. It's this kind of service that really sets Rivals apart. Not only was the quesadilla delicious Rivals is a glimmering example of personalized service that's been so lost in Corporate America. Seriously, a lot of businesses could take some pointers from these guys.

Tried out the pizza here with an Entertainment book 50% coupon. This place is located where the original Elbo Room Pizza was located in the 60's. The pizza was tasty, and you could tell it was prepared by people who took the time to do it correctly, and not some process of slinging ready made toppings, all over the place, and hoping some lands on the pizza, like some chains do it. The proprietor was very friendly, and when I asked about the history of the place we ended up taking about several other Toledo pizza places. Clearly, the guy loves pizza, and the love comes through in his product. Great local establishment, doing what they do with care. I'll be back. The pizza is what I would call New York style- relatively thin crust, but soft and chewy rather than crispy. Ample toppings, and just the right amount of cheese. I could have ordered crust toppings, but I forgot. Next time!

Went to Rival's after buying a $20 gift certificate on JB Dollar Stretcher for $10. Pizza was pretty good - Not the best pizza that I have ever had, but not the worst either. If I lived in the area, I would get this pizza from time to time. Had a supreme pizza that had a boatload of toppings, some boneless wings that were mild, but were pretty hot for "mild" (comparable to a BW3s medium sauce) and some cheesey bread - which was nothing more than cheese and crust with a side of sauce. Got 2 mini cheese pizzas for a total of $15, including the $10 to JB Dollar and then $5 difference at the shop. Nice change from Marcos, Dominos, and Vitos - especially when there is a $10 off coupon involved.

Always looking to try out new places, I drove across town to try Rival's and was not disappointed. Their pizza has a light and chewy dough that is very tasty. The main style is hand-tossed, and it leans towards the thin variety. A number of crust toppers are available. I tried the parmesan and it went well with the pizza. I liked that the cheese was not piled on too thick, like some places. The cheesebread was also very good with a nice balance of cheese and garlic flavor, although the accompanying pizza sauce was a little watery. The soft taco I tried was not bad for a pizza place, and the wings were okay... they stayed piping hot the whole way home, and the sauce was good, but the chicken itself was kind of bland and might have benefitted from soaking in saltwater or some kind of seasoning. I will definitely go back for the pizza and cheesebread.

the sheer amount of variety on the menu makes this place one of the area's hidden gems. jeremy runs this place the right way. and the deals they have are very hard to beat. he's always willing to modify things on the menu as you ask. pure class. great spot to eat, chicken wings are awesome when they're cooked right
