I'm here visiting Toledo for work. Their garlic lentil soup is AMAZING. Staff is really helpful and friendly and prices are great. I'll be coming in again before I leave.

While exploring various downtown restaurants last week, a friend and I met at Rayna's for lunch. Arriving at 11:30am, we were some of the first patrons in the restaurant and were immediately shown to a table. Our waitress looked, shall we say, very casual, but she was both very friendly when taking our drink orders, and very patient while waiting for us to decide what food we wanted. Between my entrée, a soda, and an extra side of hummus, my bill with tax came to $11.50, which felt very reasonable for downtown. The décor in the restaurant was kind of dated, with that "divey mom and pop restaurant from 1988" kind of feel, but we liked the camels sprinkled around the place. Even though we arrived well before the lunch rush, we were still pleasantly surprised at how quickly our orders arrived. The food itself tasted fantastic, and my friend and I were both pleased by the portion sizes. As others have noted, the hummus was exceptionally good! The waitress also did a very good job of bringing us drink refills. Overall I rate Rayna's as being Very Good, and will definitely come back!

As a frequent visitor for this downtown restaurant, I had to post a review. I love the Egyptian Lentil Soup, Lemon Oregano Chicken with rice and a mini salad, Baked Kafta, Kafta Burger and fries, Hummus, Chicken Kabob Platter and just about anything on the menu. There are very few items I haven't tried. They also make great salads! If you have a chance and are in the downtown area during lunch time on weekdays - you gotta stop in. They have limited hours and are closed weekends and evenings.

My first impression on walking in here was mixed. I thought.that it looked dirty. Rather than being dirty the b interior is just a little bit old and worn, but it adds character. There wasn't a waitress or a waiter but rather an older gentleman got up from the counter and greeted me. We exchanged some friendly banter and I made my decision and ordered. I ordered a vegetarian platter which consisted of falafel grape leaves and rice. I also ordered a small side of hummus. The food was delicious and definitely home style cooked. There was absolutely no emphasis on presentation but that's okay. The food was great. BUT... THE HUMMUS IS AMAZING! !! Hands down this is superior hummus. The hospitality was incredible as well. I'm super glad that I stopped here and look forward to many more lunches here. You would do well to stop here too.

Perfect spot for our young family of four after the Imagination Station...just a short walk. Service was extra attentive and personable to our little ones. Kids loved the (just slightly spicy) lentil soup. Hummus was very smooth with lots of paprika. Kafta was served hot and very flavorful. ...and you can't beat the price.

Everything is DELICIOUS. We ordered the chicken shwarwama, the gyro, hummus, babaganoush and the fatoosh! Service was EXCELLENT. Prices were too low for food that good. Definitely worth a visit.

I stumbled on them. I am so glad I did. The kids were hungry and they were near my car. The prices drew me in, the good food and service will draw me back.

A lot of restaurants have daily special soups, which is great and all... but I love that I can go to Ranya's any time and know they will have that wonderful lentil soup. I also REALLY like their tuna sandwich. It's grilled on pita and quite wonderful. It's a small place, with limited seating, limited hours and no parking beyond street level. Service is a little hit or miss, but that's part of the charm. They have a very quirky and genuine staff. You'll be rubbing shoulders with local attorneys, politicians, movers and shakers... and you won't notice any of them because you'll be too busy enjoying your food.

Ranya's is my favorite Downtown lunch spot. The prices are extremely affordable and the food is always delicious, not to mention, quite authentic. The key here is to order the lentil soup, which is easily the best in the city. It's light yet filling, and delightfully flavorful. Trust me, you'll be craving it constantly after you try it. And it's less than $2 for a cup. The combo gyro and combo salad are favorites (add feta), as they are cheap stomach stuffers that come loaded with yummy shaved gyro meat, succulent, spiced grilled chicken, and tons of fresh, crispy veggies. The grape leaves, arrays halabi (a Lebanese quesadilla of sorts) and the tuna melt are all also excellent selections. The hummus is some of the best in the city as well, rich, creamy, and very garlicy. Not to mention that the food comes very fast and the servers are sweet as can be. Just a tip, try to get there before or after the main lunch rush, either between 11 and 11:30 a.m. or about 1 p.m. Food and service is much quicker and more attentive. If you only ever get to eat lunch downtown once, make it Ranya's. You won't regret it.

Great lunch time hot spot in downtown, just a block from the county court house. Inexpensive, but fast, healthy, yummy food.

Excellent hummus & chicken gyro lunch - cheap too. No fancy decor. Very nice waitress. Food came out quickly. They're only open for lunch, 11am-2pm. I'll go back again.

Ranya's is my favorite restaurant in downtown Toledo. I stop in every time I am downtown for a meeting. The food is fantastic, the workers are friendly, and the cost is low. The fatoosh salad, with a little hummus and feta cheese, is the best.

This is pretty much the only spot for a fairly complete Middle Eastern menu in downtown Toledo. Limited lunch time hours and generally slow service leave a bit to be desired. However when you have a craving for Lebanese food and can't get out of downtown, Ranya's will work.
