I come for the veal parmesan. Not saying other items on the menu aren't good. I simply can't speak to that. Because in 35 years coming to this establishment I have order just ONE thing. Just ONE. Veal. FYI. It was better years ago. More garlic taste now. BUT this is Toledo and there are very few Italians so the choices are limited making this a "Toledo 5". As I have said before, regarding Italian food in Toledo, you cannot rate this on a level par with east coast, Pittsburgh or Youngstown. Anyways, try the veal parm.

I've eaten here, over the years, probably 200 times. Each time, I ate pizza. I may have had a bad pizza or two (burnt or undercooked crust, etc), but for the most part, the pizza at Inky's has been consistently great. The crust is thin and flaky, and the toppings, which are usually under the cheese, are plentiful. The sauce is a little sweet, and packed with flavor. I can't comment on any of the non-pizza items, because I've only ever eaten the pizza. Service? A little spotty at times. Decor? A little outdated. Location? A little rough. All these 5 star reviews? Some seem at least partially attributable to nostalgia. These 1 or 2 star reviews? Some are at least partially attributable to stooopidity. Seriously, you'd give Inky's a bad review after only one visit? Mangia merde e morte!

I honestly cannot believe what I'm reading when I read some of these reviews. Inky's has been a STAPLE restaurant in Toledo for decades! Ill make this short and sweet...THE BEST PIZZA YOU WILL FIND THIS CLOSE TO CHICAGO. Hands down! Personally, having gone to school and been friends with 2 members of the Incorvaia family, I may be a little biased, but they haven't been in business this long for no reason. If you want good Italian food and GREAT pizza...go to Inky's.

Shasta was our waitress. She was great. She knew the menu and made excellent recommendations. I especially liked the eggplant parm.

One of my all-time favorite pizza places in Toledo. My friends and I come here as often as we can when we're all in town. Every time I go I get the cheesy garlic bread for an appetizer and then a plain cheese pizza. Never disappoints. Parking can sometimes be tough, as there isn't really anywhere else around to park, but somehow I've always found a place, even when it is packed. The inside is pretty simple, nothing real fancy here. Just a good blue collar type restaurant.

"BEST PIZZA EVER!!!" Even though my wife hates it, & doesn't understand how they keep passing health department inspection. Service is nonexistent. PLEASE clean the place up & offer better service! I always get the same thing, sausage, pepperoni & jalapeño, which is temperature & spicy HOT, "REFILLS PLEASE!!!" Inkys you get 5 stars on pizza alone.

My meatball was gray, smelled bad, tasted like rotten ground beef, and should have been reported to the Health Dept. Food is below average or worse. Canned sweet sauce. Expect a visit from an inspector!

This is the best pizza in Toledo for sure. The combo dinners are fantastic, contrary to the comments posted that the sauce is "Ragu". It is AUTHENTIC sauce which immature plebian taste buds may not be accustomed to. The lasagna is top notch, the steak comes on a sizzling plate and is very good. Love the Italian salad - comes with mozzarella, pepperoni, salami, pepperoncini. I have been going to this restaurant for over 35 years and have never had a bad meal nor bad service. Good food that is consistent, delicious, and friendly service is why this place is one of Toledo's gems.

Great pizza, sometimes service is a bit slow, but it is well worth the wait. Inky's has been a Toledo staple for decades, and their food makes it apparent how they have survived this long. Plenty of toppings, a thin cracker-like crust and served piping hot from the oven are just a few of the reasons it is some of (if not the best) pizza in the area.

If you like locally owned restaurants that have been around for decades, then Inky's is for you! To show you how long my family has been going to Inky's - my parents went there on dates when they were in their teens (40+ years). The pizza is a thin crust and always hot. The italian salad is always fresh, and my favorite item in the menu is the cheese bread appetizer (without the marinara sauce). The wait staff has been around for years as well, and are so nice to their regulars. In 2011, my family threw my dad's surprise 60th birthday dinner here with 20+ friends and Inky's had no problem accommodating us. Frank, the owner, was super nice and we had no problems working with him to arrange the party.

After reading the reviews here of how good the pizza is at Inky's, I was very disapointed in it. It was ok, certainly better than any of the chain pizza places. But it doesn't make my top three pizza for the Toledo area. It is a thin crust, but I found it hard, cardboardy rather than dough. The toppings and sauce were good, especially the mushrooms. And to their credit I ordered extra sauce and got it! Many places I feel think they know better and still don't put more sauce on. I noticed the menu said just one free refill on soda and iced tea. None of us tested that, but that is a cheap policy if they enforce it. We will be back though as the wife liked it much more than I did, so I will go on to try the pasta dishes.

What was bad... our food. One can judge a place by it's bread ( stale whiter than white served with about 15 packages of country crap) which was followed by our "Authentic Italian Combo" consisting of nondescript penne pasta, frozen lasagna, and frozen skinless chicken all hidden under an entire CAN of boring tomato sauce. We split this 12 dinner, so at least I walked out of there without paying too much. Hear better things about the pizza, but we wanted Italian food and were very sorry we didn't make it at home for 3 bucks. This furthers our need for an actual Italian restaurant in Toledo.

Using the wonderful Yelp app while driving through Toledo on our way up to Detroit we stopped at Inky's based on the reviews for the good pizza. At first we wondered if we were in the right neighborhood as it is rather industrial and run down looking--but whatev's that doesn't bother me much. Found it pretty easily. Dark old fashioned looking place. Ordered a medium pizza with ham and mushrooms--ham was lunch meat and mushrooms were canned. Crust was pretty good--buttery and flaky very tasty--sauce was flavorful--cheese was the thick. It was just enough for two people. Wasn't great, wasn't bad--wouldn't search it out again if passing through but was better than stopping by a chain while traveling

Not kidding, some of the best pizza on the planet. Every other year when I come home for xmas, I make it a point to pick up a pizza here. We love the thin, flaky crust, the sauce, the square cute. We always get ours with onions and mushrooms, but I doubt there is any sort of pizza here that will be disappointing. Totally worth the trip.

Toledo is falling apart, and this restaurant is in a crappy, most likely dangerous part of town. The restaurant itself is a dump with antiquated wall hangings, an awful blue/green paint on the walls, and this very loud buzzer (might actually be the buzzer from Family Feud) that goes off when orders are ready. Even the tables and chairs were one step above the white plastic ones you find decaying on a fraternity front porch. It's exactly the type of restaurant that would close in a week from bankruptcy, fire, theft, or some sort of crime, except there was a line out the door, and every table was occupied - a GREAT sign of delicious food - I'm willing to look past anything for a delicious feast. Ordered the fried mac & cheese for boy off the kids menu, it's fried Kraft - bleh - I felt icky feeding it to my son. The bread wasn't fresh, and country crock? That stuff is awful, I thought they took it off the market for sucking so badly... Horrible selection of beer - the best beer on the menu was Heineken? really? at least they were cheap! The saving grace? Decent pizza - I concur with the rest of the reviews here - I like it when they put all the toppings under the cheese. It's thin crust and pretty crispy, which isn't exactly my cup of tea, but the pizza was good. I too got canned mushrooms, but the sausage was fresh, and if I'm not mistaken, homemade. If I lived in Toledo, I'd add this place to the bottom of my rotation of take out pizza places.

Heard about this place and wanted to try it, but no one mentioned the pizza. So, I order an Italian dish and when I started to see pizza come out, I was sad I already placed my order. The food was OK, but the pizza looked really good. I'll have to go back with an intent for pizza.

I went to Inkys tonight with a larger party & my significant other. Our table was given to a server that kept forgetting to get my order. I was forgotten for drinks, silverware, meal, & drink refill (she literally kept passing by me when it was time to order stuff/hand things out!). There was no clearing of any plates after everybody was finished, and she even forgot who the order belonged to when we cashed out! She tried giving my card to somebody else and we had to set her straight. You'd think she's remember the only person that got a steak/had a food intolerance, but obviously not (see below)! While I realize it's an Italian establishment, I'm unfortunately unable to eat pasta or fried food because of a gluten intolerance. The only "safe bet" for me was the Sizzling T-bone steak. I ordered medium rare and got medium well. I can tolerate this if it had good flavor. It was not only the toughest steak I've ever had, it was also the least flavorful & driest steak as well. This is very disappointing since I was expecting different from a place that everybody raves about. To make matters worse it was literally swimming in butter - I don't quite understand how it was cooked with that much butter and was still dry and tasteless, but it was. The spaghetti looked fairly appetizing and the smell of the sauce was great, but with my diet restrictions I couldn't eat it - we took it home for my other half to eat later. When I placed it in the box, I was shocked at how much liquid was in the bottom of the pasta. I poured it back out of the box and it was literally an inch thick of water! What the heck?!!! Long story short we went bc of a friends birthday. It was quite a drive to get there from where we live in the city, and with the kind of horrible service, and bad food for my diet I won't go back unless I have to! My other half got a pizza. They're more well known for that, and while he said it had way too many onions on it, the pizza itself was pretty good. This is the only reason they didn't get rated a 1-star!

Went to Inky's on Saturday. I;ve been there a few times with friends and haven't been there in awhile. Looks like they've put a fresh coat of white paint on the walls to spiff it up a bit. The booths are the same dark colored naugahide(sp?) material and you can tell the place has been there a long time. I kind of felt (given the area that it's in and the decor inside) like I'd been transported in time to a 60's/70's mob hangout, which I didn't really mind at all, this place has a bit of character! We had decided to get a pizza and some garlic/cheese bread when a table next to us got something that was sizzling and smelling really good. When the waitress came to take our order we asked what it was and she told us it was their T-Bone steak meal which was on special that night. It includes a 16 oz. T-Bone, salad, fries(they were out of baked potatoes by the time we got there, a bowl of spaghetti, and all the bread you could eat for $15. Regular price was $16. My steak waas cooked perfectly (med.-rare) and there was so much food I had to take half of it home. I was fine with that as it made a great lunch the next day. Service was really good as we were never without anything we asked for. I like this place quite a bit.

kind of small and moderately noisey but i like it! if you can eat a whole medium pizza here, you're a god! the crust seemingly expands in your stomach. good stuff but a little pricey.

I personally stepped in Inky's with a few of my friends solely for its pizzas (which I found to be remarkable), so your mileage may vary. After having some of the best pizzas in town at Pizza Papalis, I wanted to see how the other places stack up. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit lacking although the police station is right across the street. Inky's retains its mom-and-pop atmosphere -- albeit slightly menacing -- by its green, minimal, and clearly outdated decor. If I were to take a guess, I'd say that the dining area dates back to the pre-1980's. The buzzer system indicating the readiness of orders never ceased to amuse me all throughout lunch. The 3-page menu was quick and easy to skim, with pizzas and appetizers taking nearly a page and pastas and sandwiches taking up the last two. Just as a note, a friend discovered that the pastas were not made in house. Not wanting to cope with a bulging stomach for the rest of the afternoon, I opted to share a large two-topping pizza with two of my dining companions -- half pepperoni and green peppers, half ham and pineapple. The pizza was layered as follows: green peppers, cheese, pepperoni, tomato sauce, and the light airy crust. The emphasis lies on the flavorful pepperoni, as a good four layers can be expected in every bite. A liberal sprinkle of parmesan cheese added a sharp saltiness to the well-balanced pie and made it that much more delicious. The pizza wasn't exactly of the same caliber as Pizza Papalis, but it certainly had its own charms. $12.40 for a large pizza of such quality is quite the deal, imo. Prepare for a 25-minute wait when ordering. Just sayin'.

One of the most unique pizzas in town, more of a cracker like crust and it's fantastic. Pasta dishes are also great and the meatballs are huge! Not in the greatest part of toledo but you will not be disappointed.

Sure, maybe I should have gotten the pizza, but the ravioli were excellent. They were clearly homemade with a strong taste of garlic mixed in with the meat. If you want a "foodie "experience with special beers, with the cooking in some kind of sophisticated imagined dialogue with other places or some tradition, yeah, stay the f*** away. This is basically a neighborhood hole in the wall without having a cool sign for tourists saying "this is an AUTHENTIC Toledo hole in the wall." Maybe some people are turned off by the location, or the decor, or whatever. I don't care--then this place was not made for you. But the food is worth coming back for and I'll have the pizza next time.

The pizza was ok. The chicken Parm was horrible. The chicken was grilled and not on the day we was there. The sauce on the chicken parm looked like the same that was on every other dish. We will not be going back......

The atmosphere is very old style with cheap vinyl table cloths. The food portions are big when it comes to entree's. But still don't understand what is the big hype about this place. The pizza over all was nothing to rave about and rather very salty. The lasagna tasted like microwave food. To be honest the Stouffer's lasagna taste better.

First I want to mention that I think everyone is somewhat passionate of what they think pizza should be- so take my review as well as others with a grain of salt. I went to Inky's last weekend with my wife, my son and his buddy-two 15 year olds that can eat. We ordered the antipasto salad Small) which was enough to share. The salad was fresh and the fact that on the bottom of the platter was the meat and cheese was unique. The dressing was olive oil and vinegar- which was light and refreshing. The pizza was thin crust and flakey with plenty of ingredients. I enjoyed this pizza and will put it into my rotation or pizza orders (there are other pizzas i like as well). We had an order of cheese bread that was good. We also split a couple of cheese cakes for dessert. A couple of things to mention- our bill was $60 but we went home with half of the food boxed up. We had the salad, the cheese bread, two pizzas, 2 cheesecakes, 2 beers and a pitcher of soda. Great value. The place is an old restaurant with equally old decor- but don't let that stop you. the service was friendly and efficient. The food was hot and delicious. The place was welcoming and had the neighborhood feel. we actually are from Temperance but saw a few people from our neighborhood there. The place was packed so not everyone that wrote a disappointing review can be right. My suggestion- go and decide for yourself. It may be the place for you- or maybe not your cup of tea. It was worth my time and I'll be back.

Inky's is hands down my favorite pizza on earth. I've been eating it since I was born and could eat solid food. I grew up in Toledo but have since moved away, but I am certain to make a visit here at least a couple times a year. The sauce is seasoned like no other pizza I've ever had. The pepperoni doesn't taste like it came from a package and was just thrown on, it tastes like it is a fresh and well chosen ingredient. The cheese is thick and tasty and my god the crust, it is incredibly flaky and baked properly. I don't typically eat much else besides the pizza. My family enjoys their steaks, though they seem a little fatty to me. This is what a wholesome family dining experience is supposed to be. It's not too loud, there aren't annoying parties of people (unless it's my family during Christmas) and the prices are reasonable. The service can be somewhat iffy at times, but only when it's jam-packed on Friday nights. They have plenty of wine and beer to choose from (snobs need not apply however...there may or may not be any imports here). I love this place and it's hard eating any other pizza because Inky's will spoil you. Well done Inky's, well done.

I have been going to this restaurant since I can remember and I am 36! I love the taco pizza and I can proudly say I have NEVER ordered anything other than that in my whole life! I have tried other dishes and they are all great! The cheese bread with sauce is a MUST! The wait staff is prompt, friendly and accurate! I have never had anything returned to the kitchen! The food is always HOT and delicious! I also introduced my husband to this fine establishment at our rehearsal dinner we had back in 2000!!!! I have grown up with Inky's, and now we go at least twice but more likely 3 times a month!!

I stopped by this place on my way home to Dayton. I decided to stop due to the place's favorable rating. That was a MISTAKE! I do not understand the good ratings for this place. I ordered a pizza. The crust tasted and looked prepackaged, the mushrooms were obviously from a can (complete with the nasty aftertaste), and the sauce was also canned. This is the type of junk I ate as a poor college student! My wife got some seafood trio, with a side of pasta. Basically, it was a bunch of greasy fried junk -- deep-fried frogs legs (literally) and some sort of fish (maybe or cat). The pasta in the side dish was overcooked, and again, the sauce was low-quality canned sauce -- more sugar than tomato. I've tasted better from jarred brands at the store. On the bright side, our waitress was nice, and apologized for the food, and requested that I pay my bill. Looks like this dump makes its money from one-timers passing through. Pathetic!

Love their pizza. Hands down one the best I have ever ate. Btw if you live outta town they can ship it to you. T bone dinner is also a favorite as well as their garlic cheese bread with the sauce. Love the wait staff and the owner. Feels like home for sure. My family also loves the chicken Alfredo. Yum, yum, yum.

Pretty good food. I had the inky's pizza (I think that's what it was called) with meatball, onions and such. It was good (not great). A friend got mushroom ravioli with Alfredo sauce that was VERY GOOD. Another friend got the lasagna that they said was really good as well. Dark, and seems outdated, but we all had a good time and enjoyed our food.

I've traveled and had pizza at the best of places. With that being said, few compare to Inky's. The sauce and cheese taste fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place. I wouldn't understand if someone claimed disappointment in their pizza.

I am SO disappointed! I wouldn't even give it one star if i didn't have to. $50 for unseasoned SLOP. We ordered cheese bread for the kids. 5 something dollars... it was 2 pieces of bread, split in half with cheese on it! TWO PIECES OF BREAD! My boyfriend and I both ordered a "combo #2". Lasagna, penne pasta and chicken parmesean. It was horribly put together in the container with what seems to be ragu sauce dumped on top. The parmesean consisted of bland, grilled chicken. Ummm, grilled? Since when? Idk? No garlic bread comes with it. Just plain ole pieces of bread. I can deal with that I suppose... I just couldn't deal with the fact that on top of all that, the "wonderful pizza" was HORRID. burnt but yet falling apart, bland as can be, yet riddled with some type of seasoning. I'm not sure how that happens. The kids thought it was a horrible dinner and did not eat it. Way to throw away money around the holidays. I still can not get over the garlic bread. Lol are they freaking serious?! I will NEVER order food from there again. I could have done a much better job myself, for about $40 less.

Toledo staple. Inky's has been around for almost 60 years. I have been here a few times. Most recent for pizza. They do a great job with traditional pizzas. As for pastas, I am not a fan. The gravy or sauce is bland nothing but tomato flavor, the homemade sausage is good be careful you may get a ton of fennel seeds in a bite of the link. At first I thought it was rice but no, it was seeds. I like fennel but not that much. I like, well actually love garlic and this is lacking. Regardless of my taste for Italian cuisine if you want true traditional Italian pizza, you have to give Inky's a try. If you like trendy Italian this isn't the place but give the pizza's a try. They do the great. The atmosphere is outdated, more of a hole in the wall with no Italian feel. I dont mean to be harsh on this location because they have lasted for 60 years. That is so hard to do these days with the over saturation of chain delivery pizzerias and other restaurants. I think Inky's will be around for another 60 more years. Give them a try and stay away from the pasta sauces.

Excellent thin crust pizza. Ample toppings. Excellent sauce and cheese. Well cooked and inexpensive. Personally, I like pizza to be a little on the greasier side and a little on the saltier side, too. Inky's fits that bill nicely. I've also eaten the spaghetti. It's pretty good, but I'd stick with the pizza. Inky's is still family owned and operated, by a good family, in it's original location; the building itself is quaint and has true character. It IS a bit of a throwback (the buzzer system, for example), and I mean that in a good way. SOAPBOX ALERT! In reading the other reviews, I saw many comments about how the neighborhood is bad. And yes, I agree. Like many of Toledo's classic, long-standing restaurants (and some great new places, too), Inky's is located in a neighborhood that isn't quite what it used to be. So what. BFD. If you let something like the neighborhood stop you from eating at Inky's (or Mancy's, or Red Well's, or The Beirut, or Pho Viet Nam, or Dexter's, or Black Kite, etc, etc, etc, etc), you'll be relegated to eating strip-mall sushi in F@#&~*G MONCLOVA!! . Okay. I'm better now. . .

Love their pizza, however they don't put nearly the amount of pepperoni as they used to. Also pizza has been over cooked lately, waitress recommended ordering it lightly cooked and has been great since.

Little mom and pop shop, I love these kinda places! We made a reservation because there were 8 of us, they had the table set and ready for us when we showed up. Cheesy garlic bread - awesome! Pizza - came out pipping hot, had to give it another 5 min just to cool off! But really really good. I had black olives, peperoni & banana peppers, this combo was spicy too. I also shared a little bit of someone elses, he had a 3 plate trio which had lasagne, penne pasta (we had Alfredo on this portion) & stuffed shells. This portion of the menu is kinda cool because you can not only choose your pasta, but you can choose the type of sauce which is great for someone like myself who likes to sample a little bit of everything! Anyway, the bill comes (this is including alcoholic beverages & non alcoholic beverages) and the total was only like $80. What a deal!

If you go here, get the pizza. What's that? You don't like pizza? Then go somewhere else to eat. You think something else on the menu sounds good? Doesn't matter, get the pizza. I once brought a friend here after telling her for 2 years about how amazing the pizza was, and what does she order? Something that was not pizza. Then she said she didn't think the place was any good. That's like going to Cedar Point with your friends after they tell you about how awesome the rollercoasters are, not riding any rollercoasters, and then complaining that it was boring. I have been eating Inky's since I was a young pup, and I have no idea what any of the other dishes on the menu taste like (apparently, they aren't great), because the pizza is so good, I've never wanted anything else. When your mom is making french toast for breakfast, you don't say "No thanks, I'll just have a Pop-tart instead". If you want to order some of the cheese bread to start you out, go ahead, it's pretty tasty. But whatever you do, don't pass up the best damn thin crust pizza in the region!

Inky's is a local neighborhood favorite. If you like "old school' Italian, then this is the place to go. The pizza and entrees are delicious, with the portions leaving plenty of room for leftovers. Due to the popularity and size of the place, Inky's can get jammed near the doorway if you have to wait for a table.

  • Jimmy M.

The pizza is fantastic and the sauce *is* homemade. I'm rarely disappointed with whatever I order here and it's all very reasonably priced. Lunch sizes portions are what most people consider dinner and dinner sized portions give you plenty for lunch the next day. In response to everyone saying how old and cramped this place is, get over it. I hate to break it to some of you crying over the use of canned/frozen veggies for pizza toppings, but you'll even find that at most overpriced chains. Shocking, huh? It almost makes you wonder if Santa is real. Hope I didn't just ruin Christmas for you. If you're looking for fancy Italian food, go to New York City and stop picking on a Toledo staple.

Not what it used to be! Pizza crust was cheap flour and water. As we were seated our flatware and napkin was tossed on the table with the menus...how rude! Had to request water but the waitress was nice. They just sat around and watched at a table by the entrance. Life long Toledo resident but haven't been here in three years...things sure do change... Probably won't be back here but I will still support other locally owned restaurants!

I've been going to INKY's since I was a little boy, way before the put on the addional dining room. My Mom and Dad would do their bowling league and after we would go have Pizza at Inky's. When I was in the ARMY everytime I came home first place I hit was Inky's. When I managed the Advantage Auto Store down the street I use to by lunches for my best customers at Inky's. Love their steak, Pizza, Egg Plant, White and the Red Clam sauce is GREAT.

My family has been coming here for multiple generations and when I was in town visiting I had looked forward to coming here. After we got back in the car we decided we will not go back. We felt like an inconvenience to our waitress and she felt confrontational not friendly.I will say that the portions are still enormous. If you want a lot of food, then you can find it here. After finishing our meal and waiting a while, (and our waitress not coming to the table for an extended period of time) my mother went to the cabinet and got us out to go boxes herself because it was clearly not happening any time soon otherwise. Our waitress saw this and still did not approach out table or bring the check. We then loaded them up and continued to wait. She walked past us, and went to a large 18 top table and began taking orders. We stopped another waitress and asked her to get the check from our waitress as we had needed to go for a bit now and she hadn't checked in on us. She became flustered and in a very inappropriate tone said that she could "interrupt" out waitress and have her get the check. When she reached our waitress the way she was bobbing her head it was apparent that she had prefaced out request with an attitude. Our waitress already had the check ready and pulled it out, dropped it off, and then went right back to her large table, it had not been but a 4 second Interruption to do so. I felt the exchange was worthy sharing with a manager and went to the bar to talk to someone. She let me share my experience and explained that our waitress had been distracted because she had prep work to do for later dinner service. I can totally understand as I work in a restaurant, but the experience we had was really disappointing. I also felt very uncomfortable trying to talk to a manager when the second waitress began to share her side of the story. "uncomfortable" or not, as she said we made her feel asking for our check. We were made to feel like an inconvenience and I feel that any diners experience is valid. When I walked out the door I don't believe that they would have done anything differently. I honestly think that they felt they did everything right. I surely didn't hear the words "I am sorry" once in the entire exchange. As I walked out the door the second waitress and female manager were laughing and talking so I felt even more ignored than I had in the exchange. I had been very calm and tried to share my personal experience and even understanding that things happen in a restaurant, but I felt that they had handled the situation very poorly. It defiantly fell on deaf ears. At the end of the day, we did not enjoy ourselves because of our service and don't plan on returning.

Sketchy neighborhood, not the best service, not much in the way of ambiance - but we still enjoyed the pizza. Everyone in our dining party had pizza so we cannot comment on any other dishes. One dining companion read in the menu that you only get one beverage refill - not happy about that, especially since we had pepperocinis on our pizza and it was hot. Is the cost of soda fountain beverages that much to not offer unlimited refills? I'd eat the pizza again but would prefer ordering take out.

I finally made it to Inky's to try their pizza because of all the rave reviews that i have heard about it, but lets just say i was less than impressed. Now I am not very hard to impress when it comes to pizza, but it just was not what I was hoping it would be; it wasn't terrible but it certainly was not amazing or even great, it was just ok. As far as the pasta dish that i ordered, combo #1, it was good but not what it should be for an authentic family owned Italian restaurant. They just threw all the pasta on a small plate and drowned it in tomato sauce- which i actually really liked. I guess my real problem was that everything seemed homemade but not in a good way, in a cheap no effort way. I have actually made everything on that dish at home but easy recipes that require the fewest ingredients possible and my dishes have tasted the same. I don't like to go pay money at restaurants for things that i can make at home. Oh and last but not least, the service was pretty terrible. My waitress was very rude and made it very clear that she had no desire to be there and that she was not happy to be waiting on me. I don't respond too well to horrible service.

One word- SAUCE. It's delicious and its plentiful! Everything we ordered was bathed in the sweet, fresh tomato sauce. We had a sampling at our table from lasagna, to chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan, Most dinners come with a side of spaghetti as well as a dinner salad. We also ordered the cheese bread, which needed a couple mor minutes in the oven and the "meat sauce" pizza. Get outta here, the meat sauce pizza was like meat candy! Each bite full of flavor. The crust was so light and crispy it would have been enough for one meal. Go and sample everything. You will have leftovers no matter what you do the portions are family sized for sure. This Toledo tradition has been serving up Italian in the same location for over 50 years.

It's been many years since I've been here, but it's still as great as I remember it! The garlic cheese bread was fanatic and the pizza, very yummy! Love the homemade crust! The rest of my party got pays dishes. They were swimming in sauce - which would've been my only complaint as I don't like sauce quite THAT much. Haha! Overall, still a great restaurant!

Inky's Pizza is fantastic, and the other options are top-notch as well. Another great thing is the prices on the meals are very reasonable, and our favorite is the Eggplant Parmesan. The wait staff treat their customers like family (family members they like - LOL!). PS: Their Taco pizza is the best I've ever had, by far. Very fresh ingredients, magnifico!!

Yuck, this place is stuck in 1984. While it may have been quite popular 30 years ago, it is a relic today. I really don't see what the fuss is about. The food was so-so, service was slow, and decor was awful. No thanks, not eating here again

If all you're expecting is bottled Ragu pasta sauce I guess you like this place. And if you like your chicken Parmesan grilled I guess you like this place if you have any higher expectations and that I would not eat here.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
