It's tough to choose an establishment based upon a limited number of reviews, even if those reviews ARE all five stars. Well, chalk up another five star review because Campesino's really IS as good as it gets; well, as good as I've ever had, at least. Fairly or not, I tend to judge a Mexican restaurant by the quality of its chips and salsa since it is typically the first thing that one tastes upon being seated in such an establishment. Well, Campesino's serves the best salsa that I have ever tasted - period. It is just the right combination of puree and chunkiness. And it is not the wimpy, mild salsa that most Mexican restaurants serve. It has a definite kick. But I appreciate the fact that they cater to those of us that don't want wimpy. And it is ever tasty. On to dinner: I tried the Burrito de Roqueta. It was served piping hot and it was HUGE. This burrito contained large chunks of roast pork with onions and was covered with a green sauce and a white cheese/cream sauce (at least, I think that is what it was made of). Served with sides of beans and rice, it was more than I could handle. And that's saying something because I can eat. This establishment is located in the small town of Strasburg, a bit off the beaten path. I was born in nearby Dover and was in the area for a quick visit after visiting northeast Ohio on business. Strasburg is a short drive from Canton and it is WELL worth the trip. It is located on US250 (Wooster Avenue) a couple of miles off of I-77. I visited on a Thursday evening and they were busy but not packed. My bet is that they really pack them in on weekends. I checked "full bar" since, although I do not drink, I saw someone at the table next to me being served a Margarita as big as a swimming pool. And they do have a separate bar area. But don't send me hate mail if the place is beer and wine only, please. The service is as good as the food and the young lady who serves as hostess/cashier (I wish that I had gotten her name) is simply a delight. It is very casual and family-oriented. It is not a quiet, romantic type place, but neither is it obnoxiously loud. You can't beat the prices: My monster burrito with the sides of beans and rice, the chips and killer salsa, and an iced tea for less than ten bucks. Simply amazing. If you like - no, truly LOVE - Mexican food, you really should check out Campesino's! Then send me a note of thanks.

Five stars for food and service and price. Four for atmosphere. Wish I could give it 4 1/2 stars. We'll be back

I recently traveled home to visit my family. Born and raised in Coshocton but now live in Texas. Mexican place. I argued that I live in Texas and no way could Mexican food in Ohio beat that. Boy, was I wrong. I have to admit, this was by far the best Mexican food I've ever tried. The food was awesome and cheap. The margarita's were also a huge hit. When I travel home again, I'm going to make sure to visit.

Most of this is based on customer service. Only ordered side of rice and 3 beef tacos to split with BF. When the food came to the table my head was turned and there was no mention of HOT plate. So instinctively I went to move the plate of rice closer and severely burned my fingers. By the time the waitress came by (two ice cubes later- to cool my burn). I told her and asked if they had burn cream. Not a whole lot of concern by staff. She did bring the cream. But my fingers ended up blistering later. Here's the irony WHY was this ordinary white plate so hot - like the cast iron ones used for fajitas. And the rice was just warm?? Made no sense. Waitress never came back around after that I had to go to hostess stand before she showed up. Tacos were pretty flavorless, a disappointment. The rice lacked flavor also - I ended up dumping the salsa on top of it. The salsa was however, very good.

Stopped in with my dad today on our way home from his cabin. He recommended it as he has been here a couple times. When we arrived, we were promptly seated, given menus, and our drink orders were taken. I like quick service! There was typical Mexican decor strewn about the walls and the place appeared clean. There was a pretty good selection of Mexican dishes and my dad was ordering the chicken fajitas, so I tried something different for a change. I ordered the Pollo Loco. It is chicken serviced with sauteed onions on top with sides of rice, guacamole, and pico de gallo. It was really tasty and I definitely would order it again. The food quality is very good. I tasted my dad's fajitas and they were also very tasty. This place is on par with my favorite Mexican restaurant back in Independence, Cozumel. If I wasn't driving, I would've ordered a margarita grande, but maybe next time. I definitely recommend this place. Really good!

Good. Yes, it's Americanized Mexican but it's really good. You will absolutely love the fresh salsa and guacamole. Everything we liked except the refried beans which were a little bland. Food was nice and cheesy... The way we like Mexican.

After driving past this place for years, I finally stopped here. If I would have use my yelp app, I could have drive part I hop in Massolion. Ok like others before me. It's cheap and very good. We got combos. They didn't come with rice or beans but three items each. The Chile rellino had beef and cheese on top of part of pepper (yum) the ground beef enchilada was best part of combo. The ground beef is very lightly seasoned, which is good. You can taste sauces, like everything else they seem fresh made. We got cheese dip, little pepper mixed in. The salsa is mild but flavorful. The beer is deal for draft. The margaritas are as good as advertised. Monday is margaritas night ($2.50) abd Monday thru Thursday dollar drafts! Don't drive past here! Two meals and adult beverages $33.

So good I went two nights in a row.. Had the pork Cancun Cheese Steak the first night and it was really really delicious. I hate to admit it, but it really was a lot like an authentic Philly steak (shout out to Geno's...hey Jimmy!!!)...American wit'. Big fat kudos to whomever's idea this menu item was. The next night I had the fajitas. They were good also but didn't compare to the cheese steak. Again...good, just not beyond the cheese steak. HOWEVER... The fifth star was secured by the magnifico margaritas. Both nights I had a gold version, and oh, mi amigo...they were gold. You know how some margs are billed as primo pours and they show up looking fluorescent green and tasting like lemonade without the sugar...or worse yet, like lemonade with a lot of sugar? Well, these desperados showed up a little orange..or gold..and I'm pretty sure I could've cleaned my engine with them. The regular was $4 and the Jumbo was $7.75. Great price for a great drink. Grew up in Texas, so I'm a little familiar with fermented agave product and Mexican food. This place is legit. Not sure I'll ever be back in the area, so please have one for me.

We chose here because they participate in restaurant.com coupons. The food was excellent and the prices were cheaper than similar restaurants. I really enjoyed the salsa and chips that come with the meal. We had an excellent bowl of bean dip that was mixed with cheese. Then we ate vegetarian fajitas and a chicken salad. Both meals were more than we could eat. This restaurant is worth the drive. Give it a try you will not be disappointed

How can there not be a review for this place? I remember the first time I went here. I was blown away by the variety and quality of the dishes on the menu. I have had Mexican food from everywhere from Florida to Mexico and this place satisfies any and all cravings I have for great Mexican food. Check them out and then hit the drive in. Make a night of it.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
