Went in today with my GF and her parents. As soon as we sat down the server greeted us and immediately asked what we wanted to drink.Service was fast,courteous and outstanding. Ordered the 12oz New York and cooked the way I liked (rare!) and a glass of Stella Artios served properly in a Tulip glass! She kept checking back with us to see how everything was, along with the other servers. It was a pleasant dinner at a fair price.

Dont be fooled by the intrigue of an English pub in Salem, OH... It's not really English and I think it's actually some weird hybrid attempt at a cross between an English tea room and a pub. Either way - it smells pretty foul (that musty, cigarette smell) and it's pretty well used inside. I ordered the fish and chips - the chips were good - the fish pretty bad. The fish piece was this huge plank (and it was lunch), and it was soggy on the bottom. The fish you couldn't even get your fork into because it was so soggy. The coleslaw was way too vinegary Go down the street to Mikes Penn Ave Grill if you're in Salem and want a restaurant - it's not great but it's probably better and cheaper than the English Pub.

Okay maybe it's not an authentic English pub but it's close enough. We ARE in Salem, Ohio. We've tried a few of the English dishes - the shepherds pie and toad in a hole. They were just fine. But we've also had the fish and steak and a variety of other things, even the pasta. I especially like the pasta dish with scallops. The setting in downtown Salem has its own charms as does the intimate pub. It feels like a place to go for a special dinner like an anniversary or the opportunity to meet with old friends. It can be quite busy at dinner time and the venue is small so we recommend reservations. But if waiting is okay with you it is a Pub and there is a nice bar where you can sit and enjoy a cocktail while you're waiting for your table.

My husband and I had never been to Ricky's and decided to stop in for a beer and to catch the Cavs game. My husband is active duty military and we were treated horribly. What can I say other than we should have gone to Rooners. I have never had such horrible service, or dealt with such unfriendly, incapable, inattentive, snooty staff. My husband and I waited twenty minutes for drinks and watched as others were served before us while we were ignored. We decided to leave and go elsewhere and couldn't get anyone to close out our tab. Finally the owner closed our tab and I told him about our horrible experience, he was unapologetic and just as snooty. We will never go back

Probably the best steaks in town, and the fried fish is delicious! Visit frequently for food and and drinks. Also, I love that they actually have a dessert selection and it changes frequently!

Went because it was an English Pub and tried their Shephard's Pie. It looked like Hungry Man Beef Soup covered with mashed potatoes. The only thing English about the pub was the woman with the English accent.

It's Salem, Ohio! I'm not expecting fish you'd get in a coastal town. But, hey, Salem, Ohio folks. The fish was just fine. Better than Gordon's fish stix. The waiter was lovely and attentive. My mom, who has cheated death numerous times, has a special affinity for this place, and for that I give an extra star. I know I will be going back....with Ma!!

Pretty good food, it is a bit pricey for the area though. it is not a bad place to stop for a drink while bar hopping. Update: my bf and decided to choose ricky's for date night. When we went in we were quickly greeted. We were sat and the waitress left and didnt return for 5 min. She then took our 2 water 1 pop order and came back 7 min later with only 2 waters. mind you there were only 2 other tables in the place. We waited 15 min for her to come back and as the time past we got up and left. i will never go back!

This is a gem found on the main drag through Salem. Ricky's has great food with a relaxing atmosphere. The service is very good and it's difficult to pick a favorite dish with everything I've had being so good. A must try.
