I have been here a couple of times. Both times I came for drinks. Seeing as this is pretty much the only bar in town, you dont have much to choose from. The beer is pretty cheap and so is the food. I've only gotten app's here and they were typical bar food. If you are looking for a quick bite and some cheap beer this is the place for you. They also have some dart boards and a couple pool tables.

My husband and I ate there about a week ago, it was terrible. Took ten minutes of us loitering at the hostess podium to be seated...when she DID come to seat us, she attempted to seat us with a total stranger. It was incredibly awkward. They were NOT busy, probably a dozen patrons, and we were there over 90 minutes, for water, one beer and our meals. They ran out of the special/fish, but then miraculously came up with more. Our drinks were gone before our food even came, and they never got filled up. The waitress was lame and NOT friendly at all, the food was acceptable, but nothing to write home about. It's a shame, Napoleon seems like a great little town and we adore small town charm, this town was just lacking it, big time! Hopefully the owner/manager reads these reviews and takes note. This is NOT how small/local businesses thrive. My guess is the only reason they're still in business is because options in the town are limited. Good luck!

I have been here a few times only for drinks, but have wondered what the food was like. Last Saturday, I went to eat there with my sister-in-law and her husband and kids. I had never been in other than at night. It was about 6pm and when we went in the dining area there was one other table with two ladies dining and there were about 8 people in the two other bar and game rooms. The menu was pretty diverse. Traditional bar food with a strong list of sandwiches, wings, appetizers and salads. There were also a couple of steaks and other dinners. All of the food looked great when it came to the table. Good presentation and fair portions Bro-in-law had a Philly Cheese Steak he enjoyed, Sis-in-law had a chicken salad that was also good. The three boys had wings, chicken tenders and I don't remember the third, but they all liked it. Now on to my experience, because it is all about me right? ;) I have not had meatloaf in a while, so "Mel's Meatloaf Sandwich" caught my eye. Not sure if Mel is someone connected with the bar or if it is a reference to Mel's Diner. Anyway, the description was intriguing. I will paraphrase. Two big pieces of meatloaf grilled and served on grilled home baked bread with american cheese, bacon and Rick's Special Sauce with a side of sweet potato fries. Sounded great and at $6.99, very reasonably priced. Our waitress was a perky young lady who cheerfully asked for our order. name began with an A, ... Aleshia maybe. So when I order, I ask what the special sauce is. Girlfriend looks at me and (no kidding) says.... "its special". Ok. Let's try this skippy. What does it taste like? Her honest-to-God answer? "Its hard to describe." REALLY? So I try this - does it taste like russian dressing, spicy mayo, 1000 Island, tartar sauce, WHAT? No idea. Oy vey.... So I just say, ok give it to me on the side. When the food comes, it looks great. Sandwich is stacked with three pieces of grilled bread "club sandwich style". The sweet potato fries are perfectly done. The "special sauce" looks suspiciously familiar. I stick my finger in the cup and take a taste. Uh, Flo? Its 1000 Island Dressing ok? For future reference.... (isn't that special?). To the sandwich. First, the two pieces of meatloaf were not exactly what I would call big. Probably 3 ounces apiece. Very good flavor, if a little on the sweet side due to the sauteed onion and peppers in the mix. A good combo with the cheese and bacon. The bread? This was NOT home baked. It was straight out of a bag from the grocery or a Nickles Bakery pullman loaf. The sandwich was still good, but on the sweetside as I mentioned. There was no way that 1000 Island Dressing was needed on this. Sweet on sweet? No thanks. I get our girl's attention and ask if they have like a horseradish sauce or chipotle mayo or some spicy dressing. She says she doesn't know and just looks at me. I just look at her. Awkward. She finally says she will go check. Hey! Good idea! She returns with waht she calls southwestern dressing. I say it was chipotle mayo. At any rate, the spice was a good foil to counter the sweetness of the sandwich. Whoever does the menu needs to think more about how things work together and PLEASE do not embellish the descriptions. Big pieces - not so much. Home made bread - OUTRIGHT FABRICATION. It is a good sandwich as it is. Be proud of what you serve and don't misrepresent. this may come as a surprise after all this, but I recommend the place and will return. The food was good and I also have a great story about this clueless waitress!
