I love the hell out of Jeni's anyway, and one of the perks of this one is its location. A couple of doors down on the side street is a yarn shop, and a couple of doors down from THAT is a tea shop! Jeni's, yarn, and tea all within a two-minute walk. Heaven! (There are also some excellent-looking restaurants just as close by... someday I'll have to try them.) But for Jeni's itself, friendly, well-informed staff, and decadent ice cream in many flavors that rotate with the season. They're local to Columbus, and an awesome, ethical company to boot.

Love this location for jenis, mostly cause there's a nice outdoor area across the street to chill and hang out. Their ice cream is my favorite in the city, but after the whole listeria thing the flavor selections have been pretty limited. I don't really have a favorite flavor here cause they rotate so often, but if you can get your hands on that savannah buttermint definitely try that. Also, always get the waffle cone. They're fresh and delicious. There are a few free 3 hour parking lots in the area so parking isn't really an issue. It can get crowded, but the staff is always helpful and fast so you should get in and out quickly. Definitely a must try if you're in the area.

WARNING: Do not go to Jeni's unless you are ready for all other ice cream to be ruined! Jeni's is the best ice cream I have ever day - I refuse to eat any others (store bought ice cream is dead to me), which makes me VERY happy that I can get Jeni's in stores now!! I love this location because it is close to home and in the Bridge St area which is very pretty. Te decor of this shop is minimalistic, yet trendy, a great place to sit and chat over the best damn ice cream in the land. it is a bit expensive for ice cream, but you can pronounce ALL ingredients and Jeni's has a great variety to choose from.

I had been seeing this place every time I came home to Ohio for years and always wondered how the ice cream was. When I was home in February of this year, I was determined to finally make it there. Mind you, it was February. There was a blizzard outside, but I was determined. There are so many options, it's slightly overwhelming. They allow you to sample, so that was nice. I ended up going with the brambleberry crisp and the brown butter almond brittle. Oh. My. Gosh. It was the most magical ice cream I have ever tasted in my life. I'm still dreaming about it. I need to find a place in Georgia that sells pints or go back to Ohio very soon. It will be one of the places that I have to go to when I come, regardless of the season.

H and I were visiting my cousin in Hilliard... and HAD to get ice cream in February. Yes, we had to. After a few recommendations from our cousin, we decided on Jeni's in Dublin. There are so many Jeni locations. Why did we pick the one in Dublin? This one has its own parking lot and I HATE parking off-street in areas I'm not familiar with. So... a plus for this location due to the availability of parking! Another plus because this location is situated in such a quaint area of town- it reminds me of the small, old-fashioned, blue law towns in New England! We were immediately greeted by energetic workers and made our way to the back of the decent-sized line. We were probably seventh or eighth in line, but the workers made their way quickly and waited on us within minutes. The girl who served us was patient and very willing when offering samples to my super finicky H and I. Honestly, every flavor we tried was unique and delicious! Ultimately, H chose brown butter almond brittle & buckeye state and I chose the wildberry lavender & brambleberry crisp. We both scarfed down our desserts in minutes! We even got to try a few more samples and ended up buying a pint of pistachio/honey on our hour long drive back to Beavercreek, OH. For two scoops of ice cream per person and a pint of ice cream, we paid $20 + tip.

OMG OMG OMG OMG. Their ice cream is beyond compare. I travel to Columbus a lot. My daughters won't let me come home without Jeni's.

I am not a big ice cream eater but by boyfriend has been insisting on taking me. We stopped by after we ate dinner elsewhere and parking was a challenge. We go inside and the staff were so nice and helpful and with great personalities. Since they are still trying to produce more products due to the previous shutdown, they were very limited on the flavors they had on hand. I did taste the popcorn flavor.....wow! My boyfriend got a scoop of dark chocolate and a scoop of salted caramel....they were fantastic together. He also had a cone chip in his. In my opinion I tasted like they browned it for too long. Maybe after they are in full production I will try some other flavors.

Jeni's has the BEST ice cream!! I tried to go the healthier route whenever I wanted ice cream and joined in on the froyo craze for a bit. But there is no comparison between froyo and Jeni's ice cream! You walk into the store and you're just overwhelmed by the delicious waffle smell! They have the most unique flavors and it's just so GOOD! I love sampling some of the flavors before ordering, but I usually end up with salty caramel and the buckeye state in a waffle cone. The buckeye state has the best blend of dark chocolate bits and peanut butter. The salty caramel is my all-time favorite flavor- its salty/sweet perfection! My husband, the chocoholic, absolutely loves Jeni's dark chocolate. He always pairs it with the buckeye state. Yes, the ice cream may be a little pricey, but it is seriously so good that it is worth every penny. We've been eating Jeni's ice cream a lot lately.. and it's not even summer yet! We're in trouble...

Some of the best, freshest ice cream you'll ever put in your pie hole! Fresh cones too!

I'm a fan of Jeni's and have been to this location a few times. The staff is competent but seem more reserved in their greetings and more interested in having conversation amongst themselves. I do like the overall layout as the location is large and when I've been in there hasn't been a long line or long wait. Like the other locations the ice cream is delicious!

Slightly conflicted on whether to give a 3 or 4, because my experience was overall a net positive, but there were a few small things that bugged me. One of my favorite aspects of Jeni's (asides from the countless numbers of amazing flavors) is their generosity with giving our samples. I spent probably 15 minutes asking for different samples and trying to figure out what I wanted to order. The server who was originally helping us out was extremely friendly and welcoming, but while I was trying to decide on my order, she went to help another group and a different server took over. This server was pretty aloof and unfriendly, and he seemed pretty reluctant to let me try one more sample before I decided on my order. In addition, when I finally did order (Intelligentsia Black Cat Espresso & Seven-Layer Bar), he was pretty stingy with how much ice cream he gave. Moreover, my friend, who'd been debating between the Chocolate Hazelnut and the Chocolate Truffle with White Chocolate Peppermint ice cream sandwiches, ended up asking for the Chocolate Hazelnut, and they gave us the other one instead. I wanted to say something, but my friend doesn't like confrontation and wouldn't let me.... Quality of ice cream? Top-notch. Service? Could use a bit of work in some areas.

Yes this place deserves every star that can be pulled out of the night sky and dropped into this review. I have never experienced the patience and support they provided me with while taking 20 minutes (I have a family and things take us some time) to wade my way through the sea of delicious flavors. I ended up with brambleberry, intelligencia coffee, and buckeye. They were all incredible and I did not taste a single flavor I would have been disappointed with. Ask for samples and don't be shy with your need to try so many. The price for 3 scoops of ice cream seems high until you savor EVERY. SINGLE. BITE. Highly Recommend.

  • Chris S.

Um. Pretty much the best ice cream I've ever had. Had a great time with the family.

  • Chinky D.

Love their salted caramel icecream. It just adds to the taste whenever taken as a convo with any other sweet one

  • Amanda M.

Will be back for sure! The ice cream here was amazing and worth standing in line for. Any place that offers free samples gets me excited! Buckeye, mint and milk chocolate were the flavors I choose and they were out of this world! I also like that they have typical ice cream flavors and some unique combinations for the brave at heart. Such great quality! A must try place if you are in the Columbus area!

  • Nick M.

I am not a huge fan of ice cream but I can never pass up Jeni's, the variety and creativity in the flavors and the overall quality and goodnness is fantastic. Must have flavors include: Reisling Pear, Brambleberry Crunch & Salted Caramel!!

This is the best ice cream I've had in my entire life. Every flavor wakes up your taste buds and makes them smile:)

Anyone who knows me knows I love Jeni's. This location is much larger than any I have visited in the past but the service here was not what I had come to expect from Jeni's. Great ice cream but the staff seemed bored and uninterested. They did not greet us with the usual Jeni's friendliness.

    (3)
  • Matt W.

Everything that comes out of this place is pure deliciousness. The hazelnut ice cream sandwich is supreme, and the service is friendly.

  • Cristin S.

I love me some Jenis! When I saw the peach flavor was out I made sure to be there the next day! This location is in a nice area and was not as crowded as the short north location! It's nice that you can get your ice cream and walk around the little town!

  • Michelle K.

Jeni's has some of the best ice cream I've had in the Columbus area. My friends had to take me there a few times, but now I'm a true believer. Each season they come out with great new flavors and they are always happy to let you sample as many as you'd like. Yes, it is a bit expensive for ice cream but the flavors are more exciting and the taste is more pure than other ice cream shops.

  • Misty C.

Who can say anything bad about Jeni's??!! It was awesome, as always. The service is always five star. Very helpful in explaining the flavors and offering tastes of the many scrumptious flavors!! We walked over to Jeni's after visiting Mr Sushi last Friday night. Though it was a bit crowded, the line moved fast and the staff was super. We all tried different flavors. I had the wild berry lavender and the buttermint - AMAZING. perfect spring flavors :) Others had buckeye and milkiest milk chocolate. Everyone was happy. For fifteen bucks, three of us had delicious desserts and got to enjoy the beautiful Spring weather. Can't wait for more Summer flavors!

  • Stephanie P.

Why have I waited until now to review Jeni's?!? I love this place. We're pretty spoiled in C-bus in terms of ice cream with some excellent ice cream offerings but Jeni's is the best of the lot. A local company who uses (mostly) local ingredients in the right way and produces a consistently fabulous product. I base all my combos around the dark chocolate (it's my favorite). Last night, I had the dark chocolate, cherry lambic sorbet and (my new winter fave) whiskey & pecans. But, really, the best part of going to a Jeni's is that you can try before you buy... seriously, try everything you can because you never know what will become your new favorite flavor.

  • Tanya B.

First impression - weird. Then - fascinating. Then - Yum! It's not every day you walk into an ice cream shop that sells flavors like goat cheese and bacon, or some other similar combination. I didn't try any of the flavors that turn a dinner main course into ice cream, but I did try some of their desert flavored ice cream and it was delicious! But I lived in the area, I probably would've made it a regular place to visit and slowly try every flavor on the menu. Cause however crazy the combination is, the bottom line is they make real good, rich, ice cream out of it.

Eating ice cream from Jeni's for the first time is very similar to having sex for the first time. You try a few different things, you're blown away by how good it is, and you definitely want to have more as often as possible. Salty Caramel is one of the flavors that despite what your ice cream preference might be, you'll love this. Mackenzie Creamery Goat Cheese with Roasted Red Cherries has a name that has scared off many people from trying, including my mother-in-law, but once I convinced her to try it, she realized it's like eating frozen cheesecake and the idea of "goat cheese" isn't so bad. This is probably my favorite flavor. Ohio Sweet Corn with Black Rasberries is probably one of the most unique flavors I've ever tried and it's seasonal. Come on, where else can you try corn flavored ice cream and be blown away by how good it is? Wildberry Lavender is my wife's favorite and I have to admit that it's pretty good. It's like eating the smell of a lavender flower. It smells good, but you know if you ate the flower it wouldn't taste like it smells...well, Jeni has figured out how to make ice cream taste like the smell of a flower...she's some kind of taste Ninja that Jeni. Queen City Cayenne is another the blew me away, but I don't ever order this one. It's Chocolate, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper....don't gasp, it's actually quite good and has a very interesting flavor profile. First you taste the chocolate, then a few seconds later comes some cinnamon, then you swallow and whoa!! There's the cayenne pepper! Pretty crazy that she even thought to try this, but it works! If I was a fan of spicy food I'd eat this all day. Brown Butter Almond Brittle is my second favorite flavor. Salty, sweet, and chunks of almond brittle mixed in...it's like eating brown sugar ice cream. I always get this when it's available, unfortunately it's a seasonal flavor so sometimes I have to wait a few months. On top of the ice cream each shop makes their own waffle cones...if you're lucky you'll see them make yours right in front of your eyes before they put your ice cream in it. I highly recommend eating Jeni's ice cream with one of their waffle cones. I'm so glad that she finally opened up a shop near me...no more traveling to the Short North just for ice cream (and Grandview before that). Each store is classy and has interesting things throughout, my favorite is the classic milk jug hanging lights--I so want some of these in my kitchen. Be warned though, once you try Jeni's ice cream, other ice creams will only taste good to you if you're on a budget. I can no longer eat at Graeters, UDF, or Denise's because they all taste like dirt when my mind wonders to the fancy flavors back at my local Jeni's. Definitely one of the best places in Columbus to go for dessert as well as in the US and probably the world.

Jeni's makes great ice cream. They love what they do and they do it well. That's all you can ask for.

This is the best ice cream I have ever had in my entire life. Fantastic flavours. I never would have thought spicy-hot ice cream would work but it does and it's fantastic! Sundaes are awesome too. Every ingredient is perfection.

  • Matt W.

Jeni's ice cream has spread from a small stand at the North Market to a small empire of stores in the Columbus area, yet each one manages to feel like a unique experience - there are no cookie cutters here, except for the ones used to make their delicious macaroons for ice cream sandwiches! The Dublin location is part of the "Old Dublin" area at High and 161, and features a comfortable seating area with several tables and a long counter for people who want to eat in. The service area features a long case of the various flavors, blackboards with the current featured ice cream, seasonal selections, and sundaes. French Press coffee and dry sodas compliment your ice cream in summer or winter, and the staff has always been friendly and more than willing to let you sample to your heart's content before ordering! The only warning is to keep an eye on when you want to go for your ice cream - at peak hours, lines are frequently going out the door, and because they share parking with several other shops, finding a space can become a challenge.

So good. Was recommended by a friend. We stopped by on our way out of town. Wish I had gotten the recommendation earlier, so we could have gone more than once. The Roxbury road was chock full of goodies but retained the creaminess. my husband had the chocomole which had the required heat on the back end but still was deliciously sweet and creamy. I wish I could have tried most of the flavors, we had a really hard time making our minds up . Good thing we don't have these at home or I would weigh 500 lbs! It's that good ! Just writing this has made my mouth water and I can't get the thought of delish, creamy goodness out of my mind..

ONE MEASLY scoop is $4.00!!! Absolutely rediculus! Its good but not that good, I promise. Ben & jerrys is better.

Jeni's has okay ice cream. But, it is definitely not a place for a family. The ice cream is overpriced. The portions are micro sized. I was definitely not impressed.

  • Mike D.

Incredible. I don't know how they pack so much flavor into these scoops. They are simply delicious. For once, premium ice cream seems to not just be about how much butterfat they can cram in there, but about taste! I am grateful to live in Columbus where I can experience this fine ice cream whenever I get the whim. There is something for both the traditional and the adventurer. Their flavors range from Belgian Milk Chocolate to Queen City Cayenne. I really think it's not so much something that can be put into words. Try it out yourself.

I am sure that the Jeni's lovers will loathe my review, but I have to be honest. I really don't like Jeni's Ice Cream, much to the dismay of my wife. Let me explain. I am not totally anti-trendy, like some folks can be, in fact I own an iPhone and an iPad and love most of Apple's products...where am I going with this? Well, this place is trendy. You will notice that they have locations in wealthy areas, because they appeal to the trendy, Starbucks (am I years behind on that one? what's more current?) crowd. If you like Grandview Heights, and places like Trattoria Roma, Spaggio's, and Figlio's, then you will probably like Jeni's Ice Cream. It's a status product. You're cool if you can rattle off the unique and rare flavor combinations. But to me, food is not good because it is trendy or fancy. Ever been to a restaurant that is trying so hard to be fancy that their food is terrible? Serving you cold wheat grass or water cress lobster soup? Jeni's is the Ice Cream equivalent to trying too hard to be trendy and fancy. I am not trying to insult people who enjoy these things, in fact when I like something that happens to be trendy (see iPad and iPhone), I am just as likely to get wrapped up in it. But when it comes down to my favorite past time (eating ridiculously good food), trendy takes a back seat and down right awesomeness in flavor (inversely proportional with good health in my opinion) takes precedence. That might be part of my problem, I can't convert to the trendy lifestyle because I don't like the (keyword: organic) food, even IF it is way healthier for me...believe me, I wish I could... That said, when it comes to ice cream, I am looking for something that is so good and so bad for me that I will feel as though I have sinned as I sit there in pain from eating so much and being so gluttonous...give me Graeter's 8 days a week...

  • Z K.

I tried several of the flavors which the guys working we're more than happy to supply, then I bought a small cup with 2 different kinds. I had the sweet potato marshmallow & the almond butter brittle. Both were fan freakin tastic!!! Friends had a peanut butter and salted caramel & creamy milk chocolate. We all licked our bowls. If we can go back we most certainly will as we don't live in town, we relied on fellow helpers and were not let down. This place has some crazy late hours and are open like every day!

  • Anthony K.

Expensive for ice cream? Absolutely. Worth every penny? Without a doubt. Easily some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Incredibly creamy with unique takes on traditional flavors. Especially happy to see they source vanilla beans from Uganda.

  • Allie L.

Jeni's is the only ice cream that I love so you should know that going into it. Since I can't really review the ice cream (since I love it all so much), I'll share why I love this location! - A great place to get a bite of ice cream after shopping around the Sawmill area - Pretty easy parking - Great restaurants nearby - Starbucks next door - Lots of seating!

  • Saemlinh I.

Very friendly service with an awesome set of suggestions and exotic assortment of ice cream, yogurt, sorbet, etc. The one star ding to their rating was because I felt like a shake, and they don't have a blender. Their closest approximation to an ice cream drink was a float in pop.

  • Caroline W.

Jeni's ice cream is amazing. It's silky, sweet, delicious and authentic. What do I mean by "authentic"? Well, lots of places make ice cream, let's use vanilla as an easy example, with regular milk or cream and vanilla extract. Jeni's uses the highest quality cream in the area (Snowville Creamery FTW!) then uses actual vanilla beans to make the ice cream. The quality of the ingredients seriously changes the flavor and overall texture and quality of the ice cream and this is why Jeni's is the best. Don't believe me? Make your own - if you make everything the same with the exception being the cream alone, you'll taste a HUGE difference. Same with if you just replaced vanilla extract with the actual bean. However, all this high-quality fancy jazzy stuff makes Jeni's pricey. But, it's sugar filled bad-for-you goodness so you shouldn't eat it too often anyway. So, as a once in a while indulgence, do it. This particular location is situated in the heart of historic downtown Dublin. There is a parking lot behind it but also street parking around it. There's just enough room inside for the ice cream counter and a few tables. We were here late so it was pretty dead but I imagine during peak-times this place can get pretty packed. In looking at the flavors, you'll notice that while Jeni's has the basics - chocolate, peanut butter, vanilla, coffee, etc. - they also have some really odd flavors like goat cheese with red cherries. Odd, yes, but also very delicious. My favorite two flavors though are pistachio with honey and whiskey with peanuts. If Jeni's ever starts selling ice cream in Cincinnati, then Graeter's is in trouble.

Love trying all of the different flavors. A fun place to bring family and friends, a great location in the heart of downtown Dublin. Clean location. Love the chalkboards for the kiddos!

Treat your taste buds to a delight! Be adventuresome! Sample a variety you never thought you would eat! Very novel flavors that I would never have thought I would try, but they turn out oh so awesome! I particularly love the pear riesling as well as their macaroons! Staff enjoy what they are doing and always encourage you to sample.

I keep falling more and more in love with Jeni's with every visit. It might be getting ridiculous... Nah. Needless to say, I was excited to find a Jeni's in this cute little Dublin town center on my way to a work meeting. I went on a random, chilly day so it wasn't busy at all. It makes the prospect of future work meetings at the same location much more exciting. Friendly service, delicious ice cream, and they packed a pint with dry ice and a cooler for me to take back to Cincinnati. While a pint of poached pear Riesling that isn't fresh from the store isn't -quite- as good, it definitely will tide me over until my next visit.

  • Jennie K.

Jeni, I'm sold. I came here with my best friend, who has been singing your praises for years. As soon as I booked my flight to Ohio, she said we would be visiting multiple times. I tried as many of the unique flavors as I could without feeling guilty (which was a lot!), and when I came back to CA, I bought the cookbook. Another weapon in my fatten-the-boyfriend-up arsenal! (He is a big fan of the sour beer sorbet.) The experiences I had here were incredibly pleasant, largely due to the great staff and, of course, the delicious ice cream.

  • Libby R.

I first met Jeni at the Short North. I liked her right away. But I like to see things from all sides...and locations. So when I begged my cousin for one more trip to Jeni's before I returned to LA, she opted for the Dublin location, just to change things up. I actually preferred this location to the one at the Short North - don't get me wrong, I loved that local too, especially the nice staff and proximity to the bars. However, this location was much more family/sit and talk friendly. It was bigger, cleaner and there were better parking options for folks with a hankering for ice cream. This time, I got the two flavors I knew were naughty but I just had to have Gravel Road and Toasted Almond Brown Butter. OM F G. It was soooooo amazing. I am even more grateful to this site as the adorable bespeckled ice cream slinger with the black rimmed glasses let me know that I could get Jeni's shipped, for a price OR I could venture to my city of Los Angeles and a tiny store on La Brea to sample Jeni's wares in the comfort of my home. He was like a little ice cream scooping angel...

I don't know why everyone seems to love this place around here, it's mediocre at best. The flavors include things like almond butter crisp and salted caramel(their most popular flavor), but just doesn't hit the spot for me. The people working here are young and very rude. I would skip this place and try Menchie's instead.

Call me crazy, but I ventured here this weekend on a Sunny day. Bad idea, because of the crowd, but score for my stomach. I was always weary of Jeni's and had heard the name and place pop up for the past two years, but I merely passed it off as some yuppie yogurt establishment. Wrong, wrong, WRONG! Jeni's is fabulous, unique flavors, and the best part is it's all handmade, grown ingredients. it really doesn't get any better than that. It's one of those places where you need to shut down your brain's past experience in flavors, and just try. I didn't in this case, because it was so busy to sit and try everything, but I heard people around me talk about how wonderful some of these god awful sounding flavors really were. I went for the subtle approach and just had a scoop of poached pear, and vanilla bean on their made on site waffle cone. It was wonderful. The husband got a traditional rootbeer float with Vanilla Bean, and my husband the man who hates most ice-cream that man has to offer, exclaimed that he loved it and that he would be back in a heart-beat. Bravo, Jeni's! Bravo!

Outstanding quality of ice cream! They keep their menu updated with new flavors to try quite often. Be sure to ask for samples of anything and everything that sounds even slightly worthwhile. They'll allow as many samples as you require to make your decision. Honestly, every flavor I've sampled tasted amazing so you can't go wrong!

THE BEST ICE CREAM I HAVE EVER HAD, HANDS DOWN!!! Had Ugandan Vanilla Bean and was instantly in heaven. I cannot even describe how wonderful this ice cream was. Everything about it is perfect, even the atmosphere. I loved this so much, worth a trip all the way to Ohio just for this!! OMG!!!!!!!! :D

Jeni's certainly gets the award for the strangest ice cream place with flavors that include spicy cayenne pepper, goat cheese, sea salt and other ingredients never meant to be paired with ice cream. Do these bizarre combinations of sweet and savory work? Well that's debatable. I give them praise for trying something different. On one visit, I tried Buckeye State: peanut butter and chocolate with roasted almonds. I had a sundae customized with a scoop of that, a scoop of some brittle road or something like that (I forgot what it was), and chocolate and caramel sauce. It was orgasmically delicious. Now with that experience, I understand the draw of Jeni's. It's gourmet ice cream. But to be fair, I was half drunk and just about anything would have been supremely delectable. On my first visit I also had some of their gourmet coffee brewed in a French press. I have always heard that is the best method for brewing coffee and I would have to agree. That was some of the best coffee I've ever had and it wasn't even flavored, just regular old coffee flavored coffee. I tried a bite of my son's Cherry Lambic Sorbet and that was mouth watering also. On another visit I tried the peanut butter flavor with cayenne pepper. What was interesting about it was the way the flavors waited in line to hit your taste buds. First I tasted the peanut butter, then after that was gone I felt the subtle burn on the back of my tongue. It wasn't eye watering, nose running, fiery diarrhea causing hot like you would think of cayenne pepper. It was subtle, just enough to let you know it was there and only in the back of your mouth, only after the peanut butter had danced its turn across your tongue. The pepper waits patiently for its turn to shine. It was a very strange experience: spicy ice cream and delayed taste. But that's all it was: a strange experience. It didn't do anything to improve the flavor of the ice cream. It didn't compliment it at all. It was just there. I feel like if you're going to do something outlandish with food, make it have a purpose. Make it flavors that at least go together well, or make it healthy or something. These ridiculous flavors were just invented to be ridiculous. While I will say it is divine ice cream, I think the odd flavors are a bit of a gimmick. It's a novelty. It's something you eat just so you can say you did it. I know all of you devoted Jeni's groupies will hate me for this, but really I don't think those bizarro ingredients serve a purpose. You put chocolate sauce on it because it tastes good and combines well with the other flavors. Why in the name of all that is fattening would you add cayenne pepper or salt to ice cream? It really doesn't enhance the flavor of the ice cream and in fact they are so opposite, it's like you're just eating two different things. It was good but underwhelming and not really worth the exorbitant price. So given the starkly different experience I had the two times I went, I'm on the fence about Jeni's. It's good but it's overrated and over priced. I think if I was out for ice cream I would go to Graeter's or Cold Stone Creamery instead. Jeni's is the kind of thing I would do if I'm in the neighborhood or if I'm high as a kite and have a terrible case of the munchies and need something weird to eat. Perhaps the most notable thing about both of the Jeni's locations I went to was the ambiance. It is beautiful and modern and set in stunningly beautiful, rich bastard neighborhoods that are awe inspiring and pleasant to poor white trash like myself. Just being there is part of the experience. This is not the kind of place you get take out. You sit and stay a while. The service in both locations was mostly excellent. They'll let you try samples of anything and they're friendly and enthusiastic about it. Not quite so good in the Powell location.

Context: Ice cream after lunch Time of Visit: Saturday, 1:30PM I scream. You scream. We all scream...for what I would absolutely consider to be the best ice cream in Central Ohio. At this location, as with all Jeni's stores, expect lines at all times (long lines during peak hours). However, I don't consider a moderate line to be a bad thing: it gives you a chance to browse their flavor list and ponder what you would like to get. They have standard flavors, but also seasonal flavors that are only available for limited times. The best tip I can provide is make sure to SAMPLE the flavors before you order: I cannot stress this enough. Their most famous flavor is salty caramel, which is a must for Jeni's neophytes. My favorites include Queen City Cayenne, Dark Chocolate, and Brambleberry Crisp. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating to sample requests. Also, do not be afraid to ask them what their favorites are and what they order: their combinations are always pretty impressive. Lastly, expect $5 per person for their ice cream (sometimes more): this might seem pricey, but after you try it you will realize it was totally worth it. If you are looking for an ice cream flavor adventure, Jeni's is the place to go. I have been, and will continue to be, a patron of Jeni's: it might be the best ice cream I have ever had in my life.

Definitely a must try if you are in Dublin or the area! Interesting combinations that somehow work! I tried the brown butter almond brittle and it was amazing! I wanted to try their goat cheese and cherry but they were out... My coworker tried the Loveless Bisquits & Peach Jam and swore by it (they use real bisquits from the famous Loveless Cafe). Definitely a place to seek out!

Sacrilege! Lightning strikes! Plague of locusts! Boo this man! Yes, I fully expect all of the above statements to be made in response to giving the great Jenis a mere 3 stars. And this doesn't mean I don't like Jenis, far from it. Im just not ready to sing exaltations and worship at the altar of St. Jeni. There are certain flavors that I love, such as Queen City Cayenne and Backyard Buttermint. There are others that I downright loathe, such as Goat Cheese and Whatever and anything with cardamom or lavender. I'm also not overly enamoured with some of the popular flavors like Gravel Road and Salty Caramel. Too salty, too nutty and, weirdly, too sandy. All things considered, I'd rather just have my pick of a bunch of choices of stuff that I like, than having to immediately disqualify a good portion of the choices, and choose from 4 or 5 things that are palatable. Good on Jeni for repping C-Bus and all that good stuff, but I think Columbusites are a little too overzealous in singing her praises in an effort to claim something local, that is well-known nationally. I'd prefer a good scoop of Mint Chocolate Chip from Graeters or Handels on a hot summer day any day of the week, to be honest.

What a treat! I never dreamed that I'd have amazing artisan ice cream while visiting Dublin, OH for a conference. Jeni's is based in Columbus, but luckily for us, this Dublin location had just opened. Not only does the freshly made ice cream come in all sorts of delicious and creative flavors, but on top of that, the ice creams are made with local organic dairy from grassfed Ohio cows, and the other ingredients come from local farms. The staff were incredibly friendly and let me sample just about all of the 25 or so flavors they had that day. There were about 12 signature flavors, which they carry regularly, and about 12 seasonal flavors. Some highlights from that night included: gravel road, Queen City cayenne, thai chili, riesling poached pear, cherry lambic, goat cheese w/roasted red cherries, crème fraîche w/Amarena cherries, kona stout, lime cardamon yogurt, and cognac. I got a small cup with 1/2 Queen City cayenne and 1/2 lime cardamon, and I brought a pint of cognac back to the hotel for my roommate. In addition to all those wonderful flavors, they also had a very tempting selection of sundaes. The best part is, you don't even have to travel to Ohio to enjoy Jeni's. They ship pretty much everywhere in the U.S. Highly recommended if you're ever in Dublin!

  • A A.

I will need to really practice not over-indulging here. With names that make me respond in the affirmative, every time I am asked, "do you want to taste..?" Mmm, how many can I taste? The Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet taste like fresh, creamy pears (how do they do that?), the Pistachio & Honey leaves you feeling like you've found utopia. I can't wait to try more and more flavors.

I'm making the tour of Jeni's shops. It's not a bad thing. LOL Tried the Zuchinni Bread and Parmesan and the new Beetcake flavors last night. I liked both, the beetcake almost tastes like a carrot cake, and the zuch bread tasted just like that....zuch bread! Very tasty, but alas, I caved and went with my old favorite (again!), Goat Cheese and Cherry. The one thing I did change was that I got it in a cake cone this time. So glad I did, very tasty.

  • George Y.

Needless to say, Jeni's is the best. I mostly enjoy ice cream that isn't too sweet or rich (Graeters) and plays with unique ingredients. Jeni's is perfect in this sense. Some of my favorite flavors are Brown Butter Almond Brittle, Brambleberry Crisp, Sweet Corn & Black Raspberries, Goat Cheese & Cognac Figs, & Salty Caramel. All I can really say to people who stop at a Jeni's is try something new. Don't go for chocolate or vanilla, go for Queen City Cayenne or Parmesan & Zucchini Bread (yes, that's an ice cream). Something you would think does not belong in an ice cream. You may surprise yourself. Vanilla can be found in your local grocer.

    (5)
  • Jim Z.

The Vanilla is to die for. I have been in Columbus a long time, and im not sure if ice cream can get much better.

I've never been accused of being gourmet, so maybe that's part of the reason for my three-star rating of a place that everyone seems to rave about lately. Since it was my first time visiting, I appreciated that they let you have samples of as many flavors as you'd like. I tried a cherry sorbet, pear reisling and the buckeye state. I decided to order a small Buckeye State and thought it was good. The flavors all worked together; it was definitely peanut butter and chocolate, without going overboard on either flavor. Impressive, actually. BUT...the 30 minute wait in a ridiculously long line left me thinking the whole time, "Is this really worth it?" After everything I'd heard, I assumed so, but in the end I felt like it was a case of being over-hyped. They have unique flavors and it tastes good, but the rest of the experience was just "okay." We had a hard time finding parking near the restaurant. It's a busy area, which is a great for Old Dublin and something I expected given all the unique shops in the area. But once we found a spot and walked to the store, we had to stand in line for 30 minutes for our little scoop. Take note that you can pick up a pint of Jeni's at Whole Foods just up the street (161 & Sawmill), if you just want to try out the flavors. And, if you don't mind spending $9.99 for a pint of ice cream. Then, if you fall madly in love, head down the street to Old Dublin for the full experience. Just keep in mind that "the full experience" might involve a pretty significant wait.

I've always heard such GREAT things about Jeni's. Somehow, I've lived here for 8 years and still hadn't been. So I finally did it! Its expensive, but delicious. I doubt I'd wait in line for as long as I did this time, it was about 30 min.... The backyard mint is VERY tasty, and the cookies looked great too! I have to say I wasn't as impressed with the salty caramel everyone loves. I thought it tasted like burnt popcorn. I'll be back, but only for special occasions! Its still pretty pricey for ice cream.

    (4)
  • Miss J.

It melts in your mouth, and not just because it's frozen. Was very good. Also, very expensive. Would go back more if it wasn't so pricey.

  • Bob B.

Jeni's came very highly recommended by a ton of people at work so I decided to try it. It was ice cream (so it was good), but it's not worth writing home about. I tried several samples. I love most black currant items, but their black currant frozen yogurt didn't seem that great. Their description of the dark chocolate flavor is pretty much spot on when it says that it tastes like the inside of a truffle. I should have gone with that, but I chose to go with the Turtle Sundae. Meh.

  • Rebecca C.

It was a nice summer evening, so of course there is a line, but the line moves quick. Hell, even after waiting in line I still didnt know what I wanted and had to make a snap decision. And it was fantastic! There are parking lots near this location that are convenient, so its only a short around the corner walk from someplace to park.

I just knew this place was going to be awesome. Years ago I read about Jeni's and ordered same-day delivery as Christmas gifts for my family who were living in another state. I wished I ordered for myself, but FINALLY this week I got to try Jeni's at the store itself! The scoopers let me taste at least eight flavors, all which I really liked, but we settled on getting a "study" of four half scoops to share- pistachio and honey, wildberry lavender, bangkok chili, and buckeye. All were excellent, but my favorite had to be the wildberry lavender. Packed with flavor and a super thick and creamy texture. I could barely finish this, even sharing with it someone. I would love to go back and try one of their interesting sundaes!

    (5)
  • Ron R.

Absolutely incredible ice cream. I had the Whiskey and Pecan ice cream, and it was simply awesome. This place could be a little trendy for some with some very unique flavors available, but it is definitely a place not to miss.

Jeni's ice cream. What can I say other than you make it extremely difficult to eat any other brand of ice cream out there. You can taste the quality ingredients, and where else can you eat Brambleberry ice cream?!?!? And the Pear and Riesling? Wow. As for the crowds, I've always visited at random times, so i've been served quick, but I could see it being an issue. I would visit everyday if it wasn't for the price. $4 for a small ice cream that I can eat in 2 minutes is a bit steep, but on the flip side, if it was any cheaper, I would visit every.single.day . And the buttons on my shorts would be popping off. Its like flying first class...once you do it, you'll never wanna fly coach again...

Oh, Jeni's. What can I say about you that hasn't already been said? I've always been an adventurous eater since I was a kid. I love trying new things and new combinations of things, so Jeni's is my ice cream heaven, but even their "standard" flavors are fantastic. I went last night and had a scoop of Bangkok Peanut with a scoop of Dark Chocolate and it was heavenly. The prices are a little high (although worth it, and they do pack a surprisingly large portion of ice cream into the seemingly tiny cups) so it isn't my everyday choice. But it is a must-have for special treats or visits from out-of-towners!

Ice cream goodness. Anytime anybody visits Ohio I take them to jenis, theres so much people can like and enjoy here, the quality is impeccable. I prefer queen city cayenne, and bramble berry.

I LOVE Jeni's!!! I like to call it the "Grown Up" Ice Cream shop! The creative flavors are absolutely amazing, and the staff ALWAYS has great suggestions of crazy combinations of flavors! My advice would be to go in with an open mind and try something NEW!!! ENJOY!

I love Jeni's ice cream. If you've never been, it's a must. Her flavors are unique, and they give you free samples so you can try what intrigues you and narrow down what pleases your pallet. I say "intrigues" because they serve flavors you've likely never seen anywhere else: Grapefruit hibiscus, Goat Cheese and Roasted Red Cherries, Lime Cardamom, Corn and Blackberry... the list goes on. If you're not adventurous, don't worry, they have some standard flavors, too. If you're like me, you'll end up with a trio! (3 mini scoops.) My favorite trio combo is their salty caramel, queen city cayenne, and honey vanilla bean. Your first bite of queen city cayenne will be a tongue twisting treat - you first taste the cool chocolate, then about 6 seconds later, you catch the hot cayennne... I like the Dublin location because it's closer to home and parking is easier. Yay Jeni!

Dear Jeni's, What would Columbus do without you? I'm afraid we would be lost souls. Jeni's is quickly becoming a claim to fame for Columbus. So now, along with our crazy dedication to our beloved Buckeyes, we have devoted ourselves to Jeni's. Reasons why I like the Dublin location: -Parking is easy -Staff is very helpful and friendly -Seating out and in I recently took a few friends to experience Jeni's for the first time. We ended up buying a few pints to take and share with a friend. For the first timers, the staff was helpful in guiding them to a flavor they would enjoy. Salty carmel and goat cheese are my favorites. The only thing I dislike about Jeni's is the price. For ten dollars a pint I kind of want it to have magical powers. I guess that's part of the allure, I'm cheap so it's something I treat myself to a few times a year. Bottom line: If you've never experienced Jeni's, do it. It's a taste you won't regret!

Our fave stop for ice cream. We have been to several Jeni's locations - including the tiny little window in German Village. The Dublin location is within biking distance from our home. Very interesting and unusual flavors - be sure to sample as many as you'd like, they really don't mind at all! My favorite is Brown Butter Almond Brittle, or maybe Salty Caramel, or maybe Backyard Mint, or Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet, or Whiskey and Pecans (with OYO Whiskey). You get the idea. Visit jenis.com to check them all out!

While in here for the first time I had a desire to taste as many flavors before I felt like too much of a pain. Feeling adventurous I had to go for at least one of the unique flavors I wouldn't be able to find any where else. After much thought and helpful advice from the girl behind the counter I went with Thai Chili. In my head I really wasn't sure what to expect from an ice cream flavor with a spicy taste. As soon as it was in my mouth it wasn't spicy at all until a little after, which wasn't overwelmingly hot just added a little zing. The prices are a bit expensive for what you are getting, but it is not too bad as different change from what you would expect at an ice cream parlor. They service is probably the best I have ever seen when it comes to ice cream parlors. Usually I don't try as many flavors before jumping into a decision, probably mostly because the person behind the counter looks like they want to push you along. This is not the case at all here they want you to try a bunch of flavors and get you something that you absolutely will enjoy. I would recommend this place to anyone that has an adventurous taste and loves ice cream.

I brought a business associate here from out of town after trying another graet local ice cream place which she liked well. I was so proud of my home town after our experience here. The girl behind the counter was so enthusiastic about showing her all of the great flavors, and even though they were very busy, she probably gave her about 15 samples. Our ice cream was phenomenal as always and it's so refreshing to see employees who have so much love and passion for their work. Thank you so much Jeni for making the C'bus an even better place to live!

You simply cant go wrong with Jeni's. This is some of the best ice cream I have ever had. The interesting flavors are great. It is always nice to try something new.

Awesome Ice-Cream. I m sure that I do not have to write much because I know that everyone else has written the things that i was going to say. The vast flavors that are available are awesome. They are not your common ice cream flavors that you may be used to. But they sure are delicious. I tend to stick with the Salty Caramel and the Butter Almond Brittle for the most part on a sugar cone.

    (5)
  • Rachel S.

The ice cream here, both for eat in and take out, is delicious. The line can be long and the prices are high, but it is some of the best artisanal ice cream I have had. I particularly liked the salty caramel and the buckeye flavors.

  • Paul A.

I wandered into Jeni's after dinner in Dublin. The ice cream is just crazy good. I tasted a couple of flavors (Black Currant, Belgian Chocolate) and settled on Salty Carmel. Ya ever had a taste for something and what ya get just nails it? This was the Salty Carmel. There were other way out flavors that had such great descriptions it was tempting to try them all, but this will give me an excuse to come back here. Outstanding. Jeni good, so good.

  • el O G.

What more is to be said? The ice cream is fantastic as well as the macarons; they use unique flavors and try to use local ingredients. Service is quick and attentive. This emcompasses all Jeni's locations, but this one is closest to my residence. The only compliant is the price, but really you have to pay for quality stuff.

  • Lindsay B.

I love to go here for ice cream! I actually am not an ice cream fan, but Jeni's is so different. They will let you try samples of the flavors before you choose so don't be overwhelmed by trying to choose from all the very different flavors. My favorite is actually a seasonal flavor, root beer. I also like the cherry lambic, salty carmel, honey vanilla bean, and the goat cheese and cherry.

    (4)
  • Trent C.

Jeni's Ice Cream is simply sublime. Everyone raves about Graeter's but I think Jeni's runs circles around them. Every ice cream is made from only the freshest ingredients available and, while there are some flavours that are always on the menu, there are seasonal flavours featured year found. I've had the pleasure to enjoy Jeni's at several of their locations in the Columbus area over the last 5 years and have never had a bad experience. I haven't even found ice cream to rival Jeni's in Chicago, San Francisco or Los Angeles. People complain about the prices sometimes, but $5 for 3 scoops of hand-made original flavours is not asking much. Yes, the flavours are out there but at Jeni's they expect you to branch out and try new things (novel concept, eh?). Aside from scoops, they offer sundaes and other concoctions to further enhance your experience. Skeptical about liking a flavour, not a problem, you can sample each and every flavour to your hearts content. A few flavours that are absolute must haves are the Cherry Lambic, Wildberry Lavender, Riesling Poached Pear, Sweet Corn and Black Raspberries (yes, corn) and Goat Cheese and Red Cherries. The Dublin location is by far the quietest Jeni's that I've been to in the Columbus area. Located in historic Dublin this place is just a good as the other Jeni's in Columbus.

    (5)
  • Jonathan P.

One of a kind...unique flavors, interesting combinations, and a friendly staff. Nice location too. A small cone is more than enough. I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the greater Columbus area.

At this point complimenting Jeni's ice cream seems a little bit like walking up to Jessica Biel and saying "gee you look pretty good in that dress" or telling Tiger Woods "You sure know how to hit that little white ball. . " I think it's pretty common knowledge that Jeni's is amazing but I just don't think I could forgive myself if I didn't take a sec profess my undying love for this local sweet cool goodness. I love so many flavors at Jenis from the chocolate zinfandel, salty caramel, and brown butter almond brittle to the basic strawberry and the pear reisling sorbet. I love that Jeni's is always surprising me with flavors lilke sweet corn and rasberry. I love that you can sample as many flavors as you like and never feel rushed. I love that you never know what you will find when you walk though the door. Iv'e actually dumped a boy before because he told me he preferred . . .a different ice cream place (OK he was also annoying, used the wrong form of to/too and had bad taste in clothes . . but seriously the ice cream thing was the . . last . . .straw). Jeni's is one of my favorite things about Columbus, I love that it is local, made in small batches, unique and tasty. Everytime I have a friend visit from out of town, I always take them to Jeni's. Jeni's I heart you ( *wink* call me).

This place is a must go if you are in the Columbus area (there are a few locations so find the closest one). The flavors are great and unique - stuff you would noever think of combining into an ice cream flavor, such as chocolate and cayene papper, Erex is hooked on it also and has them ship ice cream around the country for his family. • Colt E.

I am going to venture so far as to say that this is some of the best, and definitely the most original, ice cream in the entire country. While visiting Columbus my friend brought me here and I ended up brining 6 pints of the amazing stuff back with me to Chicago. The service was patient and friendly as I labored to make my selections and sample many of their flavors. Each and every flavor is unique and amazing. This is a must try for anyone passing through Columbus.

I fell in love with Jeni's ice cream the first time I visited Columbus, Ohio and now every time I'm in town, I have to go at least once... Even if it's 20 degrees outside! Favorite flavors: Brown Butter Almond Brittle Pistachio & Honey Salty Caramel Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet Sweet Corn & Black Raspberries - Seasonal, Fall White Chocolate Peppermint - Seasonal, Winter Banana & French Toast - Seasonal, Winter All their ice creams are made with the best ingredients, and you can taste the quality. I love how you can really taste the flavors of the ice creams, without that overbearing sweetness. I've been seeing Jeni's at Whole Foods recently. It's THAT good that it has traveled all the way to the west coast! But it's just not the same as getting it scooped at the ice cream parlor! And they don't sell the delicious seasonal flavors at the market.

  • Mike W.

I mean.... it's Jeni's! Who can pass her up? This one is convenient for me because it's near my job. Finding parking can be a little tricky at times as this is on the corner in busy uptown Dublin. They are always friendly and a little busy at times. I'll be back, Jeni's from the block.

Made a special point to try Jeni's ice cream when I came to visit my friend Beth in Ohio. After all, it's been on the Food Network! The ice cream here is as unique and creamy as I'd hoped it would be. So many weird flavors. And I was never disappointed. I ate here many times during my time in Ohio. And take heed America, you can order Jeni's on line and have it delivered to your home!

  • Andrea J.

This is my second favorite ice cream place of ALL TIME! I love that they give you samples because I had the hardest time picking the flavor that I wanted. I finally decided on a seasonal flavor - dark chocolate peppermint. It was amazing! I think the salted caramel will be my go to flavor moving forward. I love that they come up with interesting, unique flavors.

Just got my ice cream in the mail today. I am not sure I can describe in words how my husband & I felt while eating this life changing ice cream. Got four flavors, lined them up on the table grabbed spoons and went to town! Quite expensive but worth it. Wish it was in chicago. Really fast shipping, I ordered it on Monday night(while in bed watching Food Network's-Best Thing I Ever Ate) and got it Wednesday. Keep doin what you're doin Jeni's.

I went into Jeni's today...OMG, why haven't my fellow Yelpers told me about this place sooner! The ice cream is so delicious, savory, creamy without being overly sweet. I had the Almond Brittle and Salty Carmel in a cone which was very good. Then, I took home Black Coffee, Scandinavian spice (tastes like Chai tea without the tea) and Almond Brittle. AND, the customer service is top notch, friendly, helpful and they give out free samples. Which is good because I thought I would like the Thai Chilli but it was too spicy for me but people who like cayenne would love this flavor. So, always taste before purchasing so you have a wonderful Jeni's experience. The ice cream is pricey though but worth it for an occasional treat. Also, the store is nice and clean and convenient. I will be a repeat customer.

  • Mike C.

I love Jeni's ice cream, but this Jeni's is a bit too sterile and unfriendly compared to the others. They do of course have the same premium quality ice creams that you expect from Jeni's, but I always get a weird vibe coming in here. I think the manufactured small towniness that Dublin attempts to permeate rubs off a little here. It looks nice on the outside, but the staff doesn't feel very welcoming and neither does the interior of the building. Also, no exterior seating (that I can find), and walking across the street to the little Dublin village square doesn't count!

    (3)
  • Lucy H.

    (5)
  • Thomas O.

I love me some Jenis! When I saw the peach flavor was out I made sure to be there the next day! This location is in a nice area and was not as crowded as the short north location! It's nice that you can get your ice cream and walk around the little town!

I am not a huge fan of ice cream but I can never pass up Jeni's, the variety and creativity in the flavors and the overall quality and goodnness is fantastic. Must have flavors include: Reisling Pear, Brambleberry Crunch & Salted Caramel!!

Anyone who knows me knows I love Jeni's. This location is much larger than any I have visited in the past but the service here was not what I had come to expect from Jeni's. Great ice cream but the staff seemed bored and uninterested. They did not greet us with the usual Jeni's friendliness.

    (3)

I mean.... it's Jeni's! Who can pass her up? This one is convenient for me because it's near my job. Finding parking can be a little tricky at times as this is on the corner in busy uptown Dublin. They are always friendly and a little busy at times. I'll be back, Jeni's from the block.

Expensive for ice cream? Absolutely. Worth every penny? Without a doubt. Easily some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Incredibly creamy with unique takes on traditional flavors. Especially happy to see they source vanilla beans from Uganda.

Bravo!

  • Zach T.

OMG!!!!!!!! :D

  • Mike D.

    (5)
  • Lindsay B.

I love to go here for ice cream! I actually am not an ice cream fan, but Jeni's is so different. They will let you try samples of the flavors before you choose so don't be overwhelmed by trying to choose from all the very different flavors. My favorite is actually a seasonal flavor, root beer. I also like the cherry lambic, salty carmel, honey vanilla bean, and the goat cheese and cherry.

One of a kind...unique flavors, interesting combinations, and a friendly staff. Nice location too. A small cone is more than enough. I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the greater Columbus area.

Jeni's has okay ice cream. But, it is definitely not a place for a family. The ice cream is overpriced. The portions are micro sized. I was definitely not impressed.

  • Sarah W.

ENJOY!

  • Emilie S.

Yay Jeni!
