Best seafood I've had in columbus (I'm from Maryland so it's hard to make me happy when it comes to seafood) Do yourself a favor-get the lobster bisque. I dream about it. Service was the best I've ever had, drinks were the best I've had. I even mentioned I didn't love one I was drinking, and even though I was almost done with it-they made me a new one and took the other one off the tab. Def not necessary but i loved it. Crime brûlée was amaze as well. Just go here. You won't regret it.

I'm a fan, but not necessarily in any rush to go back anytime soon. I prefer the ambiance of the interior part of the restaurant as opposed to the patio - lower lighting and more intimate inside. Lobster bisque was very good and serving sizes were plentiful. I didn't think the crispy ginger coating for my fish was seasoned enough, so I had to add salt for flavoring. Sides were nice - sticky rice and vegies. The bread and butter was the highlight for me - yum.

I am back here to give Mitchell's another chance to serve me a decent meal. I arrived ordered a cup of coffee. The waiter said none was made but he can make some. So when the coffee was brought to my table I tried it and it was not good coffee. A restaurant of this caliber should be serving a French pressed coffee or at least be able to serve a decent cup of coffee. We ordered a shrimp cocktail and when it came out it was more of some shrimp thrown onto a plate and served with cocktail sauce. To my disappointment the shrimp was rubbery and tasted old. I then got my main entree which was seafood Americana. It was suppose to be served over roasted redskin potatoes. The potatoes were served on the side and were burnt. I sent it back and it arrived the same way except the potatoes were not burnt. The shrimp in the dish were rubbery also the scallops were slightly underdone. For some reason they put two pieces of inedible bread on the bottom and covered it with seafood gravy mixture which was to salty. I am disappointed I was hoping that this restaurant would take action to correct the issues and strive to put out a good product to its customers. Again if you want a good seafood dinner I am afraid that this is not the place to go until they fix the issues with the freshness of there seafood and the way it is cooked and presented. P.S. It's 6 pm and this restaurant is practically empty. I am trying to pay my check and there systems are down. Makes you wonder how long this establishment will continue to operate.

Hubby and I ventured here to try their lobster and shrimp BLT roll because it's their August sandwich special on Mondays only. We started out with two ice teas with lemon and shared a bowl of clam chowder. I really like their clam chowder as I forgot to take a picture of it because I couldn't wait to dig in. We then both got the lobster shrimp BLT roll with fries. First impression is the roll is definitely lacking lobster and there's not much shrimp either. Definitely was missing the prime ingredient and for ten bucks thought I'd get more. What I got was more bread and that's not a good thing. The fries were underdone and were just blah. I'm a fry connoisseur and these poor pale limp things aren't cutting it. I'm surprised because I usually get pretty decent food here. I just know it's not worth going out of your way for this sandwich I was really bummed.

I tried this place to try something new. It was across the street from my hotel. I had a cup of lobster bisque. It was okay, not that much lobster in it and the flavor was sweeter than I prefer. My meal was the Sea Bass, but I had them prepare it Hoisin style with asparagus. The Hoisin tasted like it was directly out of a jar, it was good, but nothing spectacular. My business guest felt the same way. I am not knocking the place, it just wasn't anything special. The server was great, the manager came by to chat. The restaurant is really to dark for a business meal, great for a date night though.

Friday night out with my gorgeous wife... Rare occasion without kids. Place was not busy at all... We were seated in a nice booth towards the back. Five minutes to get a waitress. Waited 20 minutes for the water she said she was going to get before she took our drink order. She never returned. We gave up. We decided to leave since not a soul asked if we were needing any help. Found the bow tied host and our waitress having a nice fun conversation at the entry way. No apology from the staff. They let us walk out even after we told them we didn't even get served. Pathetic.

Columbus Fish finds a way to be glamorous but still approachable. Their method is simple, obvious, and genius. Glamour can be found in a lengthy wine list, cloth napkins, luxurious setting, uniformed waiters in white and black, and exotic sounding dishes. Approachable you can't hold or touch; it's a feeling, one that grows out of conversation and the ease of building a warm relationship in just the brief moment needed to converse with a sincerely kind and unpretentious waiter. It seems so simple, their formula does. And they put it out there for all to see. And feel. Try their key lime pie at Columbus Fish. Tart, cold, dense, real. I love love it. When I am not cooking for my daughters on my trips back to Ohio, they have their choice of restaurants anywhere in the greater metropolitan Columbus area. As younger kids it was always pizza. Now that they know quality, it's Columbus Fish. I taught them well.

Had a wonderful meal here last night with my parents and my gf since they are in town from FL for the week. I have never been to this particular location, but other than the construction on 23, it was easy to find with ample parking. The building itself is really large, but very modern. Bar area was busy along with the restaurant. We started off with the Spicy Shrimp app, it was very similar to the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish- The cucumber salad on the side was really tasty and I loved the fact they put white rice under the shrimp. I ordered a trio that consisted of a Crab Cake, 6 shrimp and 3 scallops- The scallops were great, pretty large and very very tasty. The shrimp were good, but the crab cake was a bit too fishy for me, but it still tasted good. The gf had the lobster trio, she loved it! My mom had a filet and said it was really good, mashed potatoes were tasty and my dad had the Plank Salmon- He said it was a good piece and had a great taste. Our waitress was very attentive, always smiling, I never had an empty coke glass, and we were all very impressed by the Fish Market.

Anytime a place as Chilean Sea Bass on the menu it's going to get a better rating then those that don't - sorry I happen to love that fish and this place didn't let me down. I choose to have it broiled with drawn butter on the side, a side salad and some mixed veggies - and everything was spot on. We were a party of three and we had the spicy shrimp app, which was really spicy and really good - served over a bed of rice. They also served us some hot bread and butter and my other two colleagues didn't complain at all about their entrees either. The parking at this place seems ok, but we walked over from the hotel. The pricing fit into out company policy very well - even with my entree and a few glasses of wine. The place was also clean and the staff was certainly friendly enough. However, we had to wait a bit longer then I thought was needed - I was starting to think I was in Hells Kitchen and Chef Ramsey was in the kitchen, but it wasn't that long - or you know me - I'd walk out! Selection was also good - daily specials, fresh fish selections and great lobster meals - I wanted to try the lobster mac and cheese, but my stomach wouldn't allow anything else - so it was a very filling meal!

I have been entertaining Clients at this restaurant for over twenty years. The food quality and service have always been very good. Over the last couple of months, the service and food quality have really declined. Our last three visits have been very disappointing. Last night was the worst of all. We basically waited and waited and finally left without getting our entrees. The soups were slightly warmer than room temperature. The appetizer was so late that the Manager did not charge us. To make matters worse, the restaurant had a foul sewer type odor. I understand that the restaurant changed hands in the last year or so and is now owned by Ruth Chris. We have basically dropped this restaurant from our suggested entertainment list. The Waitress and Manager were both apologetic and offered no explanation of what was going on in the kitchen. The Manager was very classy considering her awkward position and waived the bill. Of course we tipped the Waitress, as it was not her fault. I would stay away until they get their act together and take care of the odor issue.

Very good food, I had the chef's feature which was penne pasta with shrimp in Alfredo sauce. It was very fresh and would definitely order it again. However the service was a bit on the slow side.

Well. It was my first time in Columbus (and Ohio), and this place was near my hotel. My friend really wanted to go there so we braved the cold and went there about an hour before they close. We had to wait a while to be seated even though there were very few diners left. And when we were seated, we waited even longer for any waitstaff to acknowledge us. Finally we were fed up so we left. Just awful.

The food quality and service have declined significantly. On our most recent visit I ordered the cedar plank salmon, which is normally quite good. This serving not only didn't taste like salmon but was chewy and very fishy. The server politely offered to exchange it for another entree. I went with chicken because at this point I don't trust the freshness or accuracy of thier fish. The manager came by to offer his apologies and take my replacement order. I asked what he would recommend. He offered nothing other than to point to the 'catch of the day list'. It was clear he didn't know his own menu. I also pointed out that th 'cedar plank' salmon hadn't come out on its Crdar plank as has been the norm for Columbus market for 20 years. He siad that the 'new owners' had changed up the menu a few months ago suggesting that was the reason. The servers also haven't been trained adequately. We were only half way through our salads when the entrees were brought out by someone other than our primary server. That's a big no-no for any restaurant in this $20+ entree range. We will be sticking with Ocean Club from here on out.

After a recent Yelp event, I had to return here to experience the food. Plus, restaurant week added a chance to try a variety of items. Appetizer - tried the seafood gumbo. It was slightly warmer than room temperature and it didn't have unique flavors that I expected with fresh seafood in their gumbo. It felt like it wasn't something they sell much of. Entree - 1.5 lb Maine lobster. Staff went above and beyond by cutting open my lobster. Greatly reduced the amount of work I had to do to enjoy my lobster. The meat was soft and tasted fresh. I ate it and wish I had more because it went down easily and I loved it. Dessert - Sharkin pie. This is by far the greatest dessert that I've had in C-bus. Foursquare and Yelp readers all recommend this - so Try It! Service - all the staff is friendly. Multiple people - waiter, hostess, manager - came by to ask if we were enjoying ourselves. My waiter disappeared for periods at a time but it wasn't too bad as he tried to refill glasses in advance. Plus, he offered good advice on the food so can't complain.

Meh. Drinks weren't refilled with any timeliness. My son ordered carrots as his side and got a pile of shredded salad carrots. Seriously. His "triple decker" grilled cheese" was literally two deckers... and not good. His other side was strawberries and he got two strawberries. Yup. Fish was overcooked (both trout and cod). So disappointed in everything, actually. Oh, also overpriced.

You had me at fresh seafood. From the daily printed menus to the fish on display in front of the kitchen, this place screams, "we do right by seafood!" Yum. Ambiance: nice, romantic setting with bar seating, booths, and tables Service: fast, friendly. To be honest, our drinks were refilled so stealthily that I didn't really notice our waitress running around Food: Charbroiled oysters $15.99 - think oysters for beginners. These tender lil' babies are covered in cheese, butter, and seasonings. If you're afraid of fishy smells, these are a great option. Hoisin glazed yellowfin tuna $24.99 - the hoisin glaze really enhances the sweetness of the seared tuna. Just yum. Lobster and crab cake special of the day $31.99 (includes shark fin sundae) Sharkfin sundae -think multi-layered ice cream pie. The crust is a sort of oreo cookie layer. Just delightful. Drinks: Nice wine list with variety of reds and whites ordered either by the glass or bottle.

After attending a nice Yelp event here a few months ago, I was happy for the opportunity to return for happy hour. I was nervous that such a good happy hour deal would be accompanied by lots of diners, but when we arrived around 6pm there was only a small crowd in the bar. The beers were excellent and well priced. The food was great - creative, fresh, and varied. We had a ceviche sampler that was served with a selection of crackers and breads, a very spicy shrimp popper dish, and deviled eggs. Of the dishes, the ceviche stands out as being the most unique and best prepared dish, but everything was great. The bar has a very nice wintery feeling to it - dark wood, dim lighting. It's easy to forget that you're in crosswoods and not a cozy downtown bar. Highly recommended.

They open at 11 on Sundays. We had reservations at 11:15. We got there at 11:15 and the door was locked. After knocking for a couple minutes, someone finally unlocked the door. They did not seem ready to serve anyone yet. I saw my lunch sit under a lamp for almost 10 minutes before it came to our table. I had ordered the fish and chips and it was luke warm. Found that a bit peculiar as my wife and I were the only people there.

I have been here once for dinner, but this review is about an event that I attended. I was invited to a Yelp event at this facility, and with it being my first event, I was very excited. We were treated so excellently here. We were served well, and the food was phenomenal. I will definitely be back for dinner.

Had not been back here in a while, mainly because it is not close enough for me. The area is tucked away in the Crosswoods area which may also attribute to forgetting that it is even there. Ample parking is available in the parking lot around the building. The interior has dark wood and dim lighting which could be nice for romantic evening, but I was there for a business lunch. Lunch menu is quite reasonably priced, especially for seafood. I had the chilled shrimp entrée salad which was fresh, tasty and a portion size that was satisfying. The waiter was prompt, attentive to everyone's needs (including special dietary needs) and personable. Definitely an enjoyable dining experience.

Extremely disappointed in my recent experience. Something has changed here, I don't know if it's ownership or what, but several things went wrong. I would think I was just unlucky in my dining experience, but no I watched customer after customer complain. It started with my crab legs. I came her for the crab specifically, however when my lb came out it was 2 legs that's it. Now to the servers credit he asked the kitchen for me cause he too agreed not the right portion! My drink also changed from the last time, the pinyin has been changed to add pineapple juice and simple syrup which it didn't need. I asked for it to be made differently next time as it was way too sweet. When my bill came it was not on there so I thought they were trying to compensate for their error. I was wrong I cashed out and it changed and the lady( not my server) had added it back in because it was missing from my bill as she stated. I was extremely disappointed by this. My food was messed up and shorted and then my drink too?? Really there is no excuse for this along with the errors and complainants I witnessed from ALL of the other patrons sitting at the bar. Please join me and go anywhere else for your seafood in columbus!

Great service and a great meal. We started with the spinach, artichoke and crab dip and oysters. Dip was amazing; we'd pass on the oysters--overpriced for quality and types. Husband had the ribeye and lobster tail, and I had the Shanghai sampler. The sticky rice tastes more like brown rice (bigger and chewier kernels), but I thought it was delicious anyway. Carrot cake is a great dessert-you can share that with a dozen people.

The fish is fresh considering you are in Ohio. The Shang Hai prep style is good. I went with a safe bet with the tilapia and liked it. Being from Miami I have to say I have had better seafood, but if you are in Columbus, Ohio and are craving seafood I would recommend this place. The food is good and the service is excellent. I gave it 4 stars, really 3.5, because I'm still bitter about Lebron James. Thanks for the championships. May be your last. Let's go Heat.

This review is based on two dining experiences we have had here. The first being at lunch where the menu is a bit more mainstream and perfect for a hot sunday afternoon. We went with the seared tuna salad and the parmesan chicken caesar salad. Light, fresh and tasty. Two days later we found ourselves here again this time for dinner. Now this says alot, in the 8 months I have been living in Columbus, we have dined out every evening and only been to two restaurants twice. Some are on the list for sometime later on (Worthington Inn, I still dream about your food) but usually I like to try something new and see if the best yet experience can be beat. This was the case last night at the Columbus Fish Market. The food, the ambiance, service, decor, we stayed awhile and felt right at home. Not usually the case with a kid in tow, even he was a jolly lil man having his glass and pretzel rolls refilled before it was empty, so that he had no chance to pipe up. (Thank you for that FM, a peaceful family dinner, ahhhh.) We went all out and had the famed crabcakes, sashimi and bbq bacon shrimp for starters. I am not a fan of any of those things, but the FM prepaired them so well that I am now a lover of raw and shellfish! The crabcake with corn salsa I could eat daily, simple but tasty for this now crablover. The sashimi scared me at first but was a true delight, it was of such good quality and paried with the ginger, cucumber, rice and sesame it was a spectacular starter. I let my husband have a bite and compremised by leaving the shrimp for him which he really enjoyed. Bacon and BBQ is more manly anyways. Then we had the wedge and the beefsteak tomato mozzarella salad. Again I awakened new tastebuds! Not a lover of tomatos or mozzarella, both were so good i am now a fan. The tomatos firm and fresh (I hate mushy) and the mozzarella as well, paired with a high quality balsamic, it would be my go to salad here. For our main course I had the Tuna Shang Hai style, grilled with asparagus instead of steamed with rice, man was that good! The rice wine soy, the spinach, every bite was sheer ecstasy, the best meal I have ever eaten. The man went with the ribeye, baked potatoe and asparagus, he also left a happy man. I was very very tempted by the famed sharkfin pie as well as the carrot cake but vowed to save this for next time and we had cocktails instead. I enjoyed the mojito and the man had the grape crush. Both were very fresh, it makes all the difference sqeezing the fruit freshly using organic, not premixed ingredients, it was refreshing not loaded with cornsyrup. Our server Nick, as well as the manager Paul know exactly how to treat guests, you feel special but also part of the family, truely a great restaurant that I will be back to many times with friends and family and can recommend to anyone looking to have a great meal in a beautiful environment.

This review is late - about 4 months late and it's actually about our server. My husband and I ate dinner at this establishment on Feb. 11, 2014 . Our server, Ryan (#1034637) should have been complimented via Yelp! shortly thereafter, but we couldn't remember his name, but we finally found the receipt. Ryan is/was an excellent server - we don't live in Columbus, so we don't know if he's still there, but ask for him next time you eat here. We flew in from Los Angeles and wanted to try out the restaurant. We had a lovely time, the drinks "Cosmo's" were excellent, the food great and the dessert mouthwatering (key lime pie). Before we received the check we thought we would have a $200+ food bill - surprise - the bill was under $150 and we had 6 drinks between the two of us. Ryan just added to the wonderful dinner we enjoyed. We're originally from Columbus, but have lived in LA for 17 years. It was nice to talk to someone who actually knew what was going on in Columbus! The next time we come to Columbus, hopefully we will be able to visit this restaurant. Ryan thanks for the enjoyable experience.

I came over tonight to eat at the bar. The bar menu is very solid but a lot of folks will probably rather eat in the dirning room. They've changed the selections from the last time I was here and crab cakes are no longer available but there's some new stuff and I decided to try it out. I started off with an order of spicy asian shrimp. I didn't count them but there were a LOT. I also ordered two Codwich Sliders. These were their regular cod sandwiches with all the trimmings, just cut down in size. For a dollar more I got an order of friench fries. After that I ordered a glass of wine and two Shrimp Tacos. The shrimp tacos had the same shrimp as the above but were served on two taco shells. I really could have lived without them but with everything being so cheap ($5).... Anyway, the service and the food has not slipped a bit since they were sold. It's a great restaurant!

Lots to like here: - Fresh fish, displayed in a case so you can see what's looking good that day. - Variety of cooking styles to choose from: grilled, steamed, poached, broiled (not fried, from what I can remember) - Tasty sauces, both Asian and Continental - Pretty healthy preparation, especially if you go Asian style with the steamed fish - Excellent fresh-from-the oven bread! - Nice ambiance (cozy booths make for a nice date venue) - Decent prices for a slightly upscale seafood place (ranging from $16 for a tilapia entree to around $28 for sea bass - including sides; though you can pay more for special entrees and for steak) - Attentive, professional service - Large portions BTW - They also have steak and poultry options, thought I've never tried them.

This is clearly NOT a Mitchell restaurant. The name of it now is Columbus Fish Market and it serves fish that tastes like it came from the Scioto River in Columbus. Had the chef's recommendation of fresh halibut. It was dry and tasteless even with the recommended prep. The quality of the meal was less than Red Lobster with the price of a REAL Mitchell restaurant. Won't go back.

Best place for seafood in the Midwest. Recently moved from the north east and have struggled to find good seafood options until I came here. Was attracted by the raw oysters special (1/2 dozen for 7?). Got a pretty good mojito also at happy hours prices. Dinner was grilled talapia, cooked simply as I like it. Served with mashed potatoes and some greens. In all, it was a wonderful dining experience... Good service, nice bar, good ambience, fresh seafood(flown in daily?). You can expect the same in NYC, and wind up paying twice as much. Strongly encourage all to take advantage of this local gem. Suggest getting the word out on the happy hour as it's a great deal and I was hoping to meet more people. All told, I expect to be back soon!

Been here many times and the seafood is always fantastic. Service is on point. Went for my B-day lunch in August and the server brought me a long stemmed rose when he found out! Much better than being sung to at other chain places! Tonight had blackened scallops that I've had before and are normally great. Tonight they were more black/burnt than nicely blackened. I didn't complain because I was enjoying my company and didn't want to take the time to suggest they weren't cooked right. I scraped off what I could and ate what I could. The very attentive waiter, sorry cant remember his name.. At table 25. I think. Anyway, he asked if we needed boxes. I asked for him to just box the veg and potato and mentioned the scallop was a little too blackened. There was one left and a lot of black scraped off. He returned to tell me the scallops I was served was not cooked correctly and if I would like they would cook a new order and box them up for me. Remind you, I didn't complain and if he just boxed up the rest I still would have been fine, just an off night. But, with out request they made it right! I tasted one of the re-cook when I got home later and it was the blackened scallops I remembered!! Great service and food! Don't miss the grapefruit basil martini either! Sorry I can't remember the servers name, young man.. Maybe started with a J? He provided great service.. To a veteran restaurant worker :)

Horrible service, great food! It was extremely hard to get a bartender to pay attention to me. I went out of my way to get their attention and they were more interested in looking at what was on top of the bar than what was happening in front of their eyes. At one point I had wanted to order food so badly that I took the menu and dropped it over the bar and suggestively pulled it back and forth right in front of the bartender and he didn't even acknowledge me. I'm from out of town, but if I were local I would go someplace else. Major redeeming quality? The Shrimp Scampy Pasta was fantastic! Makes me feel bad to give it 2 stars because the food was VERY GOOD. Too bad the service sucked.

Wow was this disappointing. We came here for my birthday and expected a great time as we've come to expect in the past. What we got however was a super depressing meal service. Firstly I made reservations for the evening and despite being only about half full, we still had to wait over 10 minutes. When we were seated our waitress took our drink orders, the drink I wanted was sold out, my dad was given my husbands beer, and my husband got a miller lite instead of a Hefeweizen. When we ordered our appetizers, my husband and I ordered the calamari, and my parents got the lobster bisque. The soup was delicious, but our calamari never came out. While we waited for our meal to come out our waitress never came to check on us or ask if we wanted another drink or anything so that we could alert her to our missing item. And we waited and waited. Our meal took over 1 hour and 15 minutes to come out with no apologies. We had to tell our waitress that our calamari never came out and she asked if we wanted it still. By this time we just wanted to get out of there and she said no problem and we will take that off your bill for you. Hello! We never received the item. I would hope we wouldn't have to pay for it. When our meal did finally come out, my trout and my dads trout was amazing especially with the goat cheese. Yum. However my husbands scallops were just awful. For one thing for the price they were so small and not very many. And then they were so over cooked they were rubbish on the one side and then on the other side it didn't taste like they had been cooked at all. It kind of just ruined the entire dinner experience. We complained to them about the meal and the wait time and they blamed it on the crowd.... The place was only half filled. Then they wanted to cook him something else. We had our infant child with us and with the wait time and everything else we just wanted to get out of there. The manager came over and we told him everything and he apologized and took my husbands scallops off the bill but that was it. For that experience I would have expected something else but nothing else was said. It left a bad taste in our mouth and we most likely will not be back. I'd rather go to the ocean club and be well taken care of for the price

The service was great and the food was good. I had the swordfish in ginger sriracha sauce and bok choy which was good but didn't knock my socks off. Once it became crowded it was very noisy so I wouldn't recommend it as a romantic special occasion restaurant. Some diners were dressed up and others had on jeans and t-shirts.

This place was recommended during a visit to the area. So we tried it for dinner. My dinner companion had a really delicious looking cocktail called a grape crush while I stuck with water. She started with a cup of lobster bisque which she really enjoyed and had the cod stuffed with lobster and shrimp as her entree. It looked great and she said it was great. I started with a shrimp cocktail and had the seared ahi tuna salad for the entree. The tuna was some of the best I have had with just the right amount of char on the edges. While I had some coffee at the end she ordered the sharkfin pie which was a comically large slice of pie that was several layers of ice cream with chocolate and peanut butter between the layers. It looked so good I wanted to order one myself. I didn't since I am watching my calories now. I would love to eat here again if I am in the area.

A college student in Pittsburgh over a decade ago, I remember the Mitchell's Seafood Market at the Waterfront was a treat when Mom & Dad would come to town. Fast-forward ten years and I'm now living in Columbus and was reminded what a nice, fresh experience I had there in Pittsburgh. Last week I attended a Yelp event hosted by the Columbus Fish Market. The food was delicious. My seafood palate has expanded over the years and the raw ahi tuna was remarkable. The crabcakes were just like I remembered and the spin'artichoke dip was one of the best I've had at a restaurant. They offered assorted crudites and cheese, which I'm not sure if it's on the regular menu or not--but for a catered event was just perfect for small bites. One of my favorite summertime activities is crackin' Maine lobstas--and now that I find myself living in the Midwest, I've wondered where I would go for such an activity. Good to know that through September, the Columbus Fish Market is offering a 3-course special for $29.99 and one of the entree options is a 1 1/4 lb. live lobster! I will be back (maybe for my birthday in July!)

Came here for Columbus Restaurant Week 2013. The service was great but the food was just alright. I'd like to give it another try and order something different next time but I just wasn't too impressed and there's not really much else to say since my experience was so lackluster.

This is a nice place for a date. The food is really good, and I like that you can get so many things prepared Shanghai-style. Cooked fish tastes really good with wasabi and sushi rice too! The first time I had my tuna prepared that way, and I though it was so delicious. I got tilapia prepared Shanghai-style the next time, and I thought it tasted too sweet. Oh, and their oyster appetizers are amazing! So fresh! The decor is nice. It's a really large, open restaurant. Dim lighting, soft music, that sort of thing. I like that they have a big display case for their fish too. The service is usually very attentive.

Met some good friends here for dinner while I was in town and one word - DELICIOUS. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. I had the lobster bisque which was divine. I had the plank salmon which was cooked to perfection. We had some great wine too although at this point I don't remember what it was. I will definitely eat here again when I am back in Columbus.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary and it was great. I had jumbo crab cakes along with a CBC lager and it was soo good. The environment is nice and perfect for special occasions or just an impromptu dinner. We will definitely be back and I am looking forward to it.

After a long day of really interesting but challenging meetings, dinner was at the Fish Market. Really great service - prompt and not obtrusive. The ingredients, especially the fish tasted fresh and was well prepared. My only wish would be to be a bit more innovative with the ingredients - much was a standard approach. Nevertheless, nice to unwind with a few colleagues and friends!

Great atmosphere, you can make reservations via Open Table so no waiting, and the food is outstanding. Towards the back they have a case where you can see the cuts of fish they have, all of them thick and fresh. Service here is a step above most restaurants in Columbus. Portions are pretty decent. I had the swordfish which was good but nothing special. Everyone else in my party loved their meals.

We made reservations and were seated right away. Service staff was excellent and made a great recommendation for the Rock Fish which I ordered. The fish was blackened and had a wonderful flavor. This dish was served with green beans and a side rice with a chili like topping. The restrooms were clean and I would definitely come back again.

Went back just the other week with hubs and decided to do the "what do you recommend" line. Server (very good very good) suggested the char broiled oysters. HOT DAMN!!! They were sooooooooo good with that hot bread served to dip - nahhhhhhhhhh let me say it right - sop up the bayou cajun butter. Had a wedge salad (not doing that again, it was ok) and something else for dinner. Cannot recall the main course because all I cared about were the oysters. Hope they are there when we go back because dinner will be a couple plates of those oysters and a different salad. Yummmmmmmmm

Quality seafood, but the prices are a little high. I had the "Seafood Americana", and the portion was quite small for the $23 price tag, and there wasn't much actual seafood in the dish. It was mostly sauce and potato, but what there was did taste excellent. The dish also didn't come as described. It was advertised as being served over mashed potatoes and instead came with potato wedge style oven roasted potatoes. Bread was served, but a small salad was $6 extra. Very good, but not great.

Fabulous meal in their outdoor area. They had a 3 course meal that was a better deal than ordering separately. Lobster was excellent. Sharkfin pie is a lot like a tin roof, was great. Service was friendly and very efficient.

The decor is very nice and the wait staff even nicer....but that's where it ends. I ordered the swordfish....it was as hard as a hockey puck...they took it back and made me another one....same hard, dry and just plain repulsing. I'm not having any lucky with Cameron's restaurants

We went to The Columbus Fish Market with the 3 of us on a Saturday, made our reservation via Opentable. We were glad that we've made a reservation as there was a big crowd at the waiting area waiting for a table. And even we've made a reservation, we waited for like 5-10 min for our table. We've ordered the crab, spinach, artichoke dip as an appetizer (it was a big portion, so good for sharing) and it was delicious! My mom had the whole lobster (very good!), husband had the hoisin glazed yellow fin tuna with sweet sticky rice (so so .. and the rice was just sushi rice instead of sweet sticky rice) and I had the blackened swordfish with jambalaya rice (fish was overcooked, too dry). Overall, our experience was good but not great. Love the sour dough bread too.

  • Stephanie S.

Food was delicious, as usual. Yellowfin Tuna seared rare is fantastic! The Spicy Asian Shrimp has a nice kick too. And do not forget to leave without a bite of Shark Fin Pie for dessert (One of my fave desserts of all time.) Ask for Nicholas as your server, he's great! Great attention to detail. He noticed my yellowfin was slightly overcooked to medium rare and went back to the kitchen to get me a seared rare like I wanted. No ifs, ands, or buts...just handled it and brought it out before removing the old plate. Outstanding service!

Drinks: Good - fresh juice and decent pour Salad: Bad - don't call it "special" and have old lettuce and an obviously pre-made plate from the fridge (yesterday) Dinner: decent, but nothing to scream about. Overall, I would like to do 3.5, but I will round up because I enjoyed my night.

Was in Columbus for business, colleague and I went about 6:30 pm on a Friday night as we were staying near by. Timing was good, as it started to get very busy about 7 or so. sat at the bar. Service was good, nice atmosphere. Had the Lobster Bisque (excellent) and the Swordfish. Staff was accomodating of my request to change side dishes. Overall, worth the trip.

This place doesn't disappoint. We were in town visiting family in Columbus and this is one of our favorite seafood restaurants so we went to celebrate my birthday. I tried the pecan crusted trout with green beans, mashed potatoes and a brown butter sauce. It was yummy. The fish was flavorful and not heavily oiled. The toasted pecans were a great compliment. Of course the service was spot on as usual. And we finished our meal with my all time favorite dessert...Sharkfin Pie. Basically a HUGE piece of ice cream pie with a layers of caramel ribbon ice cream, peanut butter and fudge, then topped with crushed honey roasted peanuts all on an Oreo cookie crust. It's enough to share with four, but only agreed to share with my husband because I love this dessert and you can't get it in Kansas.

A great selection of really fresh, high quality fish, fixed however you'd like. I guess my problem is I'm not enough of a fish fan to know what kind I like and how prepared. That said, the staff is very helpful, so with a few questions, you'll get something you'll like. I tried one of the pre-fix menu options (salad/soap, entree, and dessert), which seemed like a pretty good deal. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, although pretty standard fish restaurant decor. Pretty good selection of wines by the glass and beers.

Hands down the best place to get fish in Columbus. We had the pleasure to eat here for our anniversary and were given the best treatment. A quiet table per my request, a chef's compliment appetizer of delicious coconut shrimp. The CBC apricot ale I had went along great with our spinach artichoke appetizer. You know it's a classy restaurant when they've got mouthwash in the restrooms, but seriously, the decor was great, the booth was comfortable as well five stars all around. But the best part of course is the fish! I had the trio sampler, which for under $25 was a bargain including their cedar plank salmon, which had a wonderful pink color, buttery texture and rich taste; the blackened tilapia which is by far the best cut of that I've ever had, the asian style scallops which had a nice slightly spicy soy based sauce, and some of the freshest scallops ever; and it was topped off with shrimp jambalaya rice, and some of the biggest cuts of asparagus ever. I was tempted by their $20 special as well but didn't get it, but it comes with a salad, entree and dessert. I will definitely be returning here often, it's a great restaurant. The one thing that could use improvement was the waitress, who although friendly, seemed very rushed by what I assumed was the dinner rush.

Since I've been traveling to Columbus, I have found this wonderful restaurant...because it is right there across the street from where I stay. I make it a point to eat there one night while I am in town. I always sit at the bar and Cindy has been there every time. She is awesome and epitomizes customer service. My hats off to Cindy! I love eating here because of the Prixe Fixe menu. A complete meal, including dessert, for under $20! I have had most of the options for appetizer and entree and only one dessert option. I have had both the chowder and jambalaya both of which are excellent. I have had the lobster & shrimp stuffed cod as well as the pecan encrusted trout for the entree and love them both. For dessert, I have only had the vanilla bean creme brûlée. One of these days I will venture off of the Prixe Fixe menu...but for now it is an awesome option for a business traveler.

This two star is for two reasons. 1. Ordered the gumbo, which I've had when it was Mitchels. I'm sorry, salmon does not belong in a gumbo. I wish I had read the description, but as it was a business meeting, I just glanced. Worst gumbo (taste) of any respected restaurant I've had. Yes, I'm a foodie with high demands, but this is the fish market for goodness sake. 2. Tried the lobster roll blt... I didn't have high expectations, but at least they got the roll right. Dry and unseasoned lobster pieces with lettuce and bacon not nearly what should be served. It's a shame from a restaurant that I raved about a few short years ago. Great service on the other hand and my business guests were happy, though no one raved after a place that should expect patron to be impressed.

Went for lunch on a weekday, not at all packed, quickly seated and served. Relaxed environment, good music, great service. I had the Mahi Mahi, broiled and served with fingerling potatoes and veggies - AWESOME. Great portions, good price. My boyfriend had the house cedar plank salmon which was perfectly cooked. All in all a great choice.

  • Mike D.

It was just alright for me. I expected more for the price, honestly. The spinach artichoke dip was runny and not very flavorful. I had the "catch of the day" grilled salmon, and it was a little bland too. The ambiance is lovely, to be sure. Our server seemed to be fairly busy and we didn't see a whole lot of her. It was good, but like I said, I expected more. Not sure if that's my problem, or theirs. I would try it again, but mostly to see if my experience was a fluke. Many others seem to love this place, and they're some pretty trustworthy people on the Columbus Yelp scene.

We had a group of four a without reservation for dinner on a Friday. We had a twenty minute wait which we thought was fine. A drink or two later and we were seated. We had a great waiter (Josh) who was attentive. One of our group asked if they had Oysters Rockefeller for appetizer. Josh said it wasn't on the menu but the did make them. So he was happy! I had the clam chowder - very good. The others had the wedge salad, which was fine as well. For dinner, two of our group had the lobster duo, with lobster tail which one person said was perfect, and she lived in the East! The other party and I had the Fish Market trio. It included cedar-planked salmon (very good), grilled sea bass (good but the least successful) and scallops Shanghai style. I LOVED the Scallops. The Shanghai sauce was perfect to the scallops. No dessert for us as we waddled out, well fed. Pricey but worth it,

This is a solid, reliable spot. I went there two nights in a row. Cocktails were not great, unless you like sweet, but the fish was reliable. Certainly not *great* fish, but hey, you're in the middle of the continent. First night I tried for extra vegetables, and got a giant bowl of cheese/cream spinach - yuck. Tonight was better with green beans and mushrooms then asparagus, both were light and what I was looking for. Ambiance - whatever. I sat at the bar, so I don't know much. When it comes to seafood, your top priority should be volume. Fish doesn't last, whereas land meats give you a lot of margin for error. You want fish that is quickly being bought and sold. This place seems to fit the bill, and is professionally managed for a nice balance of speed, efficiency, but some personal service.

The food was good, I had the shrimp scampi for dinner and for whatever reason they make it spicy and I can't do spicy. So, they offered to redo it less the Tabasco in the sauce and I thought that was excellent customer service. I wish the scampi was better so I could give them a 5 but overall I'd go back there if I'm in town again.

This is one of those times I regret not being able to give half starts. This place would get four and a half stars from me. This place looked great from looking at their web site, but it turned out even better on getting there. They inside is gorgeous, having various areas, all of which wood, very classy. Our server was very professional and engaging, well fitting the atmosphere of the restaurant. I had the Shrimp Americana which was wonderful. The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. The fantastic sauce really set it off well, and the mushrooms deserve mention too for how good they were. My wife had the Fish and Chips, which was also good. The hushpuppies which she was kind enough to give me a whole one, were the best I've ever had. We were there at lunch time, and despite the food being so good, the prices were surprisingly reasonable. You could go to Olive Garden and you'd spend more money than here (getting two star food versus 4 1/2 star food)! And it's conveniently located right were 23 intersects 270. We can't wait to try the dinner menu!

Just visiting Columbus and I was given a recommendation for this place. The food here is excellent. I had the Kung Pao Calimari, a cup of clam chowder, and the Fish Market Trio. All three were top notch! At first I was thinking what is this fusion crap?? But to my surprise, the calimari were fried just right and were very tender and the sauce was so good I had to ask for more. The chowder had nice big chunks of clam and the warm sourdough bread went along so nicely. Last was the Trio which came with cedar planked salmon topped with gorgonzola and sun dried tomatoes on top of asparagus, blackened tilapia on jambalaya rice, and scallops prepared Shang hai style. All three were very fresh and my favorites were the tilapia and the scallops. The only suggestion I would make is that they need to add some chiles to the Shang Hai style sauce. Other than that, I was completely satisfied with the food and the service. For the price, this place is definitely one to visit.

Excellent food, excellent service. the fish is very fresh and extremely well prepared. The restaurant is very accommodating for special orders and requests on their dishes. Easily the best seafood in town with a constantly updated and changing menu. Lastly, the prices are reasonable for the portions and quality of food.

Great food all around. My first visit to Columbus and this was our best stop. We shared the spinach/artichoke/carb dip and both had a cup of the lobster bisque. Both fantastic. Entrees were better than average but not the best I've had. We sat in the bar so I can't speak to the regular dining area but atmosphere at the bar was great.

Let me start off by saying that I am in no way a 'foodie', and I haven't been a fan of seafood for long. I found this place while looking for a nice place to take my girlfriend that would be a departure from our typical college-budget eateries. I went in slightly unsure of what I was getting myself into, but with the overwhelmingly positive reviews here on Yelp fresh in my mind I had high hopes. The first thing that really caught my attention was the service. Our server was simply the most friendly, attentive person to ever wait on me at a restaurant. He picked up on my lack of experience with seafood and made some excellent recommendations which lead me to try some new things that I really enjoyed. His pacing at bringing out the food was impeccable; never causing us to feel rushed or waiting too long. The other employees who I interacted with were also very friendly and helped lend to the feeling that I was definitely in a place a cut above where I would usually eat. We started with the crab, spinach, & artichoke dip. Any other evening I would have steered far clear of any of those three ingredients, but I was feeling adventurous and wanted to expand my horizons a bit and I'm thrilled that I did. Since it was such a new thing for me it's hard to compare it to similar dishes at other establishments, but I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed every bite I took. It was full of flavor and was a large enough appetizer that I probably could have stopped eating then and there and gone home happy. The only complaint I had was that the flatbread it was served with was so salty that I preferred to spread the dip onto pieces of the (delicious) freshly baked bread that came out before anything else. For my meal I had wild sockeye salmon done shanghai style. This was far and away the best salmon that I have ever had, and the shanghai preparation is something I'll long for every time I eat salmon in the future. The healthy portion had beautiful presentation and the shanghai flavors complimented the fish perfectly. And, when I say healthy portion, I mean -healthy- portion. You won't leave this place hungry. For dessert we had a raspberry cobbler with white chocolate ice cream. About all I can say about this is that it was delicious and the ice cream was a very nice touch; certainly more interesting than a french vanilla or something else you'd usually find on a cobbler. Unfortunately, it didn't survive long enough for me to glean many more details about it ;) Overall, I'm thrilled with this restaurant and can't wait to go back. Even my girlfriend, who is a southern California native that grew up with the multitudes of seafood restaurants along the coast, was blown away by the evening. Amazing seafood in the middle of Ohio...who would have guessed?

  • Judy R.

I picked this restaurant for a large family gathering (15 people) that my husband and I hosted, and I was embarrassed and very disappointed. The appetizers were okay (artichoke & spinach dip and calamari) as was the wine. However the salad was an excessively large plate of over-chilled greens (boring). My dinner was cold - broiled scallops, mashed potato and more boring vegetables. Perhaps the problem was that we had a large party, but isn't that the job description of a restaurant ... serve large numbers of people with delicious food. If so, I will skip this restaurant on future trips to central Ohio.

Great food, great service and a beautiful restaurant. I've been here a few times both for lunch and dinner and have never had a poor experience. Most recently, I came for a spontaneous group lunch. There was a gas leak in the building where we were supposed to have our sandwiches and chips. So, what else is there to do but got to the Fish Market. Lucky us! The staff welcomed us with open arm...and open doors. They promptly sat all 20 of us in one of the party rooms. They served drinks and then gave us time to get some of the talking out of the way. It was sort of a mini-seminar. I was actually getting a little antsy. I know darn well how good the food is here and had thoroughly over the menu, and my neighbors' menu about 12 times. Each time changing my order. I ordered the pepita crusted Tilapia, served atop a sweet potato creme sided with a spaghetti squash, zucchini, tomato salad. After gorging myself with the warm sourdough bread, and water, I unfortunately could not finish my meal, but it was very tasty. Others around me enjoyed crab cake sandwiches, crab and shrimp penne pasta, a handful of other fish dishes and one or two hamburgers and fries. Those fries looked so good too! As with most seafood restaurants, it is a bit pricey. But the quality and flavor pairing is deserving of an extra dollar or two.

This place is always great. It's a seafood restaurant, but they do have a few other options on the menu. On this last visit I had the Chilean Sea Bass, cooked "Shaghai style". The fish was tender, moist, and delicious. It was on a bed of sticky rice, with steamed spinach around the edge of the plate. For dessert we had the Shark Fin Pie. Price-wise, it's a more expensive than a normal restaurant, but the food is high quality. I honestly didn't expect to experience seafood this good, since Columbus is so far from the shore. I enjoyed it and would go back.

    (5)
  • Mich J.

The Sea Bass was delicious- It was our anniversary and they treated my wife very well- they gave her a long stem rose and free dessert. The waiter and the manager were extremely nice. I highly recommend this place for a good, fresh seafood dinner.

I had high expectations for the fish market. First, the decor is a little too "Red Lobster" for my tastes. Second, I ordered lobster and it was dry, dry, dry. Not worth it for $30+ Oh, and our waiter knew NOTHING about wine and could not give a recommendation. A tip: Train your wait staff on wine. You'll see a difference it profit, I promise. I don't think I'll be returning.

Unbeknown to me until we arrived, this is part of the Mitchell's Fish Market mini-chain. In fact, some of the decor/flyers inside the restaurant say Mitchell's while some say Columbus FM. Had the Chilean Sea Bass, shanghai style (which to them means steamed with ginger, etc). $29. Good flavor. The piece of fish was a little on the small side, but overall with the rice and spinach, the entree was a good size portion. Service was average - had to stop eating for 5 minutes or so to wait for an empty water glass to be filled. And the restaurant was maybe 1/4 full. Co-diners enjoyed their meals (one had scallops, one had blackened rockfish, and I don't recall the other's). One besides myself complained about portion size. We all wiped our plates clean. Tucked in a corner of the circle road which maybe changes names to High Cross and/or Vantage? Regardless, it is between Bravo and the Winking Lizard near the Courtyard hotel.

Went here with our daughter who used to HATE fish. She is now a believer. This place was a real highlight of our trip. The service was great. Not just your run of the mill restaurant. They were very friendly and accommodating. We sat in the back off to the side because it was quieter there. My husband had the Steel Head fish, which we learned has a milder flavor then salmon. It was delicious. And my daughter had the salmon and I had the pecan crusted trout. You can pick a fish here and then tell them how to cook it for you. Go to the website and look at the menus. My mouth was watering from all the selections. The food was excellent. At the end of the meal we shared a brownie a la mode, which was very good. But yes it is a brownie. My daughter got the Chocolate Java Lava. This is a cake with a soft interior baked in a cup with a scoop of ice cream. When it came it had been baked too long and was just cake. The waitress came to ask us how everything was, and noticed my daughters' body language signaling unhappiness. The waitress then asked her if everything WAS okay. And my daughter mentioned that the last time she was there, the chocolate cake was molten and soft in the middle. The waitress knew immediately what had happened and returned with another cup of cake with ice cream made to perfection. Daughter extremely happy. This is a very sweet dessert and my daughter will be back. So will we when we visit Columbus again. Top notch.

My wife said she wanted fish for dinner. She ended up having the trio sampler, which is two fish and a scallops each cooked a different way. She is tiny and usualy doesn't eat much, but she cleaned the plate here. I had the crab cakes and sampled her food. Her order was delicious, mine was ok. They also were able to seat us within five minutes on a Friday night at the same time red lobster had a forty minute wait. I'd say the prices r worth it if u get a fresh fish meal. Definitely going back some time.

My opinion: Most overrated Columbus area restaurant. Huge seafood fan, and have been a bit disappointed by every visit I have had to the Columbus Fish Market. I can, and I state this sadly, enjoy a meal at Red Lobster just as much as the Columbus Fish Market... The food here is fair, just not worth recommending to someone.

This is a must go restaurant for me when I travel to Columbus, OH. The server was knowlegable about the fish, food was fresh. A lot of good choices from the menu. I enjoy the dining experience there. My score 8 out of 10.

I LOVE this place. Was in town for work, and literally, in the week I was there, my coworker and I came back three times just to eat dinner (the last time we cut it very close to missing our plane.) The food is great - good, solid seafood. Everything tasted really fresh from the seafoods, the salads to the desserts, it's clear they really think about their menu. What really stood out for me was their amazing service. The staff was more than friendly - they were knowledgeable, fun and even remembered us so that every time we came back we felt like visiting friends. They even hooked us up with a little extra carrot cake which was AMAZING. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Yeah I'll admit it. Dragged the fam 70 plus miles on a weeknight to celebrate the bro's b-day here. But when you're from rural West Central Ohio, trippin' those kindsa distances to reach some civilization is just de rigueur. Which means: a) you're hungry enough to eat a kangaroo by the time Karen the Australian-accent GPS lady gets you there and b) it better be worth the trip, cuz you coulda just gone to the Outback, as in the steakhouse. This place passes. If you're looking for Seafood, but live in a state where the locally-caught fish are from Lake Erie and have at least three eyes, you'd be impressed by this place too. This location is in the Crosswoods retail plaza--if you're looking for "charming", go to nearby Worthington Village where they use cheesy fonts and add extra vowels to emphasize how Quaint and Olde everything is--but if you're looking for fresh seafood, this place is solid--and despite subtly being part of the moderately upscale Mitchell's Fish Market chain that dots the cities of the midwest, it's special-occasion-ish enough to justify the trip. Standard seafood restaurant fare (crab and artichoke dip, decent lobster bisque, iceberg wedge salads, etc) are complimented by subtle vaguely asian fusions like the Kung Pao Calamari app, which was perfectly fried / breaded calamari accented by a sweet asian dipping sauce and some tempura type vegetables (sometimes you have to fry veggies in order to trick people into eating them, at least in Ohio. I mean damn we even fry Twinkies in this state). As for the fish--there's a market-priced listing of the days' fresh catches, imported from all over and dripping in carbon finprints, which can be prepared either grilled, broiled, blackened, or their signature fusion Shang Hai style, steamed with ginger and scallions over soy sauce and sticky rice. Some ginger-crusted salmon, mahi mahi, crab legs, and scallops found their way on to our table and everybody was satisfied (I live in Seattle and thought the salmon was decent--can't imagine you could do better than this in C-bus). Kanye once asked "You know what the Midwest is?" Well, seafood in the midwest is a place like this. In fact, they have one of these in Chicago, Kanye. Overall, a solid Midwest seafood experience--just what we were looking for.

The Fish Market has always been amazing. The food is fresh, fantastic and always worth the price. I love that the menu changes-- it shows that they aren't worried about how the "masses will react" to change- because their food is THAT GOOD and shows that they are constantly evolving, keeping up with the times and taking menu risks that seem to be paying off. The service has always been top notch. The restaurant is always clean and inviting. A little noisy at times, but it's not deafening. I'm not usually one to comment on bathrooms- but their little touches- it's all in the details and they have it down.

My husband and I revisited the Fish Market just after Christmas, and I was pleasantly surprised by a couple changes to the menu. First, they now offer several Prix Fixe options, which are an amazing value. You can select a salad, one of three entrées, and a dessert for 20 dollars. Secondly, the dessert menu now has a few less intimidating options, such as chocolate cake and crème brûlée. Of course I opted for the latter, as it is my favorite food, and I was not disappointed. While it was a fairly small portion, it was more than enough for the two of us to share. I definitely recommend the steelhead if they have it. It is a very flavorful fish, similar in color to salmon, but more delicious.

I have always been frightened of seafood so when my coworkers suggested Columbus Fish Market for lunch, I was apprehensive, but was willing to give it a try. There were several non-seafood options on the menu that sounded very appetizing, but I was feeling brave so I decided to order fish for the first time, ever! At the suggestion of our waiter, I decided to go with the Mahi Mahi prepared Shang Hai style, a Columbus Fish Market specialty. When my meal arrived, I was skeptical and probably even wrinkled my nose at the sight of fish on my plate. However, the presentation was beautiful and after the first bite, I was hooked! I am now wondering why I waited so long to try fish and am sad that I have lived in Columbus for eight years and never dined at Columbus Fish Market until now. I will definitely be returning... this weekend, maybe?! Oh, and I can't forget to mention the fantastic desserts! My coworkers and I shared a giant slice of carrot cake and a rich and creamy slice of chocolate mousse cake. Both were amazing and the perfect ending to a satisfying lunch hour.

Fresh fish everyday, from all over the world. Ignore the carbon footprint connotations of that statement as we are in the middle of the US. But, this place does great fish. I had the Market fish trio (Scallops, Blackened Tilapia and Salmon) and it was fantastic. I will absolutely return when in Columbus.

This is where my family comes on those special occasions like birthdays, graduations or "you're feeling down? Let's go get a crab cake!" days. They have really wonderful food. The menu is printed out daily, giving the entire experience a feeling of freshness. Nothing sits around too long in this fish house. Recently I've moved to Boston and haven't been able to afford going to any kind of fish house, but from what I've seen Fish Market gives some of these syndicated seafood houses a run for their money. I'm a big fan of the crab cakes and the wedge salad. It's pretty much what I get every time I've gone there. I'm sure I've gotten other things as well, but the crab cakes are by far my favorite. This place has really wonderful seafood in a landlocked town where you arn't expecting to get really wonderful seafood. Thank you, Cameron Mitchell, thank you.

The Columbus Fish Market is another of Cameron Mitchell's restaurants. This place offers great seafood that is always fresh. I've never had a bad meal here. The clientele is highly varied as you can get everyone from college students to the elderly. The kitchen is open for viewing and they feature a cool cabinet out front where you can see the filets of fish waiting to be cooked. There is also the obligatory lobster tank in plain sight. The bar is small and features a varied crowd from the martini drinkers to those who chug beer. The wait staff has always been friendly, albeit slow on some occasions. The menu features a wide selection of fresh seafood that can be prepared in three distinct manners. Their signature preparation is "Shang-hai" style but I'm a bit partial to the blackened preparation for most of my choices. Apart from fish, you can also select from a wide variety of other seafood combinations. The Seafood Combination Platter is perfect for sharing and is a good size portion. To please those who don't feel like seafood, they also feature a couple of menu items for you as well. Frankly, don't walk through the door unless you want to eat seafood. Food is well priced for what you get. This is a great place to go with the family or friends. Also a good option for a date night.

Service was great, friendly. I had the Lobster Bisque appetizer. Amazing with the warm bread dipped in. The Catch of the day Atlantic Salmon was great atop spinach and rice. VERY GOOD salmon. Atmosphere is very dark and romantic. This fish went well with a glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonay. Dessert was great. Received a free dessert because we were unsure which to try so the waiter brought us TWO. WIll be back again!

I met three of my girlfriends for a birthday dinner last night at the Crosswoods location. My first impression was actually very negative. I arrived and gave the hostess the name for the party I was meeting (they had indicated I would be arriving late). The host and hostess both acted as though I was completely crazy and called around to the other location in case I "misunderstood". Finally my friends came out and I was able to follow them back. Our server provided amazing service, which I have found typical of most CM restaurants. We had the crusted salmon with sticky rice and sauteed vegetables- AMAZING! I believe this is one of their signature plates. It was cooked perfectly, which is rare (I feel) with some fish plates. Our calamari to begin the meal was also perfect. To finish the meal we had the shark fin (I believe) peanut butter/ice cream cake. Very rich, very large portion, but very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. There aren't a ton of options for people who don't enjoy seafood, but I still would recommend it!
