We all know how I love my ice cream by now. I'm basically on a mission to eat all the best ice cream and frozen yogurt and deliciousness in the area. I'm no stranger to Jeni's either, obviously. This location is smaller than some of the others, but the staff is still friendly and the decor pleasant. In the warmer months they have a nice, though small patio you can sit on while enjoying your choices.

This particular location has the friendly Jeni's service you come to expect, but the location is one of the larger so, there's more room to stand in line inside. Overall, it's less busy than downtown. It's got a more relaxed atmosphere and smells like vanilla waffle cone heaven when you walk in. They need one of those Jimmy Johns "free Smells" neon signs. I like free smells! PS-we all know the ice cream, yogurts, and sorbets are something special. Goes without saying.

I don't even know what to say about this place that hasn't already been said in the media or in previous reviews. They are amazing. The folks slinging ice cream are amazing. The restaurants are amazing. The ice cream is amazing. The prices aren't so amazing, but it is worth every dime. My favorites are the goat cheese & cherry, brambleberry, and brioche & jam. I love that they allow you to sample as many as you would like since they are such unique flavors. I love that Jeni's is expanding across the country wildly, but seems to be holding things down in Columbus and not allowing the business to slip. I recommend them to everyone I know!

Made fresh with seasonal ingredients, sourced locally? Come on, how can I not give Jeni's five stars! I love their creations - you can't get anything like it so close to home. Jeni's is Jeni's. So no matter the store you're in, it's the same high quality taste and texture. Now, this was my first venture into the Bexley location, and I must say, I like it a bit better than the original brick and mortar in the Short North. Why, you ask? Size and lighting. This joint has more sitting space. A longer line can form here, thus servicing my customers as they sample the goodies. The bright hanging lights made me more apt to sit and relax, while downing my two scoops. Duh Gwen: What flavors did you get?! Two new ones: 7 Layer and Apricot. Son of a monkey, they were irresistible!! The 7 Layer's sweet, yet salty, undertones, big nuts and chunky chocolate - savored every darn bite! The Apricot had a home goo mixed in (a homemade preserves perhaps?) that was just enough to keep me scooping more in. Besides the outrageous ice cream, the two gentlemen working behind the counter were very polite. Had a great sense of humor and sarcasm. Me and my friend were the only customers in the shop, and we didn't feel awkward at all :)

This was my first time checking out this Jeni's spot, and even though I'd just ate way too much food at Moshi next door, I thought ice cream sounded like a great idea, especially with the single digit weather. I'll start off by saying that I like Jeni's, but I'm not completely in love with it like the rest of our city. I can appreciate the flavors and do enjoy most of them, but some can be a bit too much for me. I'm a Graeter's person, so that may explain it. Either way, I did enjoy my Askinosie Dark Milk Chocolate and the Goat Cheese with Red Cherries. They were both very tasty, even if the portions sizes are a bit tiny. The guys working the counter were very helpful in answering a few of my questions, but they were hovering a bit too much when we were looking at the different flavors, shadowing my every movement. My girlfriend and I were the only two people in the place; let's chill out a bit. All-in-all they were still very friendly, and I appreciate them wanting to offer me samples of everything. Jeni's may not be my first option, but if I'm craving ice cream and looking to try something funky and different, I know where to find it.

Favorite flavors: - Dark Chocolate - Goat cheese + red cherries - Wildberry lavender - Lemon + blueberries (seasonal) The quality of Jeni's ice cream surpasses many other restaurant or store-bought brands, made with fresh, hand-picked ingredients and local milk from Snowville Creamery. The flavors have a weird way of working well together, no matter what they put out on display... I remember an "olive oil + pepita + sea salt" flavor and a "zucchini bread" flavor they had. It's the epitome of a successful central Ohio establishment that takes risks and doesn't apologize! I love the Bexley shop because I can bike straight here from my parents' house, and it's not quite as busy as the downtown locations. The staff is generally friendly and will accommodate to your (many) taste curiosities. But I think the REAL stars are the ice cream sandwiches at Jeni's -- the chocolate hazelnut is to die for! The only setback is they've raised their prices almost every year, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do, right? I've always supported Jeni, shop, store, or online, and recommend everyone to try, although it's hard to find anyone who HASN'T tried it yet!

Our floats and sundae were all delicious - rich, deep flavors in the ice creams and the extra-bitter hot fudge was incredible! The service was absolutely lovely as well!

Jeni's ice cream is definitely worth going off the diet for! Flavorful, creamy, not sugary, local ingredients. Yum!

I was in Columbus this weekend, so of course, I had to stop at a Jeni's. I like this location because it's larger, and has more flavors. This time I went with the almond brittle and brambleberry pie. I also really liked the seven layer bar. I'm not a fan of salted caramel, but if that's your thing, it's very popular. The dark chocolate is so rich. I love how fresh the ice cream is, and the unique flavors.

Delicious! If you're in the mood for more out-of-the-box flavors, Jeni's is the place. However, it's on the pricey end in terms of just getting a scoop, but it's handcrafted and worth it. A great place to take out-of-towners to showcase some Cbus goods!

  • Liza V.

I think this is my favorite Jeni's location. Maybe because it's nice and spacious. But probably because I can ride my bike up the bike trail from my house, and make myself feel better about getting a trio. Or a sundae with all the added stuff. Who cares? It's Jeni's and you're gonna get the best ice cream EVER no matter what location you go to! I tried three new flavors on my most recent visit: Savannah Buttermint, Banana French Toast, and the Peach Jam flavor (I forget the whole name). Holy Crap! They were all so freaking fantastic! I usually get at least one of my go-to flavors, but I branched out because I couldn't say no to any of them after trying these three. Summatime is on the wayyyy!

  • Mechelle S.

Everything here is amazing. I come two or three times a week. Try the goat cheese and red cherries (it's awesome, promise) or the blueberry and lemon for something lighter. They change flavors a lot so it's always fun to see what they have.

Delicious ice cream. Friendly workers. Clean updated decor. Expensive though. $13 for 3 scoops of ice cream.

I love this place!!! Over the last several months the staff has changed and everyone has been a dream! The ice cream is divine and so unique! No better place to turn frowns upside down and smiles into cheesy grins.

the seasonal Lemon Buttermilk Tart Frozen Yogurt is like heaven on earth! tastes just like homemade lemon meringue pie! best of all it's GF! hope this stays on the menu permanently.

Love the Bexley Jeni's. Cozy enough seating in an adorable neighborhood. There a ton of flavors and they encourage you to try each one. Don't be scared. After trying all of the newest flavors (try the pumpernickel. Strangest ice cream ever), I settled in on the Loveless Biscuits with Peach Jam of Nashville fame. Creamy, sweet, salty. Lots of little biscuity bits. I approve.

I have only good things to say about Jeni's ice cream. I know people who work for her and have worked for her and the greatness goes beyond the product itself. Some may throw out that the price is high, but you get what you pay for and if you want processed crap ice cream then go elsewhere, because Jeni's ice cream is the real thing. On a sidenote my Grandma loves Jeni's ice cream so i get her several pints for her on her birthday or just other occasions.

  • Tara B.

Okay so I don't have to tell you about the ice cream because we all know that it is the bombdotcom. We all know how awesome Jeni is and how awesome the shops are and whatnot, so let's just focus on the location. This is definitely my favorite Jeni's. Zero fuss getting here and getting inside to put ice cream in my belly like there can be at some of the other nearby locations. There's a parking lot across the street or between the condos in the back (behind Jeni's and Rusty Bucket). Parking in the back lot is more difficult, but there is always parking across the street. The inside is adorable (duh, they always are) and roomy. There's lots of space to sit and eat with friends inside or outside weather permitting. The staff has always been crazy friendly and helpful, but you can pretty much expect top-knotch service from any Jeni's location. All the flavors and sundae options are available here (unlike the German Village location), so IMO this place has literally everything you could possibly want from a Jeni's store.

  • Bryant M.

This is Jeni's hidden gem! Somehow the Bexley scoop shop has become my favorite of the Jeni's locations. Maybe it's my love of Lisa S. Maybe it's the lovely downtown Bexley. Or maybe it's because I don't have to fight for parking or wait in line like the Short North, Grandview, and the North Market locations. Don't get me wrong, I love all the Jeni's scoop shops, but there's just something about the Bexley shop. Maybe it's that damn Cherry Cheesecake Parfait.

    (5)
  • Bethany K.

This location has the nicest employees. You can sample as many flavors as you like. The best part is that they support local Ohio businesses. My favorite time of year is here... Sweet Corn and Black Raspberry! WIN!

  • Reuel K.

Not much of a gourmet ice cream fan but I love trying different things. I had a yazoo sue and it tastes like cardamom and love nuts in it.

  • Keith M.

What is there to say about a Jeni's that hasn't been said? Probably not much. This location has a great staff and a great location. It's large enough to handle even their busiest crowds and is never as crowded as Grandview or Short North. You can count on getting great service, amazing ice cream and getting out of there without a hassle. Parking is usually a breeze - there is a lot of on-street parking (without meters!) and a lot directly across main from the store. They have plenty of seating inside as well as several tables outside for when the weather is perfect. In the words of Liz M. - "PS-we all know the ice cream, yogurts, and sorbets are something special. Goes without saying." and to paraphrase Bryant M. - the cherry cheesecake parfait is so wonderful that I might need a crisis intervention if it ever disappears from the menu.

  • Bridget K.

Jeni, I love your ice cream how can I make it mine? As most of the other reviewers have said Jeni's is awesome! I love ice cream and Cbus! Jeni's brings two of my loves together in one place! I wish the packaging for the pints says something about being from Cbus, but I won't hold that against Jeni. You can't go wrong when picking a ice cream here. The last time I got two scoops of the Buckeye State along with the Milkiest Chocolate in the World. I was in heaven. I can't wait for my next trip to Jeni's!

  • Jennifer L.

My first taste of Jeni's was absolutely spectacular. Brambleberry crisp and the WHEATGRASS, PEAR, & VINHO VERDE SORBET were ON POINT.

  • Mike D.

A wise and beautiful woman once said "Jeni's is my happy place." I couldn't agree more. It's just damn tasty. It's local. They support local farms and local ingredients. What's not to like? Price? Pay more for an excellent product! I'm all for ice cream, and this is as good as I have found in terms of variety, flavor, and uniqueness-osity Part of my joy in this place is bringing people to a Jeni's for the first time -- it's just plain fun to watch. Go. Enjoy. Go back. Enjoy more. Gain about 20 pounds, realize you need to exercise more to fit in more Jeni's.

Hey. If the Brits at the BBC ranked this the number one ice cream in America -- and Martha Stewart raved about Jeni's book -- who am I to argue? And I didn't need them to tell me. Her ice creams are amazing. Even the hot fudge is swoonworthy. My favorite flavors used to be Gravel Road (salty caramel with smoked almonds) and Askinase (sp?) Chocolate until they made them pint-exclusive. Now I love the new banana one and Roxbury Road. I mean, how often do you take a small bite of ice cream, sense lots of different textures, and then taste waves of flavor that elicit groans? Not often enough. So, hurray Jeni!

Complex flavors, creamy and decadent Bangkok peanut along with black coffee on a fresh waffle cone. This place rocks, that's all you need to know.

  • Mark H.

Jeni's ice cream is truly splendid. I had the salty caramel, pretty good. Also the Black Coffee which was outstanding! This was my 1st time with Jeni's. I had always heard about it. It's good. Why not 5 stars? Way too pricey. $4.50 for the small which is 2 tiny scoops. I don't think they care because we line up out of the door. This is one of the main reasons I had yet to try the product because the wait (like at Easton) is about a half hour. We only had to wait a few long minutes at the Bexley location.

OMG This is far and way the best ice cream in Columbus. Well, maybe anywhere as far as chains go. It uses organic or natural ingredients and you can clearly taste the difference. There's no rBST milk pus in this ice cream. Plus, most importantly, when I'm eating it I know that I can be confident the ingredients aren't going to harm me.

Jeni's is truly splendid. I love Jeni's ice cream and I will chose it over any other ice cream offering in town. Now, it's no Hungarian ice cream, but since a pricey plane ticket and 8 hours flying is involved in me getting some of that, I will happily settle for Jeni's Ice Cream. The Pear Riesling, Cherry Lambic and Salty Caramel are some of my favorites there. My friend Erin would tell you to get their Savannah Buttermint but I doubt you'll be disappointed with whatever you choose. I've been to other Jeni's locations but this one is nearest to me and the one I've been to most. The staff is very friendly and prices are good. Summer is coming... get to a Jeni's!

I was told by one of the managers that they love when customers try the samples-- This is great news, because you're going to be overwhelmed by delicious options! This place has a near-5 star review history for a reason and I'm not sure I can add a new twist, so let me just tell you about some of the treasures I tasted while on my Columbus vacation: - The unexpected delight of the day was the Pistachio & Honey flavor. On their own I like those flavors so-so, but together they're like BAM-- Delicious! - Salted Caramel, Dark Chocolate, and Buckeye State (peanut butter with specks of chocolate) are customer favorites for very well-deserved reasons. - Queen City Cayenne is a spicy twist on chocolate ice cream, but a little goes a long way. Same goes for the Bangkok Peanut. - The homemade marshmallows in the Roxbury Road were perfect. - The homemade almond brittle in the Almond Brittle Praline ice cream was so delectable that I had to buy a bag of it to take home! - Cherry Lambic Sorbet, delightfully tart and sweet and full of flavor. - We were sad to see Goat Cheese with Cognac Fig has gone away, but Goat Cheese with Red Cherries is a solid replacement. It's like cherry cheesecake. - Savannah Buttermint is one of the best mint ice creams I've ever had. I cannot say enough good things about Jeni's. We have the book and have made some of the recipes at home-- They were very good but it was nice to compare them to the actual store flavors. I just wish we had a location closer to us in Cincinnati so we could go all the time!

Dude... It's Jeni's. Any location that serves this orgasmic ice cream is good enough for me. The reason I love this location is because it's literally a 3-5 minute drive from my apartment, or a good 15-20 minute walk. The staff is always friendly and quick with orders. They also have a pretty good parking situation, unlike the other locations (Short North, I'm talking to you).

My husband and I have a section in our budget just for Jeni's. That should tell you about my relationship with this place. My favorite flavors are the dark chocolate, the salty caramel, the goat cheese and cherries, and the bramble berry crisp. Everything is very rich, fresh, and flavorful. You can sample as many flavors as you want and I recommend doing so.

  • Gwen D.

Jeni's is my happy place. Ice cream that tastes like what dreams are made of, bright and cheerful stores, friendly employees who always look happy to be at work. Went there for the 5 thousandth time tonight and discovered the joys of sandwiching Dark Chocolate between Backyard Mint and Buckeye State (shout-out to Krema for their delicious peanut butter!). Mmmmm... To summarize - When you're weary, feeling small, when tears are in your eyes, this ice cream will dry them all.

Like cupcakes, there's no such thing as bad ice cream. Jeni's is the perfect way to end a movie at the Drexel. Just walk a few blocks along this charming section of Main in Bexley, and there you are. Whiskey and Pecans on a sugar cone was my choice this last visit. Mmm! Friendly service, too.

I'm on the fence about this review. On the one hand, I recognize and appreciate the quality of the ice cream, its ingredients, and the unusual flavor combinations that Jeni has created. It's masterful. On the other hand, I didn't love the ice cream and probably prefer Graeter's (though I haven't had it in years) and certainly prefer other alternatives such as Scream Sorbet in Oakland, California, that truly knocks my socks off. The folks at the store were gracious and helpful, allowing me to sample as many flavors as I wanted. Some of the more interesting flavor combinations were Wildberry Lavender, Cantaloupe, Blueberry Corn, Bangkok Peanut, and Brown butter Brittle, among others. My favorite flavor, however, was the traditional, missionary position, standard flavor of Dark Chocolate. It was quite good. The Brown Butter Brittle and the Salted Carmel weren't as pronounced in flavor as I would have hoped. There is a vegan Salted Carmel ice cream at Stogo in the Village in New York that I preferred in flavor over this. At the same time, I do not question the premium ingredients that Jeni uses. If you are an ice cream aficionado, go. If you like ice cream periodically, go. This is an excellent ice cream store, and my appreication of its excellence in the prime basis for my rating. I have enjoyed others more, however, and for that reason I do not grant Jeni's five-stars, even if she is touted as being the best ice cream in the United States by multiple publications.

  • Anna C.

Jeni's offers the best in ingredients, flavors, and atmosphere! it's not the place to go to by chocolate...or vanilla. UNLESS you want the deepest darkest chocolate! Or the BEST vanilla with Madagascar beans! It's not DQ...but it IS fabulous!

  • Brad S.

The Bexley location is great - modern decor, plenty of parking across the street, good interior and exterior seating. So much has been written about her ice cream already that I won't go into it to much. Suffice to say, I have yet to find a flavor that's "wrong". I certainly have some I prefer over others, but all of the flavors are objectively interesting and spot-on. While I love the backyard mint, I can still appreciate the importance of the spicy chocolate. All of the varieties are just remarkably complex, layered, and distinctive.

OMG This was sooo goood!! My coworker had told me about it after her trip to Ohio, so I was definitely on the lookout. Didn't realize Jeni's was a chain until we yelped it, but it was AMAZING! We happened to be nearest the Bexley location, so that's where we went. I tried probably half the flavors there and my coworker bought two scoops while I waited for after dinner. She had the pear sorbet and the chocolate ice cream, both of which were super tasty. The pear/riesling sorbet had a deep, fresh pear flavor, but I was more into the fattier, richer chocolate ice cream. After dinner, I sampled a couple more, and decided on the two that I had tried first - Brambleberry crumble and browned butter almond brittle. OMG SOOO GOOD! The two scoop cup is small and expensive at $4, but I was so full after - so rich. The brambleberry was so fruity and the crumble was actually still crisp even after being in the ice cream. The almond brittle ice cream had a very complex flavor, but the only drawback is that it is very sweet. A sampling was just fine, but a scoop was a little too much. I still downed the whole thing, but if there was a way to pull back on the sugar a little, this would be perfect. OMG I have to go back! What a great find and I don't even mind that it's a chain because it'll all be nearer to me!

Really good ice cream, yogurt and sorbet. Don't come here and expect your typical ice cream parlor experience. I would describe everything as artisanal. Flavors were inventive and unique with combinations you would never think as being good together. Very fresh ingredients. Very friendly staff who will let you try anything and everything.

My boyfriend and I stopped by this Jeni's location on a cold, rainy winter afternoon. I tried a number of flavors, and finally decided on a scoop of the Salted Caramel and a scoop of the Riesling Pear Sorbet on a sugar cone. It was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. My boyfriend had two scoops of an ultra-chocolate-y ice cream on a waffle cone. I didn't try it because I'm not too fond of chocolate ice cream, but he said it was very good. I like the decor, especially the cute tissue paper flowers they put on the tables. I just wish the seating were a tad bit more comfortable.

Jeni's ice cream is more than a great place to impress an out-of-towner. Jeni Britton Bauer had taken a small batch ice creamery and made a statement about how we should consume. Locally, sustainably, and always with plenty of butterfat. When selecting, don't try to decide without a taste. The tiny plastic spoons seem too insignificant to capture everything Ohio Sweet Corn Blueberry has to offer. But, alas, these tiny mouth-watering bits of frozen dairy find ways to express themselves even in small packages. Jeni's may seem pricey for a couple scoops of ice cream, but they seem like a bargain when you realize what this truly is - a couple scoops of heaven.

As evidenced by all of the previous reviews and the overall 5 star rating that this Jeni's has garnished...I shall only gloriously & grossly reinforce said 5 start rating. Let the carnage begin! Ice cream at it's finest & most creative. Jeni's literally has and will calmly and patiently help you find the "perfect" ice cream for you and/or whatever you're craving at the moment. Their changing seasonal flavors are not only appropriate, but they are delicious and leave you wishing they'd be permanently added to the menu. Alas...they disappear with the changing of the leaves and the warming temps only leaving you the strong desire to return and get that next bigger size when the appropriate season/flavor returns. Perhaps the most impressive/surprising thing was that even one of the toughest critics I know in regards to food, my father, was tremendously impressed and loved Jeni's. Pop's is the "meat & potatoes" and straight up soft serve vanilla or perhaps the "O' so racy" chocolate malt on occasion. Alas, the Big Guy was blow away by the ice cream he choose and on past visits has asked to return for some Jeni's each time he's back in town. This location in Bexley is near perfect. A short walk from scenic Capital University and literally sandwiched in between two other restaurants. There is an appropriate amount of outside space to enjoy, weather permitting. Inside seating is somewhat limited but never seems to be an issue. Clean, bright, and modern. Treat yourself to Jeni's ASAP....and make it two scoops instead of one!

This is a high complement from a Portlander when I say Jeni's is the Vodoo donut of Ice cream. They take interesting and sometimes odd ingredients that you never would expect to be used in Ice cream to create something surprisingly good. I had a scoop of cayenne ice cream, whiskey & pecan, and buckeye state flavor (like a butterscotch) in a cup. All individual flavors were good by themselves but also complemented each other (which was not planned or expected). I imagine all their flavors are as delicious and complement each other so be adventurous and check this place out. It's semi famous and a must for tourist. Be Awesome!

So whats unique about Ohio? it has to be ice cream. Graeters, Stricklands and now Jenis. Sample everything-they'll let you taste every designer flavor they make. Don't miss the salty caramel though, it's the bees knees.

I'm a huge ice cream fan. A fan of any food, really. However, Jeni's has a huge selection of delicious flavors that I LOVE. Every time you walk into that place, it smells incredible and you know you are about to get into something really good. Try it and you'll be happy you did.

This Christmas, a dear friend and fellow Manhattan-transplant (originally from Bexley, Ohio) ordered my family an extravagant gift: jeni's Ice Cream. Tracking the daily delivery via fedex of the special gift to our New York City apartment, I couldn't wait to taste the marvelous flavor combinations, which I'd heard about and read many online articles about. Your imagination is tickled when you read or hear about the flavors, but once you actually taste jeni's, the experience triggers a visceral emotion, sending you on an ingredient adventure. you can't help but close your eyes and picture yourself actually biting into the carefully chosen, Ohio-based, local, organic, farm-raised component. It's a journey to be experienced... With delight, our family opened the exquisite package, filled with misty dry ice and surprising us with six amazing, taste-bud exploding high-end flavors. Each of the six pint-sized containers with nice, bright orange graphic labels had hand-written titles declaring each tasty ice cream flavor: Lime Cardamom with Ligonberries, Salty Caramel, Thai Chili, Belgian Milk Chocolate, Honey Pistachio and Apple Cider Sorbet. Here's a brief review of the ice creams, which we loved: 1. Honey Pistachio honey, meet pistachio. pistachio, meet honey. pure delight. i noticed a hint of sea salt, which adds another dimension to counter-balance the sweetness. 2. Thai Chili i've never had an ice cream with paprika as an ingredient. surprisingly mellow, with a slight kick of spice from the paprika, the coconut and kinda peanut butter flavored, chalky-ness of this ice cream made it a winner. 3. Belgian Milk Chocolate a dark variety. elegant, silky and lip smacking. 4. Lime Cardamom with Ligonberries Citrus-limey, tangy tart, vibrant and bright. Red velvety ribbons of the ligonberries accompany the smooth white ice cream. it'll make you wince, but it'll also make you smile. 5. Salty Caramel have you ever had caramel...in ice cream form? this is it. 6. Apple Cider Sorbet perhaps it's our aversion to black licorice or the star anise flavor, but this one was, out of the six flavors, the one we decided to finish first. it was refreshing nonetheless. we wanted to keep the best ones for last and we made sure to sample just a little bit every day. If you are lucky enough to have jeni's, i highly recommend it! whenever i'll be in Ohio, I'll be sure to visit and enjoy more jeni's - i wouldn't miss it. Yes, there can only be one word used to describe Jeni's: splendid

Love, love, LOVE Jeni's Ice Creams. They have eclectic flavors and allow you to taste before you buy. Who would have thought ice cream with red pepper would be good? Of course, my favorite is salty caramel. It's like heaven on a spoon.

What else can I say about how great this place is that hasn't been said already? They have a fantastic visionary at the helm, a fantastic dedicated and helpful staff, they source tons of local and organic products, and the finished product is a fantastic experience that you won't find elsewhere. Fantastic! The only thing I have ever been disappointed with is their so called "dry" sodas. I didn't find them to be dry at all, just off balance. Which saddened me as I love Jeni's so much and I fancy myself a connoisseur of fine sodas. A couple must tries are the strawberry buttermilk and the gravel road.

Jeni's Ice Cream is simply sublime. Everyone raves about Graeter's but I think Jeni's runs circles around them. Every ice cream is made from only the freshest ingredients available and, while there are some flavours that are always on the menu, there are seasonal flavours featured year found. I've had the pleasure to enjoy Jeni's at several of their locations in the Columbus area over the last 5 years and have never had a bad experience. I haven't even found ice cream to rival Jeni's in Chicago, San Francisco or Los Angeles. People complain about the prices sometimes, but $5 for 3 scoops of hand-made original flavours is not asking much. Yes, the flavours are out there but at Jeni's they expect you to branch out and try new things (novel concept, eh?). Aside from scoops, they offer sundaes and other concoctions to further enhance your experience. Skeptical about liking a flavour, not a problem, you can sample each and every flavour to your hearts content. A few flavours that are absolute must haves are the Cherry Lambic, Wildberry Lavender, Riesling Poached Pear, Sweet Corn and Black Raspberries (yes, corn) and Goat Cheese and Red Cherries. The Bexley location is located in a great area only steps from the restaurants and just down the block from both the movie theater and Capital University.

The store has a nice open atmosphere and the staff are always pleasant. I go here for special occasions mainly. In my mind it has what I would consider a foodie's favorite ice creams. For exotic flavors you should not go anywhere else.

  • Ashley R.

They change flavors a lot so it's always fun to see what they have.

the seasonal Lemon Buttermilk Tart Frozen Yogurt is like heaven on earth! tastes just like homemade lemon meringue pie! best of all it's GF! hope this stays on the menu permanently.

This location has the nicest employees. You can sample as many flavors as you like. The best part is that they support local Ohio businesses. My favorite time of year is here... Sweet Corn and Black Raspberry! WIN!

  • Liz M.

Was introduced to Jeni's by my sweetheart when I moved back to Columbus a couple months ago. Took my mother here for a quick get away from everyone. We were the first customers there and the store was quiet. Mom loved it immediately because she could smell the waffle cones from down the street! :) The workers were exceptionally nice as I took mom around and handpicked what she should taste test. She picked The Buckeye State and Lemon & Blueberries. She was very impressed. I had Brambleberry Crisp (a staple) and Plum Sake Sorbet (THE staple). The conversation was fabulous and mom was able to relax. I love the fresh flavors and (usually) the staff. We will be back... often!

Simply put there is no better ice cream in this country. The banana and honey ice cream I had is like eating a creamy delicious bowl of banana bread batter frozen and made into an amazing consistency, and the bangkok peanut is like nothing I have ever tasted in ice cream before a magnificent blend of spicy peanut-buttery coconut.

I was really looking forward to trying out this local chain - so many unique flavors. It was awesome to taste so many of them - Riesling pear sorbet, an almond butter crunch, a goat cheese fig cognac one, and a couple others - all truly unique. I went with a scoop of the queen city cayenne which offers a kick in the throat like no other ice cream and a scoop of the Ugandan vanilla. It is a bit pricey - 2 scoops is over $4 but I enjoyed trying this place out.

Really really really overrated. Weird flavors, not really creamy (like its neighbor Graeter's), and absurdly expensive. Does not offer value anywhere near commensurate to the price.

After a handful of friends from the Findlay area and a Columbus Yelper crowed about Jeni's in the past year, I finally had an opportunity to try this sacred cow of Columbus. I wanted to find out what the fuss was all about. After all, I can drive five minutes and pick up a killer sundae if I wanted. The Short North location had a waiting line out the door, but Bexley provided the right opportunity for me to sample their wares. Overall, I like their take on different flavors. Their inventiveness brings about curiosity and adventure. It's not every day you see flavors like "Queen City Cayenne." I would have to say that idea is their strongest selling point. The server behind the counter was more than happy to let me sample the ice cream to find a flavor I liked. I appreciated it, and decided on a Black & Tan sundae. Bottom line: it was delicious. I can honestly say I am a fan of their ice cream, however the price prevented Jeni's from 5-star status. I'm not sure if the $6.00 sundae or tacit shilling for tips was the clincher, but the ice cream wasn't worth that much... not even by a long shot. The quality of the ice cream was no different than the shops around here, and they're half that price. The different flavors were the only unique characteristic between them. So, what should people take away from this? I suppose it would be if you want to spend that kind of money, then go for it. You won't be disappointed in any of their products, however I couldn't see myself dropping $6.00 every single time. I've got bills to pay.

We moved to New Albany and had heard about Jeni's from day one. We had to see what all the fuss was about. Now I know. Rich, luxurious, gourmet combinations of ice cream. This is quite possibly the best ice cream I have ever tried, and tried and tried,

So, yeah, everyone knows Jeni's is basically the best ice cream on the planet. This is what Columbus should be most popular for- it really is that good. The naysayers can be damned in a goat's eye. The Jeni's location in the Bexley Gateway complex is especially charming, though. While the Short North location is wonderful- a perfect little cafe-like spot to watch the ecclectica of the Short North flow by- this is a warmer, friendlier approach. Big and open, with short stool-like chairs that are comfortable and somehow childlike, this is probably my new favorite Jeni's location. It was already taken over by children, but there was a whole corner painted with blackboard paint, with an invitation to draw with supplied chalk. Oh how I coveted the table by this strategic position. Oh well. The employees here are unusually perky and friendly. Maybe they're so damned happy to work in such a clean, beautiful store. And is it just me, or are the scoops here just a bit bigger than either the Short North or North Market locations? Oops, I hope I didn't get anyone in trouble! A delicious location to match the most delicious ice cream in the world. In Heaven there will be a Jeni's where the ice cream- and that ridiculously expensive but oh-so-wonderful Dry soda- is always free. Hallelujah!

My rating is really 4.5 stars. Having only tried it one time I don't feel like I have had the opportunity to sample enough flavors to go for a 5 star rating. BUT, I must say I absolutely LOVED this place and can not wait to go back. I live in Cincinnati and if you know anything about people in my town it's that we claim the best ice cream in the world comes from a famous family owned establishment. While I love the ice cream they serve, I will say their stores are quite cold (no pun intended), obviously corporate and lack the welcomeness I found at Jeni's. Atmosphere here is 5 stars for sure! The moment I walked into the shop the most decadent aroma permeated my being and I found my mouth watering instantly. Now onto my selection. I have been DYING to try the salty caramel ice cream for quite sometime and just haven't had a chance to make the trip to Columbus. So instead of groaning when my husband told me I needed to make the two hour drive to the Columbus airport, I found it as the perfect excuse to finally take the time to savor some Jeni's. I went with the three scoop because I didn't think one scoop of the Salty Caramel would be enough and I really wanted to be able to try at least one other flavor. I chose the Dark Chocolate to compliment. It was good, what I expected for a dark chocolate ice cream but not unforgettable. I rate that combination a 4.5. Next time I will go with the Black Coffee or Queen City Cayenne as the compliment flavor. But that Salty Caramel ice cream? Definitely one of the best ice creams I have EVER tasted, 5 stars and BETTER than the Caramel offering at the world famous ice cream place in Cincinnati.

Jeni's ice cream really is that good. (The other half heard about Graeter's when he was in Cincinnati; the store-bought kind paled in comparison to Jeni's. Maybe it's better fresh.) I travel through Columbus fairly often on business, and try to stop at Jeni's for a fix each time. My two favourites right now are the salty caramel and the Queen City cayenne (dark chocolate with a lurking kick!); the goat-cheese-and-fruit flavours are sublime as well. One of these days I have to try the cherry lambic just because of the colour. They have a nice, easy-to-get-to location, and seating both inside and outside. It's never been that crazy when I've been there, though that's usually on a Sunday morning. Stopping at Jeni's is a delicious pause in a busy weekend of work.

Great ice cream, with some different yet yummy flavors or combinations of flavors. I think i prefer Johnsons down the street if you want classic flavors but you can't go wrong with Jeni's and their diverse mixtures.

I love Jeni's. They're always friendly and you can always try whatever you would like. They also are quite knowledgeable about what they're serving and can offer great pairing suggestions.
