I went in with some (8 of us total - 2 drinking only water) colleagues for drinks and appetizers. It was 3:30 on a Thursday, and the place was empty. We sat in the bar area at a table, ordered a round of drinks which showed up promptly. And from there on, we waited. Our server was nice in a completely dingbat way (picture a confused smile with a head tilt), and man was she sloooooow. Was she the only person in the place? Did she have to run out to pick someone up at the Columbus airport? I'm not sure, but she was MIA. And it was due to being busy. Additionally, the appetizers have really gone downhill. The crab dip was mediocre, the salmon cakes were dry, and tasted much more fishy than I remember from last time, and the fried mushrooms were fried in oil too hot or something, because they were crunchy on the outside and gooey and lukewarm on the inside. Oh, and the "sushi" roll - I forget what it's called, had a seaweed wrap under the rice that tasted like it was turning...yuk. The wine was so-so, and for the HH prices, I guess I won't complain too much about this, but I won't go here for anything full price.

Excellent experience. The service was great and the food was incredible. It was a little bit more expensive than what I usually go for but it was well worth it.

This review is strictly about the food and drink- my husband already wrote about the rest of our experience so I shouldn't harp on it. When we came here on a date, I tried the Cranberry Mojito, the Blackberry Press, the Apricot Spice Martini, the Crab and Artichoke Dip and the Maine Lobster Bisque. All three of the cocktails were delicious!! The mojito was cool and refreshing, the press was tangy, and the martini, the best of the three, had a nice kick to it. I thoroughly enjoyed all three drinks! The artichoke dip was AMAZING!!! Oh my god, BEST ARTICHOKE DIP I HAVE EVER HAD!!! So rich and creamy- and absolutely delicious!! The crab and shrimp in it just made it magical! And the pita chips are a prefect compliment to it, plus they are far sturdier for scooping :) Originally I had ordered the salmon rigatoni. They were out of it, which turned out to be my good fortune because by the time they came to tell me and get me something else, I was fairly stuffed from drinks and artichoke dip heaven. So I opted for something lighter- the Lobster Bisque. The bisque was wonderful- they serve the lobster meat in bowl and then poured the bisque in the bowl in front of you. Nice :) The bisque was rich, creamy, and flavorful, and loaded with scrumptious lobster nuggets! So happy I got the bisque! Overall, the food here is AMAZING!!!! Definitely the best I've had since coming to the Dayton area a couple months ago :)

I have dined at one of these in the Minneapolis area before and had a great experience, not so much here. Our group of 13 were seated so close to a beam that one of our party could barely breathe. The entire space was cramped but the restaurant had plenty of space. The service was very slow, waited nearly 20 min for our main courses and then nearly every one was delivered to the wrong party. One person'a order was totally forgotten! The food was 2 star at the best, but the facility and the service dropped it to a 1 star. Very disappointing dining experience!

Never had a bad meal here. The happy hour is just that! Great snacks to full menu options available. My faves are the mac n cheese and the bacon-wrapped shrimp. That's not to say the crab cakes or lobster bisque isn't top shelf too tho! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Just an excellent dining experience nestled in one of the coolest shopping places around. Nice

Typical corporate fare. Two of us went for happy hour on a Friday. We sat in the bar area with no wait. Service was professional and quick. We had several drinks and several apps. Drinks were great! Each drink was made fresh as we waited with fresh squeezed fruits, and premium pours. Bartender prepared and served drinks flawlessly. Food was nothing special. Location is prime, as we were footsteps from the live concert at the square in the Greene. Overall, better than average. I would recomend for a business group.

Although we are Landry's Club members, we typically do not go to a M&S since there is not one convenient to our home in Pittsburgh. However, while in Dayton last weekend--on a rainy visit to The Greene, we had to duck into the closest place for lunch when the skies opened up with greater intensity. It was unusually empty for a Friday at noon so we decided to sit at the bar. We enjoy sitting at the bar when we are out of town--there's more an opportunity to learn about the area and the people. Since it happened to be National Martini Day, we decided that we just had to have martinis before lunch. They did have a National Martini Day Martini menu but we opted for our standard, no-nonsense martinis. The bartender was great--very personable and he made an amazing martini! Truly amazing. I had the lobster bisque and my husband had a seafood cob salad. The bisque was very traditional and quite good. The salad was presented beautifully--very artistic. My husband said it was great. Although I can appreciate some folks' comments here, I have to say that I would definitely go back when we are in Dayton. The bartender made it a great visit for us. It was an added bonus that we could earn Landry points!

Unimpressive for the price. Service was good, seated immediately (we had reservations on a Wed night). Ordered a Cosmo. Tasty but small for $11. I ordered the Beef Medallions with Shrimp Scampi. Beef came out very rare (ordered it medium). There were 5 small, thin slices, about 2-3 oz at most. Three medium shrimps. Both were good but the portion was puny. Mashed potatoes and green beans were adequate but nothing impressive. Hubby had the Cashew Crusted Talapia w/sweet potato orzo. The fish seemed undercooked - mushy in texture. He couldn't finish it. The orzo was good. We finished with creme brûlée & molten chocolate cake. Both were ok. So, for $65 we left still a bit hungry and underwhelmed. I would have had a second drink if the first one were worth the $11. I don't think we'll return. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe it was an "off" night, but we were one table of about 6 total tables on a Wednesday night.

Went to the Veteran's Day event...they were fully booked for the entire day. They had a special menu with several options for the vets. I had the fish & chips. Not bad. I received a luke warm dish at first, but they brought me a hot, new fire with more fish the 2nd time. I enjoyed the professional and friendly staff. The bartenders were on fire preparing drink after drink. I really appreciate the event -- after all, they do not have to offer anything at all. Overall, the food and customer service was good. Thank you for supporting vets!

I went to McCormick & Schmick's for the first time for my boyfriends birthday dinner and I as shocked at the prices of everything on the menu and even more appalled at the portion sizes. I ordered the stuffed shrimp ($25 yikes!) which was very delicious and my boyfriend ordered the lobster ravioli ($29? I think) which only came with four stuffed ravioli pieces!!! Thank god for his generous parents who payed for the bill because I could never justify paying for such nonsense!

Just dined here yesterday. It was my boyfriend's birthday a few days ago, and his family treated him here. Perhaps comparing this place to Fleming's is unfair, but that's the grounds for my review. My first impression of the atmosphere was that of a Olive Garden crossed with the Pub. Well, maybe not quite the Pub... but it felt a bit too casual. My boyfriend's family ordered an excellent wine to compliment our dinner. Bottinni Pinot Grigio, I believe? The server didn't seem to have a base knowledge of wine. He didn't offer any specific suggestions when we inquired. Our appetizer was FANTASTIC... the crab dip served with crispy pita bread. I loved it. There was so much crab meat in the heavy mixture!! I ordered the Jake's Famous Bouillabaisse on the seasonal menu. I've got to say, the portion size of this was quite disappointing. It's described as "King Crab, Shrimp, Clams, Mussels, Calamari, and Fresh Fish Simmered in a Savory Broth. I RECEIVED one crab leg cut in half, 3 shrimp, 3 clams, 2 mussels, 6-7 pieces of calamari, and I'm not sure if there was any fish in the broth... I was very disappointed. And that's a huge understatement. Had I not been dining with my boyfriend's family, I probably would have said something. I'm not one to usually say something, but I did not find the price to match the quality of the food. Everyone else seemed content with their dishes. Perhaps I ordered something that was a temporary fluke on the menu. (Perhaps seasonal dishes aren't as refined as some of the regular menu choices.) I ordered the creme brulee for dessert, and it was decent. But it was served too cold. Fleming's serves theirs at room temperature, and I asked around first to make sure that was proper (and not just my own preference.) Overall, I'd come back for that amazing crab dip.... a few of my friends have told me their happy hour is great. I'll come back to try that. I actually looked at it online, and it looks pretty tasty. I probably won't dine in the main dining area again.

It's so disappointing that this specific restaurant in the chain is so mediocre. I visited many of their across the country and this unfortunately is the worst one. It's the perfect storm of mediocre food, indifferent service and high prices. I'm thinking that this place needs a management change.

Had my first disappointment at McC&S today. My date ordered Amberjack. After a bit, the waiter returned and informed it was not available (even though it was prominently featured on the menu). We were early for dinner so it was highly unlikely they had already served the entire stock before her order. The next problem was my drink order for Dry Sack sherry off the desert menu. Again I was subsequently informed they were out of it. A first class restaurant doesn't list out of stock items or at least informs the wait staff of the problem. What we did have for dinner was very good as usual but two shortages without anyone other than the kitchen and bar staff aware of it is poor form.

0 Stars. Would not recommend period! Went last week for a girls night out. 5 ladies attended we waited 10 minutes for a drink order which was taken by a not so friendly server with bad breath. Appetizer crab dip and stuffed mushrooms was good but tiny. No one at the table was satisfied with their entree which ranged from the chicken pasta to seafood samplers. So bland and expensively not worth it! One guest sent her food back due to chicken being overdone, the apathetic Manager came over and offered a half apology. I called the next morning and requested a Manager return my call...I'm still waiting for that call! Could have put our money together purchased groceries and had a real meal.

So sad had to leave the restaurant could not get waited on. It's a shame when your presence is noticed but not acknowledged. Will never return again.

Went there for dinner alone. I will be taking someone out for a special dinner so I wanted to scout out some different locations. Glad I did. I asked for a table but the hostess was very insistent I eat at the bar. She told me it would be a long wait. While I was waiting others came up and were seated. I finally surrendered and was disappointed. The music was so loud I had to repeat it several times so I wasn't surprised the order was wrong. One other small thing bread was not served with dinner. The consistency of the fish was not good. Guessing it had been frozen for a while. Red Lobster would have been better food, better atmosphere, and a better price.

Valentine's dinner was a mixed bag. Pros: friendly, attentive waitress; delicious ribeye steak and chocolate cake, along with the bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer. Cons: tables by window next to a vent that gushes cold air during winter (they moved us when asked, so not a staff fault, just a physical one). Also, lobster tail was a meager, bland portion for $20. Calamari appetizer was bland and completely uninspiring.

Yes, another chain, but definitely a high-quality one worthy of praise. My date ordered seared ahi tuna and I ordered shrimp stuffed with crab meat. We shared our meals with one another and all said menu items were delightful to our palletes. In addition, I ordered a bloody mary which was very satisfying. My only wish was that it came with celery. It comes with several edible "things"; celery is not one of them. We had a very attentive server, as well.

I have mixed feelings about my experience here. To start, I HAVE to give a huge shout-out to Austin who worked with me to get my family a table despite having cancelled our reservation a half hour earlier. I called back expecting to beg to get out table back, but he was more than happy to work with us to get us a table. Thanks Austin! On the down side, our service was a bit slow. How waiter was very friendly and apologetic when my dad's food was wrong, but overall it just took a while to get things, even a bread basket. The food was AMAZING though. I got the Parmesan Crusted Chicken and I highly recommend it. My mom's stuffed shrimp were amazing as well. So overall, a good experience, but the service could have been quicker.

My boyfriend and I went for lunch on a Saturday. Neither of us were all that impressed with the food or the prices. We ordered shrimp kisses as an app and I'm not so sure what the raving is all about. They tasted like bacon wrapped ship to me. The filling didn't add much to it in my opinion. I had fried shrimp and though the shrimp were a decent size there wasn't anything special about them. No kick to the cocktail sauce or breaking. Honestly I felt like I could of ordered them at Red lobster for half the price. My boyfriend had the salmon, which came out as a stir fry unexpectantly, with a huge pile of rice. The lobster mashed potatoes were really good though! Our waitress was very nice as well. It's definitely not someplace I'll be asking to go to again though.

This is a great special occasion restaurant. The menu is definitely skewed toward fish and seafood, but they have top quality steaks as well. We have always had wonderful service when we were dining here, and the atmosphere is perfect for an evening out.

OK, this is a comment for the famous and well-deserved McCormick's Happy Hour only, although during my first visit, my colleagues did indeed order off the menu and enjoyed both the happy hour items and the regular menu items. They wolfed down everything in sight and I have to say both their fish dishes were beautifully prepared. I have to give McC's props for the tremendous value this standout chain offers during its Mon-Fri. happy hours. The food is very tasty and prices are dirt-cheap, and on Tuesdays they offer oysters and extra large cocktail shrimp for a buck; an amazing value, IMO. If we lived at or very near The Green my wife and I would have a standing date on Tuesdays at McC's & Schmicks! Please--- stay away so that we can sit where we want. Decent glass wine and draft beer selection (wife's Appletini was tart and strong, a bit much so), classy main dining room (white tablecloth) and bar area both. Servers were professional both times and not cloying in any way (bar area only is my experience to date). Not only would I go back, but we're intent on getting to know The Green much better this spring and summer, and intent on making this a must-visit restaurant during our trips. We have to drive 40 miles one way to discover The Green but it's going to be worth the effort when we drop down onto McCormick's. No issues whatsoever, highly recommend.

I love their fresh craft cocktails made with only the best freshly squeezed fruits. Great happy hour prices. Hank the bartender is fun and personable. We highly recommend McCormick & Schmick's.

I should have read the other reviews first. The service was average at best. The oysters were bad...very bad in fact we couldn't eat them as they were spoiled. Then my swordfish didn't look or taste like any swordfish I ever had. If I had to guess why that was the case...it was frozen. The texture was way off. Last but not least the sides that came were incredibly bland. No seasoning. We also ordered additional sides to share, but we never received those. There are so many other better places in the Dayton area. In fact, if you're fine paying these prices for a chain...then go to Flemings. They are remarkably better.

I am not one to review chain restaurants, normally. The experience has to be, out of the way, good or bad to move me to bother. Unfortunately, I am so moved. First of all, let us call a spade a spade. The food here is definitely only A-OK on their best days. When you factor in the price commanded by the McCormick's and Schmick's name you are really degrading my mental cost value equation. I want to be fair though. There is nothing wrong with the food. You get what you order, it is well prepared and it is appetizing. It is just not exciting. Second, the service... here is the section that really killed them the night I was there. Our waitress would disappear for long periods of time, at the wrong time. I definitely want to be left alone during my meal so I can enjoy the company of my friends and the food I have ordered. I do not want to be left alone for twenty minutes after I have indicated I want a drink. This last point is an excellent example of the awkward gaps in time during which the waitress seemed to stop existing. I told her I would like different glass of wine to go with my meal than the one I had enjoyed with my appetizer. She gave me the wine card and then... I had finished my meal before I saw her again. In fact, she started removing some of the plates before she asked if I had selected a wine. A similar experience happened with the appetizers and desserts. Now that I am finished, I would like to qualify my review. This was based off one experience at this location. Normally M&S gives you exactly what you expect. It is like any of the other major sit-down chains in that respect. This location just needs a little staff training. I should also point out that I do avoid chain restaurants whenever possible so I am not an impartial judge in this case.

Four of us came here on a double date and I expected it to be pretty classy and a little overpriced. The service was fine; no complaints. The steak was cooked to order and delicious (two rare things, it seems, these days). I also ordered the stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon for an appetizer, and they were fantastic. I tried my girlfriend's salmon and agreed it was very good. And the prices weren't as bad as I expected. It was actually very comparable to the Cheesecake Factory in price but boasted a better environment for special occasions. Will definitely be back one day.

Went to M&S for a sponsored inservice. The room was great but close to the kitchen. Servers were pleasant and prompt. The meal was OK but not spectacular. Filet was undercooked and sent back; a tablemate sent hers back twice and finally gave up. I have to admit the creme brûlée was good and Moscato was tasty.

  • Amy D.

The wine and the dessert were great. The service was good. The dressing for the Cesar salad was a bit thick and not well spread but the lettuce was cut to bite size. The chicken was over cooked and the sauce lacked flavor. The beans were good (steamed) but the mashed potatoes were cold and lack seasoning and flavor. Overall, this may be a better place for wine and dessert than dinner.

Did the management change here or something? My family and I went here for Christmas dinner and it was f-ing terrible! The reservations were at 5PM for 3 people. When we got there and gave the name, they said they were running a bit behind and it would be about 15-20 minutes wait. I can totally understand that - crap happens.... However, that 15-20 minute wait turned into about an hour wait AND a different party sat before us (who originally had a reservation 15 minutes after ours). We FINALLY get to the table an HOUR after our original reservation and were greeted by our waitress who was nice and did her job well but also clearly stressed out. It was obvious that they were understaffed last night as several tables were also left destroyed, waiting for the bussers. We had ordered drinks and it took quite a bit to receive them, too. Like, a solid 15 minutes. We put in our order - 3 appetizers, 3 dinners. The appetizers didn't come out at the same time and were staggered by about 10 minutes (which was weird because 1 was a salad, the other a cup of soup and both came after the fried calamari). The dinner was mediocre at best. The shrimp scampi came out barely warm and had to be sent back to be reheated (when it came back it was still not hot), the seafood trio came out luke warm and the chicken parm just was NOT worth all that wait. A couple years ago when we came, the food was much better - they even had a tradition Christmas special to order and management was walking around to ask how the food was. This year - it seemed chaotic and like nobody gave any shits about anything. I ask again - did management change? We once recommended this place to everyone and frequented it after movies but after last night, we have no plans on coming back unless management changes back to what it used to be.

I had a very good experience here. I find most McCormick & Schmick's locations to have the basic stuff down, and this was no exception. We were seated promptly in the bar area (no wait, how's that) without a reservation. Service was professional if not super warm, which is fine with me. This chain has very consistent food preparation. Both my food and my colleague's food came out well great, and each of us was pleased. The table bread was nice as well.

I got to lower their rating. So many reasons...like it fills up at happy hour and they they won't extend special pricing to patio. Several weeks ago they ran a special flier in the paper and it sounded oh so good. So later that week we headed over to lunch. Started with Gazpacho, which I normally love. This one included mint and watermelon, making it too sweet and it coated my teeth. yelp.com/biz_photos/yEvY… ? I couldn.t even finish it. I didn't see the dish (salmon and shrimp) advertised on the menu so I showed the flier to the waiter and he said "sure...we can make that up for you" If your advertising it, shouldn't you know about it?? yelp.com/biz_photos/yEvY… So looking forward to the Lemon Soufle...the flier showed it about 3 inches tall. When they brought it, it didn't even come to the top of the dish. I pulled the photo out, looked at it and laughed. Texture was a curious mixture of jello and cool whio? It was not good. yelp.com/biz_photos/yEvY… Hubby had standard Fish and Chips. He wasn't impressed. Cost for lunch (before tip) was $65. No adult beverages. Yeah...I'm done. Don't look for me to darken your doorway again.

For a restaurant with "seafood" in their name the fish and chips share third rank in Beavercreek's The Greene with Mimi's. The Pub, Bar Louie, both were better. Other fishy faire we ordered on other visits was also good, but unremarkable. So ... food is good. Not bad in any significant way, but far beneath my expectations relative to price. Now for the serious criticism. Each time we have been there was at a different time. Hot dinner hour, later in the evening, and early on a Sunday afternoon. Every single time there was LOUD TECHNO DANCE MUSIC BLASTING so much so that you had to shout at the person at the table with you. On that Sunday, we were one of about five occupied tables (in the whole place) and we asked to have the volume lowered and we were refused ... being told some story about following corporate directive. So we too will follow my family directive and never drop another dime inside.

For a high end restaurant, it's not bad, but it's not that tasty either. For the seafood restaurants I've been to in Dayton, none of them remind me of Chart House from Malibu, Ca ( chart-house.com ), which is the level of dining I'm usually thinkg of in terms of "seafood" and "table setting." I'd come here for a casual date, but not a romantic one. This is a good restaurant for married couples, business professionals, or people that want a higher end quick bite to eat for lunch hour. (Uploaded two pictures).

For a place that has excellent happy hour prices the regular menu is a little over-priced. I had the fish and chips($17.99) which were a little spicy but the fish was really light and flaky. My husband had the seared Ahi tuna ($28.99) and was not impressed, it didn't even look that great. Our server was excellent but tried to sell us the reward program. Yes, 'sell' - the card is $25.00 and then they send you a $25.00 gift card. If our dinner for two didn't cost us $90 I might be talked in to going back.

Oh where to begin. I ordered oysters. The waiter didn't know when they had arrived. They were so poorly opened every oyster was mangled and in pieces. The clam chowder was cold and watery. It didn't even taste like clam chowder. I couldn't put enough Tabasco in it to make it taste like something edible. My steel head was cooked perfectly though, very tasty. My friends steak was "medium" which apparently means bloody and still moving. The lobster tail that came with my brothers steak was maybe cooked for a total of 2 minutes, it was basically 75% raw and uncooked, very disappointing. The mashed potatoes were awful. They were hard as a rock and could easily be formed into a baseball and thrown if necessary. Overall, very disappointing. Not sure what is up with this place. The food is very simple, bot sure how you screw it up so poorly. Doubt i will be back, maybe for happy hour...though the white wine i had came room temperature, which the waiter calls "chilled". Just sub par all around. This place needs a lot of work.

I went here during happy hour last Friday. Happy hour and lunch are affordable... dinner is ridiculously expensive. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated. Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 3-6PM I think. To order from the menu you have to eat at the patio and order drinks. The prices are awesome during happy hour but the food is hit or miss. I ordered the quesadillas for like $2 and a strawberry tea for like $3.75. Tea was delicious but the quesadillas were greasy and salty. Service was ok while we were there. Not too impressed. I would like to go back and rate them on their lunch or dinner menu and see if they are worth a higher rating.

Maybe we hit it on a bad night, but ... We ate there last Friday night for our anniversary. Started at the bar. GREAT bar. Good, strong drinks expertly made. One star. We were seated and Jesse took care of us. Very good service. Star two. Things went downhill from there. My wife ordered the Sirloin steak (top sirloin I think). Ordered it medium well. It came rare. Sent back, no problem. Came back well and tough. I got the Palm Beach Mahi Mahi. Fish was overdone and dry. I couldn't use my fork to separate a piece of the fish from the whole. Crab hash underneath the fish was good, but I wish there was more. There was barely any sweet corn bisque on the plate. We ordered the red pepper white cheddar mashed potatoes sans red pepper. I was kind of stunned when we received a side order of mashed potatoes with finely shredded yellow and white cheddar cheese straight from a Sargento plastic bag sprinkled on it??? I should have sent everything back, but we ordered a few more drinks. We were going to order a dessert, but after the food we declined. We walked across to the Cheesecake Factory for cake.

Well here goes... My wife and I are new to the area and brand new to the Air Force so we've been taking advantage of Veterans day deals to get some good food and support local restaurants who support the Veterans. After initially planning on going to TGI Fridays for a date night we saw that McCormicks had a special for a free entree. I called and they said they didn't have any reservations but that we would be waiting about an hour once we got there to be seated, but I checked online and made a reservation through OpenTable. My wife and I got checked into the restaurant and waited another 15 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was very nice with a full bar area and a nice atmosphere for a date or a nice night out with family, perfect for our little date night! We had already seen the menu while we were waiting so we ordered right away, I ordered the Top Sirloin and my wife, the Salmon Rigatoni. Because it was busy we did wait a little while before our food came out but our waiter kept bringing out bread so that we weren't just sitting there. We ended up ordering two drinks also while waiting for the appetizer, my wife couldn't make up her mind and we were getting a free entree so we just got both! We ordered the blackberry press and the apricot spice martini. Shortly after, our waiter came back with two drinks and we continued talking and drinking our drinks. Not long after that the manager came to our table with another drink in hand informing us that they had accidentally sent out the wrong drink and we had received a raspberry mojito instead, so they brought out the true apricot spice martini for free, great! The drinks were absolutely delicious, with my favorite being the real apricot martini. Our appetizer, the Crab and Artichoke dip came out, and it was absolutely delicious! The dip was served with fresh softer pita chips, tomato, and cheese and it was great, I love a good artichoke dip and this definitely is on my list of great ones! While we finished up our appetizer the waiter came back to inform my wife that they had run out of the salmon rigatoni, so she ordered the lobster bisque instead. After our drinks, appetizer, and more supplementary bread to keep us happy while we waited some more, our food came. My top sirloin was just how I expected it to be when I order medium-rare: a warm pink center with no blood leaking out of it, awesome! The asparagus that came as a side were not seasoned it seemed but were still good and the mashed potatoes were also a bit bland and not that exciting... I'm not sure if this was just because it was free, but for a $25 entree I would have expected something more. While we were eating one of the waitresses came up with two more plates of food thinking they were ours... not sure if they had made a second order of our food, but we let them know and they took it back. So my wife and I finished and asked for the check... I opened the check and saw on the bill that my entree was not free but was instead 50% off... I flagged down our waiter and asked why and he said that it was because only retired military get the entree free and that active duty only get half off. So I asked to see a copy of the menu that was being distributed and nowhere on the menu did it say this. The manager ended up coming over and I discussed this with him and nowhere in the restaurant does it say this, nor did they tell me when I ordered or when they saw my active duty ID for the drinks... The manager ended up giving me the discount but it still makes me feel as though this was poorly executed, whether intentionally to draw in more business, or accidentally, but it definitely seemed like a bait-and-switch to me since the only reason my wife and I came here and bought the additional appetizer and drinks were because of the deal. I wish that this experience hadn't ended like this because I thought the food was good and I like supporting businesses that support our military, and I don't want to be the one that ruins this amazing thing they are doing for military members, past and present, but it just seems as though this was very poorly executed and it should be made clear. After getting home and looking up the website I was able to find in the fine print where it said that, however all information distributed through the base and in the restaurant did not make this clear... Maybe if they made it clearer they wouldn't have had so many people and fewer problems on their end...

I must be a glutton for punishment because I keep coming back to give this place one more chance. My Son and husband have birthdays within five days of each other so we chose to celebrate here. This was a Sunday at 6PM and the restaurant possibly had 20 people at the most dining when we arrived. From the moment I checked in (I had a reservation), there were issues. It appeared that two waiters were actually bickering over who would take our table........not a good sign. When we did get seated, we ordered drinks (which took an extraordinarily long time to arrive) and were promised bread (which NEVER did arrive). The two waiters that were debating who would serve us when we arrived both checked in on us so I asked about it and one of the waiters was very obviously upset and was rude to us once he found out the other waiter had taken our drink order. In retrospect, it might have taken two or more waiters to provide the type of customer service I am accustomed to in a fine (expensive) dining establishment. From this point on, the evening had many hiccups and I am sure I will forget some of them. My Son arrived about 10 minutes after my husband and I were seated and placed his cocktail order (we had to find our waiter even though we told him we were expecting another person). We placed our appetizer order (eventually) and meal order. Appetizers came out after a lengthy wait and were acceptable but not fabulous. My Son reminded the waiter he had still not received his cocktail. Meals were delivered - but still no bread and Son's cocktail MIA. We had to request the appetizer dishes be removed from the table............REALLY????? We finally flagged down a random waitress to ask about my Son's cocktail and our waiter showed up with it about 5 minutes later. My Son said it was watered down like it had been sitting at the bar awhile. The meals were substandard and not what I am accustomed to here....or I should say what I was accustomed to when this place first opened before Landry's took over. One of the nice things that I loved here before Landry's acquired this establishment was the special attention they gave for birthdays, special occasions, etc. Not now....no free dessert for your birthday. All they do is print a "Happy Birthday" sentiment on their menu and place at your table. As a "preferred" member with McCormick's, I also use to get amuse bouche for everyone at our table when we arrived. That is no longer a practice either. Simply put, there is no reason to come back here.....I am breaking up with you.....thanks for the memories but it is time to move on.

Usually, I do not care much for chains, but McCormick & Schmick's really impressed me. Their menu featured many different items that offered various sizes so you could eat as much or as little as you wanted and therefore spend as much or as little as you wanted. We went during dinner and took the kids which actually ending up being a great experience because they offer an awesome kid's menu. Although my kids are bit too young to enjoy grilled fish, they had items such as fish and chips and hamburgers. However, if they had wanted, the grilled fish would have been two dollars more, but well worth it. The kid's meal also comes with a nice little ice cream sundae at the end which my kids devoured and grudgingly let me sample; yes, the vanilla ice cream was yummy! My kids also enjoyed the complimentary sourdough bread and basically filled up on that before they even got to the main course. I enjoyed a small plate of crab cake with orange fennel and watercress salad and a small plate of the fried green tomatoes corn meal crusted with creole tomato glaze. I preferred the green tomatoes over the crab cakes, but I think that is because I am not much of a seafood lover. Both dishes were beautifully presented and flavourful. My husband ordered the blackened tilapia and seared lump crab cake combo served with butternut squash orzo and fresh vegetables. He loved all his food and there were no leftovers to speak of. I tried the butternut squash orzo and I wished I had ordered it as a side because it tasted just like something I could eat for an entire meal without getting tired of it. It was so creamy and scrumptious! When we arrived at the restaurant it was around 5:30 p.m. on January 1, so the restaurant was basically empty except for some kind of celebration in the banquet room. We had a nice view of the huge Christmas tree outside our window in the center of the Greene. Our server was very nice and she even found a packet of hot chocolate from a recent holiday party for our daughter who wanted hot chocolate since the server did not think our daughter would like the kind of hot chocolate the bartender could make. We had a wonderful evening and probably one of the best experiences dining in a nice restaurant with our kids; the best service with our kids that is. I hope this is not just a one time deal and that they continue such ettiquette!

I have been to the one in denver, Ac and others that were pretty good. This location was ok. Service was ok, nothing special and the server forgot to tell us the special which included the halibut which I like. I went through the list and ask for recommendations, not much feedback. I looked through their list of steaks and realized that they are choice, I was surprised because this place is considered high end but serves a steak you can buy at walmart. Not impressed with the food or service, next time I will walk across the street to flemmings and have a better meal for the same price range. Probably my last time here.

I ate at M&S in Cinci during summer 2010. I was blown away by how good the food was (as I am originally from the east coast). I moved to the area fairly recently. I have eaten at the Beavercreek location twice for late lunch. I have not been as impressed as I was during my first M&S experience. The food has been lackluster by comparison. I am not sure how to explain why this is the case except to blame it on time of day (which should not be an issue). My experience with the service has been excellent, though. The wait staff who have helped us have been knowledgeable and very friendly. From this standpoint, I find myself wanting to go back and (hopefully) be pleasantly surprised again by the food.

One of my favorite restaurants in town. Only gave it four stars due to the new lower price menu that I'm still getting used to. I miss the grilled rare tuna appetizer but it is now available as a main entre. My wife is not a big fish lover but thinks the steaks are excellent. Wine selection is very good.
