So why would I stop at restaurant that has less than a 2 star review? Let me explain. After riding 580 miles, on motorcycles, my dad, our close friend and I checked in to a hotel with two restaurants within walking distance. One of the restaurants was closed leaving K-Bobs. It was either this place of McDonald's. Now since the reviews were so low we went in with low expectations. Let me start this complement off be stating, our server Travis, knows what customer service means. I told him we were only in town one night and may never return, so recommend your best. The Porter house pork chop, the NY strip and chicken fried steak were his recommends. Two of us had the chop and my dad had the NY strip. Everything was surprising perfect! Definitely not 1 and a Half star food. Another employee, Shayna, ( I may have spelled that incorrectly) stopped by to check on us. She also demonstrated great deal of customer service. I think it's unfortunate that due to a confusing less than 2 stars, travelers passing through Clovis might pass this place up and in the end miss out on some really good food! Almost forgot, salad bar was damn good too. Why didn't I give 5 stars? Food may have been a little slow coming out. It was not cooked until we ordered. I'm not going to proof read of spell check, cause I'm tired. Forgive me.

I like eating at a bar, but the room smelled of bleach from the mop bucket that rested by the door, so I opted for the dining room where it took a while to be noticed and seated. I dont like butchering beef after it has been served, but I spent a couple minutes sawing the edges of this steak away. Still, there was connective tissue throughout the steak. Must be USDA grade Select or lower. Ugh. Great rolls, though. Something else:. I was billed twice for this meal, one the day of service for my in-person transaction and the other the next day for an Online, Mail or Telephone transaction. I have called and emailed them, but have had no response. It seems to take longer to remove something from a bill than it does to add it. I guess I need to call my bank.

First of all, don't go at lunch time. It takes a long while to get seated. Staff doesn't man the front or even glance up as they practically run through the dining room. I eventually asked the bartender (who looked annoyed when I asked) if we could seat our self. She said sit anywhere so we did. Your server will generally ignore you the entire time you're seated. They're busy with the back room where they often have 20 or so people from the base - especially on Friday afternoon. Staff routinely confuses sweet tea with unsweet tea (or just doesn't care to remember). I've been served the completely wrong side dishes more than once. Don't eat the green beans unless you like warmed and raw. The cream gravy is warm jello and can't even pass off as homemade. The steaks quality is decent and the salad wagon (bar) is hit or miss. They've brought back real bacon bits and whole, blackened green chile (thank you). The grill cooks need lessons on cooking meat during the lunch hour. The last time I went the chicken breast from the lunch meal is so dry I needed to drink my whole iced tea. When my husband went last month, I had to send my steak back because medium rare is not supposed to bathe in its own blood and saturate the entire plate when you slice into it. The waitress did ask me to check my steak, and when I wanted it to go back she seemed irritated that she had to bother. When it came back, it was well done and had no juice. I gave up and ate it because we'd already been there for an hour and I was starving. You get two stars because dinner service is better than lunch. It's like a whole different establishment. Steak is accually cooked to order (thank you night shift grill cooks).

Same as above as Greg, my tips total was also alter, DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. If you have to, pay cash for tips, and ZERO onto the tip section. UPDATE 10-3 Manager Laura made everything right, was very happy with how things went. The waitress currently don't work there anymore. Will visit the place soon. Ps I had this as one star before the update.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I've been there twice since they've opened and it's honestly terrible. First time was with a group of 8 and our appetizers came before the drinks, we didn't have silverware, our steaks were over cooked (ordered med-rare) received well done. The chicken fried chicken only had a small amount of gravy. My fiends fajitas did not come with the whole tortilla set up. Seriously it was the worst experience I've had. The only reason we went a second time was because they offered us a gift card for our horrible experience and that time was just as awful. Stay away from this place!

I ate here may twenty eighth.I really do not know what is going on I guess they dont get inspected ,my shoe stuck to the floor it was sticky. But the worst is I had The Salad Wagon.I was sick all the way home plus all nite I threw up I have never gotten sick from eating anything, this was serious. But the salad bar was half empty you could tell they had just brought out the salad left over from day before we were there as they had.. just opened .I swear my silver ware was rusty I requested another set.I wanted to leave when I saw that ,but my friends didnt want to leave. We asked the waitress if they were going to put any new salad she went to manager he said if we wanted something else she could bring us some from kitchen. Never again but please if you have children dont take them there as sick as I got a child would of been alot sicker .How sad these are our favorite restaurant. So Gross. But our waitress was so good.

After driving all day we were ready to grab a bite and call it a day. K-Bob's was open and near, so we went for it. We both ordered meals with baked potato as the side. When they arrived, we plunged our forks in, took a bite and....cold potato. Our server was not visible so we asked another for help. As she was taking them back, a young man with a tie came out of the kitchen. He glanced at her carrying food TO the kitchen, glanced at us, then disappeared. About 5 minutes later we got the potatoes back. Plunged the forks and.....lukewarm. When the server asked if everything was okay, we told her they were still nowhere near hot. We declined the offer to have them nuked, by now ready to get on with life. A few minutes later, the young man came by...no self-introduction, he led off with, "I understand you have a problem with the potatoes." We explained, only to be told, "That's not right, I plated those myself, they were hot." I respectfully disagreed, offered other terms like "tepid" and "lukewarm." He then offered to adjust the bill. When it arrived, he'd knocked off $6. And, helped to ensure that, whenever asked if we'd been to K-Bob's, we'd have a response at hand. Caveat emptor!

Can I rate less than one star? This is our second time dining there. The first experience last a couple hours though we wanted to be in and out quick, but we thought perhaps because it was its first week open the wait staff just needed to get used to the system. Despite that we came back 4 months later now and it's worse than before. Walk in an there's no hostess to seat us. After about 2 min she emerges from he kitchen and greets us from about 30 ft away like she wasn't so excited people were coming in only *2* hours from closing time. And Sure it's clean and the food isn't bad but when it takes 45 min for drinks or appetizers to be served when there are literally 5 tables taken in the whole place, ridiculous. Every time our waitress came by we were reminded of how she's "so busy tonight and there's only two of us on the floor". We aren't blind....looking around at an empty restaurant, don't tell us you're "so busy". What else? Waitress didn't know about drinks on the menu, didn't know if a promotion advertised on the tables was still going on, said we only got dinner rolls before dinner if they made any recently (I guess they didn't because none came), took 45 min from the time we ordered two beers to actually receive them and that's only because I finally walked up to the bar and grabbed the drinks which had been obviously sitting for some time because all the head had fizzled out, she didn't bring one order with a few special requests as ordered so probably just didn't tell the kitchen, and then had a hostess bring out our food which is fine but she just came up to the table with our food saying "here you go I don't know I'm just a hostess". This is all I can remember exactly but all other interactions were similar. Does management just teach the staff to apologize incompetence away or to make excuses if you happen to be requested to perform one task slightly outside your job description? It was so perfectly horrible this could have been a hit episode on some reality tv show. This is the first review I think I've ever written, not because I got physically ill or that I was grossed out, but because this placed is so poorly managed it oozes out from every aspect of the employee to customer interaction. Please don't go here. You will quite literally be taken care of better by the high school kids at mcdonalds. I would throw away a gift card if they tried to make amends because I don't even want an experience like ours if it's free. Cya k bobs

Let me start this off with how excited everyone in Clovis was that this place reopened after arsine taking the other K-Bob's life. I kid you not, I recently moved back to Clovis due to agriculture job opportunity for my husband, and every person I knew in Clovis beforehand were ESTASTIC about K-Bob's opening... And not anymore. Went to the bar area since I had to be to work rather quickly. The bartender Amy was absolutely rude, slow, and unknowledgable. I asked for a glass of champagne, saw they had my favorite New Mexico sparkling wine...and she blew most of it all over the floor...and charged me for the ENTIRE bottle. She continued to be rude on top of that. Food was terrible. I mean...terrible. I have heard from many people in Clovis how poor the food was from the "Chuck" wagon...but I didn't expect to be physically ill from the crab stuffed mushrooms. Best bet...stay the heck away from here. Seriously.

Service was awful! Waitresses kind of just passed us up, there were 4 in my area with maybe 3 tables seated by us. Food was delicious though. I enjoyed the steak and salad wagon.

K-Bob's glory days are gone. My family & I used to be regulars at the Clovis K-Bob's before an arsonist destroyed it. We were happy to see it finally reopen, but what an extreme disappointment. We have been three times & K-Bob's failed miserably each time. There might be some good servers amongst the wait staff, but each time, our servers were "slow"; they went to school on the short bus. I'm not saying that they are stupid to be mean, but it's like they totally don't have a clue. They're in the wrong business, they'd be better suited to be greeters at Walmart. I guess that they have problems in the kitchen too; extremely long waits (45 minutes) for the food. Strike 3 K-Bob's. We won't be back.

this place doesn't know a rare steak from well done and the manager thinks I'm wrong??!?!.... needless to say I won't come back.

Absolutely the worst steak house ever. I have given this place ample opportunity and find that the wait staff is always slow, never get the steak cooked right, salad bar is always low on food, never have enough hot rolls, in fact one time they brought me toast. Not ever going back and I suggest you stay away. Clovis has never had a decent steak house in all the 30 years I have lived in this area.

My husband loved eating at KBob's in his hone town many years ago. So he was excited to go again with us. We were not impressed. The hostess was no where to be found and the manager was seating people. We already had salads from the "one trip" salad bar and were waiting for our server to bring us our silverware...she finally came by after about 10 minutes. Once we ordered, our server only came to the table twice and she didn't bring us our food. The service at this location was not worth the price we paid or the excitement we wasted!!

So we were really glad K-Bobs has re-opened. K-Bobs has always has the best salad bar in town without question. Although the old K-Bobs required you to buy one of their terrible tough poorly flavored steaks to be able to eat at this awesome salad bar, the re-opened one does not. So we were excited, we don't always want a big heavy meal. The lettuce was brown around the edges with even some tinge of rotten. Had to dig around to get the fresh stuff...unbelievable. That was not good. The beets were one step away from being rancid...obviously not refrigerated at night? The salad bar was not as good as before! The soup was good, but pretty messy, not much into cleaning around things this new management, that's for sure. My friends steak was absolutely raw, blue at best. This was supposed to be medium rare. As a steak house "A Steak Should Be cooked to Order Properly!" The staff was fun and friendly and did get all the orders right! The drinks were good and the bar was fun, but the food side leaves a lot to be desired.
