They always get my orders mixed up. That is very bad, since I've got some serious allergies. The waiters and waitresses sit at the table when taking orders. They talk way too much, too. I go to restaurants to eat and be in the company of my guests. The restaurant is kept at a very cold temperature. If you're like me, bring a sweater. I give this Denny's two stars, because despite my bad experiences, my guests have enjoyed the food. If you've got special dietary needs, find another place to eat, like Pecos River Cafe.

This was my worst experience with any Denny's restaurant. We waited about 15 minutes for our server to come ask us for drinks. She came back and rudely placed them down, spilling my coffee. She didn't say anything about it and never wiped it up. We asked for lemons several times before she brought them back annoyed as if we were an inconvenience to her. We waited for our meals for an hour, and they only brought out 3/4 meals, and got one of those wrong. The server was clearly upset that we informed her that she got one of the meals wrong and she even asked "well do you just want to have this one instead.." so she wouldn't have to redo the order. So she took the meal back. In summary, the fourth meal and the meal we sent back never came, and neither did our server. After 20 more minutes, we just left. I would like to have imagined that this was an isolated incident with this one server, but the people sitting next to us were in the same boat and hadn't received any meals having arrived only a few minutes after us. One of my worst experiences in recent memory, and I would have given a zero star if at a possible.

This is the worst Denny's I have ever been to. we came in as a group of six. a group of eight came in after us and was seated before us. when we asked what was going on they said they couldn't see our name anymore because all the names around it was scratched off. then our order came out or should I say half of it did and they said they'd be back with the rest in a minute. the rest came out but it wasn't what we ordered. so then she comes back again with some food that was close enough so we just took it. finally the ticket get there and is all messed up. I love Deniz and go there in every town we are in but I would never go back to this one and don't recommend anyone else go there either. I wish I had read the reviews here before going but I just figured it was another Denny's, that was a mistake I will give it the one star because I have to and because the food was typical Denny's food so at least it didn't taste bad but my daughter did have to send back her burned bacon

I really like this Denny's. However, the hostess (manager) never cracks a smile and just expects you to follow her to a table...Brenda the busgirl is the hardest worker in that place. She is 70 years old and runs circles around everyone. This particular Sun morning the joint is half empty and the waiting area is completely full because no one is seating them. The young man waiting tables is twirling his thumbs because he has one table. Leadership is seriously lacking here. Why are the two oldest women in this place the fastest and hardest workers??.. Really.. Whats wrong with this picture? Anyways, Im still giving them a good rating because its clean, good prices and good consistent food. Plus Brenda and older waitress lady are awesome! I will be back every month on my business trips.

Service was very good, food was below average compare to Denny's in Los Angeles. I order Salmon and came about the size of 5 oz, not much veggie, two small pieces of bread , I will not repeat

Between the dirty silverware, the rude, complaining server, the disgustingly dirty coffee cups and pitiful excuse of a sundae my fiance received, I really wish we had never went.

This Denny's is horrible. My friend and I arrived on a Sunday afternoon at about 3:00 pm. It was not crowded but the floor was dirty and tables unbussed. Service was slow. Food was mediocre. They didn't seem to want our business so we will oblige them and not return.

The problem is there's only like two restaurants open on Sunday morning in Carlsbad (unless you want fast food). We entered & stood at the counter waiting to be seated for quite awhile, even though there were three staff standing at the counter! The restaurant is dirty and dated. We should have turned right around, but we stuck it out. The waitress took our drink orders and brought out our drinks....in dirty glasses! I ordered egg whites with spinach & fresh fruit. I got runny egg whites, sans spinach, and a bowl of grapes. The food is sub-par and the service leaves much to be desired! Good luck!

I don't even know where to begin, the waiter was rude and he gave me cold coffee with out any creamer. Then he was standing in the corner, texting. When my order was ready, it sat there because the waiter wasn't Any where to be seen. Another person brought me my food and it was so cold I just left. I used to love this place, but I never want to eat here again.

Disgusting!! Under cooked chicken, bread like a brick, bathrooms that smelled like a sewer and to top it all off the staff fighting in the back.

Stopped here for breakfast before going to the caverns. Our orders were wrong, service was slow even though it was staffed with servers and hardly any customers. We had to get up and get our own silverware. Never got refills on coffee, our food was delivered cold, cold eggs are disgusting. While we were eating breakfast they had customers leaving because they hadn't received any service. Worst Denny's ever, go to iHop, heck, even McDonalds would be better.

If I could give this place a zero, I would. Bad waitress, bad cook, bad manager and bad seating!!!! Never EVER dine in this place...........

We just had the worst experience EVER! I don't even know where to begin. When we first walked in the lady at the counter ignored us. Then once we sat down we waited about 10 minutes before anyone came to get our drink orders. It then took about 10 more minutes for the to bring a cup of coffee and watered OJ. Yes, watered OJ. We sent that back twice. Other patrons were also sending their "OJ" back. We still don't know who our actual waitress was. Supplies (ketchup and sugar packets) at the tables, ours and others, were out. No one ever came around to check on us or ask how the food was. My husband had to flag down a random waitress to get a refill of coffee. The so-called manager was very loud and barking orders to the waitresses. You could tell other patrons waiting to be seated, already seated, and waiting to pay were also disgusted. The ONLY good I can say about this place is that the food was good and the portions were large. I am glad I will never have to endure that again.

Never have I ever had a good experince at this place. Sadly living in Carlsbad, you only have so many options on where you eat-especailly on sundays. :/ Where do I start... I have never wanted to cry over my "dinner" as often as i have at this place- let me only review last weeks. 1st- no one ever greeted us- we sat ourselves. when no one ever came to the table we called in our orders. and asked them to deliver it to the table with the 4 people sitting starving by the wondow. at this moment a aitress came to take our order (Apparently this is how you get their attention). After this we ordered soup bc soup is fast and premade and again we were starving. I ordered a water. we had 2 diet cokes and a tea at the table (See how I remembered this? -well apparently it was too difficult for our "server" b/c we got 2 waters and 1 coke.... after we gave her the simple bev test and got our drinks she took our orders. 32 minutes later our cold soup came out. We sent it back and asked for warm soup with our meals... we finally walked out after 1 hour and 12 minutes after i had refilled my own water twice and we saw another table leave so we decided sonic would be a better waste of our night. God I pray I will not be back- but as i said we have such a wide selection... I dont recommend this to anyone... except the bitch that works at U-1st credit union bank...
