Truly amazing coffee and staff. I have appreciated becoming a regular! I have enjoyed every cup of coffee I have ordered.

Not terrible, not great. The lady taking orders was really nice and she gave my niece some stickers, so that made her really happy. Wont be in a rush to go back.

It had me at the name- Bad Ass Coffee & Cafe. I had to go check it out. Turns out, Bad Ass is a Donkey. "Surf's up Moon Doggie, grab Gidget and the boards," was my first thought while walking into this Hawaiian themed coffee shop. Everything is Hawaiian, the coffee, the snacks, the décor, and the laid back attitude. Just like I like it. No rush...no hurry...enjoy the service. I'm no coffee snob; I love the smell and flavor of a dark roast house blend. Don't add half the ingredients from a Baskin Robbins display case then top with whipped cream and slowly watch my muffin top expand. How will I fit into my board shorts? So, if you have time to relax, pull up a chair next to a faux palm tree and fill your lungs with the aroma of Kona Blend Coffee and daydream about your next session of 3 - 5 foot curls, this is the place... Or, just to allow traffic to diminish before you get back to your barista job at Starbucks.

This coffee shop has been one I have frequented for years and I will never be going back. I've had a couple of things that went wrong in the past at this establishment, but I never complained. The other day my drink order was terribly bitter, to the point that for the first time I picked up the phone and called Badass; the owner answered, not only did he not care, he was incredibly rude and insinuated that I didn't know what coffee tastes like. Not a good way to treat people who frequent your business and refer co-workers in the area to do the same. I've let those same co-workers know of the poor treatment and they're already sauntering in with their Starbucks cups, so much for supporting "local," thanks to your horrible customer service skills.

We went out of our travel route, excited to stop in and support a community coffee shop with an Entertainment book coupon, which they no longer honor- and found the counter person the least welcoming- she stared at me as I studied the menu- first time in so it was overwhelming- plus I had two kids with me- she barely said a cheerful word- I felt like I was an inconvenience! There were No other customers in the cafe! Please, customer service is the #1 deciding factor whether or not I will return- did not like her vibe, ordered a plain iced coffee as to not "trouble her." They should put as much effort into customer care as they did the Hawaiian decor- I did notice there was a help wanted sign as I was leaving - let's hope it was her last day.

I just have to love this place, for several reasons. First off, and most importantly, their coffee is good. Not the over roasted garbage served at other locations. Smooth Kona coffee! Yum! Second, good coffee drinks with lots of cool flavor combinations. And they can make almost all of them sugar free and skim! Third, their food is definitely a step up from the standard coffee shop fare. Sure, they have bagels and muffins and such, but they also serve sandwiches and a number of other things. Lastly, they have a great Hawaiian theme and decor. Cool.

Excellent coffee and the service is top shelf. Wife and I have had their coffee on several occasions and every time the experience is great. We love bad ass coffee.

This place is so good! Had an iced Lava Java and an Albuquerque Turkey sandwich. Wow! I'm hooked!

If you are searching for decent coffee and you are like me don't go here. I am a coffee perfectionist. It's places like this that I try to give a chance and end up wasting my money. I know it's hard to find a place that can make a decent espresso but the amount of money I wasted doesn't make me feel bad for contributing to the global empire that is Starcrooks. At least you know what you're getting there. I had my own mug and the price for a latte was well over $4. That's four dollars down the toilet. I had to dump most of it out. Thanks Obama Latte: No stars. The espresso and milk were burnt and not palatable Price: 1 Star. $4.35 for a latte I could barley drink.

My family and I have been going to this coffee shop for 3 1/2 years choosing to go here instead of Starbucks or big franchise stores. It was recently sold and or under new management and I am not pleased with them at all. They no longer honor coupons even those that are in the coupon books expiring 12/31/14. I do not know if they will honor my gift card but I intend to find out today. Sad to say once it has run out I am going to look for a different coffee shop that can treat its patrons better especially those that had chosen to support them in their community.

After a long day on the road heading to Albuquerque, my dad and I stopped here for a late afternoon caffeine fix. Admittedly, we were drawn in purely by the name, but the coffee was delicious and the employees were friendly. They had a large selection of bagged coffee, souvenirs, etc. Would definitely go here more often if I lived near Bernalillo!

I passed up Starbucks for Bad Ass Coffee only because I was pressed for time and there wasn't a line. We ordered the Snickers Expresso, which my wife loved. I ordered a large house coffee, dark roast. The coffee was very bold and had a taste that was almost "burnt". Prices were reasonable and service was great, although they were a little bit on the slow side. The drive through isn't very forgiving for longer vehicles and the location is a little tough to get back on the road.

Full disclosure: I'm a coffee snob. I have extremely high expectations for a good cup of Joe, and unfortunately they did not meet expectations. DRIVE-THRU: I can understand why it's difficult to compete with QSR's when it comes to coffee, but usually avoid going here in the mornings because of the lack of speed. I can sometimes sit in the drive-thru for 10-15 minutes, and with the time it takes me to go to Starbucks (I live past the U.S. 550 and 528 intersection), it would be faster for me to grab coffee there. KONA: I was able to purchase a bag of Kona coffee, after my SO begged for it. He tried a cup, and there was no full flavor or boldness to the coffee. I tried a cup from their brew, and it didn't have a full flavor as I expected. INSIDE SERVICE: Everyone is really nice and friendly, but you can tell that speed isn't usually a priority. Luckily they're easy to talk to, which helps when you're waking up in the morning... Best of luck to this local business!

Badass is conveniently located off 550 across from Santa Ana Casino. Their coffee is Hawaiian their bread is Hawaiian and is most delicious. This is a quiet and relaxing spot with wifi. It is my fav coffee-cafe stop. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

First red flag was when the girl behind the counter told the barista I'd ordered a single shot of expresso. Second red flag was the "barista" repeating the mispronounciation. Third red flag: my single shot of "expresso" is room temperature (not freshly pulled). I asked for, and was made, a second (fresh) shot. This one was unremarkable. Neither great nor terrible. Not sure about here in Bernalillo, but there is way better coffee in Rio Rancho and Albuquerque proper.

I never spend time in Berna, and if I am it's for one reason only, tires. Luckily, Bad Ass coffee is conveniently located in the same parking lot as my favorite tire store, so I can easily walk across the street and drown my sorrows with a cup of coffee with my pup at my side. Now, if you're like me, spending any amount of money on a car makes you angry. What do you mean I have to put new tires on this son of a b? So, obviously I'm in the mood for some cheering up when I go here, and cheer me up they do! Firstly, they put cubes of iced coffee in your iced coffee instead of ice cubes. Why? So you don't get a watered down coffee, instead all of you get is pure, pure, pure sweet nectar of the gods. That's like getting extra coffee compared to some other coffee shops, and I love free stuff! This place also has some seriously bad ass customer service. They are so nice, so sweet, so helpful, and I almost feel loved by them when I come in. They'll talk to me and give me recommendations and I can't really get a better deal than that! I have never tried their nom's, but most of em look pretty delicious! Although it is a chain, it seems to really have a lot of local flavor and flair which I love! So, hats off to you Bad Ass Coffee!

This place has tasty coffee and sandwiches, which I always expect to wait for. I've had an extremely rude older lady that seemed to be a manager tell me that they no longer served an item that used to be on their menu in a not so nice or apologetic tone. I go to Starbucks when I'm in a hurry and save this place for weekends when I am not in a hurry. Also the service itself is hit or miss.

Poor customer service: I ordered an Italian Soda and a bagel and cream cheese. The initial counter help was friendly and the soda was tasty. My bagel arrived with hardly any cream cheese on it, so I asked for some more cream cheese at the counter. A different lady (manager?) got me the cream cheese and told me that it would be fifty cents. No big deal, but I didn't want to put less than a dollar on my card. I commented on how little cream cheese was on the bagel and the lady snapped that she "knows how much was on there". She apparently thought that I was upset at paying extra for it, but I was ruffle by how rude she was. We ate our snacks and I stewed. On the way out I approached her again (with the bagel that I didn't eat) thinking that maybe it was a misunderstanding and hoping for a different response. She was still yelling at me about how rude I am and that "everybody charges extra" as I walked out the door. Wow.

This place has a great drink selection and superb service! I like their blended drinks, which are so flavorful! They use iced coffee cubes instead of watering down your drink with h2o ice. Totally worth paying the extra dollar for a drink rather than going to buckstars. I would rather support a local chain. They have fun Hawaiian decor to go along with their kona coffees and a truly bad-ass mural on their westward facing outside wall. When I'm driving through Bern I try to stop here every time!

Name describes it all. I go to a lot of local coffee shops, and when a friend recommended this space, decided to go on the way to work one morning. Although, bit out of the way for most non commuters this spot brings its A game when it comes to a morning coffee stop! I couldn't put my drink down! Try it!

My husband and I stopped here for coffee on the way home from doing errands. we didn't quite know what to get because we're new to town, so we both had large iced coffee with cream and sugar. they're pretty good standard coffee I think, tasty, the most amazing part however was the frozen coffee ice cubes, so that when your ice melts your drink does not get diluted. that alone totally made up for the slightly long wait at the drive thru window. next time we're in the area and I bet we'll go there again

Been a few times, only for coffee tho........ pretty neat little place decorated in a hawaiian/cali theme......... Snickerlicious ( some caramel coffee ) was good........ Have a couch and a flat screen tv to watch ( not into TV, just cant take coffee on the bike ) Also a big hit since it is not Starcrooks or Flying Barf...........

Get out of the "Seattle" coffee rut and give Hawaiian coffee a try. What a pleasant change of pace. You have to try the Big Kahuna Chicken sandwich. I will guarantee it is 10 times better than any sandwich from other coffee shops! The staff is friendly and really want to serve you. They are easy to find and easy access from the Interstate. A refreshing stop for breakfast or lunch. Plus they treat bikers right.

It's been a while since we moved away, but my wife and I loved Bad Ass. Great Staff. Great food for a coffee house. Wonderful idea having coffee ice cubes. Need more places with those. I would definitely go back to Bad Ass rather than Sbux any day.

Excellent cheesecake! It is the best I've ever had. The ooey-gooey center is what really makes it! Coffee is Kona, so it's strong, which is the way I like it. I got an iced coffee and the ice looked like frozen coffee. Nice! But order extra ice. Don't go in a hurry. Service is slightly slow and although the location looks convenient, it really isn't. Pulling back out on the road is tricky.

2 of the 3 times I've been there the coffee tasted burnt. Pastries were flavorful, but if you ask them to be heated, they come to you very hot and dried out.
