Our server was fun, conversational and informative without being too chatty. The "honor system" house wine was something new to both of us. Not a bad sales tool - put a pitcher of wine in front of customers and offer them a sample? It got US to buy a few glasses! The meals came with side salads and bread. The rosemary rolls and REAL butter were warm, aromatic heaven. The salads were larger than I expected and the house vinaigrette was flavorful and refreshing. I ordered "The Hill," which I thought was a sampler, with small portions of each. Not the case. It was a "hill of linguine, cheese tortellini and mostaccioli, covered in a red sauce and topped with two huge meatballs and an Italian sausage. I really should have asked about the size, but no matter. One meal and leftovers for 2-3 days for $15 is not bad at all :) My dining companion ordered the Penne Manzo (what I will be having next time we visit!) This dish is comprised of beef tenderloin sautéed with peppers, mushrooms, red onions and tomatoes over penne with a marsala sauce. He ordered his without the peppers (heartburn :( ) but I'm sure it's just as great with them! Needless to say, there was ZERO room for dessert, but we're planning on visiting to sample the wine and dessert menus very soon!

Greetings all, Solid Italian restaurant with 5 stars for the chicken (best chicken I have ever tasted). We started off with the trio for an appetizer---it comes with lasagna, fettuccini alfredo and chicken parm. The other two were good---but the chicken parm was amazing--best I ever had. Then I had another chicken dish and it was yet again amazing. The only reason I'm not giving this Ristorante five stars is that the pasta was a bit overdone when I asked for it al dente and the lasagna was not super hot despite its good taste---but outside of these two minor issues I'd say this place is awesome---and we plan to be going back!!! PS---server we had was Brian M. I spike him out because he did not rush us and was attentive without being obtrusive----perfect service. Cheers

We had pretty good service here recently. It took our server a little longer than expected to greet us, but she was quite attentive during the rest of our visit. the Cheesy garlic bread was delicious but they offered to bring out fresh bread after we had eaten our garlic bread...we wouldn't have ordered garlic bread If we would have known there was complimentary bread, I ordered the chicken Alfredo pizza and it was ok, the crust was very thin as per the menu, it was about the thickness of a tortilla shell. Would have preferred if it was a little thicker. The cheese was also a little burnt. My wife had the chicken Parmesan and she thought it was delicious. Drink selection is mostly wine focused being an Italian restaurant.

I stopped in for a late lunch on a Monday in July. I was actually surprised they were open. I glanced over and saw cars in their parking lot and so decided to take a closer look. Sure enough, the "Open" sign was lit. This place has been on my list of restaurants to try for quite some time. I just didn't think with it being a Monday (so many private restaurants are closed on Mondays), it being in West O (there's not much of a weekday lunch crowd west of 156th), and it being a full service Italian restaurant (notorious for serving dinner only) that it would be open. I'm glad it was as I finally got to try it. I walked in and there was no one at the host stand. There were also no visible employees anywhere to notice me standing there. After a couple of minutes one of the managers appears from the back and seated me. He was nice enough and I requested a booth and he happily complied. The host also took my drink order and brought me an iced tea. I then proceeded to sit there for about 10 minutes before my waitress finally appeared. She didn't even apologize for the wait. The iced tea I had to keep me company during my wait tasted off. Hard to say why. I'm not sure if it was burnt somehow or perhaps whatever device they use for brewing it needs a thorough cleaning. I've tasted that exact same off taste at other restaurants. It's usually not a consistent problem and is just an off batch, but it can be quite unpleasant when you take a big gulp of what you're hoping is refreshing fresh brewed iced tea. A refill later on tasted fine. I ordered the Salsiccia & Peppers (spicy Italian sausage link with roasted peppers and onions, tossed in marinara, and served over spaghetti). It was good. The sausage was good and not terribly spicy. The roasted peppers were a mixture of red and green bell peppers. I don't care for the green. Their color dulls when they're cooked and then they look unappetizing in food. They should just go with all red. The sauce did taste a little flat, but if you manage to get a bite of the sausage in every mouthful you hardly notice. The spaghetti seemed a bit dry. I would imagine that's because they were holding it poorly in the back. My entrée came with a choice of soup or salad. The soup was Tomato Basil. I opted for a Caesar Salad (small up-charge). The salad was okay. Overall, a pretty average Caesar salad. They also serve complimentary bread rolls with butter. They were good, but typical of brown-n-serve rolls purchased from a wholesaler. There's no baking happening here. I was pleased they didn't offer me some olive oil and herb concoction. That has gotten to be quite gimmicky at Italian restaurants. There was only one wait person working the entire restaurant. She had 6 tables when I got there and each table had 3 to 6 customers. You'd think the manager would come out of the back to help wait tables and to make sure the customers were getting the level of service they expected. Apparently not. Overall, an okay restaurant. The food is nothing spectacular, but it's not bad either. Service could be improved. I might stop back to try something else, but I am in no hurry to do so.

Our food took over two hours to come out. They forgot mine and told me it would only take a few minutes, I sat through dinner while everyone are and had to get my food to go. The manager brought it out and didn't even look at me while she said "sorry about the wait, would you like any to go boxes?" Not sincere or apologetic for the fact that I didn't even get to eat dinner with my party. Called and talked to the manager (Katie) and all she had to say was "well it would have been the perfect time to say something when your good came out" First, I shouldn't have to say anything, clearly any reasonable person would have been upset and it's your job as a manager to address that. second, most people don't want to complain in front of their large dinner group. They need to work on their customer service. Update: Was promised by manager after I called that they would send something out (because she didn't want to deal with me not because she was sorry.) and we asked that the owners give us a call so we could explain the situation and our frustrations. We never received a call or any compensation for the experience. Not sure if Katie never spoke with the owners or if the owners just decided that we aren't worth it as customers. Either way, I wouldn't support a business that the managers or owners do not value customers. Very disappointing. Used to love Vincenzo's when they were at a different location. Things are going downhill fast.

We were here on a Sunday at 5:00 pm, it wasn't crowded so we were seated immediately. For an appetizer we ordered Melanzane. It was delicious. The sauce was superb. Two of us ordered the house salad with blue cheese crumbles and anchovies. The salad was very fresh and flavorful. The other two in our party ordered Cesear salad and said they were fine. I ordered Tutto Mare. The white sauce was kind of bland and there wasn't much seafood in it. My husband got the Chicken Soto. He said the chicken was very tender but the sauce was average. The other two in our party ordered the lasagna Bolognes. They both thought it was good. All of our meals were served hot. The restaurant was full when we left, so 5:00 was a good time to go.

Went to Vincenzo's for the first time the other night, and it was a great experience! I started with a glass of their house chianti (which was smooth and delicious), and curiously they left the carafe at the table the entire meal. The hostess did mention something about wine being on the 'honor' system and at the end of the meal, our waiter mentioned he charged us for one glass only... Which is good because that's all I had. Seemingly they trust you to just let them know how many you have? I failed to ask for details. For the meal I ordered the manicotti, which was delicious. Some of the best restaurant manicotti I've had, in fact. Essentially a pool of cheese an sauce, which is what I look for. My wife ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which she also said were very good. For dessert I got the creme brulee and my wife got the turtle cheesecake (they have a 'cheesecake of the day' option). I have to mention I'm something of a creme brulee fanatic, and it was delicious. Did not disappoint. I wouldn't put it on the same level as Bravo's, but it was very good nonetheless (and was a bigger portion than Bravo's). Our waiter was a nice older gentleman who made us feel right at home. He also appeared to be the waiter for the entire restaurant at the time (this was a weeknight so it wasn't jammed, but I saw him go around to every table around us), and he kept up very well. I was impressed. Overall, very good Italian food for a very reasonable price. I'll be coming back!

This was my first stop and last. The service was great. But the food was okay. I have rather go to Carrabas. The food has a very simple taste no flavor at all. The bread was cold. I wouldn't go back.

Great for large groups. They have two private rooms, main dining area, bar area and patio. The food and service was average for above average prices. They use a lot of shredded mozzarella on almost all the dishes. The cheese-garlic bread was moist and fluffy. They have a good selection of wines. I would only return for a business function or around this part of town and hungry for westernized Italian food.

Never disappointed here. Friendly atmosphere, consistently good food. The crab stuffed salmon is amazing, the sautéed veggies were the perfect compliment to it!

Great experience! We dined outdoors as it was a beautiful evening. Started off with the bruschetta. Love the bruschetta! The provel cheese is creamy and the slices of roma tomatoes brought it all together. The waitress was very accommodating. I ordered the gorgonzola/mushroom filet, without the cracked black pepper, and it was delish. It came with baby red potatoes and sautéed veggies, both of which were very good. I opted for the cream of mushroom soup instead of a salad, and wasn't disappointed. Had plenty for 2 meals! One of my dining partners ordered the salmon, which she said she loved. My other dining partner was on a very strict diet, and basically customized her order which the waitress eagerly accommodated. We were the only ones dining outside, and still the service was perfect. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and I without doubt will be back.

right up the street from the new place..since I've been back in Omaha I've been craving toasted ravioli and its Sunday and Sunday was always dinner out. Vincenzo's is excellent in all ways, beautiful restaurant friendly attentive staff, delicious food, huge portions. cheesy garlic bread that is beyond delicious, toasted ravioli and marinara delish! the best tomato basil soup I've ever had along with a large portion of the best lasagna I also have ever had. halving it I had enough for dinner tomorrow and for dessert ( just cause) Thank you for finally making cannoli shells correctly! the filling was also perfect. and some spumoni. of course.. the place gives you a warm welcoming vibe and left me wanting to come back especially to try other things on the menu. they passed my lasagna test..

We visited for a Birthday dinner. The food was good, sad to say the service was horrendous. We were rushed through our dinner by the server. Several servers stopped by to offer "to go" boxes.....think they wanted us to leave ? We did !! An older male employee came over reached all the way across the table and took the candle off it....again think he was trying to tell us something ??? We were promised a free Birthday dessert which did not come without several prompts. Glasses were not filled, food was slow etc, etc. I emailed directly to the manager and received no response. Lastly I was really curious about the jugs of wine they bring to the table.,,,do they throw the remaining contents away after a table has sampled it (doubtful) or is it recycled to a new table ? I am not interested in sampling others spit..,,you ? I hope the chef finds better employment as the food is the best part of this establishment. Can I give it a 1/3 of a star ??? What an expensive disappointment !!!!!

Good italian food for a reasonable price. As soon as we sat down, we were offered a pitcher of wine. That was a big plus (LOL). We had the spinach bruschetta as an appetizer and it was very good. I liked how every meal came with either soup or salad, though my salad was a bit lacking. I ordered the "famous" chicken item over angel hair. It was good, but not great. Overall, I was satisfied with the meal and the wine. I would go back if ever in Omaha again.

One of the best locally owned Italian restaurants in the area. Started with ravioli. They're giant, crispy, full of meat, and the pasta is firm - not mushy. Marinara is very good too. House salads were fresh and colorful. Nice light tasting house dressing. Fresh warm rolls are great. I had the Veal Franco which is outstanding. Very rich meal. But irresistible to stop eating. Partner had Chicken Soto which was prepared perfectly. Other partner had Shrimp Scampi which was two giant prawns on a bed of angel hair. Very unconventional dish. Not what we were expecting. Too much garlic. Is there such a thing as too much garlic. In this case...yes. Service was outstanding. Wait staff works well together is extremely customer centric. Only minor knock on the waiter was she wasn't sure of choices for soup. Overall good experience. This was one of many trips to Vicenzos and will be one of many more to come.

First time customers at Vincenzo's and while it was good, there are a few things they could do to make it better. We made reservations, so I was surprised when they sat us at a table right near the kitchen and the whole restaurant was cold. The cheese bread was good, but would have been better if the bread was laid out as a slab and smothered with garlic and cheese rather than putting it together like a sandwich, but it was still tasty. The calamari sauce, soup and salad were mediocre. The soup was far too salty and the salad dressings and sauce were nothing to get excited about. Where this restaurant shines is their main dishes and the wait staff. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. We had Salmon Picatta, Penne Diavolo and Shrimp Imbottito along with a kid's spaghetti and kid pizza. The three main dishes we had were fabulous. The kid pizza crust was too thin for our son, but the sauce, cheese and pepperoni were great. While there were some issues with Vincenzo's, those three main dishes make it worthwhile to try again.

When the waiter states that he thinks they have some leftover soup when suggesting items, you have to second guess why you came here. Leftover soup, really? We started off with the escargot - weird - it was a creamy base, kind of like an alfredo sauce, not the buttery garlic I had expected. For dinner I ordered the Shrimp Scampi - And Returned the Shrimp scampi. The shrimp was way over cooked and instead of the pasta and shrimp being cooked in a white wine, garlic, lemon-butter sauce, the shrimp came out with a spoon full of garlic laying on top of them. Imagine biting into nothing but garlic. Pasta was try and tasted like buttered noodles. Neither were sautéed in the sauce, just a very small portion of sauce may of been poured over the pasta. when I mentioned this to the waiter he brought a completely different sauce over that looked like alfredo. Realizing that I was paying $17.95 for a dish that I was going to have to remake myself, I told him to take it all back that I didn't want it. The vegetables that came with the meal were all shriveled up and looked like they were leftover from the night before.

Had a ladies dinner there last month in the party room. Great food and service for over 20. Very accommodating & gave separate checks too. Patti the manager is great! My husband and I just ate there Wed. night and great again. Bill the owner works it like a Manager/owner should. Friendly neighborhood small business owners.

Our waitress was attentive, and my cup never ran dry. For the appetizer, we ordered SHRIMPCARGOT. SHRIMPCARGOT is shrimp baked in a garlic butterine topped with melted Provel cheese. For dinner I ordered the BISTRO STEAK. The steak is a house marinated 10 oz Hanger steak. It was slightly better than average. My wife ordered PENNE MANZO beef tenderloin sautéed with peppers, mushrooms, red onions and tomatoes tossed with penne pasta in a marsala wine sauce. IT WAS FREAKING FANTASTIC! Next visit, that is the dish I'm ordering for myself. They serve a wide-array of Vodka drinks. All-in-all, very satisfied!

We love Vincenzo's in Lincoln so decided to try the one in Omaha on a whim. For prime dining hours on a Saturday night we were seated very quickly and accomodated very well for having two kids and four adults. Our server was extremely polite and talkative but not overly chatting--he even made us laugh a few times. The owner even stopped by our table and gave our 1 year old a Vincenzo's bib to keep. The salad was fresh, no wilted lettuce and they did not use iceburg (a bonus). Complementary bread rolls with butter but we didnt know that till after we ordered garlic cheese rolls (which was delicious). My husband ordered a trio sample which he couldn't finish amd said was excellent and I had the baked roman twins which was a good serving. My 5 year old enjoyed the cheese lasana. The desserts were amazing! The tiramasu is the best I have had in a long time! Overall, great atmosphere, family friendly, delicous food, we will definitely be back.

I visited this restaurant about a month ago. I had been to two of their previous locations, and had not been impressed. In fact, when plans were made to go to this location for the first time, I was not too eager. When I arrived there, I found that the restaurant was staffed by friendly people, that it was clean, and that the atmosphere was very pleasant. For my meal, I had one of the pizzas, which was good enough that I would order it again. However, the toasted ravioli were simply excellent. They were so good that I have found myself wondering when I will be driving across town again to go and eat at this restaurant. I look forward to the next time.

The food took FOREVER to come out. Easily 40 minutes of waiting in a Sunday afternoon with not even half the restaurant full. I ordered the chicken soto which was good--but the angel hair pasta and veggies it came with were barely warm. Had it not been for the forty minute wait and the fact that we didn't see a waiter for 10 minutes following our food arriving I would have sent them back.

Enjoyed a superbly prepared Salmon dish. We liked the music at right volume so we could visit. Service was great! Loved the vintage photos on the walls like we were surrounded by loved ones. Love this place!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
