We love to eat at Johnny's and have never had a "bad" experience. The last time we went we made reservations but arrived about 30 minutes early. We were still seated immediately in a nice secluded type of booth. We ordered from the bar and and got an appetizer of calamari which was very tasty and a larger portion than we had expected. We love the Chanel No. 5 and so we both ordered that. It was wonderful as always. The one thing that was a little bothersome was that the waitress kept trying to take our plates away while we still had food. Then threw our bread out instead of packing it with our leftovers. With all that being said, I can come to the conclusion that Johnny's is just wonderful!

Cleanliness 4 Service 3 Food 4 Likelihood 4 Environmentally Friendly 3 OVERALL SCORE 3.6 We joined some friends for dinner, our first time there. It is a nicely appointed space, clean restrooms (thank you.) Host staff greeted us quickly. Server was very nice, not attentive, my beverages (iced tea and water) BOTH went empty 2 times and clearing dirty dishes was not a priority. He seemed overwhelmed with the number of tables he had. I saw no management or "lead" person checking the floor. I think it is a very overpriced for the quality of service and food. It is good food, there is much better food in this city for a much lower cost.

Granted, it was the day before Valentine's day, but made reservation for an early dinner. They didn't have our reservation when we arrived, but we were still promptly seated. I had to laugh at the six teenage girls that were all gathered behind the hostess desk with blank looks on their faces. It took a while before our server came to introduce herself, but took longer before we ever got our drink order or even water at the table. We had to laugh at the ridiculous music that was blaring overhead. We were seated in a more secluded part of the restaurant and were amazed at how many empty tables there were for the next two hours even though they said they were all booked. The bread that they brought was excellent! We ordered fried zucchini as an appetizer, which did come right away and was very hot and had a tasty dipping sauce. They were glistening from the oil they were cooked in, however maybe they could have drained it a little better? The salad greens were very fresh although a bit on the light side. Both of us had very tasty salad dressings. The cup of French onion soup wasn't the best nor the worst I've had - it was okay. It did come piping hot however. We both had the petite filet cooked medium well. This is where I get picky. The chef really needs to do a better job of bringing the same cuts when two of the same steak is ordered. One piece was very thick and cooked more of a medium and the other was a lesser quality piece that was thinner cut and cooked well done. The broccoli was very fresh, plentiful and cooked perfectly! Not too bad of a meal. Unfortunately, our server was scarce. The atmosphere was pleasant. You have to remember this is a chain. For just over $100 for two people, I expected more.

Great food and great service. We usually go on dates here because of the Sinatra setting.

Very good food, service was acceptable. Have not had a bad meal or service. Last visit we were stuck next to the kitchen door which was annoying but will give them a pass for now. The sunday brunch is also good.

Johnny's is a great restaurant for a first date....if you just got paid. The place is classy but not overly snobbish or anything the prices are on the high side but not terribly much more than what you would expect to pay for a good steak. If your lucky enough to catch the surf n turf on special you will get an excellent Ribeye with some of the biggest tastiest shrimp you can find in Omaha.

Good food, good portion, good service...I wish there was one in San Francisco. It's a nice restaurant. I love that they serve their steak with a side of pasta. I like to have a variety of food at the table. So the sides that come with the meal are perfect for my appetite. When you're done with the meal, they'll ask if you want dessert. Of course I say, "Yes please" and out comes the dessert tray. I haven't been disappointed so far. So go out there and try it and don't forget to indulge yourself with dessert. By the way, don't order the meatloaf. My friend tried it and wasn't impressed. I told him, "It's an Italian STEAKhouse, what did you expect?" Haha...oh well, he enjoyed the creme brulee.

Went there last night for my birthday. They asked if it was a special night and we told it was and why and then we asked for a booth. They granted us a booth in the back, but then gave us a first night waitress and charged us for dessert. Dont worry tho, cause they gave us a dollar off for the dessert which was a heck of a deal! My food was really good (parm. crusted steak is way to go, even though its not healthy) but my gf's meal was served cold and the fish was so raw that she couldnt even cut through it. If you order the seafood skewers, make sure you tell them you want it extra well done, other wise it will be cold. We like raw fish, but not that raw! The rest of the night was good, the server (even though it was her first night) did a good job. I love this place so I hope they step it up a bit.

Best food I've ever had! Delicious and rich in flavor. Authentic Italian styled dishes and a fun vibe. Service was just as good as the food. I recommend getting reservations because this place is always busy!! Delicious and would recommend to anyone

Thank You ...Thank You ....Thank You! I hosted a 25th anniversary party for my son and daughter-in-law in the Boardroom on September 13. What a wonderful night and Johnny's made it "extra" wonderful with great food for the guests and top table service provided by Julius and Dawn. The caterer (Samantha) worked with me so everything would be "perfect" and "perfect" it was. What a wonderful experience!

All I have to say is that this is my new place for good food and super cold beer!!! Happy hour till 6:30 and the food prices are very reasonable for the quality food you get. Our bartender / server named Conner was just super nice----walking us through the menu as we are new to area. Bottom line---the place is awesome. Expect crowds because folks know how good it is. PS---reverse happy hour after 9:30 (I think)....

I wasn't fond of my brunch here today. I was looking for French toast. I tried Bailey's but it was packed, then Mimi's Cafe but they've closed down. A quick search led me here, and after glancing the brunch menu, I was excited! It started off well enough with an inexpensive, tasty mimosa. But then things started going downhill. The complimentary cinnamon roll they give you is incredibly dry. Then my French toast came out and it was... not what I was expecting. It was tough and doughy and very, very small. And the potatoes were bland. This brunch was maybe 2 stars. I'm throwing in another star for service and because I've been here for happy hour and had decent cheap drinks. Either try something other than French toast, or skip brunch all together!

I was impressed by the service and the parmesan crusted sirloin I ordered. I really didn't know how well that would compliment the beef, but it certainly did. It's worth a try for those who haven't had it before. All of the sides and wine were fine, but this is a high end steak house... So for steak and service it holds its own in beef crazy Omaha.

Great meal tonight!! Shrimp, crab cakes Filet Oscar for dinner. Service was great too. If you're in Omaha you need to stop by!!

Had a great meal here! Good portions, good quality - just so good! The petite filet was very filling. Also it comes with focaccia, salad and a side of your choice. If you like mushrooms, add balsamic mushrooms to your steak!

I would say that this place is average steak house nothing great but not bad. I had a small strip steak that wasn't great but again wasn't bad. Service was. A bit slow but not bad. Preparation was good not an old Omaha steak house.

I came here recently for a work dinner and was blown away by the food. The service was quick and excellent, no complaints there. The table shared calamari, which came out in a huge serving. It was really good. I got the Parmesan Encrusted New York strip and it was cooked exactly the way I asked for it and had a great flavor. I also got the house salad with it, and was not blown away by it. It was just "okay" and had way too many onions for my taste. They had a limited serving of beers, which we found odd. One of the guys at our table really likes Guiness, and they didn't have that. Then he wanted a Sam Adams and they didn't have that either. Which was really odd since they have a "drunken steak" on the menu which said it's marinated in Sam Adams. Didn't make you feel that great cause you wonder where the marinade comes from if it's not freshly made. Overall I enjoyed it and would come back again. Thankfully I didn't have to pay the bill but the prices were a little steep, which is to be expected for a nicer steakhouse.

I usually come here with friends for special occasions. While the prices aren't as steep as say, 801 Chophouse, they're still pricey-ish. Today's occassion? A Graduation. Yes. A very very important dinner with family and guess who messes up our rezzy? Johnny's. Initially I arrive at Johnny's alone, before my party. I learn of the so-called "cancellation" that was made an hour earlier. I call my friend and we decide to wait until she gets here because I had left the restaurant. I felt so uncomfortable because the hostess gave me what I like to call "bitch face." aka. she was SO sure that she was right that the reservation had been cancelled. I texted my friend that I would rather wait outside for them to arrive than to be inside with the mean hostess. Later we walk up to the podium all 8 people in my party are there. My friend, the graduate, asks again about our reservation. They claim we cancelled an hour earlier? Uhm! Excusez-moi?! Why would we cancel an important graduation dinner one hour earlier? Obviously it was a huge screw up on their part. Why are there no proper cancellation procedures in place? Don't they ask for the name, phone number, people in the group etc. to confirm the cancellation? I just don't understand how something like this happens. So, they say that they can scrounge up a table in 30-45 minutes, hopefully, "if the table before us doesn't order dessert"--and I quote!. The manager comes, perplexed he apologizes, but just a very curt one. The hosteess, who I had just about had it with, keeps on talking saying how it was "spooky" and weird that the reservation was cancelled. Gosh, she just could not filter herself!! I mean it is a stressful situation, but the way she handled it was NOT professional at all. The words that were flying out of her mouth, I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed for her that she was SO flustered. We got a buzzer then immediately walked over to Kona Grill to ask for a table. They could seat us in about 10 minutes. BUT just as we were going back to give Johnny's back the buzzer, they swoop in and magically place a table together for us. UGH. SERIOUSLY. We were just so peeved and hungry by that time we just went in and ate there. Everything after that was fine and dandy. But no manager came to check in on us to apologize again and ask us how our meal was going or anything. Any other respectable establishment would have sent the manager over without a doubt. Next time, I'm heading over to any other restaurant but Johnny's. I love their cocktail the Italian Evening, but I could probably look it up and make it myself. As for my favorite steakplace? I'm still an ever loyal fan of my all time favorite, The Drover. And to me, I'd pay $10 more for a huge amazing steak that comes with better service at the Drover any day than to eat cheaper steak with bad service at Johnny's.

Been here probably 4 times in the past 10 years. Service is usually good. Food is good. Nothing really stands out as "the best" or 5 star oriented. The times I've been here, the bar area is much too dark (dimly lit) and hard to see. I know there are at least two if not 3 better places to go for dinner in Omaha. But, Johnny's is always on the list of potential places to go. West Omaha is plagued by poor food quality which makes Johnny's nearly one of the best places to go. It would likely make a top 15 list in Omaha if I made one.

UPDATE: Although our dinner was not up to par, the management here is very good. Quite often, as a consumer, you feel that if you complain, 'you're one of those people'. I was in restaurant management and understand that criticism is not easy to hear but I also understand that is is part of the job. That said, the manager (see below) professionally addressed all of my concerns and that is all you can really ask for. Added another star for this!!! My assumption is that with this kind of manager on staff~they are worth another look see. So check them up not based on my ONE time bad experience but rather on the fact that we have always loved this place. Soup was luke warm. Chicken piccata was not good. My husbands dinner was also not hot. My son sent his steak back. He ordered it rare and it was well done. This used to be a wonderful restaurant. Not sure if it's because they are about to close but this was not good tonight.

This place was very good! I had the calamari marinara for an appetizer and the johnnies ribeye for my entree. The calamari was very good and enough for several people. My steak was cooked to perfection just as I ordered it. It was juicy and tender! I unfortunately did not get to eat more than 2 bites because I was so full from the calamari, bread and minestrone soup that I substituted instead of the family salad. We had EXCELLENT service. We had not even finished our free bread before our waitress brought a completely new loaf just so we had a warm one. My company had substituted the Cesar salad instead of the family salad and she found a long HAIR in her salad. I will not take a star away from that because chances are it was her hair, but still we were both disgusted at the thought of it being someone else's. We promptly told our waitress and she immediately got her a new one and apologized several times. My minestrone soup was very good and in the perfect sized small cup, I would not have wanted any more because I was already beginning to become full. The soup was good but I honestly like olive gardens minestrone soup much better. When my 18oz bone in ribeye arrived it was cooked to my exact request. I was able to take a few bites before I could not eat anymore, those bites were so tender and flavorful it it one of the top 3 steaks I have eaten. (I probably have a steak at least every other week if not more) we ended up paying about $45 a person and were fine with that due to the excellent service and wonderful food. The salad that had a hair in it was of course taken off our bill.

Came here to a business dinner, recommended by a client. The atmosphere is nice however the place was freezing. The calamari and fried zucchini were very good. I ordered the shrimp was crab meat. They were said to be large prawns yet they were the tiniest shrimp I had ever seen. This place wasn't anything special. Wouldn't recommend it.

Went to Johnny's Italian steakhouse for a group event of 25 people in the salad was delicious and nice and cold. The salmon was overcooked and dry. One person didn't get their food for 15 minutes after everybody else, half the Broccoli was yellowish and not fresh. The servers were amazing and try to accommodate us but the kitchen was offbeat. If not in group i would have sent back.

I had a wonderful time here with my friend =) We walked in and mind you my friend's leg is broken so we spoke with our hostess and asked if we could get a location where my friend could tuck her crutches away and sit comfortably because she also had a cast. We were seated promptly and our server Stephen came to greet us and seemed genuinely concerned about my friend. We ordered JOHNNY'S TOASTED RAVIOLI HEART OF ITALY COMBINATION x2 and a mixed drink So....my mixed drink was taking quite a long time and even after the ravioli came out I was drinkless =(! Stephen followed up about the drinks status at the bar and because I had to wait so long he was able to give me my drink complimentary. =D But....our food was taking forever =( was very hungry almost 30-45 minutes we were waiting! I try to be understanding because you know we came during dinner time but...I was hungry, so I asked our waiter to check up on the food again and he apologized again for it being so delayed. We finally got our food and it was great =D it came with so much though I pretty much took more then half togo. Overall I was very pleased with the service =) and the food was good too~

This restaurant is amazing, I had the filet steak and it was so delicious. The atmosphere is perfect although it's kinda dark but it's very comfortable at the same time. Their service is excellent, and the staff are very nice. I recommend it to you if you are a person who likes their steak tender.

I had been at this chain in Eau Claire, WI twice because of the parmesan crusted steak with shrimp/lobster. I got it again here in Omaha and was pretty disappointed. It was overcooked which ruined it for me. $27. The house salad was a nice size... and the server was nice. My dad got the drunken steak and he liked it. $22 Their steaks are suuuuper tiny!!!

We were impressed with both the service and the food. The Cloud 9 Martini is wickedly fabulous! The Little Italy appetizer is huge, actually a bit more food on that the three of us could handle. I had the charbroiled rib eye. It was beautifully rare, just as I had ordered it! I highly recommend the ribeye. Our waiter was friendly and attentive.

I'll admit first hand that I'm biased as I'm a Texas boy that loves Steak, but this place wasn't the best. Staff and management was grand. But the pork chops and ribeye were not seasoned at all. Very bland.

what a wonderful meal it made my foodie heart happy! beautiful place and shopping center. there is parking just realize the street "entrance" that looks like it should be one is not and on a very cold night walking all the way around the building leaves you a bit chilled so be aware of that if you have people that can't do the walk. it IS a nice walk, well lighted. the restaurant was very nice but I didn't feel underdressed because i stuck to my usual "casual" attire. there were others in tshirts. i also did bring my kindle and did not have problems with "dark" i did make a reservation prior and they emailed me confirmation. to start I liked the warm focaccia with parmesean dipping oil very much, the toasted ravioli was excellent and I really adored the tiramusu. onto the entree the steak I got was a special done with a lobster cream sauce i want to say that was "chanel" it had spinach and artichokes and sun dried tomatoes, and served with garlic mashed. every bite made me very happy i was back in Omaha and I was stuffed when I left and it was delicious. the décor the server and the experience start to finish was wonnnderful. I also didn't think the prices were so bad as per other reviews/comments about sticker shock and the prices were the "norm" of what I've notice on other area menus, but I AM coming from Kansas city and paid more for less delicious meals when I lived down there. i really want to try the lasagna in the future. YUM!

Our night here started off on a really bad note. We walked in and the hostess just glared at us and finally was able to mumble under her breath to inquire as to how many were going to be in out party. She took us to a table in a back corner of the restaurant( which I liked) but seemingly failed to tell the waiter she has sat someone in his section. We waited for over 10 minutes before my BF went to track someone down. A lesson or two in greeting guests is a must for the hostess, or maybe a personality transplant is in order. Once our waiter came over he was fantastic throughout the entire night and offered us a free dessert as compensation. Now, onto the important part. My BF has the filet Oscar which is topped with a crab cake, asparagus, and a Bearnaise sauce. He liked his meal but didn't seem blown away. I ordered the sirloin, medium rare, with pasta as my side. I, on the other hand, was blown away with my food. It was, without a doubt, the best sirloin I have ever eaten in my life. This sirloin was perfectly cooked and tender and the parmesan crusted topping was definitely worth the extra 2 bucks. I would order this over the filet any day. Yum-o! The salad that came with the meal was just a typical salad with an olive and pepprochini for an Italian flair. The honey balsamic house dressing wasn't tangy enough for my liking but I think a lemon, peeled and segmented, is a delicious snack. Take my version of tangy with a grain of salt. The meal also comes with foccocia bread and olive oil and parmesan are provided at the table. We also had the skillet potatoes as an appetizer. They were tasty but I wasn't blown away. The ranch I asked for on the side was pretty bad, surprisingly, since most steakhouses has yummy ranch. Oh well, you're here for steak, not ranch. We had a slice of banana cheesecake for our complimentary dessert and I would highly recommend it. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit here. Given the price point it won't be somewhere I frequent but I will definitely return in the future.

Italian food, meat, and yummy drinks? Yum! Johnny's Italian Steakhouse has all the above...and much more! Since they opened Johnny's has been one of my all time favorite restaurants West Omaha has to offer. The service is always great, wait staff is very educated and helpful. And everything I've ever had on the menu is simply food perfection. One of my favorite things about Johnny's besides the food and service is the fact that it's not rushed. They don't try to get you in and out quickly. I feel like many restaurants try to hurry and take your order, hurry and get you your food as quickly as possible; while Johnny's lets you actually take your time, let you enjoy your night out and let you enjoy and savor your food. They serve bread first which is always nice, and their bread is great! I could definitely eat baskets of it (don't you dare judge me!) I tried the red sangria this time, and it was glorious! I'm a huge sangria fan, and I was sad I didn't see it on the menu at first. I had to ask, and was so happy I did because it was a great drink! My go to is the Heart of Italy entree. It comes with steak, fettuccine alfredo, and chicken parmesan. It comes with a decent amount of food and I always leave with left hours. I highly recommend trying it. We sat out on the patio and it was very relaxing. The booths inside are great though too, they are very high and private. This is a great date night spot. I've been here for lunch as well, and they have a great lunch menu. But I still think it's the perfect date night spot.

Despite all the locals who advised against going to Johnny's Italian steakhouse, hard headed me decided to give it a try anyway. Lesson learned as the experience started going downhill the moment we walked in the door! The hostess failed to acknowledge us even though we were the only couple standing before them. We stared at them and they stared at us.....I guess one could say we had a stare off of sorts. Finally we were greeted and shown to our seats. The night continued on a downward spiral the moment Dawn, our waitress for the evening, introduced herself. She give blondes a bad name even though I suspect she uses dye. Dawn was rude, pushy, and an overall horrible waitress. Her personality was equivalent to a gnat and her table side manner was similar to the soup Nazi on Seinfeld. I had my break of Dawn after about 10 minutes and requested a new waiter. Julius to the rescue even though I still felt like the service was rushed.....kinda like a waiter asking about your meal while in the "I need to check on my next table" stance. As for the food, the ribeye was a huge disappointment as I've had better at less pricey restaurants such as Texas Roadhouse. All things considered, I will never return to Johnny's again!

Don't get the lasagna or veal. The bruschetta was a delicious appetizer, the mango sunrise was great, and I enjoyed the bread and oil. Unfortunately the main meal was lacking. If I'm going to pay $70 for dinner I would like the entre to be at the very least "good." My lasagna was noodles, cheese, and what tasted like loads of Italian sausage. The little spoonful of marinara they poured on the top didn't keep it from being way to dry to and meaty. My friend got the veil with a cream sauce and mushrooms. The mushrooms were the best part and that's sad to say when you order veal. When I had a bite of the veal I got a chunck of fat and it reminded me of chicken fried steak. I give it three starts and say stick to drinks and appetizers.

I must have gone on a bad night based on these reviews. It's highly rated here on yelp, but I did not enjoy my meal. I had a lot left over and that's totally out of character for me. We started with the mini Italy appetizer and zucchini fries. The zucchini fries were the best of the apps. The "sausage bread" was a sausage and cheese Stromboli. Do they really need to dumb down the dish name? It was pretty good. The bruschetta did not have any flavor. the calamari was a bit overcooked. For the entree, I ordered something called the tour of Italy. It had a chicken parm, a pasta and a Parmesan crusted filet(I went for the upgrade) The chicken parm was ok; large piece of chicken. The pasta was just alright. My steak was overcooked. I asked for medium rare and I got something closer to medium/well done. My coworker had the same problem. He ordered the steak trio and asked for medium and got well done. The waiter was very nice, but service was mediocre. He didn't get two of us plates and silverware until we asked after he served water, wine and the appetizers.

After a department-wide vote, we settled on Johnny's for our holiday lunch. The group consisted of around 10 people and everyone's order looked great! I ordered the spinach to start things off and, fortunately, it tasted as good as it looked. It included candied walnuts, egg, and prosciutto, I think. The best part was vinaigrette dressing. It was fantastic. The complimentary bread was good but not great. For the main course, I ordered the 6 oz lunch filet. It was cooked perfectly and it was just the right size. It was very tender and tasty. The pasta was pretty run-of-the-mill but it was just a small portion off to the side. All-in-all, it was a good experience and the server was fairly prompt about bringing drink refills. This is a good option for a business lunch or a date, however, it is the second best steak joint in Village Point. Personally, I prefer the fire grilled taste of the steaks at Firebirds a bit more but this is also a very good choice.

Had dinner here a while back and felt it was overpriced for the food quality. However, we stopped by again for vino at the village and they had the best lobster mac! Probably the best place overall for food, service, and wine that evening. It may even make me come back for another dinner:)

Want to try Omaha Steaks but Flemmings a bit out of the price range? Well, Johnny's is a nice steakhouse located in the Village Pointe Shopping center. You can top of your steak w/ one of three choices. I always opt for the parmeasan crust b/c it sounds the most safe and is quite good. I've only been here for lunch, so I'm not sure if it gets quite as packed as Kona Grill (right next door) for dinner). Service is good, the workers seem to be really friendly. Caution though, they cant seem to make a medium steak right, it ALWAYS comes out well done. But, when dinner is less than 20 bucks a person, I'm not complaining. Here's a better take on it = yelp.com/biz/johnnys-ita…

After driving thru the hinterlands of Eastern Nebraska, places with names like "Wahoo" with Right to Life billboards and such, I finally made it to 204th street in Omaha, took a left, then further down took a right onto West Dodge. What does this have to do with dining? Let me explain. After the two lane black-top hinterlands of Eastern Nebraska, West Dodge was pretty cool--six lanes, and lights in the median like they do in Montreal. Fuckit I'm driving in Montreal again, which made me hungry. I pulled off in a fancy sorta shopping complex, saw a Kona Grill, and after trying some not-so-fancy parking moves with the locals who still had to deal with snow issues, I found a parking spot and guess what--in front of me was Johnny's Italian Steakhouse. I'd been on the road right, so needed to use the can. I knew I was in love right away with this joint. Ice in the men's urinals, only a true Italian joint does this. At least from my experience. Women, I don't know what they do for you. Connie Francis maybe could tell me one day. I had the lunch special which happily for me that day was steak. Medium rare, side of fries and a salad and foccaia bread--and only ten bucks. This is a classy joint and a ten dolla lunch here was worth it. Staff was attentive, atmosphere great.

Full disclosure: Went here with the "Gourmet Club" hosted by KFAB Radio a couple of weeks ago. Group of about 60 people. Wanted to think about an appropriate response. I'll hand it to the staff, they were super-efficient and friendly considering the size of the group. That may be part of the problem. Wife and I agree that the courses in general were either under or over seasoned. Courses included Insalata Caprese (No flavor), Johnny's Supper-Club Spinach Salad (Weird flavor because of bacon vinaigrette? ), Filet Sinatra Style (Tender meat, over seasoned with salt and funky tasting mashed potatoes) and Limoncello Cake (Delicious) Weighing all the above, will have to give this visit a 2.5, rounded down because of the food quality. Will try this chain again when not as busy.

Every time I visit Omaha, Johnny's is the one "must" stop for the trip. The parmesan-crusted NY strip is fantastic. The fact that it comes with salad and garlic mashed potatoes all for $24 is unbelievable. In Boston (where I live), you can't get anything that good for under $50. Service has always been top-notch and the wine list is pretty solid. The drunken steak is also very good, as is the Salmon Fiorentino. But if you go to Johnny's, it's gotta be for the steak!

My husband and I really like this place! We've been there a few times now and have not been disappointed. The steaks are great, the apps are great, the service is great. Of course it's very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so go early or make a reservation!

DW and I went for a Friday dinner. We made reservations for 6:30pm and walked in about 10 minutes early. We were seated immediately. We were served by a very efficient, yet non-intrusive server. We both ordered something from the bar (Dewar's & glass of house chardonnay) and started off with their grilled bruschetta, which was fantastic. I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Steak and DW ordered the Drunken Steak. Both entrées arrived in a perfectly spaced amount of time after the appetizer course, and were cooked to order. They were also very tasty. My steak came with three crab-stuffed shrimp, which were fantastic. I ordered steamed broccoli with my steak, and it was steamed the right way, not raw or overcooked. We took an order of their Tiramisu home with us, and it was also very good. All in, we paid a little over $80 without gratuity, which is high, but for a romantic dinner and with service and food that was this good, it was worth it. The place was very modern and clean, and had a Chicago Chop House ambiance to it.

On my second visit I decided to go for a delicious steak. The bone-in ribeye was touted as the tastiest offering and I opted for the famous skilled potatoes. The house salad with ranch dressing was a disappointment since the dressing tasted like mayonnaise and there were some wilted lettuce leaves. When the steak and mushrooms arrived, they appeared very delicious . The steaks crust was quite thick and a little too burnt for a medium but other than that it was a fine specimen. potatoes are more like hash browns and very cheesy . Ironically, the sauteed mushrooms were the only real hit of the meal and their sauce would have been perfect for the chicken marsala dish I didn't like a few days ago. Apparently they were hit with some marsala and were plump and tasty. So after two visits, I change my recommendation and say, stick with the mushrooms : /

Happy Hour Review: I went here for happy hour and was actual skeptical at first...the name just threw me off a bit because I don't associate Johnny (casual name) or Italian with a steakhouse. But, my friend was hungry and there were not other options so we decided to check it out. We ended up in the bar and was excited that it was happy hour. We ordered the fried macaroni balls (I'm sure it was called something better) which were ok, the firecracker shrimp (ok), calamari (not so bad but generous portion!), flatbread (a little bit too cheesy but good), and sangrias (YUM!!!). Service was amazing considering how busy it got. Server was so friendly and answered all of our questions and made some good suggestions. Our bill for all the food we couldn't finish came to about $26. For two drinks and a lot of appetizers it was a deal (hence the 4 stars). The place itself was rather dark even though it was a sunny day but I guess if you were to go there during the evening it would be romantic. Decor was typical steakhouse look. Maybe someday I will try the steak - but I'll be there for happy hour again for sure.

I was in Omaha on a business trip not too long ago and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn West Omaha next to the VIllage Pointe Mall. I was too tired to drive into the main part of Omaha, but I wanted a good meal anyway. I had several places to choose from, several of which I know, but I figured Omaha, you have to go beef so I chose Johnny's.... and what a lucky choice. I had no problem getting in and the wait staff was quick and efficient in getting me my first drink. They had a very impressive wine list with some top CA wines despite being in the heart of "flyover" country. I ate far more than I should have, but everything on the menu looked really good, so I started with the toasted ravioli (who can resist that?) & French Onion Soup (I usually order it anytime I can) and the great bread they bring to the table. For my main course I had the bone-in ribeye, medium rare, and unlike most steakhouses these days it came with salad, a side of potatoes, veggies or pasta. I took the salad, passed on the side dishes and ordered their "famous iron skillet potatoes" (hey, I had to, they are famous afterall!) The steak came out perfectly done and the potatoes deserve to be famous. Overall, I wish business brought me to Omaha more often, there is lots more I'd love to try here. I am glad I found Johnny's, I will look for them in their other locations when I travel. Oh and I didn't finish my ribeye or the potatoes, but gosh darn if they weren't just fine the next morning for breakfast... sure beat Cheerios!

The food was fantastic. I had french onion soup and the chicken parmiagna salad - both great. Spouse had new york strip and also thought it was great. The service was awful. It took 10 minutes for our waiter to take our drink order. I ordered a glass of wine and a glass of water. Took it least another 10 minutes to get the wine. The water came right before my main entree. Very slow waiter and did not check on us. For the price you pay for a meal at this place, the service needs to better. It was also a weeknight so there is no excuse.

    1. Come for lunch on Steak, Steak, Steak Thursdays. 2. Get the Top Sirloin with a Parmesan crust for $10, which comes with a side of mashed potatoes or french fries. 3. Add a Caesar salad for $2. 4. If you're still hungry, have a slice of Tiramisu. 5. Leave full, content, and shocked that deals like this still exist in the US. Where else can you get a dynamite steak, a perfect Caesar, and a luscious Tiramisu for just $16?

Not good at least the night I went. Being in Omaha I expected a better steak and service. Ribeye was terrible. Salad was bland. Not recommending nor going back... unless someone else pays.

Food was okay... But very heavy, and by heavy, I mean the food itself was greasy on my plate... With butter! I ordered a sliced steak dinner.. It was more like a soup. The prices are pretty high, if I want to pay a high price for steak, there are much better places in Omaha. However, service was okay for the most part.

This is hands down the best steak I have had. As soon as I took my first bite into it I fell in love. I got the "Drunken Steak," which was marinated in a Sam Adam's beer. Two of my favorite things combined, how could this get any better!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
