this place is probably the hidest place around, so nommie. small tight fit atmosphere, just enough to cram your little foot into but don't worry you can sit outside too. the food is the best. try the avocado melt, or not, i dont care. but its pretty much the best. staff always is with their smiles it makes me smile too. powerful!

Maggie's is one of those places I just instantly feel at home. Located in downtown Lincoln, they have homemade (healthy, vegan) baked goods and, as the name states, all sorts of vegetarian vittles. I have been here twice, and have been disappointed neither time. I just really enjoy this place, the staff, and their vittles. You should definitely check out Maggie's if you're desiring a healthy treat or meal! Plus, their decor is great--decked out with non-GMO, local food, healthy eating paraphernalia galore!

Good G-od yall! Real people using real ingredients to make real food. That's what you should expect. My wife and I stopped in for breakfast. I had the egg and black bean stomach torpedo (omelet) that was out of this world. The eggs were farm fresh not factory freakish franken-ova. They tasted like... EGGS! You're going to want to put these in your belly right away. They also make each cup of coffee individually and to order. The generously provided habanero salsa to get my blood flowing, too! Oh, and the people are as kind and friendly as one could wish.

I am not a vegetarian, but that does not mean I cannot appreciate the occasional venture into veggie cuisine. This place has been making top notch vegetarian meals for years. Always good.

I love Maggie's! A great variety for a small vegetarian restaurant. Wraps, homemade humus, fresh soups of the day, salads, pizza, and gluten free vegan muffins & scones. No one is EVER in a bad mood here. They now accept credit cards via Square so that's a major convenience. They are located in the heart of Haymarket so parking can sometimes be challenging but don't blame that on the vegans! Healthy eating and you know you're supporting local Nebraska farmers. Feel good on the inside and out. Maggie's - I love you.

Delish and cozy! Local and non GMO!!! Would eat again on our way back to the Midwest. Soup of the day plus local bread=yummy and the perfect portion for lunch. Go and feed well.

I was thrilled to find a vegetarian place walking distance from my downtown hotel. The place was cute, but the atmosphere could have been much more cozy to combat the freezing weather outside. I ordered a breakfast burrito. It was overpriced but very good. The portion was generous and filling. You could tell it was made of quality ingredients. My only qualm with the dish was it said it included "various seasonal veggies" in addition to the tomato and onion already in it. There were no additional veggies. The service was friendly and fast. If I lived in Lincoln, I would return but not very often because of the prices.

Stopped at this place en route to California from Chicago. Worth the 10 minute detour from the highway. Cute little joint with counter service - they bring the food to your table. Super friendly guy taking orders. Loved the breakfast burrito - the right amount of cheese to eggs and potatoes - and warm avocado wrap with honey mustard dressing. Also if you garlic, check out the butternut squash soup. Really tasty chow for casual lunch or late brekkie. Local ingredients. Not to be missed. If you have some time walk around the downtown Haymarket area. Lots of cool architecture.

A vegan friend forced me to eat this stuff. I'm still here, lol but i turned green. Please, do not force me to eat it again. ;)

Stopped by this afternoon and it was great. I had the hummus burrito and it was full of flavour with a little spice. Very good. The atmosphere is casual with a focus on healthy eating and organic produce. Maggie is very cute and helpful.

We were at the new Pinnacle Bank Arena and I was happy to walk by this tiny veggie lovers place! "No credit/debit cards," surprised me, but the menu made up for it. We shared an open-faced, roasted veggie pizza. The veggies are listed as seasonal, and ours had turnips, tomatoes and onions on it. The crust was thick and crunchy on the outside. $12.95, but plenty of food for two!

Picked up an order for the trip back to Omaha and I was not disappointed. We tried the hummus wrap, baked tofu wrap, falafel salad, and hummus with sour dough bread. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The fresh tomatoes in everything was very awesome. The falafel was phenomenol! The only thing I would change is the tortilla they were in, not bad just nothing special. IMO a sun dried tomato or spinach tortilla/wrap would really kick it up a notch. The service was fast and cashier was very nice. Definitely worth a trip from Omaha for herbivores.

I love Maggies. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is the dearth of tables. In summer, when you can sit outside, that's okay. In the winter, with all the tables only a few feet from the door, you have to make sure to arrive a little early or late to (a) get seated; (b) not freeze. Then again, maybe the delicious, locally-sourced, organic food is worth a little frostbite. Even your carnivorous friends will like it.

Sweet Vegetarian Vittles! I didn't expect Lincoln -- where I grew up -- to have vegetarian offerings, so I was elated to discover Maggie's. I dragged my little brother and his girlfriend to this restaurant in Lincoln's Haymarket for lunch today, and considering it was their first vegetarian experience, I think we all left absolutely thrilled and stuffed. I opted for some kind of delicious Vegetarian Black Bean Casserole, which was layers of corn tortillas, black beans, some cheese, and a side salad. I also picked up a Gluten-Free Chocolate Peanut Butter muffin. The casserole was killer -- hearty and flavorful without feeling overwhelming (as black beans can), and the muffin was so rich and delicious, creamy with peanut butter and chock full of chocolate. Also? I popped my Kombucha cherry! My little brother and his girlfriend were pleased with their black bean burritos, and I assured them that being vegetarian doesn't always mean tofu. The digs are bright and snug, with probably seven tables with chairs, a grab-your-own place for silverware and napkins, and some tubs to bus your cute plastic plates. It's a simple joint, but it gets the job done and for some reason, the ambiance makes you feel healthy while you're eating healthy. Next time? I'll opt for something similarly mexilcious. I can't wait to go back!

Excellent! Maggie's is a warm, inviting treasure, tucked away in the revitalized, post-industrial area, The "Haymarket" in Lincoln, NE. Fresh ingredients + Innovation = OUTSTANDING! Bring $ - Maggie's does not accept plastic.

A wonderful surprise - this is a sweet little hole-in-the-wall with fabulous vegan food. We had the nut meat tacos and they were awesome! Very flavorful and filling. I highly recommend this restaurant- it is well worth getting off the freeway for. When there visit the licorice store across the street. A double treat.

I was a little shocked at how pricey this place was. I understand the focus on local, fresh produce. But wow. The coconut curry tofu wrap was tasty, but it wasn't 7.99 tasty. And the tiny little ginger chocolate chip donut i bought was all but flavorless. Not sure I'll be returning.

Fresh and flavorful is the best description of Maggie's. We had an avocado wrap and the southwest black bean casserole. Both were filling and freshly prepared. They each had a delicious dressing - honey mustard on the avocado wrap and a roasted red pepper dressing with the salad for the black bean casserole. Usually, dressings or sauces are too much or don't add flavor, but these perfectly complemented the food. We were glad to get there early during the lunch hour because it quickly filled up and service isn't the fastest, but we will certainly return to try more of the menu.

I've developed a sort of routine on my business trips. 1) Arrive at a new town on Monday and buy the next 5 non breakfast meals based on convenience or unhealthy indulgences. 2) Get a craving for some fresh, healthy food around Wednesday night. 3) Find an awesome place on Thursday that perfectly fits the bill. 4) Kick myself for not looking earlier in the week. That's what happened to me in Lincoln with Maggie's. Oh how I wish I had found this place on Monday. It is very small, but on a cold, blustery day late in in lunch hour there were plenty of seats available. (A lady who I assume was) Maggie and her colleague were remarkably friendly and gave me advice on what to order. I settled on the Avocado melt, walked back to the office, and had my mind blown. It was delicious. The veggies were fresh, the cheese was yummy, and the mustard sauce added a perfect twist. Finding a place like this run by people like Maggie just makes my day a little bit happier. I will stop by to pick up something different for lunch tomorrow on my way to the airport, and I will fly home lamenting the three other missed opportunities to explore their delightfully fresh and healthy menu. Next time I come to Lincoln, it's Maggie's starting on Monday.

Locavores rejoice! I finally got a chance to try Maggie's this weekend! I ordered the Vegetable Pizza, and my BF had a frittata and some South India Black Bean (?) soup. The crust on the pizza was very soft and doughy, not crusty - but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing, It was very tasty, and topped with broccoli, tomatoes, cheese, and balsamic vinegar. I wonder if I can get mushrooms on it when they're in season? That would be good! My BF enjoyed the food so much, he had no trouble cleaning his plate, and even had a slice of my pizza! I did get to try a bit of his soup: It tasted like a black-beany mulligatawny. I'm anxious to go back & try some of the other menu items. (BIG) PRO: - Locally-grown and locally-produced products used in their food. Photos of the local farmers are even posted on the walls so you can "meet" the people who grew your meal :) CONS: Much smaller dining area than I expected. It only seats 14. If you're claustrophic, consider getting your meal to-go. Does not accept credit/debit cards

Maggie's is a great place in the haymarket for vegetarians. There's a big emphasis on local ingredients, which rocks! The vegan options are a bit slim, but it's definitely a staple in my lunch rotation. And the muffins: sent from heaven.

This place rawks! Sweet little vegetarian restaurant with several vegan options. I often choose the baked falafel that is served with a spicy yogurt sauce. The roasted veggie pizza is enough for two and the veggies rotate based on seasonal availability. The black bean wrap is spicy and wonderful, as is the curried tofu. In the winter months, keep an eye out for the hearty Guinness stew - you'll realize just how easy it is to go meatless! Thanks for having such a great place, Maggie!

They've got really good soups... This is a wonderful place to go in the summer and sit outside, especially when they've got avocado soup! They also have good desserts... I'm not big on red onions, which appears in too many dishes for my taste. But Maggie is wonderful, and this place bears her charm!

Yum! We walked in just as they were closing but the nice woman (Maggie?) behind the counter made our wraps and gave us suggestions of nearby places where we could sit inside and eat them. The curried tofu wrap was outstanding, as was the warm avocado/veggie/cheese. A man walked in just as we were leaving and sounded desperate when he asked if she had any muffins left at all. He had been late to work and didn't have time to stop at The Mill beforehand (where her stuff is also sold) and by the time he got there, all the muffins were gone. Luckily, she had some left. It sounded like it would have ruined his day if she didn't. I don't doubt it would have - the stuff here is amazing!

I discovered this spot on a recent visit to Lincoln and was wowed! Their vegetarian wraps are amazing!! I have had a lot of great vegetarian/vegan food in the S.F. Bay Area and I was skeptical about finding some in Lincoln, but this was fantastic! They also sell yummy Kombucha and the baked goods looked amazing. Their commitment to locally grown/produced food is awesome, and I especially enjoyed looking at the photos of the local farmers who supply them. A great spot!

On a recent drive coast-coast, my friend and I stopped in Lincoln, NE for several days and went on a mission to find some good food. She grew up in Lincoln, and had heard of a good vegan muffin place in the Haymarket...so we thought we would take a look. The pros: super awesome for local, seasonal food. And hooray for a vegetarian restaurant! The vegan chocolate fennel muffin was absolutely to die for - so moist and flavorful. My friend gushed over her avocado wrap. Nice homey feel, and fair value for the price. The cons: Very small space, although there is space to sit outside the restaurant as well. I was not overly wowed by my salad (dried cranberries, walnuts, and blue cheese), but the quality of the greens was good. Overall, a very positive experience. I would definitely return, and might go back tomorrow for another chocolate muffin!

Really, really good--love that avocado/cheese wrap, perfect very time. Even with being in Haymarket and parking can be iffy, I've never had a problem parking close enough. When I need a treat in an ugly work day, this is where I head to get happy with the world, or long enough anyway.

We had lunch here last week. We were in Lincoln because of a family illness. It was very taste and we will certainly be back the next time we are in Lincoln. They have some nice deserts also. In beef country it is great having such a good vegan cafe.

Big fan of Maggie's! The food is good. I had an avocado wrap that was delicious. The mustard sauce is excellent. I like how they don't serve any meat in the place. My favorite place to eat in Lincoln!

I love Maggie's! This is a great little vegetarian cafe, and I love stopping in when I can. The owner Maggie, is a very genuine, customer oriented, attentive and adventurous chef/owner. I have always gotten excellent service, and unique food. My favorite wrap is the three cheese. It has delicious fresh (often locally produced) cheese, veggies, sunflower seeds, and her signature red pepper sauce. The combo is perfect, and I aways splurge for the whole wheat wrap. It's definitely worth the extra money. The avocado wrap is also a favorite of mine as is the black bean casserole, various soups, and the HUMMUS! They also do baked goods that are hearty and comforting. Their muffins are delicious, my favorite being hemp seed! It's so tasty, and it fills me up for a very long while. I crave them all the time! Go to Maggie's! They have a great communal atmosphere, good, healthy food and inviting service.
