Some locations are better and faster than others (48th and Vine is the best), but all of them provide delicious, inexpensive Mexican food. It's the quintessential "late night" food. My favourite is the #18: Two Grilled Chicken Burritos with Refried Beans and Rice. It'll cost you like $7.50 and leave you stuffed. Get tons of the red sauce. The only major probably with D'Leons is communication. The drive-through speakers often mangle words and some of the employees, as kind as they are, do not speak English very well. But if you are patient, you will be rewarded with some wonderful guilty-pleasure cuisine.

Tried out this place with friends who like it but I wasn't really impressed with this location. It's super small inside so the drive-thru would have probably been a better choice than choosing to eat inside. I felt really unclean sitting inside. Mainly because there were more flies in that little space than I could count. I was concerned that one might make its way into my food. The food was okay even though it was hot and fresh. I had to wait extra long for my burrito because the cook accidently cooked the wrong thing (I saw them correct it before bringing it out to me). Kuddos to the front guy for his extra effort and attention to detail to make sure it was correct before bringing it out. Overall, I honestly think my impression of this place was tainted by the flies. But, if I had gone through the drive-thru then maybe it would have been easier to overlook.

Very cheap food, but apparently you get what you pay for. Tried it a few times, got a different thing each time and I wasn't impressed by the quality of the food or the flavor. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea.

Cheap, crappy Mexican food. The quality is not the best, and is it me, or do they drown everything in cheese? Is that a requirement or something to work here? Drive thru speaker is awful, and the quality of the meat is barely passable. What they have going for them, is its cheap and they have a few good locations. All that said, its probably still better then TacoBell or Amigios.

Locations of this franchise vary greatly in quality but I can attest this location is the best for me. The fish burrito's are lovely and plump with a tangy mayo type sauce and coleslaw, sounds funny I know but it's great. I think the fish is Cat Fish and for $5 it's a steal. I also enjoy the Grilled Chicken Burrito when I've had a few beers. This place is not to be considered anything other than quality fast food. The service is swift and polite. Their daily specials are cheap and it's a vast step up from Amigo's or any other 24 hour a day fast food place. Took a friend from So Cal there for lunch one day and he say's it's as good as any family owned Mexi fast food place he had ever eaten. I was proud to have taken him there.

The food is too heavy with flavor that is mediocre at best. Prices are reasonable, but the overall food quality is poor. For my first and last meal at this restaurant I ate a #6 with a cheese enchilada and veggie burrito served with beans and rice. The enchilada was not cooked fully and the burrito was mostly rice with just a touch of beans. On the whole, my meal was very "meh." I would strongly recommend eating at another one of Lincoln's Mexican restaurants, such as La Paloma, and spending a few dollars more for a plate of quality food that is well prepared and fresh. The extra expense will save you from an all-night stomach ache.

D'Leons is awesome! I usually get some kind of burrito because they're huge and they're less than $5. I'm also a big fan of the spicy sauce they give you for free. Open 24/7 and tastes great for a super cheap price. Wayyyyy better than getting a greasy burger and fires! This is my go-to place when I'm craving fast food. I have found that the N 27th one usually has the fastest service, but the 48th one gives you even bigger portions. 4 stars because I have found chewy chicken/chicken bones in my burrito a couple times (both times at the N 27th one).

Yes, the one on 27th is NOT the best. But if you go to the one on 48th and Vine.....OOOOOOOOOOH MAN! That is the BEST place to go in town. Seriously. I am from Omaha and when I first heard of it, I was not impressed, then I ate it. This place is open 24 hours and it is consistenly delicious, fast, and friendly. I get the Country Burrito (cheese, potatoes, sour cream, and eggs) you can add chicken, beef or pork if you'd like but I love it the way it is. The potatoes are fresh, the tortilla is huge and fresh, the eggs are scrambled perfectly, the cheese is melted and the sour cream is cold. I usually pair it with a Horchata (mexican drink that tastes like the milk after you have a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch). It is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or after a night downtown. This place takes the cake for fast Mexican food. It is comparable to any sit-down Mexi restaurant. The portions are perfect, sometimes too much (which is worth the money bc leftovers are great!) I give it 6 out of 5 stars!

As with all the D'Leon's stores, this is a kind of dingy hole in the wall that has seen better days. The food is fine for the genre (the genre being quick Mexican food with a high calorie to dollar ratio, but limited subtlety). Try not to think too hard about how many miles on the treadmill the quesadilla just set you back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
