Doozy's is my favorite sandwich place. I have gotten a number of their sandwiches over the years and have never been disappointed. The sandwiches are toasted with a lot of cheese and meat so everything is hot, melty, and delicious. The full sandwiches are huge. I would usually get a full and then eat it for two meals. Its almost as good cold the next day as it is hot from the oven. Absolutely delicious sandwiches.

Oh my doozys. Trust me, I'm a college student and will only eat out and spend money if I truly love a place. I honestly probably eat here twice a week... It's that good. If you're looking for a hole in the wall place where the college kids eat, this is it. It's order at the counter and they bring it right out to you. Nothing special but so so SOOO good!!

I had them deliver, and was just as pleased. They made a sandwich for me that wasn't even on the menu! Tasted just as good as I remembered. Really falling in love with Doozy's.

Got a steak and cheese while on tour, absolutely fantastic. The bread was really amazing, and everything was fresh and tasty. All the other sandwiches my buddies got were on point, and I honestly wish they had one of these out in LA. If you're around, you must eat here.

The sandwich was pretty good, but I would have like to have been asked what kind of cheese I wanted on my sandwich. It was alright, but not amazing.

Doozy's has fairly good sandwiches. For all of the hype that they got I was pretty disappointed in the sandwich I received. Staff was very nice, but the sandwich was just okay.

Mmmmmmm Doozy's Italian combo. Is there anything it can't do? I used to work downtown and came into Doozy's a couple times a month to get the Italian. Jeff (an employee) told me I would get sick of the it. Well you know what Jeff? It is five years later and I don't go in as often as I used to but I STILL ORDER THE ITALIAN!! Who's laughing now Jeff??!!??!?!? You are my one and only Doozy's Italian combo. No other sandwich will ever take your place in my heart or stomach. I may stray. Sometimes the Vito over at Jimmy John's tempts me. But I always come back to you Italian.

Doozy's had a shop on the North side of town years back and it was horrible. Sadly this was my first experience with them. It took years of a very persistent friend telling me Doozy's was amazing. Finally I caved in, went with him to the DOWNTOWN location and I am now pissed at myself for not trying this sooner. As long as you go to the DOWNTOWN location (which I think is the only location now) you can't go wrong... quite possibly the best sandwich shop in Lincoln.

I know I say it a lot, but this is another place you can please anyone. You honestly can't go wrong. They have the perfect warmth and toast to every sandwich. That paired with the bread they serve and mayo is perfect with any combo. I enjoy The Hot Jake and think really any guy would enjoy it too. It's not on the menu, but check it out on the piece of paper on the side. Coke products are a huge plus and they have a rewards card to apply toward a free half sandwich. A tip: all you need is a half sandwich to fill up. I have never tried the pizzas but have heard good things. Enjoy! Brat

BEWEAR I GOT FOOD POISONING FROM THIS PLACE!!! Maybe I just have really bad luck or maybe eating a tuna sandwich from this place gave me a parasite a doctor said "was a sure sign of E.coli"!!!! I'm a flight attendant so needless to say I've had some of the best and worst food from around the country, this place was definitely the WORST!! I ordered the Tuna Melt, a sandwich I used to love, that was huge, reasonably priced, and tasted just slightly different, and by different I mean acidic. So, I thought hey maybe it's just good flavoring compared to the salads I've been eating from McD's all week. Unfortunately, unlike other sandwich shops I've frequented the next day doesn't bring me happiness and joy because I found another unexpectedly great gem, it brings diarrhea and, the next 5 days I find myself in Urgent Care callin on Jesus to please take this cup from me!! AKA EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA, SEVER ABDOMINAL CRAMPING, NAUSEA AND VOMITING, AND FOUR DIFFERENT TYPES OF ANTIBIOTICS AND PAIN KILLERS!!! Moral of this ugly story, BEWARE OF DOOZY'S!!! Unless you enjoy the fear of death and wish nothing more than to meet the Grim Reaper himself, DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!

This place is a Dive, but in a good way! Had not been to a Doozy's in a long time since they closed the one on south 56th street. Had the chance to eat here with my wife today and I had forgotten how much I like doozy's. I had the steak and cheese, and let me tell you, its a very tasty sandwich. Doozy's is a lot like Quiznos in that they toast all their sandwiches, but they don't ask you to add a bunch of toppings like subway does. They serve hot sandwich's and they are dang good. The quality and freshness is a lot better then Jimmy Johns, which just has cheap cold cuts of processed meat they ship in and slap on some bread. Doozy's goes back to the art of making a good and quick sandwich everyone can enjoy. They have a lot of choices and a different daily special. This downtown location is the last one standing in Lincoln, which is a shame because I think they put out a good product. This location is pretty small and not much seating but its one of those local hole in the wall places that has been around for a long time you just have to visit once in a while.

This Doozy's IS OPEN, so everyone should go there now and enjoy a delicious Doozy like I just did. I've been going there since the freaking 90s! Have to stop there whenever I'm in town. The sandwiches are still just as amazing now as when I was in college.

Always the best. Been coming for ten years. First night in Lincoln was a doozy with my buddy's at the U. Ten years latter same guy is still working. Love him and the food!

Stopped in on my second day in Lincoln after reading some of the reviews on here. Wasn't disappointed. The guy there suggested the Hot Jake- right up my alley. Good hot sandwich with great flavor and a pickle on the side is always nice.

I've been living here as a native lincolnite and never perchanced to try this little joint out. A-MAZ-ING. Not only are the hot-to order sandwiches great by themselves, as a small hole in the wall they run a small staff who are incredibly helpful and cool...probably the best I've run across so far in my foodie-tourist career. ;) they're just like any one of my close friends...super chill, nice and like to talk. They also seem to really be "in-the-know" about all of the surrounding restaurants and little places like theirs around. Very helpful . Piqued my interest just talking to these guys. With the incredible plethora and over-saturation of sandwich shoppes here in the downtown area, I'm shocked I hadn't of tried this....clearly the best in the city. A must-try for any sandwich-lover or typical college student. I suppose I had just gotten used to lower standards set by the colloquial subway (*mutters muted curses*)

Love this place, if you need a hot sandwich. Have not found a better hot sandwich on this planet. Roast beef, no tomato, add onion is my standard order but have never had a bad sandwich. Steak and cheese very good, and have to try the cheese bread. Oh boy love some Doozy's!

The best sandwich place. Love their toasted steak and cheese sub. There's nothing like it. The atmosphere is strange, but that's what I like about it. It's very "hometown-ish." I think the same three guys have been working there for the past 8 years.

Oh Doozy's, how you tempt me. This place has delicious toasted sandwiches. They have awesome, almost english muffin-like bread and they load it with cheese and meats then toss it in a big oven. Mmmmm. The service leaves a bit to be desired, and they don't seem to be very customer service oriented. That being said, it's still a fairly fast and efficient sandwich shop. Even over a busy lunch hour, I usually get my sandwich in a reasonable amount of time. They also serve pasta dishes, although I've always stuck to the sandwiches. I can't ever think of anything else when I walk in that door.

They make the kind of sandwiches you crave. I'm a fat pig and a half-sandwich is typically enough for me. I always go with the Italian, but countless times I've been with others who have ordered other menu items with no complaints. I've never heard a bad word about the place.

I came here a few days before New Year's Eve in 2006 and had a really enjoyable experience. They toast their sandwiches and serve it next to a hearty pickle ---mmmm.. I just love pickles! They are reasonably priced [ahh, the joys of dining in a college town when you are gainfully employed!] and the service staff is really friendly. I would totally come back here the next time I find myself in Lincoln, Nebraska.

this place was so great. After googling local places in Lincoln and reading the reviews on this place, being the foodie that I am, I had to try it, and it did not dissappoint. The sanwiches were amazing, and the prices were great. It is so nice not eating at all the commercialized chain places they have here, but getting some good local food.

Cheap, good eats!!! My sis told me about this place and said it's a can't miss. She was right on! I had the BBQ pork and it was perfect. Very tasty and filling. A buddy had the jalpenio swich and those jalepenios were flippin HOT! Can't miss for the $$$ you spend.

I looooove Doozy's. I used to work in the Wells Fargo building and I would eat at Doozy's once a week, at least. My favorite sandwiches are the BBQ pork and the BLT. Their BLT is one of the best BLT sandwiches I've ever had. Any every sandwich comes with a yummy pickle (although, if your order is to go, you have to request the pickle). I wish Doozy's would open a Chicago location right across the street from the office I work in now - I would eat there everyday!!

It's nothing stellar, but the food is pretty good for the price. If you're looking for a unique hot sandwich shop, this place fits the bill. I usually get the special of the day, the price is just too good to ignore. Only negative is the shop looks a little dingy - don't let that deter you though!

I had a pastrami sandwich. The sandwiches are toasted with cheese (not of your choice) and mayo. The bread is pretty good, but lost its tastiness as the sandwich cooled. I waited over 25 minutes for one sandwich at 11:30 on a Friday - unacceptable, really, for a place that is supposed to be a quick sandwich place. The sandwiches come in three sizes. The smallest size is fairly inexpensive, but the middle and larger sizes are about the same as the other sandwich places in downtown Lincoln. Not bad, and nice to support a local business, but certainly don't come if you are in need of a fast meal.

I didn't want to go here. There was a line, almost out the door. I'm glad I stayed. I ordered the barbeque pork sandwich and boy... was it GOOD. They grill their sandwiches. I can't think of anything bad to say, except they should think about expanding. It's popular destination for the lunch crowd. Oh... the sizes are snackers, half and whole. A half is enough to fill you up. I don't see my sub on the web site's menu, so they may want to update it.
