Not being a rabbit I don't care for salad bars so I went right to the Prime Rib sandwich with a baked potato. Found the meat tender and tasty and when accompanied by a little horse radish it was just what my cardiologist wouldn't order. LOL By the way, a VO and water was a mere $3.25. I'd definitely come back if I ever come back to Gothenburg. I read the reviews and the ayes won out over the nays. I'm glad I choose this joint it was solid good grub.

It was tough finding a place to eat here in Gothenburg, not too many choices. We settled on Walkers Steakhouse. When we walked in at 5pm we were the first dinner customers. The first thing that hits you is that this is one huge room with a white picket fence divider, and a bunch of tables on both sides. Not much of a beer selection. The only real choices were Killian's or Fat Tire. A very complete menu with lots of choices. I asked the waitress what was the most popular and she said the Chicken Fried Steak, chicken Fried Chicken and Flat Iron Steak were the most popular. I ordered the fried chicken, my wife ordered the pork chops. We were told to help ourselves to the salad bar. The lettuce was chilled but the tomatoes looked old. The dressings were good. Most of the side salads looked old, and like they forgot to wrap them last night. The main course's were great. My fried chicken had a simple, tasty flour breading and it was cooked perfectly. My wife had the pork chops. They looked kind of thin but she said they were very tasty. Overall, if I was in Gothenburg again I would stop back and hope the salad bar was better or just order the soup. The main course was great, and the dinner rolls were some of the best I have had in a long time.

We eat here, maybe, once a month with local friends. Always good chow and service. Everything on the menu has been good. Likely the better place in town to eat most anything.

This is obviously the local country steakhouse. The salad bar looked ok, not well kept though. The salad dressings were getting mixed together and the potato salad was dried up on top. I ordered the crispy chicken salad, which was pretty good/nothing special. My hubby ordered the chicken fried steak. He really liked it. It came with a huge homemade biscuit and mashed potatoes with gravy on everything. So, if you stop here, order a country steak meal and you should be fine. The place is huge inside. It's probably the town meeting place. It also has a couple of pool tables and a decent beer menu.

Have been to Walkers' several times while traveling through Nebraska. Frankly this place is an embarrassment. I don't know how it can call itself a Steak House - it must buy the lowest grade beef. Tough and tasteless. And to think this is in the middle of Nebraska where good steaks should be readily available. Hamburgers - no, another bad choice. Shrimp? No. Tough. I would stop for pie and then head on to Cozad to Bella Italia for much, much better food. Only the pie at Walkers keeps me from giving this no stars.
